Due to the large amount of areas in the city, we shall be using a limited subforum setup for the Lune Seaport to encourage thread interaction.
When making a new thread, it would be helpful for organization if the thread starter lists something like the following at the beginning of their post.
District: (Any of the eight districts.)
Location: (In case you want to RP at any of the district landmarks. Otherwise it will be assumed to be downtown by default.)
You may also use thread label that correspond to each of the colors. See this post for a guide.
Azure Palace: The large circular building within the center of the Blue District. It is the residence of the Blue Princess and also the primary administrative center for all politics and parliament in Lune. On one side of the palace is a huge garden consisting of flora from all around the Unfounded Kingdom. Its perfect and well-maintained appearance give the impression of the Blue District's sheer influence within the city.
Cobalt Harbor: The largest harbor within Lune and a heavily regulated place of commerce. Almost all the ships that enter Lune will eventually dock here; the busiest trade days where ships line up to enter and leave are quite a wonder to see. It's often described as the Strategem of the Blue District for this reason. Spanning around the Cobalt Harbor is a long stretch of coastline where residents and travelers often stop for a nice beachside outing. Naturally, restaurants and souvenir shops galore can be found every step of the way. The southern edge of the harbor extends up to a small hill where a bridge has been erected, forming a path to a nearby peninsula that serves as one of the entrances to the city.
Liverbird Lighthouse: The Liverbird Lighthouse is a tall building that stands at the edge of the Cobalt Harbor, guiding along ships that reach the coastline of Lune. It is marked by a large moonstone statue of two birds perched atop the building. The light at the top of the tower is said to be a magitech relic that shines almost as brightly as the moon in a dark or foggy night. This has given sailors the impression of two moons looking upon their safe arrival.
Fountain of Fate: There is a legend that long ago, the traveling merchant tribes whose descendants would eventually form the leaders of Lune were lost in a barren land. The tribes would eventually find a lone well, and in drinking the water, they reached a clarity where they would have temporarily settled their differences and built a farm together that season to survive. Now that mythical farm is nowhere to be seen, but the legend carries on in this monument. It is a large water fountain that shoots up pre-treated water high into the air, where a rainbow would form and the water would fall down to its basin and start all over again. Much in the spirit of the old legend, it's said that the fountain is one of the few things that brought the districts together, each laying claim to a portion of its commission.
Redletter Ironworks: The largest industrial subdistrict of Lune, a building and factory complex built from brick and shrouded commonly by a thin layer of smog. It is often described by names such as "the image of reckless innovation" by its environmentalist opponents. Nevertheless, the technology produced within this district grows at an amazing rate every day, as its workers strive toward enriching the district's reputation and influence. This subdistrict is also home to the Maroon Rail Station.
Maroon Rail Station: For quite some time before the Adventurers had even begun to start their research into any form of new technology, the engineers of the Red District had already launched their own train system. The system consists of several ironclad trains that can take one to the other end of the city within about 30 minutes. There are several stations located in each district, with the Maroon Rail Station being the most prominent example.
Ignus Lava Mines: The Red District was built beside a pit of geothermal activity and much of these mines have been mapped out and industrialized. Besides the lava and magma extracted from the pit to use as energy sources, the Lava Mines also happens to be the largest source of Flame Ice, a necessary coolant for many Red District inventions, in possibly the entire Unfounded Kingdom.
Efretti Footstep: It's said that upon the discovery of the Lava Mines, a creature called an Ifrit had emerged from the flames and attempted to raze the settlement. The townspeople banded together and sent forth their strongest Summoners to contain the threat. All that remains of this historical battle are the burned old buildings that still stand to this very day, serving as a reminder of the district's humble beginnings.
Rubicia Hot Springs: It's no surprise that hot springs can be found above the lava pits as geysers shoot out a bubbling mix of groundwater and trapped moisture. The hot springs are a popular tourist destination among all ages. It's said that there is a certain type of monkey species that sticks around the area, so tourists should be wary of their belongings.
Verdant Park: A beautiful park and garden complex roughly a square kilometer in size, it is one of the most popular meeting places within the Green District for picnics and dates. There is always a weekly farmer's market in the park's main area, where farmers and merchants sell their freshest goods and produce. Most of the area is on fairly level ground, though it has its fair share of hills and inclines. A river runs its way into the park, forming miniature waterfalls as the river makes its way down the slopes. Finally to top off the park, the center of the park features a Ferris Wheel of 25 cars with a max hold of 6 people each. While technology is never really a big aspect of the Green District, this landmark is allegedly one of the cleanest-functioning mechanisms around.
Garden of Paradise: Situated on the largest hills of the Verdant Park is a small set of buildings that was constructed from the surrounding nature. It gives off the impression of a village within a city and the Green Princess is known to live here as she interacts with the local residents.
Jade Crater: Long ago, a meteorite crashed into the tallest point of the Lune area. When residents of the then-small settlement went to investigate, they discovered that the crystalline rock that had struck the ground had made the surrounding land extra fertile thereafter. Today, pieces of the meteorite are still said to be in circulation, but it's said that the majority is still deeply embedded in the ground. Perhaps this legend describes the true source of the Green District's power. Nowadays, the mythical site of the Jade Crater is a large mountainous grove with a pool of fresh water at its peak.
Saffron Studio: One may visit this facility and compare it to the Dimensional Theater in Avon in terms of cultural importance. But where the Dimensional Theater had turned into the sustaining if slightly imposing heart of Avon, the Saffron Studio has branched into the modern arts in order to form a landmark that attracts visitors from all around the city. It is a large theater building decorated with an elaborate golden lion statue at its entrance. Upon entering the facility, one gets the sense that it functions much like an "entertainment mall" or sorts. The building is home to big and small theaters, sports stadiums, an arena, and a museum. Frequently in its halls during the evening, aspiring artists hold an Artist's Alley where one can browse around and shop for amateur artistic works.
