Appearance Keeping with Jay's large frame in real life, Ragnar is an extremely large man. Standing over two meters the muscle bound avatar tends to be quite intimidating. His features are quite chiseled, though they're often schooled in an affable expression. However, his wide grin can turn into a fierce expression that can be downright murderous at the drop of a hat. On top of his well defined face is an unruly mane of crimson hair, which he keeps cut short, that joins his mutton chops and beard. His equally red eyes often sparkle with mirth, and just a bit of madness, and when he decides to get serious the madness just takes the larger portion as they glint murderously. While not directly his appearance, his voice is deep and a bit gruff. It too can make the transition from a jubilant cry full of laughter to a deep cry for battle whenever the occasion requires it. | Personality Jay has been described in many ways: strange, violent, unstable, and "the real life joker," just to name a few. However, most of these accusations come when he's exploring one of his "hobbies," which tended to be a bit odd.He constantly craves stimulation, which is why he has so many hobbies and projects going at the same time, this is also why he drops so many of these hobbies after a short time, often citing boredom. On the outside he seems like a bombastic young man that's too smart for his own good and is "just a little bit completely insane" as he puts it. He tends to be charming, if a bit manic, that somehow draws people in. However, if they attempt to become more than a casual acquaintance he tends to lash out to keep them at a safe distance. Underneath his facade he's a very insecure individual that lacks the confidence to see many of his endeavors through, as well as subconsciously loathing himself from a less than ideal childhood. What is ironic is the fact that Jay is almost completely aware of these faults, he just doesn't care enough to try to fix it. He often jokes that under his thin layer of charm he's a raging asshole. However, the few people that are able to get through this barrier are richly rewarded for their efforts. To the handful of people that he is close too, Jay is a solid friend that would always have your back. The kind that would go to jail for you if you needed him too, which he actually has in the past. Once he has made a close relationship with someone he is extremely supportive, as well as fiercely protective, regardless of the consequences for himself. He is often the confidant of his group, as well as the protector, a role that has been translated to his choice of avatar in Elder Tale. These relationships are a large part of the reason why he got the hell out of the country once he got a degree, and moved with his closest friends to England. Once free of the environment that caused him so much discomfort, he is starting to blossom, or at least be less of an ass to people he isn't comfortable around. |
Extra
Random BS:
Born Right handed, became ambidextrous after tying his hand to his waist for several months. "What if I break my arm?"
Ironically enough, he did break the arm due to it being tied up.
O negative blood type, but he hasn't given blood before.
He prefers dogs to cats, but unfortunately his flat doesn't allow large animals so he's stuck with his friend's Turkish Van.
He was extremely afraid of several things over the course of his life, and has conquered them through carious means, usually with fire. This caused a brief stint in jail when he decided he was afraid of heights and decided to climb a mountain.
He often finds work as an extra on movie sets so he doesn't have to pay for groceries, he has a small but dedicated following on certain websites that one doesn't find on a common Google search.
He is currently on several government watch lists, and he still hasn't gotten his homemade jet engine back from the FBI.

Biography
James Caulfield, a veritable Swiss army knife of discarded hobbies. Some of his notable endeavors have included foraying into the fields of: programming, electrical engineering, feudal sword smithing, and advanced thermodynamic physics. Luckily for the world, the future super villain he tended to lose interest quickly, just spending enough time to learn enough to get himself in trouble. He's the kind of guy that could take fix a garbage disposal, or turn it into a bomb, (though to be fair, that's not too difficult).
Jay was originally from the U.S. before traveling to the U.K. on a trip with friends. After slaving away at home he decided the best way to get away from home was to leave the country entirely. Working as a pharmacist while living with two of his friends in a flat. Between three different work schedules they weren't able to hang out very often, so Jay decided to try out an MMO that he had heard about at work.
Elder Tales, apparently this thing was nearly older than he was, but some new mega expansion was going on and he "absolutely HAD to check it out!" Yeah, his friends were weird. So, finally got his computer set up after the move, logged in, and promptly got screwed with a bunch of other people. At least he probably has a good excuse for missing work.

Inventory
Young Shire: Cavalier starter mount.
EQUIPMENT
Left Arm Starter Great Shield: A starter great shield designed for novice adventurers, made out of cheap iron. It is well-balanced and easy to use but doesn’t really feel too sturdy. Its distinctively huge size allows for good protection if somewhat unwieldy. You probably should get this replaced as soon as you can. | Armor Starter Plate Mail: A basic set of plate armor made from cheap iron. They are not really too protective, but they are better than going naked—probably. You probably do want to replace these asap, when you think about it. | Right Arm |

CLASS SKILLS
Main Class: Guardian
Aura Saber: Swings the weapon around the user's body in a faint aura, then crashes it down upon the enemy. Multiple enemies can be struck by this attack by they are adjacent to the target. This skill increases targets' aggro on the user more than that of a regular attack. If this skill is used by Monks, the user will deliver an aura-enhanced swinging punch that delivers the same effects. This skill has an animation time of 2 seconds and a cool down of 5 seconds.
Anchor Howl: A loud sound wave is generated from the Guardian's position, encompassing the surrounding 5 meters in radius. This causes movement speed away from the Guardian to lower the farther away a target is. As a result, some might attempt to make a run for it by either dashing or jumping. These two actions trigger the second part of this skill, which delivers a heavy counter to punish a retreating foe. It effectively serves as a way to maintain the enemy's attention on the Guardian. This skill has an animation time of 3 seconds, maximum duration of 10 seconds, and a cool down of 30 seconds. If the Guardian moves from their initial position, this skill is canceled.
Knight's Heart: Toggle skill. Conventions of medieval warfare made it so that even the most heavily-armored knights tended to become the most difficult to take down, thanks to their trusty mounts. These teachings form the basis of this skill. While almost essentially a must-have for Guardian-Cavalier hybrids, it is still a fairly useful skill in the right circumstances. This skill raises the Guardian's aggro-attracting presence while in a mounted state. If this skill is used by a Guardian whose subclass is Cavalier, then they also raise a 10% bonus to AGI while mounted.
Roleplay Class: Cavalier
Jousting: The Cavalier's specialization in horseback combat is revealed in their greater proficiency of lance combat. Any two-handed spears or pole arms wielded by the Cavalier become one-handed while they are mounted. Additionally, if the Cavalier's main class would normally penalize them from using spears or pole arms, this skill allows them to use spears and pole arms without penalty.
Crafting Class: Alchemist
Transmutation: Alchemists are naturally aligned with the power of magical equipment, able to use the Adventurer skill [Equipment Mastery: Magical] as a Beginner-level skill without having it take up a skill slot. Their research also gives them an advantage in fighting Artificial Life to deal an additional 10% damage. If [Equipment Mastery: Magical] is already learned through racial or class bonuses, Magitech damage increases by 10%.
