Ruby
Character Info
REAL NAME: Kayla Dessous
REAL GENDER: Female
GAME GENDER: Female
AGE: Twenty five
SEXUALITY: Heterosexual
FACE-CLAIM: Rubi Malone, WET
PLAYED BY: Jake-Dor
RACE: Human
FACTION: Adventurer
Appearance Ruby is a young woman in her mid twenties, she is five foot seven inches tall, weighs roughly one hundred and twenty pounds, has a lean figure and a average bust size. Under normal circumstances Ruby has black hair that hangs loosely around her shoulders and green eyes. While down is her chosen style when it comes to hair, in some situations her hair is tied back with a black leather string into a pony tail. Ruby's arms are all covered in colorful tattoos. Each represents a successful mission or so is her story. Ruby's go to outfit is mostly a simple one based off real world designs. A tight red a-shirt that exposes some of her midriff, a brown leather jacket that Ruby keeps closed by a single button, on the back of the jacket is the sheath for Ruby's sword. Her pants are made of leather matching her jacket that fit snugly to her figure. On each thigh Ruby wears a holster for a pistol and spare ammunition, on her back attached to her belt she carries a dagger and several throwing knives. On her feet are black combat boots that buckle just above the ankle. Ruby also carries a red handkerchief on her at all times, never know when you'll need a mask or a makeshift bandage. Ruby does have other outfits she can wear, variations of styles of armor and clothing suited for recreation, traveling and so on. Although good luck getting her into them, she would probably shoot you just for asking. | Personality In-game, Ruby is a strong willed young woman, she is persistent, headstrong, brave and determined. However, with all her heroic traits, she has some not so good traits even though some of the previous ones could be taken negatively. As a mercenary for hire all Ruby cares about is if she gets paid and if she is having fun. Greed and pleasure define her dark side, whether it's through drinking alcohol, blowing things up or flirting with that shy maiden as long as it's fun she's good. Outside the world of debauchery for profit Ruby loves adventuring and loves having a good time. She is usually quiet and keeps to herself because of the negativity related to her trade but will happily open up to those she trusts. Trust is something Ruby cherishes but her trust is not easily gained. Whether its through a show of good faith or usefulness, once Ruby trusts someone she wont turn her back on them, ever. Ruby often expresses a calm and collected demeanor in sticky situations but underneath she is quick to anger and will hold a grudge against most who wrong her, directly or indirectly. Ruby identifies as an Asexual or having no or little romantic preference in gender, she has an unconscious habit of leaning towards choosing males but this is more of her real personality leaking through than anything else. Of course, all this was about Ruby the character, so now about Kayla the gamer. Kayla is similar to her in game personality in some ways, even more so now that she has become her character. Kayla isn't greedy to the point Ruby is, but she does love to have fun in some of the less extreme ways Ruby does. Kayla also has more patience and less of a temper than Ruby. Lastly Kayla identifies as Heterosexual but could be considered Bisexual if her actions as Ruby are taken into consideration. |

Biography
Kayla has led a normal life up until now, she was born into a small town in the central eastern part of the states. Did well in school, wasn't much of a party goer instead she turned to video games and the internet for her entertainment. It didn't take her long to discover roleplay and get addicted to telling the story of a character she created. It was around the time of her eleventh year in school that Kayla discovered MMORPG's and their players unique approach to roleplaying. While not as satisfying as forum based methods, the mixture of her two favorite things sold MMOs for her. Kayla became a hardcore roleplayer, always in character, always thinking what her character would do next as she played them.
Every gamers dream job is to work in some part of the industry and Kayla was one of the lucky few who managed to achieve this. Getting a job as a lore article writer for a fan site for her favorite MMO, eventually Kayla got a promotion to the group of people that reviewed games for her fan site's parent company. Luckily because of her experience with MMOs Kayla had a general understanding of how Elder Tale worked, it wasn't much different than the others, kept it was more real than any game she had ever played and that is when the real adventure begins.
Inventory
Starter bullet: Basic shot used in firearms. Not powerful by any means, but it is cheap.
EQUIPMENT
Left Arm Starter Pistol: A crudely made one-handed starter weapon for adventurers. It is a single shot weapon and must be reloaded after every shot. | Armor Starter Leather Armor: A basic set of soft leather armor made from cheap leather. They are not really protective, but they are better than going naked—probably. You probably do want to replace these asap, when you think about it. | Right Arm Starter Dagger: A small knife often used as a tool when it isn't used in battle. A starter weapon designed for novice adventurers, made out of cheap iron. It is well-balanced and easy to use but doesn’t hit particularly hard at all. You probably should get this replaced as soon as you can. |

CLASS SKILLS
Main Class: Assassin
Fatal Ambush: Physical Attack. Assassins are known for their deadly strikes, often being able to slay in a single strike. This technique is the first of the many massive damage attacks the Assassins have under their repertoire. It is a crude version however, a novice skill that serves more as the basis and foundation for future, more poetic, techniques. Requiring a long preparation time, the Assassin must focus onto their target, limiting their perception and leaving them vulnerable to other attacks, as they search for a weak point. Then by focusing all of their strength into one strike, the assassin strikes their target with all of their might into a single point, dealing critical damage. The mental exertion required taxes the mind heavily however, and the technique can only be used sparingly. This skill has an casting time of 5 seconds before it may be used. When it is used, Fatal Ambush has an animation time of 1 second and a cooldown of 60 seconds.
Wind Bullet: Toggle skill. A skill that is usually performed with a free hand, making it a useful technique for Monks and characters who wield only a single one-handed weapon. It can also be used with an actual firearm, causing wind bullets to be fired whenever the gun is not loaded with any form of ammunition. Its bare handed version is performed by extending the thumb and index finger while curling the other three fingers, as though a gun gesture is being made. Thanks to the toggle function of this skill acting as a safety, it can be turned off for those times where you don't want to accidentally shoot people because of your careless gestures. By pressing down the thumb or trigger, a concentrated shot of air is expelled forward from the index finger or barrel, causing a minor recoil from the shot. Wind bullets shot from this attack are fairly weak and are used more often to subdue or stall an opponent. This skill has a range of 10 meters, an animation time of 0.5 seconds, and a cooldown time of 1 second.
Magnum Shot: Ranged skill. The user pulls the string of the bow with great force and fires a projectile at the target. The force of the impact causes the monster to be knocked back up to several meters depending on its size. This skill gains a lot of aggro if it successfully hits an opponent. While considerably more difficult, it's said that some rangers use this skill at point-blank range while tanking a monster's attacks in order to control its position. This skill may also be used with a firearms weapon, allowing the user to fire a bullet that has reduced destructive power but increased knockback potential. This skill has an animation time of 3 seconds and a cooldown time of 6 seconds.
Roleplay Class: Gunslinger
Outlaw: Toggle skill. Gunslingers have an affinity with firearms, allowing them to use firearms without penalty if their main class is normally not able to wield firearms. When Outlaw is toggled, the Gunslinger will see the remaining number of bullets in their current magazine and the total amount of bullets remaining in their inventory, displayed at a corner of their vision. If the firearm is empty and requires reloading, the number will be displayed in red.
Crafting Class: Mechanic
Disassembly: Toggle skill. Mechanics have a certain affinity with taking apart machines, so monsters that are mechanical in nature had better watch out. Mechanics deal 20% more damage to Machine-type monsters. They can also cancel buffs on Machine-type monsters upon a successful hit.
