Suddenly, when I finally logged on after Novasphere Pioneers released, I was flung into the shoes of my character, where Elder Tales is the new reality. I was in shock, the game I was using as my gateway to normal social life suddenly became a prison, and from the looks of it all the other people were dealing with this too. Frustrated with the current state of affairs I decided to destroy some local monsters to help myself and take my mind off of this horrid situation. I decided to head to the Savill Flower Grove to destroy some weak enemies and immediately started my progress towards the Windsor Greatwood on the road. Finally at the area I wanted to go into I remembered that it is hard to kill any monster solo unless overleveled and I went into the status screen to check my inventory, which worked exactly like the game I had known, yet somehow alien. While considering what little I had I noticed a horridly made puppet, and then I found my solution to being solo for now, Puppeteering. Since I was solo and still wanted to be able to attack, and decided to use it's control bar in one hand, however clunky it would be, with a somewhat useful Grimoire this grinding may just work out without a death. Finally I had realized what I had forgotten, death..... in real life there was no escape from it but in a game you could respawn infinitely at the loss of durability and experience, but I had read about something like this in a manga recently..... whatever the case, I decided to absolutely avoid dangerous situations whenever possible. Within this grove I spotted a few non-sentient slime monsters and decided on a quick plan, having my puppet attack these monsters for a small while, giving it sufficient agro for me to freely attack with my magic. I had my puppet clumsily rush in, getting those slimes' attention, unfortunately with little actual damage on them. I decided to use Magi Lightning, Grand Fall to properly toast these little monsters and targeted the center one for maximum splash effect, and thinking the puppet would be able to tank it because it is inanimate and made of wood I fired then and there after the casting time. The result was worse than expected, it did do as intended and significantly hurt those slimes and it even killed the center one, but it also burnt my puppet, significantly decreasing it's durability. Deciding enough is enough I auto-attacked the rest of them to death with my puppet, and we soon won this battle (Afternote: Do not use Electricity on burnable material, It may cause electrical fires). With recent events in mind I decided to draw agro before using this skill, or right when combat is initiated to get it clear of my puppet, finally a tiny soundproof plan which I can use. Drawing back from last battle I realized that I just focused on what I wanted to do, say the word, and it happened (Exception of Magi Lightning, Grand Fall for casting animation) which helped me gain more insight into it. I finally thought up a theory for why we still have status screens, which may sound a bit cliché but it is probably because of some universal device that monitors progression, health, and mana of all living beings in this world, but it still doesn't explain the inventory.... which suddenly is perfectly explained via teleportation, with a sort of holding place for all items in any inventory marked with their owners. Bah, what was I thinking then? enough with the philosophical and inter-dimensional thought, back to what I did in that grove. After killing that first group and steadily modifying my tactics for solo & puppet use I began to go on a rampage on all of those weak level 1-2 monsters.... once I learned what I was doing they didn't stand a chance, but then I ran into a sort of garden snake that was A: Predatory. And B: Higher level than me. This snake immediately aggro'd my Puppet and had a lower level snake with him, just my luck. Thankfully I had the foresight to equip this character with ambidextrous and that one skill helped a small bit with my damage and puppet maneuverability, which would be horrid otherwise replaced by barely acceptable considering my level. Finally after I believe an intense 3 minutes my puppet broke and the monster steadily encroached onto me, with the threat of death looming over me I developed a crackshot plan. "Only the top half of my puppet broke so I still should be able to control it's feet," I thought, so I took my control bar and had my puppet race right into this little boss monster, which thankfully was enough agro to get back onto the puppet, and with renewed vigor I casted Magi Lightning, Grand Fall on that monster, and wouldn't you know it, It just happened to be raining. I cast my spell and it struck dead on, turning that monster and my puppet into ashes, giving me a passed heart attack, emotional shock, and some more gold. With that I couldn't take it anymore and used the call to home spell or whatever it was called and replaced my puppet, bought a room, ...... and had to go through the worst food EVER, I mean WHAT IS THIS, how can it look exactly like the food, have the same ingredients as the food, yet be UTTERLY TASTELESS. With that aggravating thought in mind I went into the room I rented for the night and morning and slept a disturbed sleep, to only repeat the same thing again every day after that for quite the long time.
