Hiro woke up that morning, his hair as crazy as possible, with a long yawn followed by the stretching of his arms over his head. Dressing himself, he headed towards the kitchen where he would make some food to eat, but he stopped himself slightly when he began to shiver a bit. He was actually a little cold. However, it was supposedly pretty warm outside, but the interior of Buckingham Palace was definitely a lot colder than it should be. Going around and opening all the windows was definitely not a good idea, since it would likely become night once again by the time he was done, and then he'd spend all night closing them back up. This place, albeit very lovely and cozy (on most occasions), was definitely too big for its own good. However, Hiro had no way of heating, let alone cooling, the whole place in a simple and effective way. But, this wasn't going to stop him from making lunch. He thought about all of this while on his way to the kitchen, prepared himself a sandwich, and placed it on a plate, as he began to walk towards the garage.
As much as he wanted to eat something, he definitely thought far too long and hard about what he could do in order to help the place warm up a bit more than it was today. Having moved a lot of his stuff from the Handy Wrench location he had in the city, he began to look through all of the items that were there. Without a certain goal in mind as to where to start, he had a hunch about something. Placing the plate that carried the sandwich down, he began to rummage through all of his past inventions. Music boxes galore, old mana-powered generators, plans for a hoverboard using Alchemy, and even the huge honking train prototype that he had made in order to create the Kumori and Caerbannog engines a while back. Still confused as to how a train got here, since he lost all memory from that day or night, he ignored it all, and began to look over at the mana-powered generator he attempted to make. It was crude, ineffective, and definitely far before its needed time. If anything, this gave him the idea that he needed to make some kind of an actual energy source, before was to make any sort of a temperature control unit.
He started by bringing the piece over to the table, looking at it briefly before scoffing at himself. The idea that he had created at the time was to take a couple of mana fragments and try to draw their power from one another, into an empty one. The failure that had taken place right after that made him wish he had forgotten the entire project. But, he then thought about how it could be applied, using the steam engine's method of energy. After thinking for a moment, he felt something roll across his forehead. A bead of sweat, dripping down from his hair. Amazed by it all, he wiped it from his face, and moved over to the big garage doors, opening them up entirely. A burst of wind flew in from the openings, cooling him down again. All this change in temperature was making him a bit frustrated, to the point of just leaving entirely. But, he had a thought in his mind about how to go about all of this, so he wanted to stay and get some, if any, work done on this project. Maybe he could look into some kind of a stove or oven to get some inspiration. Since the kitchen in the Palace was pretty big, he could just look inside of them and see what kind of stuff made them work. As he thought about all of this, he hopped onto one of the ladders in the garage to look into the steam engine's system. Maybe some inspiration will happen there. Maybe.
[667 Words] Tag: Nutella Notes: Sorry, this kinda stinks for an intro post, but I figure it's something. An idea I had about how you could enter is by just walking up and into the Palace's garage, since the doors were open. Basic as all hell, I know, but it's something. Sorry that this post is pretty bad, but once we get something going, it should be better. ^-^;

Notes: Don't worry about it. My post probably isn't that great either. XD | | "Was it North? No, no, it was probably northeast. Left, right, right, wait, no, left... Or was it right?" The streets of londinium honestly felt like a maze for her. Ridiculously and comically lost in that city, Nutella always had a hard time finding places; walking around londinium probably wasn’t any big deal for most of those who lived in London before, but for someone like her, who has never been to londinium before was certainly a hard task.
Falling to her knees and hands, she grumbled incomprehensible words. At this rate, she would never reach her biggest goal; to make a place for everyone to gather in and interact, both landers and adventurers. For the past few days, Nutella has been looking around Londinium for talented crafters in the many crafting fields available to everyone, and, of course, it was no easy task. Many adventurers didn’t get far on their rafting class careers and more than half of the suggested places were already closed. Sighing, she stood up, patting her knees to clean the dirt on her simple dress, which resembled one of the many landers’ dresses. She pulled up her red hood and once ready to keep walking, the girl realized where she was: a garage.
