[attr="class","solace"] Capsule's stomach was currently tied in knots. She had found herself in a bit of a pickle. The research she wanted to conduct today would require a guinea pig, and as she prone to secrecy and did not wish for her effort to be stolen by another, she could not afford to just pull anyone off the streets and ask for their assistance. No, she needed someone she could trust, and of that number, there were few. Shira and Mute were ruled out, for several reasons: Shira had gone AWOL, and she did not feel comfortable treating her girlfriend like a science experiment. Plus, it would come pretty damn close to self-cest, when you thought about it.
Capsule was intending to make a potion that came straight out of that popular book series about the wizards and magical school system: a polyjuice potion. It would be similar to her Skinwalking potion, albeit the person drinking said potion would be limited to people, and those closest to them, at that. Whereas the Skinwalking potion was great for stealthing it out in the wilderness, you would stick out like a sore thumb if you tried to use it in a city. That is where her current research came in. People could theoretically use the potion as a prank, or an actual means of subterfuge, like it was intended. Imagine if the DPS in the party disguised themselves as the squishy support? BAM, just when the monster of Pker though they had the upper hand, they would find themselves on the receiving end of a beat down (literally, if the disguised person was a Monk with the Beatdown skill).
She imagined there were other uses as well, but was too fretful at the moment to think of any. The person she had contacted was an old acquaintance, one who she had let down and bailed on, among other friends during the Stonehenge fight. The two of them had quested together a few times, including that time with that oversized weed, the bud of which still resided in her hair. He had crafted a few things for her as well, none of which she had kept after assimilating herself back into society.
His name was Hirosame, and he had gone on to surpass her while she sulked in the mountains for months.
She had no idea if the redhead would even deign to accept her request. The fight with Stonehenge had apparently gone well enough, but would have ended sooner, had she not been such a coward and hid to avoid a certain death. She was prepared to be met with hostility and resentment, and would understand why Hiro would be angry. There was no point in making excuses; all she could do was own up to her cowardice.
…And maybe explain why she looked completely different now. In her brief message to Hiro, Capsule had neglected to mention that she had given herself a total makeover. It had thrown Tobin for a loop, which might have dulled whatever grudge she assumed him to have. Nevertheless, her reunion with Hiro would either go just as well, or end in a complete disaster. Capsule was really hoping for the former.
Unable to sit still for much longer, the former redhead went outside to wait at the end of her property, her faithful Malinois, Bosco, trailing at her heels. A rather strange place, Hiro found himself in today. Up in the Sarum Mountainside, for some reason. However, there was a rather legitimate reason as to why the monk was there now, and it was to see an old friend of his. Capsule had been one of the few people that had actually been ahead of him in levels and such for quite along time, though for some reason, she disappeared for the longest time. Hiro had heard rumors that she was back in town, so to speak, but he wasn't about to suddenly message her and spark up a sudden conversation. She had her reasons for heading out for a while, and he respected that fact. She, however, reached out to him after a while, only a little while ago now, and asked if Hiro could help out with something, then gave him a location to head to. Hiro didn't necessarily respond, since he felt that it wasn't even a question as to whether he would show up or not. He was always one to show up whenever a friend needed a hand, and despite the fact that she had suddenly vanished in the middle of a rather important fight, he didn't hold it against her.
Hiro and Capsule had fought side by side during a few boss fights, a long time ago now. The first of which was that malignant weed, Malefic Mayahuel, otherwise known as Maya-chwan back when Caerbannog had referred to it on multiple occasions. Another boss fight included the fight with Stonehenge, though this was the one that Capsule had disappeared during. Maybe the entire fight was something of a nuisance to her, or she felt that she might actually be in danger, so she needed to get out of dodge before anything bad happened. Hiro understood this, and didn't blame her at all for it. The fight itself wasn't necessarily fun to remember, either, since it seemed to take a much longer time than had been anticipated. Either way, though, those two fights were the ones that came to mind up front, but then came the other various things that the two were present for. From various crafts, to exploration in Sarum to confirm the existence and time at which Stonehenge spawned, and even that time when they played that old Garry's Mod game in this world with Caerbannog, Hiro had nothing but rather enjoyable and fond memories of the female. She may not have talked a bunch, but she was still pretty cool.
