REAL NAME: Jason Hodgins

GAME GENDER: Male
AGE: 22
SEXUALITY: Homosexual
FACE-CLAIM: original, AOSHIKI
PLAYED BY: Mysterious Stranger
RACE: Wolfhair
FACTION: Adventurer
Appearance Standing at five foot nine, Galen looks like he is a character uncomfortable in his own skin. From the top, he has brown, medium length shaggy hair that is not kept in any way, with piercing blue eyes just under that. Pale skin is noticed to have a lot of dirt on it, with some freckles on his cheeks, though it should be noted that the dirt was character aesthetics, not an actual lack of cleanliness on his part. Galen's clothing is usually kept very much as unkempt as his hair, usually seen as being tattered, or dirty, though never actually having the damaged condition. If you were to look at him in any urban setting, it would look like he was lost in the wilderness for a week and just plucked out with no transition. | Personality Jason is a very introverted person. He is extremely shy, especially around strangers or in crowded areas, though he is far from that if he is alone with friends. He initially created Galen as a bit of an outlet. He could be as outgoing as he wanted to be, without the fear of social judgement because he was merely online. When the Apocalypse happened, and he became Galen, things were quite... different. He was an introverted individual playing the role of an Extroverted character. This often gives him the appearance of 'not being comfortable in his own skin' as he constantly feels conflicted. In life, Jason was constantly was paranoid and fearful of every social interaction, fearing judgement and ridicule for his actions, and technically nothing has changed in that aspect, however he has lived in fear his whole life, and from a young age decided that he would not want other people to be intimidated by even the smallest social actions like he was, so he does his best to make everyone else around him feel comfortable, with the mindset of 'if he can do it, others can too.' In the end, though, Jason is a kind hearted individual who just wants friends. He tries to be as unjudgemental as possible, though once he has a grudge, it is hard for him to let go. He always gives people the benefit of the doubt, unless they have already betrayed his trust in one way or another. This happening a lot in Jason past, though, it has made him almost cynical, and paranoid, very much a pessimist. He still tries to be kind to everyone he can, but he rarely expects them to return the favor. |

Biography
Jason Hodgins. Not that impressive of a name, for not that impressive of an individual, at least, if you would ask him yourself. Ask his friends, and you would get a different story. But context is very important, so lets start at the beginning... or at least as far back as is interesting! Lets start when he was starting school, shall we?
Jason lived on a dead end street in the middle of nowhere, where the closest people to his own age were his parents. He didn't have any friends before school started, so he didn't exactly know how to make any. This resulted in him not exactly making many friends. His skill in the social environment was minimal, and he got burned a few too many times in too few a time span. It was a large school with lots of people, and it only made him constantly paranoid. By this definition, it could be said he was always an introvert, but the hard school life only reinforced it with concrete.
As a result, his actual studies were quite fantastic, always getting good grades, even without actually studying. Lacking a social life, and not ever studying, this left him with significantly more free time than most his age, which he turned to gaming. In video games, he was able to have a peudo-social interaction, without fear of being judged. It compensated for what he was too afraid to do in real life, and it almost became an obsession. Some may view games as mind-rotting or something for rejects, but to Jason... it was happiness. Simple as that.
However, in his desire to actually be happy, he neglected a lot of his real life. His excellent memory became cluttered and disjointed the older he got, causing his grades to start to fall off in middle school, and in high school he was only scraping by. His memory was always his defining feature, as he could remember the most random of details, but forget important things. What he always seemed to remember were things involving video games, often times remembering vast amounts of complicated information that most people have to keep notes for.
What few friends he did have were good ones, ones that he didn't mind hanging out with. They weren't necessarily gamers as well, but they could appreciate the hobby enough for him to feel like he wasn't being judged. Into adult hood, he was careful not to let his gaming habits interfere with the workplace, but he always had trouble finding a job either way. He ended up getting lucky and landing a warehouse position a short distance from his home... about a week before the Apocalypse.
Truth be told, he actually wasn't a big fan of MMO's in general, a they all felt 'Same-y' to him, and they were on that threshold of "Its a game" and "Crowded social interaction", and it made him nervous. But, a friend purchased a code for Elder Tales for him, and at the very least, he wouldn't be so rude as to let it go to waste. It was about three days since he created his account and the incident, all three of those days being work days, so he barely got past the tutorial level when he found himself in the game, playing a character meant to be who he wished he could be, rather than who he was. Needless to say, it was quite jarring.

CLASS SKILLS
Main Class: Shaman
Summon Shikigami
Tier I Skill
The Shaman calls forth a shikigami, a humanoid familiar spirit, in a solid form. The appearance of a Shikigami varies from Shaman to Shaman, but typically they resemble humans with pronounced animal-like features similar to Fox Tails that normally wear Eastern traditional clothing. They are normally said to have a personality and body representative of the Shaman's inner self. This means that while some Shikigami will resemble their masters, others may look vastly different and may even be of the opposite gender. For Shamans who employ more than one Shikigami, each particular Shikigami will still look distinct but will seem to be like siblings. As a Shikigami is representative of the true self, it can speak and understand the languages that the Shaman may speak. Shikigami are usually used in a support role, with tasks ranging from off-tanking to scouts to support DPS. There is a wide range of shikigami that a Shaman can summon, and they last for 5 minutes. In the original game, shikigami were treated as bonus content for players, with little to no practical use. However, after the Catastrophe, shikigami now share the same sensations with their masters, allowing shikigami to serve reconnaissance roles in battle. Of course, there are shikigami that are well-loved by many as mascots. This skill has a casting time of 5 seconds. Only one Shikigami may be summoned at a time.

Roleplay Class: Animal Trainer
Level 1 Skill
Scout: The Animal Trainer attempts to recruit a monster to their cause in order to create a temporary partner. This is often done by approaching the monster without startling or aggravating it. If performed successfully, a tamed monster will fight by the Trainer's side for a few minutes before control is lost and the monster returns to the environment. Certain situations might make this duration last longer or shorter; acts of kindness toward the tamed monster will make it stick around for longer, while excessive demand will make the Trainer quickly lose favor with the monster. Only one monster can be tamed at a time at the early levels.

Crafting Class: Chef
Iron Stomach: Not even food poisoning can stop a dedicated chef! This skill can be toggled, allowing chefs to become immune to status debuffs caused by drinks and food. They also passively recover from sickness status effects twice as quickly.
Picnic: One of the joys of cooking is the ability to share it with others. When this skill is toggled and the Chef summons a food item, it is duplicated among all party members. Duplicated food items share the same effect, but disappear after a minute if not eaten before then. This skill has a cooldown time of 30 seconds after each activation.