Just as if contemplating the heaven’s temple, her eyes shone brightly as a star; she finally found an active mechanic’s shop! Speeding up her pace, she entered the garage, soft and precise steps which were probably hard to notice. There were many mechanic equipments that she had no idea what they were used for. Above all else was a huge train that made her jaw drop for a moment. In an instant, she noticed someone in a ladder, probably checking some internal parts of the train, and judging by the silhouette, it was a man.
…Of course, it had to be a man. It was hard to find active shops, and even less likely to see a woman running a mechanical shop. With a quick glance to her side, her cheeks immediately blushed. Despite that, she would need his help and overcoming her problems was part of it. As Olga, the inn owner in which she lived said, dealing with her fears was just one step among many to come.
- Erm… Hello? – an almost inaudible greeting came from her. What a great start. – Are you the owner of all these projects? I have a mechanical research request.
She waited anxiously for his answer, trying her best to not get too nervous or look like a weirdo. In order to accomodate all of her future costumers she would need a way to control temperature, both indoors and outdoors. |

Hiro scratched his head a bit, unable to really find much of anything to work with in the train, itself. The object that increased the temperature of the whole train's engine was entirely reliant on coal, which wasn't very difficult to come by, but it would definitely be cumbersome to try and fuel all the time. And even then, it likely would be something that could only raise the heat, not lower it as well. Perhaps this was something of an alchemist's expertise and jurisdiction. Then again, relying solely on Alchemy for all advancements was probably not a good idea, since that would make the cost of living skyrocket. This is why a Mechanic was so necessary. Taking things as they are, and improving them using only the metals and pieces given, is the core of what Hiro wanted to accomplish. This all in mind, he continued to look around in the steam engine's machinations to try and figure at least something out. There had to be a way to control the temperature for both heating and cooling, instead of just heating. But, without even realizing it, Hiro had been visited.
A voice piped up from behind him, quiet and small at first, to which he could only assume was his own imagination playing tricks on him. Then, he heard the voice even louder. So, to check on it, he lifted his head up, without realizing that his head was on a collision course with the engine's furnace. Crashing into the top of the furnace, Hiro stumbled backwards a bit, and eventually tumbled out of the train entirely, landing on his back. Letting out a groan, he slowly opened his eyes, to see a piece of metal precariously perched atop the train's cabin teetering, before realizing how sharp the object was. Opening his eyes up widely, Hiro immediately rolled over to the other side, vaulting himself up to his feet, as the metal piece crashed onto the floor. Now having his wits about him, he realized that it was the Shape-Shifting Prototype that he had yet to give to Oxford. Hiro walked over and picked up the great sword, holding it firmly. "So, that's where this went..." He murmured to himself, before walking over to the nearby table to set it down. After having done this, he looked at the sandwich he had made earlier, and was about to grab it, when something else finally clicked in his mind.
Spinning around, he saw a brunette standing there, finally registering that it was she who was asking him the questions, instead of his own imagination. For whatever reason, he didn't really line up all the pieces as quickly as he should have, which caused him to feel slightly embarrassed, and possibly under-classed when it came to Mechanic-related things. Understanding that his image as a Mechanic was probably shattered, he still went ahead to address the young woman. "Uhh, yeah." He began, his eyes still slightly widened. "I've made pretty much everything you see here..." He trailed off for a moment, looking over to the to-be-continued Hoverboard project. "...Mostly." His attention snapped right back to the girl, a smile finally appearing on his face, despite his obvious blunders up until now. "Name's Hiro, and welcome to Apocrypha's Garage. How can I help you, today?" Hiro recalled that the girl was asking about a mechanical research request, but wasn't going to ask about it immediately. It seemed a bit rude to be asking someone why exactly they have shown up to your place, when it could be considered your own place of business. With a streak of mechanical smudge across the left-most part of his forehead, Hiro waited patiently for the girl's request.

| | Everything happened so quickly that it was hard for her to catch a good grasp of it. Her jaw unconsciously dropped once again after seeing how the man managed to quickly roll and avoid the falling sword. When he stood up, Nutella snapped and kept waiting for her answer; Just like her, it seemed like the redhead finally got what was going on.
