Crowded locations was the bane of Galen's existance. He hated crowds, he hated being stared at, he was afraid of judgement, and he was so socially awkward that he couldn't even speak properly on a regular basis. But, he still found himself in the Game-world of London. He'd never been to London, as it happened, no where close, so he had no true frame-of-reference in which to judge the accuracy, though he figured the overgrowth made it look inaccurate anyways. In any way, he was here for a reason: After having experimented out in the woods for a while, he found himself low on supplies, which required him to buy them. Without much money, he was going around to the different shops, checking the prices first, in order to figure out a budget. If by sheer luck he was able to afford everything on his mental list, then he would go back and buy it, while if he didn't, then he wouldn't have to take the time to figure it out, in secluded peace of one of the abandoned buildings. Some may think going back into a crowd twice would be counter productive for the introverts desire to keep from socializing, he figured it would be more efficient. To check prices, he merely needed to show up, and vanish, without talking to anyone. While he was anxious in the crowds, until someone started paying heavy attention to him, he would be able to tolerate it.
This meant that, if things went as planned and he had enough gold, he would make a circle, have a very simple exchange where he made a purchase, and vanished. If he didn't have the appropriate funds for his shopping list, then he would be able to figure it out away from the crowds, without standing in a shop, awkwardly trying to decide if he should make the purchase. God, that would be absolutely horrendous, standing, everyone staring at him, waiting for him to make a decision, having busy lives and trying to make their own purchases, only to be stalled by this random, dirty shaman who clearly didn't know what he was doing, getting mad at him for wasting such valuable time, for them, and the shop keeper, who could have been making so many purchases during the wait. God forbid he decided that he wouldn't have the funds only to waste so much time with everyone for literally no purpose and that would just make everyone furious with him. They wouldn't care his reasoning, he had been such a useless individual who was a waste. Each and every person there would see him as being a completely pointless waste of existence, his only purpose being to make their lives difficult, when they clearly had much more important things to do. Even those doing absolutely nothing but killing time would be doing something more important than the shaman who had to take ten minutes to decide on a completely pathetic purchase. He was a parasite that was just going around ruining everyone's good time. Thats all he was, just a pathetic, useless parasite, who only knew how to make things difficult for everyone else. He was a useless, moronic, slug of a person, who's existance is so vile that even calling him a slug was an insult to the mollusk, as slugs even had a purpose in nature, and even though it is a small one it was a thousand times more relevant than his!
He was just-
Stop.
Galen took a deep breath as he found himself nearly on the verge of tears, clutching his ears, his heart pounding. Too many times he found his mind wandering down that dark path, doubting himself, insulting himself, putting himself down so hard that it might as well have been a burial... This is why it was hard for him to be in social interactions. He could only see the worst possible outcome of anything, and just feel the hatred that others might feel for him, weather it was valid or not. The Wolfhair had to take a deep, slow breath, rubbing his eyes to dismiss any gathered moisture. He didn't know how long he had been standing there, but it was best he moved. The first round through the stores would be unevenetful, going as planned, though his episode earlier making him more anxious than normal. What it ended with was him back where he started, near the edge of town, behind an overgrown building, he just sat there, forcing himself to breath deeply as he worked on his budget.