Golden Steps of the Muses: A literal yellow brick road, the Yellow District is noted for capturing the essence of their finest artists on this landmark that stretches for about a kilometer. It functions as a "walk of fame" where noteworthy artists would have their handprints and signatures engraved into the pathway for all to see. The Golden Steps is surrounded by a multitude of stores and workshops, many of which were founded or are still run by those very individuals the walkway was designed for. At the end of the walkway is a nine-step stairway which lead up to the Saffron Studio.
Ochre Coliseum: A large battle arena designed for mass battle sports. Combatants from all over the city band together for competitions and exhibition matches. Once a year, the Coliseum holds a grand battle tournament called the Topaz Cup, crowning a Topaz Champion respectively.
Coral College: The Orange District's pride, a full-fledged academy where its students pursue the science of physical and magic craft. Enrollment into this facility is open to anyone with a pioneering aptitude, although it's said that the most elite students are on an entirely different level from the common public. The college is situated beside the coastline and steam often rises from the alchemy ovens and mechanical engines placed just outside.
Apricot Apartments: A gated community consisting of apartment complexes serving as a small but safe neighborhood. Many rooms are occupied by students of the Coral College, as it is roughly a few minutes' walk away. Besides the residential areas, this part of the district features small sports courts, a cafeteria, and a public pool. It's often a bustling place of activity especially after the major examination periods, as many an Adventurer may remember from their past world.
Brasstack Plaza: A main plaza within the Orange District where many of its industrial sectors are located. Spires tower all around this shopping district as crafters roam the streets, looking for parts and discussing research plans with their colleagues. It's said that a visit to the plaza for even a few minutes can leave one inspired by the sheer level of enthusiasm from the community.
Lavender Atoll: The second-largest seaport in Lune next to the Blue District's, this particular port works as a bazaar for exotic and commerce goods. In comparison to the Cobalt Harbor and its complicated bureaucracy, the Atoll under a "unload and sell" policy. This means that many of the goods circulating in the district may tend to be from questionably legal sources, but they are undoubtedly very sought after by the citizens of Lune.
Orchid Taiga: An island that is mysteriously saturated by the presence of ice mana, causing its coastline to be frozen over most months of the year. It is always blanketed by a soft layer of snow. At the center of this island stands the Heliotrope, a gigantic ice sculpture of a serpent, its snake-like body serving as a staircase toward the ceremonial altar at the top.
Heliotrope: Said to be a guardian beast of the Lune Seaport, it is a large sculpture of a serpent. The crystal statue glows with a radiant light in the evening, bathing the Orchid Taiga in a gentle violet glow. The intricate design of this monument is detailed enough that it seems almost as though it were once a living being.
Vella's Doom: A small island to the northwest of the Violet District, where a horde of pirates had originally held their stronghold. It was recently reclaimed by the district due to the eradication of the enemy brigands. It has a threatening coast, where many a ship has crashed against its jagged crags. It's said that the pirates' embargo was stopped by a brave captain who sailed deep into their territory, challenging their entire fleet and winning.
The Obsidian Den: A pub in the Black District that serves a delicious menu of snacks and drinks. It is one of the primary social hubs within the area. Underneath the building, there is said to be a secret gambling room where nearly anything can serve as a betting chip. However, this building is noted for a multitude of secret passages, so not even those who wish to crack down on illegal activity know who exactly is handling the business.
Ashen Avenue: Old and rundown buildings which make up the majority of the Black District. They have an appearance similar to Londinium during the first day of the Apocalypse. It is widely known as the slums of Lune and often associated with a higher rate of crime. Despite this, the citizens are a close-knit community who frequently help each other survive the day-to-day routine.
Noire Alley: The Black District contains a lot of alleyways but this particular alleyway is known to be the largest and most prominent due to its positioning about a few dozen meters directly in front of the Obsidian Den. Said to be where shady individuals tend to gather at night, although no one has really gone to find out without for fear of their own safety. Otherwise during the daytime, it has its fair share of local traffic.
Blackpool: A murky pond in the Black District that some sewerwater drains into, creating a deep pool. Other than the composition, the color is strangely clean for such an environment, possibly due to the presence of marine animals that somehow thrive on waste residue.
Ivory Cathedral: A cathedral consisting of a building with a central tower. It is headed by Archbishop Chavasse, the White Apostle of Ideals. According to legend, it is said to be connected to the Spirit Realms, allowing one to interact with the lands of summoned beasts and familiars. This cathedral's appearance is affected by the hearts of its visitors; it's claimed that to those of wicked hearts, many of its doors and hallways appear invisible.
Pearl Cathedral: A large cathedral building with a design resembling a crown. Archbishop Goss, the White Apostle of Truth, manages this building. It is connected to the Dream Realms, said to function as a observatory of a parallel world. The interior decorations of this cathedral seem unusually modern by Lander technology and tradition, as though it were influenced heavily by the Adventurers' home world.
Marble Valley: A large field named because of the white flowers that dot the region. Small homes and establishments are found within the valley, forming a quaint country life away from the bustling nature of the city.
The White Room: Officially called by the simple name of Lune Penitentiary, this unassuming large building resembling a square white cube is actually a prison that holds some of the more dangerous criminals in Lune. The Royal Guards of the city primarily have rotations here. Due to the appearance of this building, it is often a common term of speech to say that a captured criminal has "gone to the White Room".