His eyes wandered around the garage as if gathering all the pieces of a puzzle, widened green globes forced the cook to think if she was a nuisance and popped up at the wrong time. These thoughts quickly faded as his lips drawn a slight smile. With a quick introduction, he welcomed her to Apocrypha’s garage - so that was a guild in the end, huh?
- Oh yes! I’m Nutella, nice to meet you, Hiro. As I said, I’m here for a research request.
She took a brief pause before continuing. Nutella wanted to keep her objective as a secret, so it was naturally hard to think of a way to explain what she wanted to be crafted and how she wanted her order. As a South American herself, she couldn’t stand the cold temperature of Elder Tale, which was the main reason why she’d look for such kind of invention, she wanted to control that temperature, partially for herself, but mostly for her future costumers.
- I really could use a machine that controls temperature of an environment. – she made a brief pause, waiting on what he had to say. – I’m not up to date on most of the technologies crafted by us adventurers in this world, so forgive me if such a thing isn’t possible to be crafted at all. I’m just a simple chef and I don’t have much knowledge about mechanics, so…
Scratching the back of her head and feeling a bit embarrassed, the cleric had to admit that technology wise, not only she was totally oblivious about said field, she never tried to contribute to it before. However, living without some basic characteristics of their old world has been proving to be troublesome, such as no reliable power source . This time around, however, she’d make sure to support the technologies to come, and helping the man before her was part of it.
- You don’t need to worry about research costs. I’m paying for everything you might need for it. – Her many days of interactions with landers, plus the many opportune moments back on her first days summed up a decent amount of gold. – So, what do you say, Hiro? Currently, is it possible to make that machine?
Pessimism was a no-no right now. She had to hope for the best and pray for this to be the right direction and step towards her goals. Nutella wanted to believe in the mechanic and possibly help with making that world a better place to live; even if she had no experience with gears. |

His mind shifted a bit, thinking about what this girl could possibly want. Without so much as a full explanation, it seemed that the girl was looking for him to make something exactly like what he was going to make right now. After the girl's brief pause, he couldn't help but utter a small thing suddenly. "You huh?" That was all that came from his mouth, but before long, the girl continued with what she was saying. Not only was the whole concept something as outrageous as having someone control temperature, potentially airflow from one part of an area to another, but the fact that he was probably going to do something like this anyway made him wonder if the world was going to send him a reminder just to make sure he fulfilled said task. The girl continued speaking, and Hiro finally now got a chance to size her up a little bit. Definitely not a Lander, by any extent, since she seemed to know how to speak to an Adventurer without so much as a bit of hesitation. Maybe just something that defines this girl, Nutella, a bit more into who they are, but still something to note.
At this point, she mentioned how she was willing and able to pay for all the research costs. Hiro took a little look around the room once again, and figured that he had pretty much everything he needed to the task at hand. If anything, since the Kumori and Caerbannog engines were now able to be made by pretty much any Mechanic, Adventurer or Lander-based, he didn't really need any parts from the prototype, so the presence of usable metal was always there. But, if he did end up needing something, it was likely something that they didn't have in store already, so it would make sense that they get some more. If Nutella was planning on paying for that, then that's all fine. Once that was mentioned, and his mind was fixed up to a point where he understood her request, he was quiet for just a few moments. She asked if he was up to the challenge of making something that he was already going to be working on already, to which the answer should have been more than obvious. But, he wasn't just going to go right ahead and just say that, though. While not trying to make it seem as though it was difficult, he needed to inform her that this was his plan anyways.