Your dream is where your heart is ❤ Surviving the undead and a kobold ambush is one thing- fighting your way through busy Londinium streets however was a nightmare. It was often that the shopping stalls were packed with adventurers as of late seeking to gain power. Many were gearing up to head to the new town that just opened up, the Lune Seaport. It was a mystery to most since no one had reported anything back to Vylbrand about it just yet. If she got a move on she would be among the first of her guild to step foot on it's soil. After gathering several provisions the foxtail made her way out onto the streets where she decided to head back home. Only then did she see something strange while she was wandering. There was a man standing there clutching his chest as if he was lost in time. Tilting her head to the side she tried to decide whether or not she should approach him and ask. To her it looked like the signs of an anxiety attack- she knew due to her mothers condition. Deciding that it was best not to ask about it, Lu decided to tail him for a bit. Perhaps by following him she could figure out what had this other person so worked up. Yet all he did was do some normal shopping that would have put anyone else to sleep. She was pretty confused by this point for sure. While she understood what it was that happened she could not figure what the big deal was. In this world there was absolutely nothing to fear except that someone finally found a permanent death for them. Following quietly back to the overgrown building, she decided to stop being a creeper. Clearing her throat she stepped out and smiled at the wolf hair before her. Bowing slightly she straightened herself out and looked him directly in the eyes. "Excuse me. I couldn't help but notice that you seemed to be all alone out here. This is one of my favorite hang out spots, do you mind if I join you?" she lied without a single muscle flinching. Her true motive beyond being curious was a friendly one. All she wanted to do was chat as she had a lack of that lately. Between all the fighting and attempted crafting she figured she could use the break. "I promise I won't be a bother. My name is Luiniel, by the way. My friends just call me Lu or Lulu." she said. Galen sighed in frustration as his suspicions proved fruitful, as he could only seem to afford about 2/3 of the items. That wasn't bad, of course, meaning he could get most of the supplies that he needed, but there was still that third that he was missing, and it was fairly important that he had all of them. He was really careful, making sure which items were important, and which were frivolous, or situation, but even with the list as trimmed of fat as he could, it still was too much to do. He was glad he decided to take the route he did, else he would have ran into.... 'No, don't dwell on it, or else it will consume you again.' He thought, shaking his head as though to physically throw the thought out of his head. He needed to focus on this. A small piece of parchment and an ink quill he had purchased was pulled from his inventory as he tried to do some math. He was no scribe, but he could still do simple stuff. He wouldn't finish the list, though as something would make one of his ears stand on end.
Someone had noticed him. His breath caught in his throat as he heard her speak. This was one of her favorite hang out spots? Oh no, he had just ignorantly wandered into someone's personal space, invading it and acting like it was his own. His mind started screaming, what should he do? What could he do? He could apologize, but what would that hollow, pointless act be at this point in time? He almost started spiraling again, until she spoke again. Her be a bother to him? But he was the one who had invaded her hangout, not the other way around. Why wasn't she mad at him? It was near the end of this long mental thought process that he realized that he hadn't been breathing, holding his breath, staring at her in terror, his face having started to grow red.
Turning away, he would find himself coughing and gasping for breath, as he almost had to manually search for the words in his head. "U-uhm... N-no bother at all. If this, uhm, place is yours, Er, if this is where you like to, uhm, hangout, then I can leave... I wasn't doing anything important." He tried to explain, rolling up the cheap parchment, and already stuffing it away, though he was too fearful to find the strength to stand. "Oh, right, uhm, my name is... Galen." He added in at the end, realizing she had introduced herself, when he had not, and didn't want to throw in another social taboo ontop of the growing list that was weighing heavily upon his psyche. He just looked at her, wondering what she was going to do next. That dark part of him half expected her to start yelling at him, and berating him, despite her previous kind responses. The thought wouldn't leave, though, stuck like a black haze in his mind. He could feel his heart starting to pump harder and harder, as his mouth got dry, forcing him to swallow heavily. He just really hoped things didn't go like he expected them too.

