Klide woke to the singing of birds all around him. He had found a tall oak to sleep in, and all around, the trees rang with the songs of starlings and house sparrows. He drew himself up out of the nook in the branch where he had spent the previous night. His two katana rested on either side of his belt. Once he was on his feet, he let out a loud yawn and stretched his arms and legs before jumping from the branch. He hit the ground already tucking and was up on his feet after a simple roll. The sleeveless shirt he had worn had danced lightly on the way down, but it now lay motionless against his skin. He also wore black loose legged pants reminiscent of a samurai's Hakama pants . He walked through the tall grass towards a nearby creek he could hear seeping and dribbling off not to far from him. He soon found his way to it's bank and lowered himself to his knees. His hands sank into the glittering stream and while they were submerged, the water splashed and danced around his wrists. He brought his cupped hands up and washed the sleep from his face. Then he rose to his feet and shook his hands and head, little drips of cool water flying away onto the surrounding grasses. He turned from the ebbing brook and began to make his way towards town. As he drew closer, Klide began to smell sweet breads in the air, and could hear the occasional laughter from the people on the streets, though the streets were not nearly as full as they would be. It was still rather early in the morning, but withing the next hour or so, the streets would flood with people, some going out on quests or jobs, and others simply out to buy something from the market. Klide had nothing he needed to buy, but he wanted to get some breakfast before starting the day off, and he got the feeling that something interesting may happen today. Keyala looked down to the ground, offering a small sigh, her fox-like ears giving a slight downward tilt, she was lost. Even with a map, the streets of the city still managed to confuse her. Her red fox tail draged against the ground as she walked in her basic cloth armor, loosely hanging on her. She held a hand to her stomach as it gave a growl, and with another sigh, she raised her head, looking to the various vendors on the street, and then into her magic bag. She grumbled as she counted each individual piece of gold that she had "Fifty....*%!#" she muttered to herself. Her eyes darted back to her staff, glaring at it, as if the makeshift wooden staff and it's under performing was the reason for her troubles. She opened her status menu, glancing to her skills. She seemed to stare at the Summon Golem skill. Out of nowhere, she began talking to the skill "Can you please be taller Rose? Come on...for me?" she begs to seemingly no one in particular. The tiny fox-tail girl closed her status menu, looking back down to the ground. She ran her hand through her hair, briefly playing with the fox ear on her head. This caused the rather sullen girl to smirk, as though she were still not used to the ear, and still very amused by petting her own ear. As people were beginning to work their way out onto the streets for breakfast, Keyala would pull up her hood, hiding both her fox tail and her ears, she would have blended seamlessly into the crowds of people if not for her height. She pulled open her status menu once more, following the minimap as she starts talking to no one again "Well Rose...atleast I can talk to you." she says. As she spoke, she began to once more fail to follow the minimap, or notice the person in front of her. She walked straight into an adventurer in front of her, a human Swashbuckler with Hakama pants. She would fall flat on her behind, knocking her hood off, exposing her fox-tail ears once more, rubbing the back of her neck and still looking down, she closed her status menu, muttering "Sorry bud..." Klide was strutting along on the path minding his own business. He would occasionally look in on a stall where he knew the owner and would wave at the vendors as he passed them. At some point he saw a little light brown bird flutter past him and on to the roof of a tall, white, brick building. He got distracted by the bird, and began to look at the wood pigeons flying over the rooftops. From there his attention shifted to staring up at the sky, admiring how blue and clear the sky was, when he was suddenly jolted out of his admiration by something hitting his stomach. He looked down to find a rather small Fox tail on the ground. She sat there in front of him, rubbing her neck and looking down. He heard her quietly say " Sorry bud..." Klide dropped to his knees and apologized quickly. "Miss, please do not apologize to me, it was I who was at fault here. I am sorry that I was not paying more attention to my surroundings. Are you alright? I did not hurt you, did I?" He had his left hand resting on the back of his head and he was quite embarrassed for his ignorance. He offered his right hand and smiled lightly to the girl. "My name is Klide, and if you would be alright with it, I would happily treat you to breakfast as apology for bumping you. I may be wrong, but I get the feeling that you seem a bit lost." The crowds around them had grown, and travel would likely be a little slower now, as the streets grew busier and busier, not that Klide was in a rush. He had no plans for the day, and now he had had an interesting encounter. Keyala would glance up at the human, tilting her head as her eye narrowed, her face had turned a shade of red between embarrassment and anger. She shook her head, her hood falling all the way off, and her hair falling on her shoulders in a very disheveled state. It seems something set her off