Folding his arms, Hiro nodded. "Yeah, it's doable." He began. "To be honest, I was planning on working on such a mechanism already today, due to the cooler morning air still floating around in the guild house. I guess you could say, you came here at the right time." He was still quite skeptical of whether or not this girl was a psychic for knowing exactly now to come here and ask for the thing he was already thinking of working on, but letting it slide was probably the best thing. Instead, Hiro lifted his arm up and towards the rest of the room. "Everything you see here, I've made, so this task shouldn't be impossible. There's plenty of materials to work from here, but if I will need some more, then I will definitely come to you about it, Miss Nutella." Hiro walked up to the young woman, extending a hand out for her to grasp with her own. "I'll accept your request." If the girl accepted his hand, he would shake to seal the deal. After whatever exchange would occur, Hiro would walk back to the desk he was standing near, and start looking over the generator that he was dissecting before, before thinking that the girl might get bored by standing there and just having him work. So, if she wanted to stick around, he would try to keep her entertained. "So, you say you're a chef, yeah?" He began. "I'm assuming you would need this object to help with a business of some sort?" Hiro waited for a reply to his question, going over all sorts of things in his mind about what he could do with the generator.

Notes: Sorry for taking a little bit longer to post~ | | So far, so good; previous experience with men certainly started to show some decent results. Back at the start of the catastrophe, the chef would usually just freeze up in some occasions. Fortunately, she could briefly interact, as long as nothing went out of control and she kept her mind cool. His eyes scanned through the room once again, as if taking into consideration what she just said about the research’s costs. There were many mechanical things around that she had no idea that were used for; but she had a mechanic right in front of her just for that.
Hirosame folded his arms, and with a quick nod, confirmed. Nutella's heart lightened up, just as much as a wide smile appeared on her face. She quickly recomposed herself with a slight coughing; the priest had a long way to go on learning business, unlike her parents, she barely had any skill at it. The mechanic continued speaking, explaining that he was actually working on something of the same nature. What a great start! Not only she /inadvertently/ found a mechanic’s active shop, but found it with great timing as well. He then proceeded to explain that everything in there was crafted by him, relieving all the stress from the word “impossible”. She nodded when Hirosame warned her that if ever needed, she’d be able to help, moving closer to her.
"Wait… Oh my god, no. Please, no. D-don’t come any closer! Don’t, n-no! G-G-GET AWAY FROM ME!! >∆<"
For a brief moment, she froze up, lost within her thoughts. His presence was too much for her to keep her fear from emerging. That feeling increased even further when he extended his hand towards her – a deal. Her whole body slightly trembled; tensing up all of her muscles just like a statue, she stopped it and in a hasty and awkward way she accepted the deal with a handshake, a nervous smile on her face.
Finishing the deal, the mechanic walked back to what he was working with. Curious, Nutella approached with slow and short step,s take care not trip or touch anything; she didn’t want to mess up with his things, nor disturb his crafting process. Surprised, she noticed the man asked a question to her, which she grimaced after hearing it. The chef couldn’t help but ask herself, how could he guess that it was something business related? Did she give away too much information? Maybe she was that easy to read, just like an open book? The girl sighed softly, in a way he couldn’t hear it.
- U-uhm, yes, yes. I’ll need that machine because there will be different places and situations that temperature might be an issue, which is the reason why I need control over it. I’d need a warmer temperature in the beach, and a colder temperature close to the hotsp…! – for a moment, she noticed what in the quack she was saying: everything! – H-hotsprings…
Without knowing how the man would react to that information, Nutella honestly did not know what to do. Quickly glancing over the place allowed her brown eyes to catch the image of a sandwich, instantly granting her a great idea to work around her situation.
- Is that your, uhm… Breakfast? – she asked, approaching the plate with the sandwich on it. Simplicity itself, she couldn’t help but smile when looking at it. After waiting for an answer, she resumed speaking.
– Then what about this; if you let me use your kitchen, I could make something for you, if you want. That way we could both help each other, in a way. So, what do you think about it, may I?
She smiled, arms behind her back, only hoping that she wasn’t being rude or intrusive with him. |

A few pieces of metal were nearby, to which Hiro picked up and began to fiddle with putting them in a suitable arrangement. He would need some sort of a configuration to have the generator stay in place. Of course, this would require making some sort of an engine to power it all. Steam of some sort, like how the steam engines worked, could be a feasible medium to create the energy required to make it all move and work how he wanted it to. However, the thing that had caught his mind was the process by which heat could be added or removed. That kind of thing might require an Alchemist, although what he could do is help with the addition of heat, and having things naturally cool down themselves. But, that didn't really matter at the moment. For now, he needed a generator that wouldn't kill anything that walked within 8 feet of it from radiating heat, but something that could inevitably hold its own charge for a long enough period of time. Maybe not necessarily a charge, but perhaps something that will power whatever temperature-controlling mechanism that Nutella had asked for.