As his mind recollected all these things, Hiro very quickly found a building at the location he was given, only to see a girl with long, white hair stepping out, with some form of animal following behind her. He was still a bit of a distance off, but he could tell that this was, indeed, a person and an animal of some sort. He didn't increase his pace at all, but continued up along the path. Perhaps this was someone that Capsule knew and worked with? He wouldn't question it, unless he was introduced to this new person and their pet, especially since he was mostly here on Capsule's request. It would be pretty nice to see that familiar red-haired woman again, even after such a long absence. He had half a mind to ask why she had disappeared, though knew that it wasn't really his place to do so for the time being. Now that he was closer to the building, though, he spoke up. "Hello!" Hiro shouted, speaking to the white-haired female. Or, what he could guess was a female. "Is Capsule around at all? She had asked me to come to this spot, and I'm guessing this is the right place." He stopped in his spot and looked around for a bit, wondering if he could see the familiar red hair around. "My name's Hiro. Is she around, by chance?" Maybe she was out doing some sort of research, and she'd be back soon. A bit of a breeze began to pick up, carrying some slightly colder air with it, despite the season. Hiro shivered a little, waiting for this person, or their pet, to respond.

[attr="class","solace"] That red hair, that voice, that Monk -- Capsule suddenly stopped, almost stumbling in the process. Part of her had not expected him to come, while a good deal of another was relieved. A small part of her was afraid, but Hiro did not seem upset. Maybe things would be fine, after all? Maybe she had overthought things, as usual. Or maybe… "Is Capsule around at all?" He did not recognize her. Of course he would not. A lot had changed about her, since she drunk that Appearance Change potion. For a moment, she briefly considered passing herself off as someone else, but that would never work. All the Monk had to do was check out her basic info.
While Capsule was struggling to come up with a response, Bosco started to yap, almost playfully. The dog ran up to Hiro, his tail wagging vigorously from side to side. This was the first time she had seen the dog act so friendly to a stranger. Normally, he would bark or growl at them, like he had done to Mute or Youka… then again, considering the fact that Mute was a Heretic, and the aggressive way Youka had approached them, it made sense. Hiro was not imposing an immediate threat to Capsule, and her fear was not great enough to make the dog wary.
Bosco sniffed at Hiro, then sat back on his haunches, head thrust out expectantly. He was silently demanding pats, and more importantly, treats. Capsule gently bopped the dog on the head when she caught up to him. "Bosco…" The dog tilted his head back to whine up at her, but fell silent when she a traced a finger from the top of his head to the tip of his nose. The ability to shush pap animals and monsters alike was grand.
She looked to Hiro, locking her red eyes on his green orbs. "I am Capsule," she simply stated. Had she been one for dramatics, she would have summoned an Astral Wall or Gehenna Swarm. "I uh… had a bit of a makeover since we last met." To Tobin, she had joked about having her hair cut. Here, it felt more prudent to be honest. "I see you have been doing well." It was hard to ignore the Monks current level, a comfortable ninety that was the current cap before the special leveling quests.
"We can talk more inside. There are uh… too many things that could be listening out here." Her tone betrayed her nervousness, and her body language was not doing much to hide it, either. There was a reason she chose to do her research out in the seclusion of the mountains. Capsule gestured to the small cottage behind her, which was more of a workstation than a home. Her tamed Snowfield Bear, Aleksei, had his head sticking out of the library window on the second floor. The bear was shaking a curled up paw at Hiro, teeth bared and silently snarling. It might have been intimidating, had the white bear not been level forty five and wearing hipster glasses.
The bear quickly ducked out of sight as Capsule turned around to lead Hiro inside. Bosco padded after her, stopping once to give Hiro a goofy grin. He had no idea who the stranger was, but like most dogs, he was always open to receiving human goodies. The female seemed to have been startled by his appearance, as though she hadn't expected him at all. He chocked this up to perhaps Capsule not telling this person that she was expecting someone else to show up at the current time. All this aside, though, the dog that had been by the woman's side decided to run up to him, in a very happy manner. Hiro chuckled a bit, and knelt down as the dog sat back, gently patting its head for a second, before the woman tapped the dog on the head. "Bosco, huh?" Hiro mumbled to himself. Ironically enough, his aunt had had a dog named Bosco a long time ago. Kind of a silly dog, he was, but Hiro liked him nonetheless. The nickname 'Bosco Bones' that his aunt used to call the dog came back suddenly, giving him a warm feeling in his heart. Hiro had stood back up by this point, as the female had gotten closer. She began to stare at him, directly into his eyes, and announced that she was actually Capsule. Hiro wondered about what exactly the dog was doing here in a place like this, but perhaps Capsule would tell him whenever she gets ba-
"WHA!?" So maybe it took a few extra seconds to click in his mind. But, upon looking at the displayed information above her avatar, he confirmed that this was the Capsule that he had known. The voice she had was also quite familiar, to boot, so there wasn't any room to doubt that this was, indeed, Capsule. Her explanation of a makeover seemed as kind of an understatement to him, but he figured that she probably used an Appearance Change potion. He was still abruptly taken aback, though she had said something about him seeming to be doing well. Hiro blinked a few times before answering, eventually. "W-Well, I mean... Yeah, things have been... Have been fine." He didn't want to make her think that he was just surprised at her appearance, despite how that was absolutely the case, and cleared his throat, mentally slapping his head a few times to get a grip. Capsule mentioned that they should probably head inside. Something about things listening? He wouldn't bother asking what things were listening, or why, because perhaps that was the point of him not knowing exactly what she was talking about. As such, he followed her to the building.