as she stood up, indignant, crossing her arms, she didn't even wait for him to stand back up. The fox-tail girl that is Keyala certainly looks very young, stood in front of Klide at only slightly over five feet tall. "I ran into you, simple as that, I was talking to Rose and got distracted" she said, very matter of factly, turning around and facing away from Klide. She seemed very intent on shunning Klide for some reason. Before Klide had the opportunity to walk away and take her distance seriously, her stomach loudly growls, as she hangs her head, clearly ashamed that she had just made that noise, she grumbles "B-but...breakfast sounds nice..." she says, tapping her hand against her magic bag as she realizes her shortness of gold. She would turn around before Klide would have any chance to speak, hands on her hips, a wide, confident smirk on her face "I'm Keyala, and I'm twenty three" she said, keeping her rather ridiculous stance. She seemed to put a lot of emphasis on her age, likely trying to point out that she is not a child, despite the fact that she, well, looks like a child. She would take one hand off her hip, offering it to help up the human on the ground"You're buying, right?" she asks hungrily "Cause I um...might be a little short on gold..." she says, rubbing the back of her neck with her other hand, her fox tail wagging eagerly behind her unconsciously, she looked very much like an eager child. Klide watched the spectacle of the girl narrowing her eyes, and shaking her hood off. He had then gotten up to her feet and crossed her arms, which to Klide seemed like a form of rebelling against his outstretched hand. It did not bother him, he had a past with rebelling and did not take it personally. He looked up at her sparkling blue eyes as she told him it was her fault they bumped. He kept his eyes on her eyes and said "Well if I thought it was my fault, and you think it was yours, than it was obviously both of us at fault. Nothing more nothing less. But who is Rose? and where is she?" He asked her this while looking from side to side wondering if he had missed someone. She had turned her back to him, possibly to avoid looking at him. "Hmmm, Maybe I embarrassed her with my gesture, or perhaps she is shy around guys? Who knows Klide." He thought to himself as he kept his eyes on her. He was not sure what to say, or if he should stand yet, but he did not wait long for a reply. A loud growl escaped her tummy and a smile once again found its way onto his mouth. She hung her head and resigned to Klides previous offer of breakfast. She turned to him with hands on her hips and stated her name and age with much confidence. Klide sprang to his feet and said "Well miss Keyala, age twenty three, It is a pleasure too meet you. Of course I will be buying, I said it was my treat, did I not? I am not surprised that you are low on money right now, most level one players are low on funds." He then realized that swords would not be the ideal thing to carry in these large crowds, especially ones custom made to be extra long. He pulled them from his belt and dropped them to the ground, simply concentrating on de-equipping them, and before they hit the ground, they were gone. "It may not be the traditional method, but I must say that I prefer it over accessing the UI and de-equipping manually. I find that it is more fun and I guess you could say I appreciate the small things in life" He explained to Keyala. "If you will just follow me, I will happily lead you to breakfast." He noticed her tail wagging from side to side and chuckled silently to himself, making sure she did not see. "It may have been a good thing that she told me her age, or else I would likely have assumed she was far younger than twenty three." He though to him self. He left his hands open by his side as he walked, and began to lead the girl towards her meal. Word Count: 483 Total Word Count: 648+483=1131 Tags: Keyala , Taise Tsu

"Perfect!" she said cheerily, looking around, she would pull her hood back up, concentrating on hiding her fox-tail nature for now as he tail vanished. She would go into her status window, unequiping the staff that had been on her back through the menu "I'm still working on the mental aspect of this...it seems like it would probably be an interesting thing to study how that happened once things settle down in this world more." she says, still skimming through her status menu, she looks briefly to Klide before chuckling "Rose and I have been trying to get materials so I could map and do research...but unfortunately that hasn't gone too well, seeing as I'm level one and broke." she says, still browsing her status menu as she begins to walk in the wrong direction, away from Kilde. She seems easily distracted as she thought to herself "S**t...I look like I'm talking about some imaginary friend when I mention Rose...It might be even weirder that my Golem has a name.." She audibly sighs, lowering her head a bit as she continued to wander away from Kilde unless stopped. "Maybe I should just explain to him that I'm not actually crazy...I mean...maybe I am a little crazy, but what does that matter? We're all trapped in a damn game, we all must be at least a little crazy, right? What if he makes me pay for breakfast when I say that? I can't afford that, I need research materials to do sigilmaking and scribe stuff with..." As she continued to rant to herself in her head, she would ignore anything said by Klide, even if he did notice her wandering off, unless he physically lead her back on the path, she would continue to wander. As her concentration faded, her tail would reappear, absentmindedly swaying about, bumping into anyone near her.

