we all learn to make mistakes Kitkat simply couldn't get it. He'd tried so hard to try to make himself something that people would like, and instead, he just kept messing it up. His mouth was stuck out in a slight pout, and he sniffled, wiping at his nose. He wanted to be good and he wanted people to like his things, and he wanted people to like him.
That was why he'd originally signed up for the game, after all. Mycroft Baskerville had been unpopular and bullied, and he wanted to have friends. He yearned for it with all that he had. That was why he was trying to work so hard on making something for himself. He had sat down and tried so hard to try to make something worthy of people liking him and wanting what he made, and instead he had gotten nothing for his work but pricks from his needle into his palms and fingertips. He'd bled a few times, but he'd at least managed to fix himself back up again as he sat out on the steps of a house.
It was a slow idea that came to him while he was in the depths of despair, but it slowly perked him back up again with interest. He bit his lip, picking up the thread again, and he started working, deciding that a hat would be something that wouldn't be too hard. His tongue came out of his mouth slightly as he started working, leaning over the little strip of silk that he had. He was slowly working it into a cone-like shape, sewing it shut with neat little stitches that were elegant enough to pass for needlework done in some Victorian household.
He had a good feeling about this. It would turn out well, he just knew it! | Words;; 299 Tags;; OkamiAnd others (Research/Open) Notes;; This is now in a template. I'm also taking requests in here if you would like something :3

London had been a fun place to live in. Or, well, it had been a rather lively and enjoyable place to sit around and listen to those around her in. Alana wasn't the kind of person to do 'fun things'. Doing fun things in her condition usually lead to broken bones and tears of pain. She still remembered as a little girl trying to run with a group of children, playing some foot ball*. Not three minutes in and she'd tripped, breaking a rib bone. To say she was 'fragile' would be putting it lightly, the albino knew, but that's how others described her. So why not just go with what the masses had labeled her?
But Okami was a tough old girl. A running dynamo of limitless energy and spirit, who wanted nothing more than to play with her friends. So the little fuzzy bouncy ball had found her-self back in London after another successful hunt of the wilderness for little piggies to kill. Okami was in higher spirits, she thought, as she skipped her way through the crowds of ancient fantasy Britannia. Not that anyone else could know or tell, really. Crazy was crazy, after all, even if it did have one of the prettiest smiles some people of the land had ever seen. Arms swinging, tail swishing, the fox-tail's little fanged smile on display - she was having a good time. And when the sorcerer was having a good time, everyone else was having a good time. Even if she had to drag them kicking and screaming towards the fun.
Her ears swerved around, coming apart and slowly making their way to the center together, before breaking apart once more. It was almost akin to something like a telescope of a submarine, with the captain looking through the glass to find his intended target. Only instead of an enemy nation on the prowl in friendly waters, Okami was on a mission to spread some sunshine. Which meant she needed to find the most miserable looking adventure in the local area. Someone who really needed some fun and cheer from the fox-tail. And, of course, they'd reward her with joining her ever expansive friend's list. Ehehehehe
The sorcerer's ears perked, as if detecting something, and looped around to share the same direction as the needle work she was hear. She sniffed the air, and a grin found it's way onto her features. On the steps of a home was a wolf-hair, studiously at work with a pair of needles. He didn't quite look like he needed some warm fuzzies, but when had her animal instincts let her down before? (read: just about every damn time). With a bounce in her step, and a swoosh of her fluff, the pinkette cannoned her way towards the young man. "Hi!" The sorcerer called out to him, waving as she went. "Are you a tailor~? That's so cool! I wish I could do stuff like this~" She admitted honestly, helping her-self to the seat next to him without any real consideration for his thoughts or feelings on the matter. "Can I watch you make it?" She asked innocently, big smile on her face.

we all learn to make mistakes Kitkat was so engrossed in his task of stitching the hat that the sound of a voice startled him into letting out a yelp and pricking his finger. "Ouch!" he cried, dropping the cone onto his lap as he instinctively brought his finger to his mouth to suck on the wound, a slight pout on his lips. "Ow..." he mumbled, extracting his finger to see that it wasn't bleeding, thankfully. That would have been a real problem, getting blood all over the fabric. Then he'd have to forget the fabric and start all over again, and he'd been doing so well too. He hadn't pricked himself on that project up until the other person had startled him, and it was actually holding up well enough, all things considered. He looked up to see a hyperactive girl with pink hair, something that made him blush. 'C'mon, Mycroft, don't screw this up!' he scolded himself in his head, his free hand coming up to try to smooth some of his hair down self-consciously. He hadn't had many friends in the real world, and now that he was given the chance to make his first in the Unfounded Kingdom, he didn't want to come off with a bad impression simply because he looked a little scruffy.