Capsule did seem a bit distraught, compared to the last time the two had spoken. Granted, that was a long time ago now, and it seemed like much has changed, for both of them. Despite this, though, he wouldn't ask her what she's been up to lately, unless she felt comfortable enough with talking about it. The fact that she seemed to be rather nervous about just being outside was more than enough of a reason for him to be as calm and collected as possible. Granted, that would be somewhat difficult, what with the sudden information of Capsule having completely changed her appearance, the dog, and something like a bear in the house as well that he saw on the way in. Hiro walked inside, as Capsule had opened the way for him. He looked around, noting how the place looked, but decided not to move around all that much. Instead, he just walked further inside, with enough room to allow the girl in, as well as the dog, and would wait for her to make the next move. For now, he'd just try and spark up some kind of conversation. "Quite a different place to have a house, I'd say. Never expected someone to have a house way up in the mountainside, despite it having been offered." He had absolutely no idea what he was even beginning to talk about, but just spoke for the sake of talking right now. "So, how've you been? You asked me earlier, so it's only right I reciprocate." Something easy enough to speak of, but he'd ask her about why she wanted him here later. It might do them both some good to do some catching up, after all.

[attr="class","capsol"] Hiro's reaction to the Enchanter's change in appearance was a rather standard one. Most would react that way, if approached in similar circumstances. Only a few would be able to remain nonchalant about the whole thing, whereas the people closest to them would be able to recognize them almost immediately; not by appearance, of course, but by mannerisms and speech. Unless you were good at controlling your body language and manipulating it to deceive others, such a drastic shift in appearance would do you little good, otherwise. For Capsule, the small boost of confidence she had received after her transformation was the second biggest change about her, though she had not had much of a chance to prove it in battle.
She did not feel very confident right now, however. There was a small, hard knot forming itself in her stomach. Now that Hiro was actually here and hat things were, in fact, progressing, Capsule wanted to run into her house, revoke her invitation to Hiro like one would a vampire, and hide under her covers. That was not a very adult thing to do, unfortunately, nor could she actually bring herself to do such a thing. She had called him out here, and must go through with it in earnest. Reunions were a dreadful thing.
The door shutting behind them cemented the situation. With a sigh softer than that of a butterfly, turned around to face Hiro once more. He seemed to be doing his best to spark some sort of conversation between the two of them, so that was a good start, right? Thankfully, it was something simple and unrelated to their past: her mountain home. "That is precisely why I chose it." The corners of her mouth pulled up into a small, brief smile, before relaxing. "Solitude is what I require of a work space…" That was as close to a hint the Monk would get on the possibility of a second home. As far as most people knew, she only had one residence, and that led to wherever her carrier pigeons delivered their orders to.
"I..." The second topic, one on her current well-being, was not one she was sure on how to respond. It was normally a question she would just dismiss with a "fine," in hopes that the other person would get bored of her and leave her alone. "I have been well." Her face turned a light shade of red. "I made a very special friend…" Rather than looking at Hiro now, Capsule was staring at the floor boards in embarrassment. A "special friend" was as close as she could come to admitting that she had fallen in love. It was a very awkward and personal thing for someone like Capsule to freely discuss.
Thank goodness for Bosco, who chose that moment to lean against her leg. It was not enough to truly break her out of her shy bubble, but it managed to pep her up a bet. "And I got a dog, too. He was a lot smaller when I first got him." Bosco barked, tail wagging energetically behind him. "I have done a fair bit of research these past few months, too." She had no idea how interested Hiro was in nerdy stuff like Pharmaceuticals, but Capsule found it very easy to ramble about her discoveries.