Klide turned quickly. He only had one companion to pay attention to, and the fact that she was not by his side confused him. He turned to see a slightly shorter, hooded figure sinking deeper and deeper into the crowd. "Man, that girl really is like a child" He mumbled to himself as he began to pursue her. He got the feeling that she would get her self into trouble if she kept wandering around, not knowing where she was going. Klide lost her for a moment and panicked. she was not moving away too fast, but due to her height, or rather lack of it, she was easily lost in the large crowds of people. Klide decided to get up on higher ground so that he could see her better. He gave himself a running starts as he bolted for a near by stand. He leaped right before reaching it and kicked off of a large stack of crates. He stretched his arms out above him and grabbed hold of the bottom of the railings on someones balcony. He pulled himself up and climbed onto the balcony, looking out over the crowds of people for a small woman with a wagging tail. Unfortunately, Fox Tails were not uncommon choices for players, so he saw several before he spotted the little one he was looking for. He leaped from the balcony like a cat, and on his way down, shouted to the people below to clear out a little. They backed off far enough that he did not land on anyone, and as he ran towards her, he turned to them and apologized. "This girl... when I offered her breakfast I was not expecting a full on chase on the streets." He chuckled as he ran. He soon had her in his sights and after many rushed "Excuse me" and "I am sorry" he reached her side. He planted a hand on her shoulder and said "Miss Keyala, I would appreciate it if you did not just wander off at random like that. I said before that you seemed lost. I can take you to one of the larger breakfast stalls, which should be on your map, and then you can get your bearing from there, ok?" He dropped his hard from her shoulder and it found its way into her hand. He held it firmly, though not tight enough to cause discomfort. "Please, if you ever want to ask something, go right ahead, I am more than willing to answer any questions you may have. Though perhaps you could start by answering one of mine? Who is Rose, I am sorry to pry, but i am quite curious about this mysterious friend." Klide kept hold of her hand as he guided her past where they had met.

She blinks a few times, closing her status menu as he begins to guide her, looking around "R-Rose?" She said as she looked down "Oh...I did mention Rose..." She mutters, finally headed in the right direction "Rose is Uh...my golem...since I summon the same one every time, just with different materials...". The girl runs her hand through her hair, rubbing her fox ear again, as she thought to herself " Dsmn...he's gunna think I'm crazy...talking to lines of code in a game...". She looks down at the ground "Sorry I got distracted right there..." She mumbles, sighing. "I-I'm not crazy! I must sound it...I Uh...don't talk to a ton of people." She said, the fox tail vanishing as she focused again "Also, the wandering off is something I've always done, I get distracted in my thoughts and then I just...yeah, so..." She says, her right ear giving a small twitch. "You never did tell me your name" she says, but she never gives Klide a moment to talk, just continuing her 'I'm not crazy speech'. "Yeah, I never started talking to Rose until I got here, and she doesn't talk back, but its comforting knowing there is a golem I can call that's even shorter than me. What class and subclasses are you? Part of any guild? Ever done a raid! I wanna do a raid! They sound so much fun, and I can hide in the back and summon and smash things! I can even have my phantom scout. He's now a very good scout...he's quiet, but he helps I guess...I am so used to the American server, I never played when I got here, but when the expansion came out, I had to. I mean...its a good expansion...minus the whole stuck in the game thing...if that was the intent its cool, like, really cool, I have less work to do at the moment, which is nice, but I'm still only a little taller than I was in real life sadly..."

Klide began to nod in understanding as Keyala told him about how Rose was her golem. When she apologized for wandering off he smiled and said "Don't worry about it, I kind of had fun chasing you down through the masses of people." He was interrupted by a sudden outburst from the small girl about how she was not crazy, and how she must sound like she is, but she isn't the most social butterfly. He continued to hold her hand and guide her through the crowd. He suppressed a giggle, then chuckled for a moment and that grew until he began to laugh loudly. "You must have gotten very lucky miss Keyala. I may be the one person here crazier than you in that regard. I treat one of my swords like a living thing sometimes. Hell, it's description even describes it like a wild animal, saying it will be hard to tame it. I once said to a friend, and I quote, "That sword is a monster. Ragnarok is not a blade easily tamed, but I like to think he has become fond of me. He is far less taxing to use than he was when I first got him, but he is a wild animal still, and in many a battle has he born fang against me. I am sorry that I cannot offer him to you, but I wish not that he kill a friend so dear, and will ergo not risk him in the hands of another, even if that someone were to have more skill with blades than myself." So you have nothing to worry about miss Keyala, I understand talking to a bit of coding. I think you also got lucky because neither of us has talked to many people. I myself am usually more shy and reserved, I was especially so before I started going out and meeting other adventurers, hunting boars and saving daughters. Yes, I did help save a friends daughter once, though it is a long story." He was rather confused when she said he had not yet introduced himself. "But miss Keyala, I did indeed introduce myself. While you were on the ground after we bumped into each other, I knelt and said "My name is Klide, and if you would be alright with it, I would happily treat you to breakfast as apology for bumping you." But if you happen to forget it again, I will gladly remind you." Klide was very relaxed around miss Keyala, which was quite unusual for him. He was generally rather reserved and quiet until he got to know someone well and became close friends with them. "To answer your questions, I am a Swashbuckler mainly, my craft is smithing, and my subclass is tracker, though I am considering a change to acrobat, which i think fits my style more. I am in no guilds as of yet, though I plan on joining one eventually. I have never done a raid, but I do have made plans for one with a friend, after which we will attempt to build a steam locomotive. I am glad to hear how excited you are about raiding, but how about we get that level up first huh? After breakfast we could go just out side of town where you can get used to summoning miss Rose, and after that, maybe we can find a slime or two for you to fight. Which reminds me, what are your classes?" Klide noticed where they were, they were getting close to the stall, though this entire street smelled of breakfast, eggs, bacon, waffles, pancakes, it all smelled very fresh.