"Y-yeah, I'm a t-tailor," he murmured, cursing himself for the stutter. Taking a deep breath to try to calm himself, he bit his lip and looked down at the cone in his lap. "I-it's not really all that cool. I'm more likely to bungle the job than I am to do a smashing good job of it." Seeing the way that she was climbing up next to him, he scooted to the side politely, trying to give her some room, though he was a little embarrassed that she was so interested in him. "I... uh..." he began at her question, a little nervous about messing up in front of her but nevertheless thinking that there was no real harm in it. "Sure, if you want to. I'm not very good yet, but I'm trying to get better." Biting his lip thoughtfully, he decided to continue. "I-if you want... I can try to make you some things... and when I get high enough, I can make you some better armor?" He flushed deeply and ducked his head. "I mean, your armor looks like it's still the starter stuff that we all got, and I can craft you some better things when I get better, I think, and I know I'm not the best Tailor, but it's bound to be better than nothing, right?"
He wasn't quite sure which option he would prefer more, if she agreed with him or if she didn't. Feeling entirely self-conscious about the offer, he dropped his gaze to the cone of silky fabric in his lap, closing his fingers around the edge of it and picking it up so that he could begin searching for the needle that he'd lost inside it when he'd dropped the whole thing after pricking his finger. It had to be around here somewhere... | Words;; 516 Tags;; OkamiAnd others (Research/Open) Notes;; LOL if you ever have trouble with my templates, just smack me on skype and I can fix them. Also I didn't count this towards crafting the hat since he wasn't actively working with the fabric since he dropped the needle :'D But with any luck I'll be able to spam this off and on today and get his crafting level up high enough to actually make something nice.

And like that, Okami's mind went off the deep end. He was, this player, just absolutely, positively, one hundred and twenty percent adorable. A complete shy guy, stutter and reflexive need to look away from her? This was just perfect. She loved shy players. They were some of the nicest people to talk with...and some of the funnest to tease.
The fox-tail gave a coy look to the bumbling wolf-hair, crossing her legs and placing a finger at the tip of her chin. "Really?" She asked innocently, looking down at her clothing assemble. It was, well, a starter outfit yes. Just a form fitting dress with some stockings and shoes. Light, wearable and offering little protection from enemy attacks or weather conditions. Or, wandering eyes, for that matter. She dipped a finger down and pulled at the hem of her low cut, giving a playful looked down her cloth armor . "Hmm hmm, I think you might be right." Looking up at him, toothy smile on display, finger still very much tugging at the hem to allow any 'accidental' peeks, "I think I'll take you up on that offer when you get better~" She purred.
Then she laughed, letting the go of the armor and slapping the man on his back, sunny smile on display for all to see. "Oh, come on, sit up straight and chest out. You are a boy, are you not~? Have some more confidence in your-self~." Advised the crazed sorcerer, tail swishing lazily from side to side. "I'm sure with some experience, you will be the greatest. Maybe even greater~" Then she hummed with contemplation, idea slowly forming within that tiny cranium of hers. "Oh! I know," She got up with a spin, landing square in front of the wolf-hair, balled fists on her hips, standing with all the imperiously might of a tiny woman. "I can help you get better! You offered to make me stuff right? Well how about in return, I model for you! I can be your own personal dress up doll~. And when you get better at making armor, you can be my personal tailor for crafting better clothes. It's win-win for us both!"
Then she bent forward, ears twitching in delight, lifting a finger up to snap it with a coy wink. "Whadda say~?"
So naturally, when she wasn't being a tease, and conscious of her own wardrobe, the idiot failed to realized that she was giving the poor sod a full view down her dress.
Stay classy Okami.

we all learn to make mistakes Kitkat blushed at her questioning tone, though it was enough to tempt him to glance upwards again, back at the girl with the bubblegum-pink hair. Almost immediately, however, he regretted the action, his cheeks turning a burning red as he tried to look anywhere but at her, having no idea how to quite react to her tugging on her dress like that and desperate to forget the few glimpses of skin that he'd caught before he'd glanced away. He blinked, his body jolting in surprise as he comprehended her words right before she slapped his back. "You're serious?" he gasped, eyes wide with surprise. "You really mean that you're okay with me crafting armor for you?" She seemed like such a social person, she was bound to know more than a few other friends who were tailors, people who were better at it than he was, and yet she was coming to him and saying that she would take armor that he made for her.