"The Appearance Change potion gave me a few good ideas, and I ran with them. Like my Skinwalking potion. I figured if people could change their avatar, why not go further to alter their form into something fantastical, like a field boss, or even your common or garden variety rabbit?" At this point, her shyness had taken a back seat. It was hard to feel timid when you were passionate about something. "Well, I want to do something similar, with people this time. You know how some people encounter others who look a lot like them?" The woman paused, hands held up, eyes lit up with expectation of Hiro's answer. The specific answer she was looking for was doppelgängers, but anything close to it would work. After having asked his first question, Hiro had received an answer about the estate. Something secluded, huh? While Capsule certainly did like to keep her space from some people, as his memory served, he also didn't really think that it would be such a good thing for her. Then again, he wasn't going to judge somebody else's lifestyle. That's not really who he was, to begin with, and being a douche didn't seem like the best option at the moment. He could sense that Capsule was a bit nervous, for reasons he didn't quite understand. Perhaps she thought he'd be mad at her for suddenly disappearing? Whatever the reason for her timid nature at the moment, that wasn't really any of his place to ask. For now, what he had to deal with was the fact that she's here, and she has a favor to ask him. But... That took a bit of a drop in importance, as Hiro noticed how Capsule was beginning to act a bit shy, and mentioning a "special friend" of some sort. A mischievous grin formed on his face for a moment, as he began to ponder the possibility of asking about said person that she was referring to.
That moment had passed, though, as the dog, Bosco, began to rub himself up against her leg. Hiro's grin turned to a soft smile at the sight. He loved animals, especially ones that were so adorable and loyal as dogs. Now, that isn't to say that he prefers dogs over cats, in the grand scheme of things, but he'd known a lot more dogs in his life than cats. So, it's an unfair bias, if anything. Seeing the dog happily wag its tail back and forth in such a manner made him chuckle a bit. It was a pretty cute dog, but he knew just how great of a pet they were. A few moments later, Capsule began to speak of her research, to which Hiro's mind immediately clicked to. She began speaking of her Skinwalking potion, something that he'd only heard of a few times before, but knew quite well of its ability. He also didn't know that the original creator of such a thing was Capsule, to which he raised an eyebrow, and an impressed smirk appeared on his face. She must've been up to some incredibly important stuff, to have created something like that. He had a mind to stop her and applaud for a few seconds, but knew that that probably also wasn't a good idea. Mostly because, she was very passionate about what she was saying right now.
So as to not disturb her, Hiro kept quite, attempting to soak in everything she was saying. The very thought of trying to make oneself look something akin to a monster, or even a field boss, was something impressive in and of itself. Hiro wasn't very into pharmaceuticals to begin with, as he was much more mechanically-minded, but learning about something he'd had no prior knowledge of was just as important as furthering the knowledge he'd had in one thing in particular. The contrast she'd made from field boss to a rabbit was also something mind-boggling to him, since a potion of that caliber would have to involve extensive research and development into, mostly due to the fact that it would have to perfectly change the shape of the player or target, into something completely different. It would be like changing Hiro's body and build into something as small and gelatinous as a Slime, or turning him from human into a massive Stonehenge mark 2. It was about this time, as he forced his thought process to be interrupted, that he was asked a question by the Enchantress before him. Hiro stared at her for a few seconds, rather dumbfounded for some reason.
"Uhh..." People who look alike one another? A twin, right? No, there's a different word. "Well, uhh..." Hiro shifted his weight and put his hand up to his head. "It's uhh... A thing..." He had no idea why this one word was escaping him so well right now. It was a rather confusing thing to realize that you know what one person was talking about, and then try to wrack your brain to figure out that one word, while also forgetting what he conversation was about. "I think it's a German word?" He brought his hand away from his head, and looked up to the right. He still couldn't find the exact word. It had something to do with a double of some sort, but even that would be a bit too obvious of a thing to go off of. He continued to think about it for a little more, wondering if there even was an exact word to describe it. But, of course there was, because Capsule seemed to be looking for one word in particular. "A Clone?" Hiro asked, turning to her. "A-A Twin? A Copycat?" None of those words were even German. "A double-something. I'm sure it's a double-something." He continued to look around in his mind to figure out what exactly the word was, but to no avail. Sighing a bit, knowing he'd probably let Capsule down with his answers, he just went with it. "I think it's a clone. Something made to be exactly like someone or something else." That's the best he had. Sorry, Cap, but Hiro's not exactly the best with words.

[attr="class","capsol"] Capsule could practically see the gears turning around in Hiro's head, which frankly made it more exciting. She lightly bounced up and down on her toes, still gesturing with her hands. Truly, the word was right at the tip of his tongue! The English language in particular borrowed many German words, and doppelgänger was a word that was familiar to most. It was generally agreed to refer to someone who resembled your twin as such. She was pretty sure that one show about the dad explaining to his kids how he met their mother based an episode around the term. It was a pretty popular show, too. …Did Hiro even watch tv?