Your dream is where your heart is ❤ Time seemed to stand still as she watched him start to panic. Perhaps she had taken things too far by teasing him the way she had. Deciding that enough was enough, she smiled even more and shook her head at him. "There is no need to panic, I was joking. I've never been here before, not even when this was a game." she admitted with a smirk. It was becoming more and more apparent that he was not very good with social situations. Poor guy, this new world they were in relied heavily upon interaction with others to get things accomplished. "You should consider breathing." she said as his face turned red. Any longer than that and he would be taking a one way trip to the cathedral all on his own. Reaching out she tried to pat his shoulder to reassure him that everything was alright here. There was no way to tell what sort of reaction he might have to that either but she started this so she was trying to calm it down. Dropping onto her butt, Lu leaned back onto her palms. "You don't have to leave, don't worry about it. I actually only came over because I thought you could use someone to chat with. Maybe I was mistaken though?" she said looking up at him now. She was painfully bored right now and this was the only thing she could find that might occupy some of her time. Perhaps she would even add to her friends list, she was always looking for people to adventure with. "Nice to meet you, Galen. What brings you out and about on this busy Londinium afternoon?" she asked. Galen - 280 - :x - Listening to a Comedy Central Roast MADE BY VEL OF GS

The wolfhair gulped nervously as he listened to her. Breathing seemed to somehow not be a priority for his body as he tried to force a smile as though it was humorous in some way. "Sorry." He would add in, slowly trying to take a deep, slow breath, forcing himself to breath, if at least semi-regularly. The smile couldn't be much more forced, though, as he found his hands balled into fists, if mostly out of fear. He had no idea why she was here, or her purposes, despite saying she just wanted to talk. But, wouldn't it be incredibly rude to just turn away a kind jesture?
"No!" He would blurt out, suddenly, before pausing to realize just what he said. "Wait, I-I mean, No, you're mistaken- NOT mistaken, I mean." He continued fumbling over his words, as he found his breath short and rapid, squeezing his fists, his whole body seeming to flinch as he forced himself to stop, taking a deep breath, and holding it, before letting it out. "I'm sorry I'm just... Not very good with, uhm... Socializing." He tried to explain, before meshing his fingers together as he brought his knees to his chest. "I-It's nothing against you, I promise, just... I'm bad at talking with people." He said, his voice quivering.
She's just pretending, she doesn't care. You're just a distraction.
His body tensed again as he tried to ignore the scratching at the back of his mind. "Uhm... I'm a bit of... An amature chef... I wasn't all that good at cooking, but figured the Chef Subclass would be handy. I'm still not all that good, so I've been mostly experimenting... Just trying to get my level up so I could do more things that I'm aware of." He tried to explain, still forcibly regulating his breathing. "Unfortunately, I'm not... much of a fighter, especially solo, so I don't quite have enough money to get everything I need. I was... Trying to figure out what I could and couldn't afford." He finished, forcing another grin.
This... couldn't hurt, right? She asked him, so he answered... That meant he wasn't wasting her time, or boring her, or... stop. Another deep breath as he did his best to ignore the thoughts. He hated this looming fear of social contact with everyone... but was too scared to do anything about it. They always say you need to face your fears, but they wouldn't be fears if it was easy. And people were a special kind of dangerous. Its not like a dog where you could find a tame one, you can never figure out what people were thinking, or what they were going to do, or why, they have their own motives and their own desires, much more important desires and things to do than bother with some useless whelp like him, who would just get in the way and-
He forced himself to swallow hard drowning the thought out with the sound of swallowing. He didn't need to keep thinking these thoughts.