She gave a small sigh, aiming her head down towards the ground "Crap...he thinks I'm acting like a kid...why does everyone always think that? Miss Rose? Sounds like a freaking toy that some little girl would have..." She thinks to herself, looking up as soon as the smell of food reaches her nose. Both of her fox ears give an excited twitch while her tail wags unconsciously once more. "Me? Oh, Summoner, Scribe, Sigilmaker. It seems like a good combination for researching stuff in here, plus in real life I did data entry for the United States's State Department at the Embassy in London, which was more of a starting job really, but I made some good contacts. Thankfully I can just transfer my skills with writing on the computer to writing on paper. My only problem is that as a scribe, I make maps, but London confused me, no matter how long I worked here...or well, there, I guess this isn't technically London, more of just a copy after an apocalypse, I mean, London streets were always laid out like an apocalypse happened, so this is fitting I suppose, even Boston is easier to navigate." She takes a long, deep breathe, as most of what she had ranted was non-stop, with very little time taken to breathe, this girl certainly has the energy to ramble. "And it's good you treat your swords like living things, like...in this world who knows, that description could be more accurate than you think, that's kinda what I want to find out as a scribe. I'm hoping I can get some gold and get some materials to do some research, but you know...Rose isn't quite strong enough to make much gold yet, and I guess I've been a bit...reckless" she says, finally pausing and rubbing her neck, her disheveled hair falling along the back of her robes lightly. As she smells the food, she begins drifting towards it, tugging at Klide's grip if it happens to be the wrong way "Gods that food smells good, I mean...someone else is paying...so I shouldn't eat too much...right? Cause I could make him go broke if I listen to my stomach" She thinks to herself, stomach growling again as she sets her free hand onto it, licking her lips lightly as she continues to follow the smell of food.

Klide agreed with the girl about the lay out of the city, it seemed rather odd or poorly planned, with so many awkwardly angled intersections. He had not seen it from above, as he had never seen a map of London before, but he assumed it looked somewhat similar to the web of a spider from how he remembered it while walking around. "As for the sword miss Keyala, I think it may be you who does not know just how alive it is." He said kindly, not trying to be rude or condescending at all. "The sword drains my strength and I feel like with every swing I am fighting against it to guide it to the goal. It has gotten easier, but it is still rather difficult sometimes. Much more so than with my Katana. It's fine that miss Rose is not quite what you would consider strong. I would not expect that of her either. As I have said before, your level is too low for now and that means your strength is low as well, but fortunately for you, there are plenty of ways to level up. I am certain you will have no problems going up in level. You will likely reach level 10 or even 20 before you know it." As they had approached the food stalls and small diners, Keyala had begun to tug at Klides hand, trying to enter the food stalls one after the other. "Not quite yet miss Keyala, we are getting very close, please wait just a little longer." Klide had decided that instead of a stall, he would go to an actual breakfast diner today. He had a guest, and treating her to breakfast on the roof top balcony of a diner on the street corner did not seem like a bad idea. With how mild and nice the weather was, it might be soothing to sit outside and munch on some eggs as a cool breeze washes over them. "Ah, There it is!" Klide pointed towards a four story red brick diner on the corner of the street. He guided Keyala through the crowds of people who were stepping in and out of the diners and stalls. As they entered, the smell of breakfast foods became rather intoxicating. He led the girl up a few flights of stairs and they soon found their way to the roof top. There was only one table open, close to the low wall surrounding the roof top. "I guess we will be sitting over there. I hope you do not mind being on the edge, I know a few people who are not the most comfortable with heights. If nothing else, the view should be very nice. We have a pretty clear view of the river Thames glittering in the morning light." He had guided her to the table, and was seated, waiting for a waiter to come. There were already menus on the table, and before picking his own up, Klide looked at Keyala and said "Go ahead and get what ever you would like, I do not mind." Then he picked up his menu and began to skim over the elegant hard written text. Word Count: 535 Total Word Count: 2210+535=2745 Tags: Keyala , Taise Tsu

She looks down to the menu, her eyes occasionally and nervously glance towards the balcony, she seems to be sitting more on the side of the seat away from the edge as she sits down. The fox girl knocks her hood off of her head, her ears tweaking slightly as she reads. She attempts to look as calm and collected as possible, but if Klide looked hard enough, he would see that she is obviously terrified of heights. However, based on how the girl has acted previously, calling her out on it and bringing attention to it may not be the best course of action. "Yeah, it sounds pretty easy to level early on...I just...kinda am still working on the coordination aspect of it. I keep trying to use my skills from the menu, and I forget that I can call them out, then Rose gets beaten and I have to run before the mobs get me. I've probably been challenging too high level of mobs, so slimes would be a good idea." she says, setting her menu down. The fox girl looks out over the balcony and into the ruined city of London, briefly forgetting how high off the ground they are, she seems to take in the sights of the city, still in awe of the size of the city, she seems to be trying to make a note of every single point, to better understand the layout "I want to try and make a map of the city and region soon, raise my scribe skill, could be useful to my research into the world here, maybe I could sell some maps too, make some gold on that. Oh, and sorry I kept wandering off back there, it's uh...just how I've always been, it was easier to manage in the real world, but here, there are so many more distracting things, and I just follow my nose, maybe it's partly being a fox that's made it worse." she says, chuckling before her eyes glance down somewhat and she jumps back, realizing that she had been slowly creeping closer towards the edge. With this, she nearly falls out of her chair "Oh f-" she says, catching herself as the waiter arrives, to which she gives him her order, all in one breath she begins "Lets see I'll have bacon and eggs the eggs can be scrambled and some can be over easy so just give me two orders and then I'll have rye toast and then I'll have some french toast..." , she finishes, taking a deep breath "And milk" she says, once again managing to sound like a child accidentally.