Unfortunately, it did not seem Hiro knew the word, but recognized the concept enough to give a rough definition. She stopped bouncing on her toes, and shoved her hands into her pockets. Capsule could not resist lightly smirking. Her new face did it a lot, with or without consent. "A double would be more accurate than calling it a clone or twin. Clones and twins are actually related to you, whereas a doppelgänger is not. In today's sense, it is used to describe someone who bears a striking resemblance to another person, or even shares mannerisms that are eerily similar. Imagine seeing someone you thought you knew on the street, but it turns out to be someone else entirely? Or in a video game, where customization may be limited, and you are bound to run into an avatar similar to your own." Log Horizon was certainly no exception. Capsule had run into many look a likes since being trapped here.
A chill went down her spine as she remembered a film she had seen in her teenage years. Don't Look Now was a story about two parents, grieving the death of their only daughter. The father continuously saw a small, childlike figure wandering around the city, wearing a red jacket similar to the one his daughter had worn. Perhaps out of some dumb hope that the child was somehow his deceased daughter (Capsule could not recall the reason why), he approaches the girl, who turned out to be a middle aged female dwarf, and the murderer plaguing the city. The man then has his throat cut, and realizes that he has been seeing premonitions of his own death as he bleeds out. Seeing doubles could be deadly.
She began to pace around the living room. Walking helped her think. "The same concept exists as myths in other cultures, except the doppelgänger is usually an apparition of the victim, and generally considered to be a bad omen." She paused for a moment to pick up a book that fallen off of her coffee table. It just so happened to be a book on Lander superstitions. Capsule set it back down on the table. "In some medias, a doppelgänger might even go so far as attempt to replace you, like a Changeling… Some conspiracy theorists like to think celebrities are susceptible to this too, but…" Her face went a light shade of pink. How long had she been allowed to ramble on like this? "I digress." Once she got onto the subject of Changelings, she might never stop.
What she should be doing was getting back on track. She did not want to keep Hiro out here longer than necessary, as he might have plans later. Time for her, on the other hand, was nearly endless. "The reason I called you out here for is uh…" She idly played with a strand of her long hair. "I need someone to test this theory on." Well, she still had to brew the concoction first, but a guinea pig was equally important. Capsule gave Hiro a strained smile, doing her best to come off as cheery. "I can hardly test this out on myself, since…" She gestured around the room, where the only other living things (aside from Hiro and herself) were Bosco, and the polar bear upstairs.
That’s right -- Capsule was going to make a woman out of Hiro. One that looked just like Capsule, to be exact. Or so she planned, anyway. There was no telling what would actually happen once they reached the testing phase, but the worse that could happen was Hiro being stuck in that form for a few hours… or a day, at most. "I hope you don’t mind having um--" Her hands had come to a stop before her chest, before dropping back to her sides. "Long hair." Because that was obviously the biggest drawback of this experiment. If he wanted to back out, now was the time to do so. "Son of a bitch..." Hiro grumbled to himself, a defeated grin appearing on his face. Doppelgänger. He was so close to saying the right word, yet so far off from actually saying it. It was only until he realized what he said that he also noticed how into it Capsule was getting. She must really like pharmaceutical work, so much so that Hiro didn't think he'd ever seen the woman quite so energetic in his life. That, and this special friend she may have been referring to could have also improved her mood, along with the different appearance. Hiro honestly couldn't care less if she was acting weird before him. All he knew was that she was having fun talking about this, and that her shyness seemed to disappear, practically. It was nice to see an old friend, but even nicer to see an old friend smile. So, he just kept quite as she began to somewhat ramble on about doppelgängers and the differences between those and clones/twins. It was about that time that she began to pace back and forth in the room, continuing her speech. Hiro noticed the book on the ground, as she moved it back up onto a table. He didn't get a good enough look at the title, though.
Hiro chuckled a bit to himself, as Capsule realized just how quickly she was breaking into a full-on rant. "It's fine." He said after a moment, a smile still on his face. She was super excited about this, so the energy obviously spilled over to him, as well. So, now she was going to get into the reason why she wanted Hiro here. After all this talk about doubles and such, Hiro had a feeling that she wanted to try some potion on some monster. However, he found himself dumbfounded once again, as she mentioned that she needed someone to test this on. Afterwards, she motioned around the room, explaining that she couldn't really test it on herself, and very obviously showing that the room was void of any other humans at the time. The first question that came to mind was: Why him? There were plenty of others who would likely be able to fulfill this requirement. Perhaps said special friend? Then again, maybe she wanted to not only try it out, but see how well it would work on a higher-leveled person. Hiro could understand this, though, despite the fact that Capsule herself was a rather high level as well, so she might know others who were of the same level or greater. Maybe someone at 91.