Speaking of the female chef, Hiro looked over for a moment, nodding to her. "Sounds like a hell of a business idea you got going on over there." He commented, a smile on his face as he turned back to the metal plates. "I'd be more than happy to have a hand in your business' success." She seemed like she had no problem explaining what her plan was, probably, as she told him a good deal in such a short amount of time. Perhaps a trick she learned from someone, somewhere, to have someone make things for her more easily, knowing about what they were planning to do with whatever they ordered. Kind of indulgent, but it worked. Hiro had no doubt working on this project for this girl anymore. A little bit after that, though, the girl asked about the sandwich that he had forgotten about. Stopping what he was doing, he looked over at the girl, then at the sandwich. She had offered to make him a decent meal, should he wanted something made even better. Just as he was about to make the claim that it was all fine, his stomach growled in protest to his thoughts, potentially loud enough for the girl to hear. A defeated look appeared on his face, as he looked to her again.
"Well, how can I refuse, after my body has basically demanded that I take you up on the offer?" A chuckle could be heard, and he took a few steps away from the bench. "Sure thing, that actually sounds kinda nice. Follow me." Hiro motioned for the girl to follow him, as he walked through the door of the garage, into the main part of the Palace. Walking for a little while, since the garage was pretty close to the kitchen, he led the girl through the corridor, down the hall a little ways, and to a large door. Opening it up, it revealed the large kitchen that the Palace had to offer. Taking a few steps inside, he turned around. "Here it is." Hiro pointed to a large container unit. "Over there's the refrigerator, with all the meats and such that you could use. Vegetables, fruits, pretty much everything you need are over there." Hiro nodded at a large, metallic box nearby the fridge. "That's the chest freezer, for all the frozen things you'd need." Looking back to the girl, he smiled. "Utensils are where you'd think they'd be, so go ahead and do whatever you would like, while I get to work over in the garage. If you need anything, I'll be there, just look for the open door down the way we came." Hiro lifted up his hand in a wave, and walked back to the door. "Have fun, I suppose." He concluded, walking back towards the garage, before stopping.
Was it okay to just leave a complete stranger alone in the guild house? He was a few feet from the door, while he thought about this, pondering silently. Ultimately, he continued back along the way towards the garage. He needed to get to work on the project he had agreed to perform, if the girl was to make him some sort of a meal. However, he didn't really have a lot of places where he could do much, other than make the generator, first. As soon as he got back to the garage, he immediately walked over to the train, using Quality Control to read into the make-up of the object. With the knowledge of how it all worked being refreshed in his mind, he started to place large metal pieces nearby, and started to construct a smaller Steam-powered engine. First, a basin to hold the water, which would probably need to be added or subtracted, given the general amount of moisture in the air at a certain time. After that, he recreated the combustion section, where a sort of fire would need to exist for the whole program to work. Then, a piston, based on what he had made for the Train beforehand. After that, he started to assemble the metal pieces all together, creating a glorified steam oven of sorts, with a piston at one side to allow for work to be done, therefore creating energy. Now that this was all in place, here came the hard part: Making a heating and cooling device.

Notes: Go ahead. Also, hope that salty is what he wants. | | Before even receiving a positive answer, Nutella had already started on planning the whole process: judging by the sandwich, he’d probably prefer a salty breakfast. Taking into consideration the way things were moving forward, Hirosame would probably start working as soon as possible. With that I mind, she heard a noticeable growl coming from him; not his mouth, but his stomach.
Taking her hand up to her mouth, she chuckled at the mechanic’s situation. Quietly, she followed him through the corridor and hall slightly jaw dropping at the huge size of the place. In fact, Nutella had an unconsciously great idea since someday she’ll need to take care of something just as, if not bigger. They both arrived in front of a large door, which once opened by Hiro showed up the large heaven kitchen of the guild and a quick introduction to everything in there and its appliances.
