Ryth had finally found something he could do reasonably well on. he was going to help craft cutlery for some large banquet that he would most likely hear the grandness of just to feel jealous of. he didn't care though since this was an opportunity for him to get somewhere in this world and so he would create as much as he could to make this job worthwhile. walking up to the forge he started up the fire with a little difficulty as he hadn't used tinder before but soon he got the forge blazing with heat. grabbing one of the alloy ingots he placed it in the borning forge to heat it up so it would be malleable to separate into the appropriate sizes for crafting into the items. after it was sufficiently heated he grabbed the wedge from the rack as well as the hammer beside it and started to wedge the metal apart. he had to heat the metal and beat it back together a few times as he made mistakes causing for a re-casting but he did get the remaining metal smaller and smaller until he separated it to the right sizes and left them to cool. grabbing the metal he wouldn't be immediately be using he put them on the bench and grabbed the tongs again and placed the remaining metal piece beside the fire so it wouldn't heat too fast. once it was sufficiently heated he grabbed it and started to hammer it into two separate ends, one was very thin and had a curved edge while the other was relatively thicker and made to be a handle. once the basics was done Ryth started to sharpen the knife on the grindstone until it was relatively sharp but he made sure it was blunt enough to not be used as an actual weapon, causing him to redo it a few times. once that was completed he lightly hammered the handle until it was easy to hold before letting it cool and place it to the side

completing that basic piece of cutlery, Ryth wiped the sweat off of his brow and looked at his creation. honestly, it sucked but he was only a beginner at smithing so that should be expected. it still felt bad that his work would be shown with so many better pieces of cutlery though that thought process was quickly cut off as he brought back his mind to not caring about what other people think that he desperately tried to maintain. grabbing another piece of metal from the counter he set out to place it near the fire . once the metal had changed colour to a dull red he pulled it out of the rim of the fire after a few failed tries; he then set about with the small hammer to lengthening the metal but leaving a small bulb at the end which he would use as the head of the spoon. for about ten times he made the handle too long forcing him to bend the metal back on itself and start all over again which was beginning to wear on his patience but he finally made it around the right size for a spoon. now though came the hard part. he grabbed a hemispheric piece of wood and started to bash the metal on to it so it can bend around it. the first time was a complete failure as he had it stretch over the front but not any of the sides making it look like a rod with a large bend in it. his second try was more successful as he got it to bend around the wood but made it so large that it seemed more like a soup ladle than an actual spoon. it took him twenty times to get a respectable looking spoon with a few sharp edges and imbalanced and but he finally made a spoon. he spent ten more minutes smoothing out the handle and head as well as making the metal less lumpy from bad forging before he let the spoon cool and set it beside the fork.

taking the last piece of metal, Ryth proceeded to do similar to what he did with the previous piece. placing it beside the fire so it would not heat up too quickly for him to get out of the forge with his over sized tongs. as it heated Ryth sat back and stared at the metal slowly heat up in the forge and thought back to how irritating it was to forge a simple and crappy fork and spoon. he honestly hoped he would get better and the work less boring as he continued to create these crafts. at the time this thought process ended he waked up and took the metal out of the forge, only slightly overheated for his purposes. after having it cool to an appropriate temperature he began again to beat the metal into a thin and relatively long handle with a thick bulb on the end for the head of another spoon. he did it quicker this time to his relief but that was short lived as he realised that he would have to use the wood block again to make the head of the spoon which instantly filled him with dread. honestly, he had used it once and he was starting to dread using it? his patience was slipping. after this mental struggle he grabbed the handle with the tongs and placed the head near the fire for a minute so it would be sufficiently malleable and started to hammer the bulb into the head of a spoon which surprisingly took half the time even though it looked a little worse than his previous one did. and like before he reheated the whole thing and refined it so it would be relatively presentable before letting it cool and setting it with the other silverware.