Klide listened intently as Keyala began to talk about her previous efforts in combat. "Ah yes, in the heat of battle we often forget to do things which may prove quite helpful. Especially when we are not used to doing such things. If we do go out training after this, I will make an effort to remind you to utter your skills rather than manually activating them. But I am quite sure that miss Rose does not hold it against you that she has taken a beating or two." He watched as she looked out over the city. He had suspected that perhaps she really was afraid of heights when she sat down on the edge of the seat further from the edge, but there she was looking down and out over the city, maybe he had been mistaken. She then told him about how she wanted to map out the city, both to help with her research, and to possibly make some gold by selling the maps. "Do not worry about the wandering off. As I said before, I found it kind of fun to chase you down through the crowd. I agree about this world being very distracting. Though, I do not think I have ever wandered off because of it. Maybe your acute senses do make things even more distracting then they were." Klide was stopped by a sudden surprise outburst from Keyala. She had looked down, then suddenly sprung back and had almost fallen from her chair. Klide had sprung out of his ready to catch her, but she caught herself and, quite fortunately, did not fall. "Miss Keyala, are you alright? What happened? Was I correct in assuming that you are indeed afraid of heights? I am sorry for making you uncomfortable here." Just then, the waiter arrived and took her order. Klide looked up at the waiter and smiled. "Could I please just have eggs, over easy, some bacon, and a glass of water?" He then gave the waiter the menu, who left with their orders. Klide then stood and asked Keyala to scoot back a little. He picked up the table and moved it a few feet from the edge and then placed it there. He then moved the chairs and said "I hope this will be more comfortable for you, I am sorry I did not ask you before we came up here." He was getting a few odd glances from some of the other customers, but nothing he was worried about. Word Count: 420 Total Word Count: 2745+420=3165 Tags: Keyala , Taise Tsu

For a few moments, she remains exactly where she was, looking away from the edge. She closed her eyes and tilted her head up, clearly trying to signal that it was unneeded to move the table. She likely is still attempting to prove that she isn't a kid, although every time she does, she just ends up looking more like a stubborn little girl. After a few moments however, she opens her eyes, looking to the edge nervously. As she peers over the edge, she manages to turn even more pale than before, as the chair makes a very loud and very noticeable noise as it is dragged along the floor, attracting more odd looks from people. Keyala looks around as she plants her chair back in place, noticing the curious stares of the people around her, and she pulls her hood up over her head once more, her tail fading as she looks down at the table, opening her status menu silently, scanning the minimap once more with a sigh "Maybe if I just sit here and memorize this map they'll stop staring..." the girl thinks to herself, giving another sigh as she looks away from the map, closing the menu and looking towards Klide. "I get it's probably your thing...but it's Keyala, not /miss/ Keyala, same with Rose, it sounds like you're patronizing me. Just givin' ya' the heads up, because you seem innocent enough, but say that too much and I will try and slug you straight across your face. I am an adult, even if I don't look it." she says, leaning back and crossing her arms. This is likely the first time she's acted mature-ish since Klide has met her. She makes eye contact briefly, before her eyes begin to scan the room once more, clearly trying to see if anyone is still giving her weird looks. She would set both of her hands onto the table as she notices someone at another table give her a brief, confused glance. She links her fingers and twists her wrists outward to give her knuckles a very audible crack "That's right...look away..." she says, giving a wide, fox like smirk as she chuckles, clearly having fun with herself. Without warning she unlocks her fingers, rather audibly snapping and pointing her right index finger into the air "I just had an idea! Ooooh....what if I summoned Rose using gold...a Gold Golem...maybe it'd be super powerful..." she says, pronouncing her revelation to no one in particular, as she addresses most of her ideas for some reason "After this, lets try!"