- Alright! I promise you that you won’t be disappointed! – she smiled once again, and once he left, sighed, finally relaxing a bit. It seems that Nutella improved a bit, comparing to her first day back in the early catastrophe.
Nevermind that! That was one god-like kitchen! Whistling, Nutella stretched her arms and spun around; she could walk and do anything in quite a careless manner since there was so much space, unlike Olga’s kitchen. She quickly stopped and pulled down her hood, thinking on what recipe she should do for him once again; she needed something simple, tasty, and above all else not heavy, since he would be working hard to craft her machine. After pondering for a while, she decided that a casserole would be a great start.
With a large and powerful clap, she huffed with a confident grin on her mouth. Nutella quickly picked up the required ingredients.
- Let’s get started! - After washing her hands, she checked the refrigerator for meat. Fortunately, they had chicken breast. She picked it up and closed the fridge, heading towards the quartz countertop where all the ingredients needed for it were already organized by her. Adding the kitchen to a large pot, she minced half an onion and garlic clove to small cubicles. Pouring just a bit of oil, she ignited the flames and let it fry for a little while, mixing the onion, garlic and chicken breast. Quickly, she picked up a fork in a drawer and poked the meat several times, since chicken breast isn’t so easy to properly temper.
Once the chicken breast received a golden look, she poured enough water to fully cover it, sprinkling a good amount of salt on the water. Once tender, she removed the chicken and set it aside to shred later, as well as reserving part of the chicken broth. When cool enough to handle, she shred the breast meat and set it aside once again. With the broth ready, she could begin making the chicken Gravy. Using a saucepan, she ignited the fire to melt around six tablespoons of butter and flour. Constantly whisking, she waited patiently until the mixture received a brownish color; once reaching it, she mixed in a good portion of the chicken broth and after some more whisking followed by adding a cup of milk.
Thickening, the mixture quickly received a similar color to the chicken broth. Last but not least, she added in some salt and pepper. Now with the chicken gravy completed, she picked up a baking dish, spreading butter as a simple layer over it to prevent the casserole from sticking to the baking dish. Using a large saucepan, she combined what was left of the previous chicken broth, the chicken gravy, half a teaspoon for cumin, salt, pepper and cup of sour cream. After mixing well all of it and waiting for it to boil, she removed the pan from the top of the oven.
The dish was almost ready. Spreading one cup of the newly cooked mixture on the baking dish, she cut some slices of bread in cubicles filling the baking dish evenly with it along with cheese; once one layer was done, she scattered the shred chicken to make another layer, repeating the process until nothing was left. To finish it, Nutella spread the last bit of chicken gravy left. Pre-heating the oven, she slid the baking dish and closed the lid.
Leaning on the counter, she’d need to wait now, wondering if he would actually like it. Just in case, she made enough for a few servings, not just his, in case someone else wanted to try it, or if he wanted more or if… Realizing how many ifs she had count, the girl heavily sighed. |

"Damn piece of shit!" Hiro cursed, slamming his fist onto the object before himself. The piston had broken, already, and the steam that was being created had very quickly turned into a black smog, causing the entire mechanism to ultimately fail. Letting out a disgruntled sigh, he slid to the ground next to it, letting his mind wrap around why his project had just failed. While Hiro was trying to think of some kind of heating and cooling mechanism, he decided to go ahead and let the steam engine make its maiden voyage, so to speak, and let it try working on its own. But, the product had been created to the specifications of what was needed to make a train function, not a single unit. This was his problem, more than likely, to which some upgrading and altering was needed. Sitting back up, he looked at it once again, and kept wracking his brain to figure something out, but to no avail. However, what he had thought of doing was making a much higher efficient Mana-Powered Generator, like the failed one that he had made a long time ago, and was looking over just a little while ago. But, before that, he needed to head into the kitchen. He was thirsty.