Ryth sat back as he finished his third craft, not breathing heavily or even just hot; he was simply too bored to continue at that moment. he looked around for another piece of metal to make some more cutlery out of and saw that they were not on any of the benches. sighing he went into his inventory and got out the ingots, placing them on one of the benches before he took one and placed it in the fire to get it ready to be split using a hammer and wedge. it didn't take long for the metal to heat up enough to be split, allowing him to quickly get to splitting the ingot into three parts. the splitting took about as much time as it did last time, causing Ryth to become irritated again. once they had cooled he took one of the small pieces of metal and heated them up to the best temperature for being crafted.... approximately and set on creating another knife because he dreaded making a fork and he had enough of spoons. he quickly made the knife blade this time to his relief but the handle was a little more difficult than last time due to the size of the blade of this knife. after a few retries he got the handle relatively good and placed it with the other silverware.

the tediousness was really getting to Ryth now but he wanted to get the by SalePlus"> rewards from completing the sizeable commission so he started his next project. he decided to make a very basic fork like item with only two prongs to grab meat with as doing something similar would only result in failure so much that he would most likely quit the commission and miss out on the by SalePlus"> rewards. he grabbed the next piece of metal and followed the actions he did for the previous four to get the basic shape of the fork. the next part was difficult as he heated up the end hotter than he did with the others and set the wedge to the end of it to split it apart. once it was split to a decent length he worked on the handle, making it easy to hold and relatively balanced. he then curved the prongs of the primitive fork to create the final product. as with the last four he let the fork cool before placing it with the other cutlery. lv 1 fork cost :5 gold 5%

to finish his second ingot he decided to just stick with what he knew to make fairly well: another knife. so he repeated the process of heating up the metal and moulding it to be ready to be shaped into a knife. once it was relatively good, ryth started to hammer the thinner end into what would be sharpened into the knife for the banquet which took some time due to trying to gauge the amount of metal would be needed to get the right length of blade of the knife. he then worked on the other end of the metal to make it fit in the hand without feeling too uncomfortable which honestly did take a fair while as well. he then sat in front of the grindstone and started to sharpen the edge of the knife blade so it could cut through tough meat. when this was all done he placed the knife with the rest of his creations in exhasperation, fed up with crafting at that moment.

mentally exhausted from his lack of skill, Ryth picks everything up from the benches that wasn't originally part of the forge and heads out to rest. it takes him a while of searching but he soon finds a quiet patch of grass to lie down on and think about how he made the silverware. looking back on it, there were many things he should've done to make it better but just didn't seem to. realising that he could do things better the next time he started to plan on how he would improve on his creations when he got back to crafting. this process surprisingly took half an hour but once he finished he headed back to the forge purposefully to create some average pieces of cutlery for the banquet. arriving at the forge again he brought out his third ingot and placed it in the fire to prepare it for splitting. as the metal heated to the proper temperature, Ryth repeated the process he used for the other two ingots and separates the metal into workable pieces to create the cutlery with. he took one of the three pieces and placed it near the fire to heat up while he removed the other pieces of metal so that they wouldn’t get in the way of his work. when the piece of metal was finished Ryth started on his most difficult project yet, making an actual fork. he hammered the metal until it was a smooth handle with a flat spatula-like end before he placed the head of the fork in the fire until it was extremely hot and bending on the handle. he then brought out a small wedge, used for more precise work and pushed it into the fork, easily splitting it apart to make two indents, making three very bad looking prongs. from there he took one of his knives and started to manipulate the prongs so that they would look like a fork’s and be effectively used like a fork. he then used the small hammer to curve the sides of the fork head to make it look more like a fork before letting it cool.

once that piece of cutlery cooled Ryth got the next piece of metal and got to work, he placed it beside the fire so it would be hot enough to mold before grabbing his trusty hammer he beat it into two parts with one being far thinner than the other. he then got to work making the thicker part easy to handle which did take him a fair while as it did take a fair bit of cooling down to test the grip of the handle. he then focused on the thin part, he hammered it to be thinner and shaped it to be curved like a blade. once he did this he took it to the grindstone and started to sharpen the blade on both sides so it could actually cut meat. once it was finished he worked a little more to make it look presentable before setting it down