Klide sat and watched as Keyala once again seemed to rebel against him, probably not wanting to cause a scene about moving from the edge, but as she looked over the edge, her face turned pale and she dragged her chair over to the new location of the table. Once she was seated she covered her head with her hood, concealing herself from all the prying eyes around them. "Miss Keyala, do noot mind any of them, we have done nothing to be ashamed of. Let them look." Keyala then closed her menu and looked at Klide. She then told him rather bluntly that she did not like being called /miss/ Keyala. She then told him that he seemed innocent enough, but that if he kept referring to her as such, she would punch him in the jaw. She finished by stating that she was an adult, even if her appearance implied otherwise. "Ah, so this is about her appearance. She wants me to see her as and adult, and also think of her as such. I suppose I can stop with the miss thing, though I meant nothing by it as far as insults go. And to think that she thinks I am patronizing her. But that she though I was innocent? That one seems the oddest of all her points. I may be a bit younger than her, but I would not say that makes me innocent. Though I suppose there are many different things I could be innocent about." Klide thought to himself before replying. "Miss... I am sorry about that... I guess it has kinda stuck." He scratched his head and looked down for a second, then he made a second attempt at replying, this time without the "Miss" in the mix. "Keyala. I did not mean to make you feel less grown up when I called you "Miss Keyala." Quite on the contrary, I said it because I knew you were mature, and I felt that that was a good way of expressing it, though it seems I was wrong on that, huh?" He pressed his right palm on the back of his head and blushed in shame and embarrassment, giving a light smile as he began to speak again. "Sure you can be a bit quirky with your habits, wandering off and such, but that does not instantly mean you are a child, or any less of an adult than I am. Whose to say what truly defines an adult. Some say it is age, but that is just a number expressing how many times you have revolved around the sun to others. I am not sure I have an opinion on the matter, I want to be able to have my inner child with me even when I am several decades older than I am now. Now if you want to punch me in the jaw than go right ahead, but save it for when we leave town. I would not want you to get in trouble with the cities Royal Guards. In case you do not know, when there is combat between players in the borders of a city, or other safe zone, they appear, and deal with who ever caused the problem, usually through a lot of force. A level one or a level fifty, it does not really matter to them." He was almost done with his little rant, but then he remembered his last question. "What did you mean by saying I am innocent anyway? I was thinking for a moment, and it kind of confused me." He then sat back and waited for her response to all that he had said. After that, she made some aggressive signs towards a lander who was still looking in their directing, and Klide thought to himself that with all the gestures of knuckle cracking and threatening to punch him, she may have been more at home playing a monk. but he did not say anything, not wanting to provoke her if she felt that he was insulting her again. Her eyes where lit with a sudden spark and she exclaimed that she should make her golem out of gold to see if it is more powerful. "Sure, I think that is a great idea. I do not really know all that much about the other classes in Log Horizon, so it will be a good learning experience for both of us. After we eat, I can take you to the forest and we can find us some slimes to slay." He grinned, seeing her sudden change of attention from threatening some poor villager, to making a golden golem. Maybe she was a little bit like a child, but Klide promised himself he would never admit it. Word Count: 795 Total Word Count: 3165+795=3960 Tags: Keyala

She chuckles, leaning back somewhat in her seat as she waits for their food to arrive. Against her instinct, she looks out over the balcony and into the city, still amazed at the design of it, even after all the time that has passed. She gave a small sigh as she opened her status menu subtly, examining her own levels "Damn...I should be better than this, I should be writing things, making maps and sigils and symbols. That way I could actually learn about this world and maybe make a difference. It seems so oddly organized still, even though everyone should be panicking, maybe there is a reason for that too." She closes her menu, turning back to Klide "I'm curious, is there anyone in charge in Londonium? It certainly doesn't seem it, I mean...the Landers don't even have a leader...how are there no people causing trouble, and no guilds that are that abusive? Seems too good to be true unless someone is pulling the strings...I dunno, I've always been curious about all that I suppose, compulsive need to gather information, I would have made a damn good spy or assassin, plus I'm small enough that no one would notice." she says, chuckling at her own humor, seems she has lightened up about her size as she begins to speak again "I'm really curious about the Landers more though...would be a fun journey, trying to find the king or queen of the Landers, maybe even become one. Maybe there is a sword in a stone somewhere, that'd be clever. I wouldn't put it past the designers of the original Elder Tale expansion. Some raid into the depths of a dungeon, or to the top of the mountain, and then the party would either appoint a king or fight for the crown. Maybe I'm speculating a bit much, letting my imagination stray and getting a little ambitious because it would be cool the be the queen of the Landers and the Unfounded Kingdom. Then again, I was working to get into American politics back in the Other World, so it's probably an extension of that ambition." she says, finishing her rambling with a near perfect analysis of her own motivation. At the same time, she seemed to be talking through Klide, and to Klide at the same time, like she was expecting some sort of crowd. This woman was definitely a politician, who would get serious and mature when it was convenient and needed.