Hiro's thought process was cut abruptly when she began to motion towards her chest, but then said something about long hair. He found himself laughing a bit at this, as she clearly meant a female's chest region. "I don't think having hair longer than mine is right now will be a problem." His facial expression didn't change as he continued. "Yeah, I can help out, if you just need a guinea pig. I don't really have anything planned for today, either, so I'm free for whatever." He then thought about how she might not have even made the potion yet, and would likely need something to do in the meantime. Then again, she might just have him hang around and make sure he doesn't get lost in the mountains or something. Specifically due to the fact that Hiro had never been here before, and it took him roughly 2 hours to even find the right path up to this place. He felt a bit stupid about this fact, but since he didn't know the place quite as well as the female did, it was understandable that he would get lost at some point along the way. Then again, after having been stuck here for such a long time, it served to reason that he would know how to go from one place to another, even if he didn't know the place well enough.
Eventually, he brushed the thought from his mind, and started to think about other things he could work on while here. He had all he needed to work on that old Hoverboard project, back with Scoria, but he didn't want to dirty up Capsule's place. A few various ideas for music-oriented machines started to come back from his pool of memories, and then eventually the thought of getting up to an airship returned to his mind. On top of all that, there were other Idol-like things he could work on, like practicing using songs and skills at the same time to increase stage-effectiveness, but Capsule likely didn't need some punk using magic in her house. He sighed as he thought he'd figure something out for the time being. Instead, he just found a chair with a table next to it and sat down. "If you need me to head outside to grab anything while I'm here, then let me know." He turned to her for a moment. "I may not know the place very well, but I can probably find anything you need me to look for, if you just tell me where it is." Hiro wanted to be useful, even if that meant leaving for a bit and then coming back. It might give him some time to think about something to do while he's here, but that idea for working on the Hoverboard again sounded kind of lovely. He had all he needed, practically, and he just needed to put them together. For now, though, he'd wait for Capsule's reply.

[attr="class","capsol"] Heh. Hiro had just referred to himself as a guinea pig. Capsule lightly clasped her hands together, a smile of amusement flashing across her countenance. "Danke." She almost said something cheesy like, "It means a lot to me." The Enchanter could not shake off the feeling that somewhere, someone was somehow watching this entire exchange, and waiting for the opportunity to rub it into her face at a later date. But such a thing could not happen… right?
Capsule slowly padded in the direction of the kitchen, almost nonchalantly. Normally, she would just get to work, but what was Hiro to do while she spent a good thirty minutes or more preparing the potion? She supposed he was free to wait in the living room or check out the library or meditation room, though depending on his interests, it may only bore him. Maybe he could keep her company while she brewed the potion? Then again, she was not keen on the idea of someone practically breathing down her neck as she worked.
Stuck in contemplation, Capsule welcomed the suggestion Hiro offered. The male was willing to go out and run a few errands for her, which she supposed was more for his sake than hers. She would have taken him on it, too, had she been sure she needed anything. "Well, I do not need anything in particular. I should have everything I need." She swept an arm through the air. "Feel free to explore, if you would like to." If he did, he would find that her so called home was more of an office. The bedroom was the least used, as a result. She only slept up here when she was heavily invested in work, which was not so often these days. Work was becoming harder and harder to come by.
"Bosco here can keep you company -- oh!" She had almost forgotten about Aleksei, who was now trundling down from the second floor. The bear grunted and squinted down at the redhead from the staircase. "Aleksei, Hiro. Hiro, Aleksei." The polar bear rumbled softly, but showed no further signs of hostility. He was, however, giving Capsule a very stern glare, like a disapproving father when his virginal daughter brought home some young punk. "Aleksei can uh… help me out in the kitchen."
The bear padded down the steps to the ground floor, and purposely brushed past Hiro. He paused to raise and point a paw to his eyes, then to Hiro's. It was a good thing that Hiro was double the bear's level, otherwise he might have tried to rough the Monk up. The bear sauntered out of the living room and into the kitchen, where he released a low roar. "Yeah um… bear dad is getting cranky, so--" Capsule waved nervously at Hiro before scampering after the grumpy old bear.