Your dream is where your heart is ❤ It was unfortunate that there was no one here who could really help him, at least no one obvious. His real world struggles followed him when others were cured of theirs. Such was the pain of dealing with the human mental well being over the physical. While it made her sad to see him so conflicted trying to speak to her, she tried her best to remain optimistic that it would get better for him. Perhaps her presence here was too much for him at the moment which ruled out questing. Normally she would invite people to come questing with her but he seemed a bit unhinged. There had to be something she could do to calm him down right? Well no, probably not, usually someone had to manage on their own in this situation if it was going to last. Sighing inwardly she waited until he balanced himself out enough to talk. Once he was calm enough to speak he went on about being a chef. Her ears perked at the mention of cooking, in this world that was a valuable skill indeed. "I should have gone chef myself. If only I had known that most food was going to taste like soggy crackers." she said with a defeated sigh. "The first time I bit into some stew I was quite disappointed with what I got." she laughed. This world was full of those moments, epic things turned to disappointment. Tilting her head at him when he mentioned not being combat savvy she seemed confused. "How did you manage in an MMO before if you're not much of a fighter?" she asked seeming shocked. That was the best way to farm your gear and cash to get by. She couldn't imagine not being able to farm and grind for hours to aquire what she needed. Perhaps she should take some time out of her day to show him the ropes, what to farm in the beginning and how. "It's not because you don't know how, is it? Like.. you know where to go and what to farm in the beginning right? If you ever needed someone to take a few hits for you, I got you covered." she said pointing to herself with her thumb. After the conversation had continued for a few more moments, it seemed to be a bit easier to talk, though not 'easy' by any means. Though, she managed to a legitimate chuckle out of him when she admitted to the stew problem. "Yeah... I was still in the tutorial stage when I was still in here, and so I was allowed to re-select my subclasses at the end. I wasn't thinking much of it until I took a bite out of a sandwich..." His words were slower, as though he needed to deliberately choose each one, but the stuttering had stopped, and he seemed more at ease talking about the game than anything else. His fists slowly unclenched, shaking a bit from how hard he had been squeezing them, without even realizing it, though letting go was still a conscious effort. He also tried shifting his legs to a more criss-cross position than a near fetal one.
"I, uhm... Well, its not that I don't know how to fight. I do, but..." He bit his lip, as he started to feel embarrassed. "I didn't think to re-spec my skills, and I've still got a full support build. I'm a shaman class, you see.." He trailed off, his cheeks visibly getting red. This was more than needlessly putting himself down, these were legitimate issues with his character build. "I've got two defensive skills, the Damage interception and the Prayer of Restoration..." He looked down on the ground for a moment as he tried to gather the courage to finish what he started. "The last one was 'Summon shikigami'. I thought the skill would be a good aid, since it would give a good extra body in combat, so it was taking blows instead of me... I didn't realize the steep cost. It just chews through massive percentages of my mana, so I might be able to take down a slime, but then I will be completely out of mana." He explained. "The shields are nice, but the slimes don't do enough damage fast enough before the break on their own, and I end up spending more time healing myself than doing damage... I can't solo. I just... I can't. I spend too much time coming in and out of rest areas that... Its kinda defeating." It was always easier to talk once he got started, it was getting started that was the most difficult, but the words themselves were painful, and he found himself choking near the end, almost like he was going to cry.
That was when she started making the suggestion of helping him... Really? She would help him? It really did seem like fiction that someone would just help him like that, without him having to bribe or beg, or offer them all of the loot... Back when this was a game, having a character do the repetitive tasks of slow-grinding, until he was useful wasn't a big deal, but the act of him constantly failing over and over again sat like a weight on his shoulders. And yet she was willing to help him. That dark, toxic part of his mind tried to tell him it was a trap, and a part of him believed it. It was so hard to trust other people, yet he wanted to give it a try. He wanted to believe that not everyone was evil... most of them, sure, but not everyone. After all, he was willing to help others at his own expense, and he couldn't be the only one, right... right?
"Why would you want to help me? You're a much higher level, I would just slow you down..." It almost hurt to ask, like he was insulting her, the one person who had been nice to him after so much time, like he was calling into question her integrity as an individual, but he had become so distrusting of others that it was pure reflex. The wolfhair regretted it the moment it came out of his mouth, but he felt like back-tracking would only result in causing more issues in the long run, stumbling over himself and trying to come up with an excuse on the spot for why he had said something so rude and uncalled for. But... nothing came. He was just left, sitting there, the position significantly more relaxed than previously, but still pretty tense given her own very laid-back position. But maybe he would be lucky, maybe she wouldn't take it as the insult he expected her to. Maybe she would understand his own hesitation to random acts of kindness, and not take offense. Maybe, though luck was hardly on his side.