He ducked his head a little after her slap, though he didn't retreat into himself for quite so long, recovering fairly quickly. "Y-yeah, I'm a guy," he murmured, biting his lip. "And I guess so..." He jumped when she suddenly got up, spinning around in front of him, and he ended up dropping the cone of fabric back into his lap again. He blushed a little at her offer, biting his lip shyly before he nodded. "I... uh... if you don't mind me doing that, I would love to make you stuff." Fumbling, he tried to pick up the cone of fabric once more, cheeks flaming at the fact that she was leaning over and giving him a full view down her dress if he chose to look that way, which was something he absolutely refused to do. It would be taking advantage of her, even if he wasn't even remotely interested in girls like that, and it just didn't sit right with him.
The Wolf Hair may not have had the little cross that usually sat around his neck, but that didn't mean that he was any less devoted to the religion that he believed had saved him. He wasn't going to take advantage of a woman, especially one who was kind enough to offer to let him test things on her while he improved his crafting slowly. Fiddling with the hem of the cone of fabric, he picked it up and located the needle, making the few stitches left that he needed to solidify the first part to his satisfaction. "I'm My- Kitkat," he stated, blushing at the fact that he had almost introduced himself by his real name rather than his username. "Sorry, I'm still not used to... well, this," he mumbled, gesturing around them and rubbing the back of his neck sheepishly. "I'm still learning, which is why my levels are so low..."
He just hoped that she didn't think he was a total idiot for still not quite having gotten the hang of things. He was trying hard to learn, something just wasn't quite clicking in his head yet... | Words;; 519 Tags;; OkamiAnd others (Research/Open) Notes;; Shhhh we're just gonna ignore me over-posting for one post, I'd rather put more stuff in to get a result. She waggled a finger at him, "Tsk tsk, Wolfie, I just told you to be more confident, didn't I~? Be more assertive and say something like 'you can count on me! I'll be the greatest in the world!' That's what girls like to hear, you know?" She winked at him, grinning. The sorcerer's tail swooshed from side to side, excitingly converting just how happy she was. She'd met kindly gentlemen during her time stuck in Elder Tales. Had met social recluses and out right jerks, friendless outcasts and companions of war. But now, looking down at this shy little - and by little she meant with the way he carried him-self, not actual size. Okami had no right to call anyone little with how tiny she was - wolf tale who barely held any confidence in him-self. He was just so, so...
Adorable!
And handsome too. The fox-tail gave an approving look as her eyes dared up and down the man, feeling satisfied for no reason in particular. They were gonna need a stick to beat the ladies off of him.
Swirling back into her seat, hands placed in her lap, the fox-tailed smiled up brightly at her bigger animal person friend. "I really appreciate your help, you know? It'll be so great to get some better clothes~" She said honestly, ears flicking and tails back to it's lazy pace behind her. This, she thought, was nice. Not the kind of excitable adventure of piggie slaying, or her runs through London in exploration, or the crazed things she does on the fly. No, this was something entirely different, and dare she say, better.
She leaned over a bit, to get a better look at her companion who'd offered it name. "It's okay," The sorcerer offered, smiling warmly at the wolf-hair, "We all are, you know? I'm Okami" She added on, eyes twinkling with playfulness. It was an idle mischief, as the fox-tail wasn't quite willing to spring her-self from her seat just yet. The sun was feeling nice and the company was good. No need to dash off just yet, right?
"Hmm," she hummed at his last comment, tail twitching as she thought on it. "Well~ I could always help you train, you know? I don't mind in the slightest~" She gave him a reassuring look.

we all learn to make mistakes Kitkat turned a bright red. "I'm not trying to impress any girls though," he mumbled, biting his lip. "And it's hard to be confident when there's so many stronger players running around being so much stronger than I am..." He ran his fingers through his messy dull red hair, a little distracted before he looked at her, unsurprised when she turned back around and settled down next to him, though he perked up when she spoke again. He smiled at her, shyly, like the sun peeking out from behind a cloud after a long storm. "I'm glad that you trust me enough to make some," he replied, beaming at her shyly. "I'm still trying to improve my level, and some people probably wouldn't want to wear anything that I make since it might not be as good." He'd seen the way some of the people played, with the high levels that they had, and it startled him in a way that few other things could. He was easily intimidated to start with, never mind the discouragement from having a group of really big, really bad, hardcore players around him. It was something that more or less devastated his self-confidence, to the point where he would hide out in quiet places.
