| | Deadly eyes narrowed down on their prey distributed alongside many lander stalls, skimming through most of them, just as if hunting the best quality crustacean. With a pointy wooden stick in hands, she kept on her lobster hunt in the middle of londinium. Ignoring the typical big and healthy looking lobsters, she preyed on the medium-sized ones, since large lobsters have a slightly hard meat. Using the pointy stick the chef narrowed down the quality even further; by poking the back of the lobsters with it, she expected to see its tail slowly rise in response, which was a signal of fresh lobster, putting them all inside of a bucket full of water. With plenty of them to use on the request made by Chef Van Rouge, she now started to look around for good quality ham.
A good boar ham should have at least reddish to pinkish colors, lighter colors than that of a cow’s. While the landers certainly didn’t have the high tech ( such as genetical alterations and rations based on soy and maize) procedure to make healthy ham, Nutella could certainly try to search for good-looking ham. A few pokes using her stick here and there to check if the meat was compact, soft and firm to the touch would help. With the desired ham, she then proceeded back to her house. It’s gonna be a fun and busy day of cooking. |

| | Nutella wanted to start by preparing the lobsters. It was a bit unfortunate that she could only do one recipe to her liking. What a pity, she thought, but there was no helping it. First, she poured a good quantity of water in pan, lighting the stove and letting the pan on the fire to boil, sprinkling some salt over it. Putting two lobsters on a cooking table she picked up in one of her pockets a reel. Pulling some of the string, she used it to bind the lobster’s tail to its belly; she’d need to wait for a bit now, or maybe… She could start working on the Ham! With a wide smile on her lips, she picked up the ham in her bag, washing it with current water. Even after washing it, the ham was too salty. For now, she left it soaking inside of another pan to decrease the salt level.
Returning to the lobster, she could finally see the water boiling. Cooking lobsters is a tricky move; you can’t let it cook too much, or else, the soft meat hardens too much, making it hard to chew. Carefully, she dropped the lobsters inside the pan to let them cook, keeping a vigilant eye on them; the basic factor to tell whether a lobster is cooked or not is checking if it’s shell is in a vivid red color. Once the shell acquired said color she pulled the lobster and let it cool down on a cutting board. Using kitchen shears she cut the tip of the claws of each lobster and let it drain. Right after it she twisted off the claws and legs in one piece of all of them, doing the same to their tails. By placing the underside of the tail facing up on her hand, she used her kitchen shears once again to cut the shell on its center towards the tail end. By opening it up, she removed the meat in one piece.

| | Next were the claws and knuckles, which would be incredibly easy as well. First, she started by twisting off the claws and knuckles, separating them. Using the back of a simple kitchen knife with moderate size the chef cracked the shell of both just enough to remove the meat in once piece. With all meat ready, all she needed was to cut it in appetizer sizes. Once done, she packed it up in a simple pot and let it cool on the fridge.
With everything right, she’d need to start again. Picking up more two lobsters inside the bucket full of water, nutella put them inside a large pan with water, sprinkling some salt on it. Igniting the fire, she’d wait for now and let it cook, but since the boiling process of lobsters is no joke, she’d need a close and careful eye on them. However, thanks to the repetititve process, she couldn’t help but disentangle from her duty right now. A summer banquet, huh? Who would participate in it, by the way? The chef wondered if any of her friends would show up. Even better, she’d probably get the chance to meet other cooks and expand her knowledge in it, which made the idea all the more interesting. A banquet was a smart move as well. It’d easily help strengthen the bond between the adventurers and people of the land, which is something Nutella would not be left out of these interactions. Her project needed it and accomplishing her objective wasn’t so easy nor it was close, but regardless, another step would be taken towards a better future.

| | Once the lobster’s red became more vivid, Nutella removed the pan from the fire and drained the boiling water. After the lobster cool down, she used the shears once again to cut the tip of the claws and let the water inside leak from it. Using a simple dish towel to protect her hand, se twisted off the claws, knuckles and tails. Placing the tail with its “belly” upwards, she used the shears to cut it on the center towards the end of the tail. Opening up the shell, she easily removed the meat as a whole, which would make the process of cutting it in tiny pieces way easier. Consecutively, she twisted off the lobster’s claws from the knuckles and using the back of a kitchen knife carefully cracked the shell to remove each of them in one piece. Quickly cutting them the right way, she had another serving of grain lobster appetizer done.
Next was the boar ham and her chef’s entrée.