Your dream is where your heart is ❤ A newbie?! In the world of Elder Tale it seemed that encountering someone who had never played before was a rarity. Normally anyone you ran into was from either the American or Japanese servers. This was a strange experience for her indeed, one she thought to mention to her guild. Perhaps they could do something to get Galen started on his journey to being a stronger adventurer or even craftsmen. Thinking on it she realized that she was no longer in the present and had to snap herself out of it with a shake of her head. "What luck that is, oh man! If only I had known that the chef skill would eventually become the most valuable crafting class." she said sighing. As she did so she fell over onto her back and stared up into the cloudy sky. There were a lot of things she would have done different if she was given the chance. Now she was stuck here in this world where there was nothing to do but fight for power and think on your regrets from your previous life. The last bit was made worse given that she had experienced death in a previous battle and the consequences of it. So he was a team player for sure given what he said. All he needed to get started was someone to assist him in powering up for new skills. That was a simple matter since she was high enough level to easily assist him in grinding low level mobs. The question was did he truly wish to do so? From what the interface said he seemed more focused on his other classes which had a bit of value in this world. Combat classes did not have to be the main focus now that this world was more life like. "I see your problem. However if you want you can add me to your friends list. I have no problem with trying to help people out with their leveling. I believe that those of us who have the strength to help someone else out should do so." she added with a smirk. Of course she was a bit of a goody two-shoes but she didn't care. She enjoyed being the heroine in most situations and always bet on the hero. "I'm usually not too busy and I almost never say no regardless of how odd the request may be." she said. After that he seemed to be somewhat calmer but she couldn't help but feel stressed by his insecurities. It was a lot of work trying to reassure someone like him. "It doesn't matter how fast you make it to the top if you didn't reach your hand out to those behind you and pull them up. It's a hollow victory if you didn't use your strength to help those who need it." she said. Her tone was serious- perhaps too much for the situation at hand. It was clear the type of player she disliked the most- the highly geared snob who thought himself above others. Galen's ears perked up curiously as he listened to some of her choices of words. In all honesty, they weren't as different of ideals as he held himself to. He was always bullied and pushed around when he was a kid, so he wanted to make sure that, given every opportunity, he would attempt to better those around him, even if it hurt him in the process. He would always be the person to push someone out of the way of a runaway shopping cart or something. Never had the opportunity to push someone from a car, but he would probably do it anyways... This usually forced himself into a social interaction, but most of the times they thanked him, he said it was of no issue, and would depart before much could be said.
Here in the world of Elder Tales would probably be no different. Should the situations be reversed, he probably would be doing the same thing as her, in desire of making sure someone wouldn't just be left alone and scared, unable to help themselves. He hated feeling like that, and didn't want anyone else to feel that way so long as he could help it. Galen found himself chewing on his lip in thought to her proposal. Having someone assist him in combat was exactly what he needed as a support character. Anything bar another support class would help, and he knew her to be a Samurai, which meant she would be just the kind of support he needed.
"I.." He seemed conflicted, just that one syllable, that one letter, gave out a lot of emotion. "I think... I would like that." He would finally say, having a smile that was significantly less forced than previous attempts. He was finally able to convince that dark part of his mind to be quiet, that she was someone who wanted to be helpful, like he was. "I want to be better at Combat... I know I'll never be someone who could solo a dungeon or something, but I at least want to be useful. I just haven't been able to fight anything. So, I did what I could, and worked on my subclasses while I figured out what to do." He tried to explain, scratching the back of his head. It had been a while since the Catastrophe and he certainly wasn't going to be the kind of person to hide and cry the whole time.
He opened his interface for a moment, before realizing that... he didn't have anyone on his friends list. He had been brought into this world before meeting anyone, and now that it wasn't just a game, he had been too frightened to really talk to anyone to make friends. He didn't know what to expect, really, when he held his finger over the icon, but he forced his fingers to move, dragging her name over to his friends list to add her to it. She was... Nice. That was a word to describe her. She was a nice person, and he liked her. She wanted to help for the sake of helping, she was an example that not everyone was 'in it for themselves,' that other people like seeing other people happy, with their happiness being reward enough.