The grumpy old bear was sniffing at some branches that Capsule had neatly bundled under the kitchen table. Capsule kind of needed those for crafting. She gently popped the bear on the backside. "Why do you have to be so rude," she chastised. The bear just huffed and snagged a jar of honey. He had never had the stuff until she brought him out of Snowdonia, and now he was hooked on it, like crack.
Capsule brushed past him to collect the ingredients she would need, especially anima berries and mana flowers. She snagged one of the many branches, as well, and a small bottle that contained a suspicious white powder. It was best that Hiro did not know all of the ingredients for this project, otherwise he might not be able to stomach any of it. But hey, that was medicine for ya. As Capsule seemed to be happy that Hiro was willing to help her out, she admitted that she didn't have much of anything for him to go grab to make things go by easier. Feeling like he probably could be able to help out a little, even he knew better than to step in between a doctor and their medicine, even if this wasn't exactly the case. He still didn't want to get in her way, if he wasn't supposed to, or even if he was supposed to but such a thing would impede the progress of Capsule's work. As such, he decided that he might just hang out and work on some other things in the meantime. However, as she was reintroducing Bosco, her dog, the polar bear from earlier, wearing some sort of hipster-styled glasses, sauntered down the stairs. As he was introduced as Aleksei, Hiro made attempted to make a friendly face at the animal, but was met with a greeting, much akin to this. He didn't really have much of a reaction, though noticed how the bear brushed itself forcefully against him as he walked by. Careful there, big guy. Hiro thought, squinting at the beast. You'd be a pelt in 2 seconds flat if you mess with me.
Hiro let out a sigh as Capsule went after the bear, and presumably to grab a few ingredients for her work as well. He looked around and found a rather big table where he could sprawl out a few things in order to do some kind of work. Opening up his inventory, he took out a few skateboards that he'd had in storage for a little while now, and placed them all upside-down on the floor. Afterwards, he brought out 5 Wind Source Spheres, which he'd borrowed from Scoria a while back in order to work on their old Hoverboard idea, as well as an IO Regulator, yet another Scoria-Exclusive. With all the items at present, he would probably be able to make something work out of all of this. Aside from that, he'd had another idea to play off of, which he was thinking about while he was on his way up to this place. Something along the lines of a grappling hook launcher, which he would need to do a bit of extended work on. The idea for that would be to use some length of rope, attach a deploy-able hook-type mechanism at the end of the rope, and a gun of some sort in order to have an adequate firing contraption, which he would use to launch the length of rope and hook.
First thing's first, though, the Hoverboard. This would be something that he could make probably fairly easy. All he needed to do was use the build-up of skateboard as the base for the board itself, and then implant the Wind Source Spheres into place, two where the wheels were in the front and back, and then one in the center for stability. After that, installing the IO Regulator on the top of the board to allow him to regulate when they get started or stopped. That being said, he picked up the first of the 3 skateboards, and began to violently rip the wheels off the bottom. Probably this would cause a ruckus for Capsule, which he'd need to explain if she asked. "Sorry about the noise, just doing a bit of construction of my own." He said, letting it go for the moment afterwards. Hiro looked up with a childish grin. "When I'm done, I may have to ask you to do some testing for me on a thing or two, as well." Capsule might enjoy the Hoverboard and Grappling Hook ideas, if he had a chance to finish everything while he was there. The Hoverboard, probably, was no problem to make in a short amount of time. Hiro had all he needed, so all that was left to do was just assemble it all into one contingent piece. This was the first step.
Hiro continued to rip the wheels off of all the skateboards, until they were all completely off. He then began to create equally-sized holes in the two bottom boards, two in the front, two in the back, and one in the middle. Afterwards, he then used a bit of Glue to mesh them all together into one unit. This wouldn't be the only thing keeping them together, as this was just a prototype for now. Once they were all aligned right, he turned the enhanced board upside down to let the glue set, and then began to think about how he would be able to keep the orbs in place. What he would need to do was use some kind of scrap metal, with beveled openings to allow room for the Spheres to exert their mana force, but keep them in place, on the bottom of the board. While he was at it, he would need to put something on top of the board, as well, to hold things together better. Perhaps this would be some sort of a case, to keep everything in line, and also allow for some sort of customization. He didn't necessarily have what he needed for this, but he did need some time to let the glue cure, before he could continue on with what he was planning to do next. So, in the meantime, he placed the orbs in their correct places, and let them sit in there for the time being.
