“I would say both. As per supply and demand, as well as the respective crafting, this is a game world and one can create items via a menu. This takes out the option for amazing things, but it will cut down on the crafting time. In short: you would only create normal or common jetpacks.” The warden responded, moving his hands to accentuate what he was trying to explain. It would appear he did enjoy business talks quite much, talking substantially more than he would normally do. [break][break] “The workload would be situational. In general terms speaking, you would do almost all the work, because it is your shop. However that would be rather unfair and will ruin the economic system of the game quite a badly. As such I would like to offer you a second working place here. I have a garage for my mechanical tinkering and an alchemy lab and forge. This would make collaboration quite easy and as such increase profits. We could perhaps also instate a share system. There are fifty shares in your shop. These are divided 28 for me and 22 for you. Each share is worth 100 gold pieces. However, that would mean my investment is worth nothing. So we will value each share to have a worth of 115 golden pieces, the 15% we had agreed upon. Though, to be perfectly honest, this seems like quite the ruckus to me, and it will require quite the amount of math to come to terms we can both agree upon. Thus I think the easiest and quickest way to help each other would be to create a joint venture.” The warden spoke, giving yet another option, one that was viable but very, very complicated. [break][break] “As for your doubts and worries: Yes, war machines are on my list. Not to fight the Landers we know, but those corrupted and intent on doing harm. Building robots is an interesting idea, though we could perhaps start with smaller ones, ones that help gathering or carrying supplies, help with doing chores and so on?” the warden suggested, it was something he had been thinking of experimenting at, however, he was well aware that his levels were still low, probably too low, to even succeed at the more… modest creations. “There has been a rumour regarding a group of adventurers that have a desire to build a railroad system, perhaps that would be a good place to start?” he continued, hiding the fact that he as well had been contacted for the endeavour. ”That is true. I haven’t tried to make anything from the menu yet purely because I see the fun being drained from it very quickly. That said, a lot of hands-on experience means I get more experience making things in their purest form, which can be translated to inventing new things. Doing things by the menu does have an element of convenience, but will people want the real deal, made by hand instead? I heard a thing about Chefs and Brewers with alcohol, so we’d want to avoid that as a sign of trust between us, the manufacturer and the consumer, being anyone we sell to.” Fletcher shifted uncomfortably in his seat at the thought of a customer falling mid-flight while using one of their jetpacks. Not the prettiest of thoughts, but should be completely unavoidable if they developed them well enough.
Then math happened. Fletcher tried keeping up with the figures that Bailin started spouting and got lost. His expression would have given away if Bailin hadn’t caught on by his lack of response to the numbers side of things. ”Well… In the event we work on collaborations, would our ‘base of operations’ as such be my shop or your garage? I’d be inclined to assume the garage given the setup for both of us to get to work, although I’m almost certain you’d wish to use something you’re paying for whenever you could. Either way, let’s uh… avoid the shares system.”
Fletcher frowned as he listened to Bailin’s response to his worries. War machines were on the list after all, and made Fletcher sigh. Granted, the response as to why they were was very paladin-like. He’d save the discussion of morality and who exactly fell into the category of ‘intent on doing harm’ for later, after they had settled business. What he did like was the use for robots to assist in chores. He’d assisted in a caravan escort before and a lot of Landers didn’t like traversing where monsters roamed without protection; such robots could give them more autonomy and for things like meats and produce, cooling systems could allow their goods to be on the road longer without spoilage. ”Refrigerated carts perhaps? I have an idea on how we could rig up that cooling system; means meats and vegetables wouldn’t spoil as fast on their way to market.” He shrugged and then responded to the question about the railway. ”I’ve heard the rumours, and can’t say I understand what the intention is. I know little about it, aside from St Pancreas being an old station and has been refurbished into a market. Wouldn’t hurt to start there though, is anything the excersize could bring about some inspiration for our own gain.”

“Indeed, however, it will be the quickest way to create items and they still function as they should. Just not… better. Though I suppose the probability and experience would be a bonus. “the warden replied agreeing with the summoner. [break][break] “I agree, it was yet another option to manage the financing, though as we both experienced, it is rather… undesirable due to its complexity. Personally I don’t mind having you over to work, create and invent. The reason for this is simple: the easiest way to make money is to produce. Whether you work here or you work at your shop would be up to you. If we were to create said robots, refrigerated carts and the likes, it would be wiser to create it here, as the access to both garage and alchemical lab is here, decreasing travel time and potential expenses. This will result in more time spent researching as well as producing, which in turn should result in more items sold, and thus more profit.” Said Bailin almost cheerful. [break][break] “I think we have talked enough to know what we both desire and need from each other. We both agree that a partnership, divided 55% and 45% in my favour is acceptable. The point of creating advanced weaponry is debatable; however, if we create other items for general, peaceful, purposes there are no qualms from either end. This leaves the total sum of money, as well as the formal part of the contract to be written and signed. Would you agree to this summary, do you have anything to add?” the warden spoke, kindly, fairly certain the dwarf was indeed a solid investment. [break][break]

Fletcher nodded in agreement to the logic that Bailin was putting forth to the query of where they would work. It made sense given that the likelihood of the shop that Fletcher would be buying was probably more akin to a house with the lower of two levels, if there was even a second level, being the storefront and he’d live in around that as the main aspect of the property. Bailin enjoyed talking about business strategies, or perhaps he was just a miser that enjoyed the prospect of making a buck. That said, everything he had outlined as a joined venture had both been logical and with the outset to maximise profits; Fletcher had absolutely no issues with this. Having the extra space did also mean that he’d be able to get more chances to thinker with some of the more mundane mechanic side of crafting rather than just brute forcing results by applying more magic. He also wanted to know how firearms worked, and a garage was going to be a good place to start. ”Agreed. Having access to the garage means that we can move into developing hunting tools easier as well, I’ve been struggling with how guns and alike work with just my own skillset, and upsizing from that seems easy enough in theory. Transportation seems to be the niche everyone’s targeting at the moment, but I think we can do better than what people currently are testing.”He smiled, nodding once more to the accountant. ”Summary sounds fine to me. Nothing to add given we both seem to be on the same page. I’m ready to sign the contract when you are.”Word Count: 277 -AP CLAIMED-