Your dream is where your heart is ❤ Her words had a rather obvious impact on the shaman as he seemed to be quite deep in thought about what she said. To her it just made sense that she was doing the right thing. That was what she was taught to do in the real world by her father. At all times she was to honor a code and to deviate from that path meant the loss of ones honor. Without that honor she was less than dirt; she might as well end herself as she destroyed herself already at that point. A harsh view point but to her and her father it meant everything. The power of her words managed to persuade him that she was a safe bet. Overall she was pleased as she found meaning with each person she managed to help in this world. It brought peace to her mind to keep busy in this way until they found a way to leave. Despite how amazing this world was to her and how antisocial she used to be she did in fact want to leave. "I'm glad to hear you say that. You can never have too many friends on your list." she said with a chuckle. Honestly the power of a well geared and leveled shaman was probably a good thing to have as a friend too. Once he reached that level she foresaw many misadventures with her new friend. She was currently planning one now for her other friends. Technically she was planning an "adventure" but they turned into misadventures almost nintey percent of the time. "If you hang with me we'll turn you into a strong solo player as well in no time. All we have to do is get you some more skills and a bit of gear." she said. It was surprising what a few skills and some knowledge on how to use them let you do in this world. She was a decently low level samurai still herself but she managed to kick butt whenever she had to fight.. for the most part. She had only died once so far which she figured was a good kill to death ratio for now. "Have any friends playing this server or are you all by yourself?" she asked. Galen - 378 - Sorry for the wait. Galen's breathing had resumed to being done subconsciously, which was probably best for everyone, as forgetting to breath really is not good for any party. Upon the Shaman's face was a nervous smile, and while he was still timid, it had become easier to be around her than other people. This was the norm for him, at least, as he was absolutely terrified of meeting new people under any circumstance, but once he was alone with friends, he was much more open, almost like a completely different person. There was a falter, though, when she mentioned the friends list, looking at the interface to just see her name on it, and nobody else. "Yeah... can never have too many..." He would mumble before shaking his head a moment to clear his thoughts.
"No, I'm just here by myself. I did have a friend in the States who convinced me to start playing. He said he would join me after I got through the tutorial but... Then all of this happened. I never got to tell him my character name, and he never gave me his." He explained, clearly saddened. He had absolutely nothing in this world to hold onto. No friends or anything. Well, didn't. Technically, now he had Lu, but there was that defeatist part of him that didn't expect it to last very long, but the determined part of him wanted to hold into it while he could. He just needed to be careful not to pester her or something to push the samurai away. "I really doubt I could be a solo player as a Shaman. They don't have enough direct combat skills, especially early level." He tried to explain. He had effectively defeated himself to the role of support, which meant he needed to constantly be in a party. Sure, he might be able to warm himself up to be in a party of one or two people, but god forbid it was a full party. He could never see himself participating in a Full Raid, as he would probably just have a heart attack from anxiety.
Galen looked over at Lu for a moment in thought. "So... what do I need to do first?" Galen was no stranger to video games, having spent most of his life on them, just not on MMO's. He figured some basics would apply. With Londinium being the starting area, there would be a nearby location in which he could grind on low level monsters until he was high enough to move to the next one. But apparently MMO's had their own meta with how to do things. While Slimes might be the easiest monsters, he remembered that there was a game where there were level 10 monsters that you were supposed to farm on from the beginning, and then constantly skipped levels. Things like that are why he usually avoided MMO's but he just HAD to listen to his friend and try this game.... No no, there was no need to blame him for it. How would he have known any of this was possible? A very very small part of Galen hoped that he might be able to find his friend, somehow, that they might eventually bump into each other... But he had no hopes of that actually succeeding, especially because he was on the american server.