Wiping the sweat from his brow, Hiro began to walk over towards the door. Making his way down the corridor to where the kitchen was, he thought about the power that Mana might be able to infuse into a large enough unit. He had to figure something out, though, since he had been requested by someone else to do this. But, then again, if all else fails, at least this new person would have the chance to work in a large enough kitchen that they would have likely not been able to do before, until now. With this thought having been concluded, he walked into the kitchen. "Hey, don't mind me." Hiro spoke, without so much as any further greeting. Walking directly over to the sink, his mind fluttered with the possibilities that were laying before him, with the mana generator. Would he need to use his own mana? Would he need to use mana from a fixed source? He wasn't sure at all. What he was sure of, though, was that he needed to cool off a little bit. The sink where the water ran, which was positioned directly next to the ovens where the girl worked, had a large basin. Deciding that he could use a little splash of water to his face, he walked directly over towards it.
However, he had no idea that he was too close to the girl at all, and ended up accidentally brushing the back of his hand against her. "Oh, sorry." He apologized. It was just a little accident, and it was just a little slip up. Nothing too serious, he thought, as he started to turn the water on immediately. He noticed that there were some cooking supplies already in the sink, as he figured that the girl was working and left some of them in the sink to clean in a little bit, once the food was done. Hiro couldn't help but wonder what she was making, as the smell in the room was rather nice. He let the thought go, however, and put his hands under the cool water. Splashing a bit up into his face, he let the cool sensation fill his head, which transferred to the rest of his body. A cool body, a cool mind. He should probably be able to think of things a bit more easily now, but his mind was still cluttered with possibilities. So, the next thing that struck his mind, he figured he would go ahead and do. Pouring the water into a cup, he turned to Nutella. "Do you mind if I take care of the dirty dishes and stuff?" He asked, trying to be as polite as possible. "I'm a little short on ideas, so I figure having something else to do for now would help me think more clearly. That okay with you?" Hiro took a sip of the water, and waited for her reply.

Notes: Muse. This post is a bit short. Sorry about that. | | Lost on her thoughts, she kept mumbling to herself her infinite “ifs”, and did not notice Hiro’s simple greeting when entering. Closing her eyes, the chef hopelessly tried to concentrate and sweep those pessimist thoughts out of her mind, heavily sighing. Maybe he’d like something sweet… Did she make way too much casserole? Actually, was it enough for him? What if the mechanic is used to eat a little more than what she possibly could guess?
"UUUUUGH!" - she mentally tried to stop it all.
Something briefly bumped on her right arm, breaking her pessimist train of thought; for a moment, she felt the glorious relief of finally freeing herself from all her negative thinking. However, she soon realized that something should have caused the bump, right?
Right.
Slowly, her eyes glanced over to her right in a discreet way to check what it was, and just as she thought… “It” was Hiro’s hand. Her face turned to the left almost instantly, teeth gritted under her lips preventing a squeal from escaping. Thanks to the fridge’s reflection, she could see the bright red on her face. Noticing it, the blush received an even more vivid color; she could only guess that at any moment steam would blow from her ears. Drawing a great amount of hair, she tried to calm down and took advantage that he was washing his face.
Lowering herself the cook pretended to be taking care of their breakfast; by doing so her hair, albeit short, would probably cover her tomato-red blush. Hiro then asked her about the dishes, to which she quickly – and somewhat awkwardly – replied.
- O-o y-y-yeah, yes. W-wait I mean n-no, you d-don’t need to worry about it! - she sighed, trying her best to calm down. – I mean, uhm… If you could wash them, I can make some juice to go along with the breakfast…
Embarrassed, she knew that her farce wouldn’t last long, finally standing and looking at the mechanic. Tilting her head, she smiled, using her – now weaker blush – as a tool for a perfect smile. It seems Olga’s lessons were finally showing some results.
“Smile, Nutella…it will either warm their heart or piss them off. Either way, you win~”
- So, what do you say? If yes, then is there any particular fruit you'd like? – sounding all fine and controlled, little did she know that she, literally, forgot to breath. But now, now, she couldn’t lose her composure at this moment, not even for air. Nutella turned to check the cassarole once again.