But he'd always been someone who had liked silence. He had liked the quiet of the cathedral that he had worshipped inside, the feeling of that presence filling him up and giving him the courage to return to face the demons that had inhabited his home. And even though the Fox Tail girl had been fairly loud and bouncy in his first impression of her, he still felt some sort of companionship in her company at his side. Maybe that was why, when she leaned over and smiled at him, he shyly smiled right back. "Okami..." he murmured, repeating the name to himself before he nodded. "It's nice to meet you, Okami." He blushed and smiled at her offer. "That sounds like it could be fun," he replied, nodding to himself before he paused, reaching up to hover his hand over her and click on her. He was intending on sending her a friend request when suddenly, his hand stopped, hovering in mid-air as his eyes widened at the sight of her crafting class in the window.
An idea was slowly coming to him. He'd been planning on working on something individual for the fabric that he had in his hand, something new to show for all his work practicing before Okami had come along, but now that it was in his hands, he had an idea for how to twist it into something usable... possibly even something that she would like. "Okami!" he cried, dropping his hand to grasp the cone of fabric, holding it out to her. "You're an alchemist! I bet you can put in some mana and make this some kind of magical accessory!" He could hardly keep the excitement out of his voice, eager to see if his idea would work. The thought of making something new was one that invigorated him, and he was eager to try it out to see if it would work the way that he wanted it to.
He hoped it did. He really wanted to make Okami think well of him, and what better way than to invent some new crafting recipe with her help? | Words;; 566 Tags;; OkamiAnd others (Research/Open) Notes;; QUICK OKAMI PUNCH YOUR MANA INTO THE HAT. Resting her elbows on her knees and lacing her hands, she used them as a resting place for her chin. She had her head tilted away from the wolf boy, trying to keep a good visual on him. Tails, yes tails, swayed behind her lazily. At the comment of 'levels' Okami had chosen to let her fluffy tails appear before him. Fox-tails were able to manifest more tails the higher level they got, and as a level 20 player she could manage up to three of them at a time if she so choose. They flicked and pulled as one, tickling the perch she sat on. "There's more to the game than levels, you know?" The sorcerer declared, looking at the man pleasantly. "Anyone whose too concerned about stats and mechanics won't be able to see," She lifted her head up, and stretched out her arms. "This." The fox-tail state, waving her arms as if to emphasize the scenery before her.
Returning her hands to her lap, the woman's ears twitched with a certain perkiness. "And I'm glad you agreed~ So happy~" Okami gave a low cheer, not wanting to frighten Kitkat with a sudden burst of energy. It seemed to be taking a toll of him, scaring him even. Which was most definitely the last thing she wanted to do to him. Then, at the signal of a most wonderful little ding, she'd found her-self at the receiving end of a friend request. A sly grin found it's way onto her features, and with all the controlled glee of a third grader high on candy, the fox-tail repeatedly jammed her finger into the accept button. Even long after the pop up was gone and she was just jabbing air. Then, happily, she threw her-self into her new friend. It was reflex for her, really, an unthinkable action resulting from filled happiness. So as he was saying something she wasn't really paying attention to, Okami had wrapped her arms around his mid-section and proceeded to nuzzle her cheeks into his side. "Friiieeennndd~" She droned out, perfectly content to enjoy her hugs.

we all learn to make mistakes Kitkat blushed when she pointed out that there wasn't just levels in a game, biting his lip. "I-I know..." he mumbled shyly, "I just didn't know if you were focused on that or not." He then blushed, smiling shyly. "If you want, when we finish with this, I can try to make the armor for you right away so I don't keep you waiting?" he asked, cocking his head to the side slightly, just like a cat. "I'm sure that it wouldn't be too hard, after all." He then blinked and blushed. "O-oh right. If I'm going to be your personal tailor now, I should probably add you to my friend's list." He pulled up the menu, fiddling with it for a second before he sent the friend request to her, watching as the pop-up appeared in front of her.
What he wasn't surprised for was the reaction he got as a response. All that he had for a warning was a suspicious grin that spread across her lips, and then she had leapt forward, jabbing her finger into the air with a suddenness that had him letting out a yelp. His red eyes were wide, and had he actually had a pair of cat ears, they would have been pressed flat back to his head out of sheer terror from the actions that had just gone on in front of him. And then suddenly she was diving into his arms, and he wanted to hide, except that... she wasn't hurting him. She was just... hugging him. Rather exuberantly, of course, but it was still a hug. Awkwardly, he reached up and patted her on the head. "Uh, Okami?" he asked shyly, "ease up on me?