Your dream is where your heart is ❤ From the tone of his voice she could tell that he was in fact all alone on this server. She could sympathize with him as when she started the same was true for her. Lu came from the Yamato server where she had a guild, friends and even family playing the game with her. Now she was in a rag tag guild full of people who were just trying to get by to the best of their abilities. There was no reason to truly feel bad for him though, he was not dead- no he would find friends faster than even she could predict. "That is unfortunate. I understand how that must feel, I am not from this server originally. My family uprooted us and moved us to the United Kingdom but I am originally from the Japanese servers." she admitted with a gentle smile. Here in this strange new world she felt like she was the "Gaijin" as they called it. The outsider, she was surrounded by people she did not know and customs she had to learn every day. Many people did not understand how things worked in this world. Now they had true freedom and were partially seperated from the strict rules of the system. Even a Shaman could gain the power to play alone now if they knew how to build their skills and she believed she could help him there. "If you cross class into some basic adventurer skills you could combine them with your main class skills to great effect. They might even allow you to survive where you thought you needed help." she offered. Information went a long way in this game, if you could apply it right. Then, almost instantly, he went from being shy to being determined it seemed. Opening her menu's to add him to her list as well, she beamed brightly and sat up. What now indeed- she supposed they would need to go hunting for some monsters to get him started. There was no low level duo dungeon they could manage but perhaps she could now solo one of the lower tier dungeons. She pondered that thought for a moment unsure whether or not she wanted to risk him dying on his first venture out of the city. "I suppose to start we need to grind some monsters in the field for you. You will need a decent level before the real fun can begin. I think if we can get you to about ten or so I can duo the first low level dungeon with you eliminating the need for an entire group." she said with a smirk. Dragging her thumb over the tip of her nose she chuckled deviously as if she was up to no good. "I'll make sure you have all of the adventure you can handle!" she exclaimed as she patted her katana. "That's... That is quite a distance to go, from Japan to Europe..." He would admit, finding himself scratching at his ears for no real reason. He had always been relatively in the same place, so he couldn't imagine being uprooted and dropped on the other side of the world. It made him sick even thinking about it. But he wouldn't have too much time to dwell on it, luckily, as the subject changed.
"I never thought about throwing in the adventurer skills..." The Shaman explained. He was always big on efficiency, knowing how short term gains can oftentimes lead to hilariously pathetic late games. He had prepared this character for full support, and if he had grabbed any offensive skills, that would be a support skill he wouldn't have access to late game. Sure, he could defend himself, but when push came to shove, if a party is looking for a support, they're going to look for the person who is the best at support. If they want damage, they'll look for a weapons specialist, not a shaman. This wasn't the game, anymore, though, so being able to have damage output might be a better idea, but old habits die hard, so Galen was still looking how to still be a good support as well.
It was about then that Lu suggested grinding on the low level monsters. Technically it would work, though her own progress would be a snails crawl. That wasn't the point though, because she was looking for his progress, not her own. The Wolf Hair needed to remember that. This was a kindness to him, not to her. Not that she didn't deserve any kind of kindness, but she was putting effort for him. Smiling softly, Galen had to put some more effort than he would have expected into pushing himself into a standing position, dusting himself off, though he still had some 'dirt' left on as aesthetics from the creation process. "Level 10 seems like it's really far away... I wouldn't want to keep you for too long." The Wolf Hair began, biting his lip as he tried to find the right words. "If you want, or need, to leave in the middle, because you had something else you wanted to do, I wouldn't mind." He explained, his hands folded behind his back, fidgeting as he spoke. While he was leaps and bounds from forgetting to breath a few minutes ago, he was clearly still nervous about the whole concept. Just significantly less so.
Galen took a look towards the exit portal for town. In truth, it wasn't very far away, but this area was the opposite direction of anything important, so nobody came over this way. That would be where they were headed if the Samurai decided that it was better to get started sooner or later, but at the same time, he wouldn't be against waiting. After all, he wouldn't want to impose in any way. Looking back, he would just try to put on a friendly smile. Sure, she was helping him, but that didn't mean she needed to be inconvenienced in the process. Even when people were going out of their way to help him, Galen needed to make sure he was making things comfortable for them too.