And Nutella's stubbornness with composure was her worst mistake. Suddenly, the chef felt dizzy, as she felt like missing something important... Air! For a moment her body and balance weakened, and she fell towards Hiro. |

After having asked his question, it seemed as though the girl was having some sort of a panic attack. Hiro couldn't help but wonder why exactly this had happened, but he wasn't going to pry into the girl's life, especially if she did not want him to. The problem here, though, is that his curiosity had gotten the better of him, as he began to think about all the different scenarios that could have caused the female to react in such a stammering and surprised manner. Was it the small grazing of his hand against her? Probably not, since the girl seemed to have a good grasp of things, and wouldn't let something of such a small magnitude be the force that caused her to seemingly explode. Hiro shook his head a little bit, to drop the thought from his mind. If the girl had an aversion to men, she would likely not be here in the same room as him. Either way, though, she had basically given her permission for him to work in here for the time being, and he decided to go ahead with it. Picking up some of the dishes, and running the water so it would fill up the basin, he responded to her question.
"Yeah, sounds good. I'm fine with whatever you want to make. If it were even possible, some Watermelon Juice would be wonderful." Snickering slightly at the thought, he began to scrub one of the plates. "It's funny. I've always loved to have anything watermelon flavored, just because of how naturally sweet it was. The taste was amazing, and when I had it in my house, back in the other world, I'd always have it with breakfast." Reminiscing about the old times, he started to shift through the plates and utensils, one by one, all the while trying to figure out what exactly he could do with the machine in the garage. Since it had gone up in smoke, almost literally, just a little while ago, he would have to shift to a different form of energy, in order to make it all work. He wasn't paying much attention to the dishes that he was cleaning, as it gave his subconscious mind something to focus on, while his conscious mind homed in on the problem that he had set himself out to fix. Would using a mana generator even be doable, without an Alchemist around? Hiro had absolutely no idea how to make it all work, but he would figure something out, in due time. For now, he focused on keeping himself busy.
He never really considered Nutella's presence in the room, until just then. He found himself wondering about why she reacted in such a manner just a few moments ago, when she became seemingly flustered. But, he decided to go with his better judgement on this case, since tampering with a woman, in almost any scenario, will likely end up with his balls being smashed. Wanting to avert that, as well as the task that he was given being revoked, he thought it might do him better to let the topic go for now. Instead, his mind started to go back to the mana generator, and how it could possibly work. The problem here is that he had no idea how to even get it working, in the first place, and what made matters worse, was that his curiosity was picking up once again. So, very quickly, he began a battle between questions about how to make the machine even work, and understanding why the girl nearby him had suddenly changed the way she was talking. Hiro put the dish he was currently washing down, and leaned on the sink once again. This wasn't working all that well, and he could feel it. But, he had made a commitment to try and take his mind off of things for a moment, and do the dishes. So, he went ahead and shifted the focus in his subconscious mind to the conscious, and vice versa. He put the machine on the back burner for now, and focused on cleaning up the dishes. If it helped Nutella out in the long run, then cleaning up these dishes was probably the best thing for him to do right now.
His mind was forced back to reality, however, as the chef nearby him started to lose her balance, causing him to worry slightly. A moment later, her body began to move towards him, throwing him into an immediate panic, to which he dropped all the dishes he was handling. As the dishes fall into the sink, Hiro outstretched both his arms to catch the woman by her shoulders. His hands were still wet, though, from the water, causing her to slip out of his grip. "Shit!" He cried out, as the girl's body continued to fall. Unable to fully prepare himself, he ended up falling over onto his back, presumably with the girl on top of him. Hiro lost his wits for just a moment, but quickly regained his mind, and looked at the girl. "Are you okay?" He asked, still slightly dazed from the events that had just transpired.
[866 Words] Tag: Nutella Notes: Kind of a strange post, but I'm also trying to buy time, so I can figure out how exactly to RP making a generator. I should have something set to go for the next post, where he will continue to intrude into Nutella's personal space. :3
Edit: Added in a response in a fourth paragraph. Hope it works.