After she turned toward him, having had been looking out over the city again, she asked his about the leadership of the city and the ones in power in the society of Elder Tale. Klide had his arm on the table and was leaning his head on his palm. His eyes followed Keyala and he listened intently, but he was also a little distracted for a few seconds as he thought to himself. "Well damn... She never did answer me on what she meant when she called me innocent, but maybe that just means it was not very important... Am I just over thinking things again?" When she finished her little speech, Klide Picked his head up and tried his best to give her the most informative answers he could. "Not to my knowledge, no. I am unaware of any leader of either the People of the land or of Londinium, though even if there was one, it would not effect me much. I spend most of my time out side of town, my nights spent sleeping in trees and my days spent hunting or exploring... adventurer stuff. On rare occasions like today, I will meet someone new, and maybe I might see them every so often after that. I have a few acquaintances here and there. Some I wish I could see a bit more often. But people get busy with their lives, adventuring, crafting, raising children, gathering, getting married too. So much happening in their lives. But I digress Keyala. So my answer to that is No, I do not think there is a leader of either. You ask how it is that no one is causing trouble, and how no guilds are being abusive, but I think that it would be more surprising if they were cruel or abusive. I think that the Royal Guard I mentioned earlier is why people do not cause trouble. They fear the consequences enough to avoid the crimes and causes. As for the guilds... I have met a few of the guild leaders, and they are such an honorable people that I have no fears as to their behaviors. They are adventurers who care about their members and friends. At least one of the guild leaders is married, and I have had the great pleasure of adventuring with the two of them. They are good people and I consider them to be my friends. Rumor has it that the Japan server has established a round table alliance of guilds, and i have heard talk of someone trying that on our side, but I do not know any more about that. I do not even know f they ever actually established anything." He listened as Keyala talked about wanting to learn more about the People of the land. "Learning about the People of the land should not be too hard, as they seem to be at least somewhat open to us adventurers. Some can be very kind and others can be extremely rude or cold. they are just like us in that regard. A queen? No, I am sorry to burst your bubble, but I do not think that many people would like the idea of a monarch leading them. Oh, so you were into politics back on the other side of things? Very interesting." Klide hoped that the information was enough to at least take the edge off of her hunger for knowledge. Just then, the food appeared, and it looked quite delicious indeed. "Gah, come on Klide, have some childlike wonder! This world is new and exciting, think of the opportunities! A girl can dream, can't she? I suppose innocent is the wrong way to describe you then...blunt maybe? No no...you have a trusting face maybe? You're hard to pin down...gah, the word is on the tip of my tongue too. Anyway, why can't I just dream and rant aloud, so perhaps blunt is the right word. You have to have something you want to envision yourself as in this world, right? Maybe a hero who goes and slays big creatures and protects the little people? Me, I want to lead something, and yeah, I'll admit I can act like a kid and look like a kid, but when I need to, I'm the most mature person you'll find." she says, with a sudden shift in her tone and posture. She sits up straight, linking her hands together on the edge of the table, with a very professional and business-like expression. She maintains it as the food is set in front of her, as she begins to speak again "This is a world that is honestly both a nightmare and a dream come true for a lot of people. Yes, we may be stranded from our friends and family, but we are in the world we would escape to from that life anyway, one where we could be whatever we want, or whomever we want. Tell me Klide, how did you always envision your character? What was his story that was so much more impressive than your life back home? Even if how I envisioned Keyala wasn't really feasible, and still may not be, I will keep at it. I hope you haven't forgotten all of that Klide, what your character was about." she finishes her speech, unlinking her hands and grabbing her utensils as she begins to eat at her food slowly, not exhibiting the ravenous hunger that it sounded like she was experiencing earlier. She seems like a totally different person for some reason, more collected, not the same scattered little red-headed fox girl that was wandering off on the streets. It seems that when she wants to make a point she will break into a more mature character, which begs the question if the child-like persona of Keyala is nothing more than an act, or if the scattered mannerisms of the girl even warp into her personality under a degree of her control.

