"Come and take a walk on the wild side. Let me kiss you hard in the pouring rain. You like your girls insane…" Capsule's soft singing was the only disturbance in the otherwise still night. She was crouched on the floor of her basic kitchen, materials scattered on one side, literature on the other. Somewhere upstairs, Bosco was snoring on a small cushion he had claimed for himself. The dog was getting bigger and bigger by the day, though Capsule could hardly tell the difference, due to her seeing him on a daily basis.
Today's research involved a certain plant that was known for its medical purposes, but also had a bad habit of intoxicating people. The strain Capsule managed to get her hands on was free of such an debilitating side effect. Had it not been, getting this research accepted would be too much of a hassle to bother with. This little miracle plant was exceptionally useful in other areas, too, and could be combined with milk, butter, made into capsules (heh), smoked, eaten, etc. It could even be used to make articles of clothing and the like, though she had her doubts that it was better than the standard materials.
Capsule glanced at the bag of herbs, and then the ampoule beside it, and released a nervous, breathy laugh. The ampoule was basically a small bong that operated under smaller, effective doses. Seriously, who came up with this stuff? 'At least it isn't actual drug paraphernalia.' It just simulated one, and bongs were not only used for illegal substances, besides. Some people smoked tobacco out of them, but it was uncommon, from what little Capsule knew.
Her research amused her for other reasons. It was designed with the intent to alleviate the blindness debuff, but there were only two monsters (that she knew of) that were capable of applying it. Those were the Channel Squid and the Crystal Reindeer. So it was not the kind of item Adventurers would purchase to go out hunting. It was better suited for player killers or player killer killers. Swashbucklers, Druids, & Summoners were the key offenders. Capsule knew this from extensive research done on all the classes. She knew what to expect from the people who would request this new drug.
The laughter in Capsule's throat died down to a grim chuckle. She felt pretty damn devious about the whole affair, but knew that some people simply could not be trusted -- especially if they were capable of applying game changing debuffs to their enemies. And, seeing as how only Bards currently had a skill (Moon Tale Sonata) that added resistance to blindness, Capsule wanted to level the playing field. That was a tier three skill, too.