He listened intently to what she had to say and did not reply for a while. She sat across from him, feasting on her breakfast quite gracefully, and Klide rested his elbows on the table. His hands were interlocked, and they were pressed lightly against his lip as he thought about all she had said, his brow slightly furrowed. Finally, after a few minutes of such thinking he slowly lifted his head and looked up at the face of his companion across the table. "I am sorry Keyala. you are absolutely right. I need to keep hold of the child like wonder I have left. This world is definitely exciting, and I always find something new to do or observe. You may dream of course, who am I to hold you back or tell you that you can not do something. I think that although in this situation you are right in labeling me as blunt, that is not usually the case. I tend to be far less blunt than I was just now, and for that I apologize. You can rant and say what ever you so choose, and I was not right in telling you that you can not become the Queen. If you want to lead than do it, and do not let any body tell you that you can not do something, or that it is not possible. You be the judge of what is possible for you. No one knows your limits like you do. For me, this world has never been a nightmare. I do not feel stranded here, quite on the contrary I feel far more connected with the people here than with any family or friends I may have back on the other side." Klide stopped for a moment and let out a short sigh. "I suspect that you want me to be completely honest with you correct?" "...Damn it Klide! what kind of stupid question is that, who wouldn't want honest answers?" "Then I shall. I have no reason to lie, and I have nothing to hide. I never honestly had a vision for my self. I do not think of this body as a character. For me, I feel more alive right now than I ever did back in the other world. I am sorry to say that I was not much back home. I was introverted which left me a little less social that others, along with that, I had some anxiety problems, so I would over think just about every thing and then I would end up not doing it. I spent most of my time at home, cooped up in my room, sitting in front of my computer and telling myself that I may have been born in the wrong era. I was fit enough. I was on the swim team at my high school, and I took good enough care of my body that I was never really over weight, but I was not active at all. Like I said, I was cooped up in my room, a prisoner of my anxieties and more simply, a prisoner of my own mind. In this world, I do not feel that way. I had a passion for swords in the other world, and now I can fight mobs with them flying around me. I do not feel like I have to hold back as much when I talk to people here, back on the other side I was much more shy. For me, this world is better than the one which I was born in. So to answer your question, I can not say that I had any ambitions or expectations for my character, but what I want for myself in his world is kind of simple and basic, and yet also difficult. I want to be there when my friends need me, I want to become strong enough that I fear no enemy. I want to continue feeling the same joy I have felt here ever morning since the Catastrophe. I want to find someone who I can love, and who will love me too, and I want to be able to call that person my own. I want to continue loving the way of the sword and to maybe help others learn it someday. I want build something permanent here, that is why I plan on making a train with a few friends and acquaintances some day. I want all of that, and I think that some day, I may actually have it. But before I can do any of that, I want to eat my eggs and bacon, and I want to help my companion learn some basics if I can." Klide picked up his fork and lifted a bit of egg to his mouth. It had a gently taste to it, very subtle, and he enjoyed the feeling of the hot liquid egg yolk flowing over his tongue. "I just wanted to say once more, If you want to lead people Keyala, Then I stand behind you. You can succeed at leading the people of this world. Even if it is not how you first imagine it. Who knows, you may decide to join a counsel of leaders instead of leading all by your lonesome."Word Count: 881 Total Word Count: 4543+881=5424 Tags: Keyala

The fox-tail girl reaches out, grabbing a piece of bacon, examining it for a moment with a look of childlike wonder in her eyes as she turns it over, bringing it up to her mouth as she takes a bite with a loud crunch, bringing a smile to her face as she shakes her head, lazily flopping her hand out, elbow on the table, pointing the bacon on Klide "No no no" she says, mouth full of bacon as she swallows, shaking her head once more, as her unkempt hair shakes with it, falling over her glasses. She brushes the red hair out of her eyes "One hundred percent honesty is bad. In the end, no one wants that, sometimes you have to lie, so lets agree to ninety percent honesty. I think that's a fair number" she finishes her speech once more, looking down to her plate as she begins to cut into her french toast, almost drooling over it. "You're kind of like a Knight, you know that? Like, part of some order of New World Knights. The Order of New World Knights. Nah...The Knight Order of the New World? Ah...that's so close to a cool acronym, if you could do Knights of the New Order World it could be 'Know', which would be bad ass. But anyway, part of an order of knights and other people who protect and better this world, is there anything like that here? Or is all about being an Adventurer, because to be honest, I think that the fact we are immortal, we need to protect this world more than ourselves, because we don't know what our effect is and we don't know how long we'll be here. Perhaps in the end we'll have to do something about that, eh? You'd know what's going on around here better than myself though I suppose." she says, taking a bite of her french toast that was drowned in syrup, she lets out a small 'mmmm' as she closes her eyes, enjoying the food. "I probably sound like some crazy idealist...then again, that's nothing new, considering back home they called me a Communist...but maybe I can afford to act on ideology here...try for something good, after all, what do I have to lose? Maybe I'll have to start by mapping some of the uncharted territory...I wonder how far north people here have been, maybe once I level enough I should try and take a party to Scotland...maybe some of those people I met the first day...or maybe I'll try to join a guild, although I'd have to deal with someone else in charge...choices choices Keyala..." She thinks to herself as she continues to idly chew on her food, eyes half closed as she takes her hand holding her fork, and uses the back of it to push up on her glasses.