He then began to pull out some scraps of metal that he had from back in the workshop, and thought about how he could best use them to fulfill his needs. Glue wasn't going to keep these together. He needed something sturdier, something more efficient. He may need to weld it on, probably. This wouldn't be that hard of a task, but he probably couldn't do that inside. And, with that Hipster Bear around, he likely couldn't just leave the board laying where it was, without the risk of this work getting ruined. These parts actually cost a LOT of gold, more than the bear would likely understand. Not to mention, it could possibly cause some damage to Capsule's house in the process. For now, Hiro would just start to make holes in the metal, lined them up with the bottom of the board's openings for the Spheres to be protected yet open to the world. Once the bottom portion was done, he began to work on the top, with another beveled hole open in the middle, for where the IO Regulator would go in order for Hiro to get the Spheres working, elsewise this would just be a glorified hunk of metal with expensive parts. Once he had the top portion all set as well, he needed to wait for the glue to fully finish curing before he could do much else. After that, the real fun would begin, and he could get this thing moving. Literally.
[1170 Words] Tag: Capsule Notes: Given that Research allows for all required parts to be present, I can actually probably get the Hoverboard ready to claim next post, if I make another 1k+ post. Sorry for taking advantage of the situation. ^-^;

[attr="class","capsol"] With Aleksei in the kitchen, things were getting awfully cramped. The kitchen here was not the special one she had built for Mute to craft in. Indeed, it was the standard free kitchen that anyone with a house got. Standard in this case also meant small, crowded, and severely lacking in advanced utensils or cooking ware. In short, it was a huge disappointment, and better used as a makeshift lab by Capsule. Seeing as how she was a Pharmacist and not a Chef, it had no other uses anyway. She could by with making up some sauce or other general recipes (you did not need to be a Chef to season food, thankfully), but not much beyond that.
An actual Chef or someone who had a similar profession before being transported into this world would be horrified at what she had done to this kitchen. That kitchen stove? Almost ripped out on a whim to make way for a kettle and fireplace, which the Lander worker sadly stated as a fire hazard. And the spice rack would warrant a second heart attack. Rather than your typical herbs, such as garlic, paprika, etc., Capsule had an odd assortment of ingredients, each more horrendous than the last. Stuff like eyeballs in jars, what appeared to be the toe of a troll, a lump of black fuzz that shivered at the slightest noise, a small pile of animal bones, and the dismembered paw of a monkey.
Capsule hummed softly to herself, oblivious to the things assorted on the rack. She had seen much worse, to the point where she was hardly bothered by even grosser items. Considering that she was most often her best guinea pig, the woman had learned a long time ago to stop being squeamish and just do it. Her main consolation was that she was not incorporating feces or blood (menstrual or otherwise) into her concoctions. That was… a set of methods employed by medicinal healers of the past, before the advancement of science improved the quality of their materials. Apparently, some of the Landers were still going about the old ways of doing things before the advancement of crafting. Capsule shuddered at the thought of lining a wound with feces or mud. Such barbarism did not sit right with her at all.
She neatly arranged her materials on the small (and only) table in the room. Aleksei looked up briefly from his jar of honey, but not at his mistress. Instead, he was gazing in the direction of the living room. It took Capsule a moment, but she could hear it, too. It was the sound of something being violently ripped asunder. Curious, the woman stepped away from the kitchen table to inspect, and to her surprise, spied Hiro hard at work at her living room table. The man was ripping off the wheels of some skateboards. For what, she could not imagine. If it were for repair, would he not be taking more care to avoid breaking them any further? Or was he working on something else altogether?
The woman jumped lightly and issued a subdued Oh as Hiro suddenly called out to her, apologizing for the noise. He was apparently in the midst of crafting something -- what, she had no idea. Her knowledge of Mechanic based crafts was admittedly low. It was a very useful subclass (especially for Wardens, as that was where they got most of their gear), though her interests were skewed in favor of motorbikes and radios… neither of which had been invented as of yet. She knew this because she kept an eye out for new advances in inventions. "Oh, I would love to," she responded. Despite her lack of understanding of what Hiro was crafting, Capsule was very interested in the results. Who knows? Maybe it would be a much coveted item. Plus, it was the least she could do for calling Hiro out here and prepping to use him as a guinea pig.
With that minor confusion cleared up, Capsule retreated back to the kitchen. She made a beeline for the table, where she scooped up a handful of Anima Berries and Mana Flowers. Capsule rearranged them in her hand, until they were neatly rolled into a squashed, ball like shape. She then sat the herb ball down onto the table, and proceeded to carefully trim the sides with her knife. The trimmed parts were bits of root or twigs, which she had neglected to clean off during a previous gathering venture. That was a task Capsule only bothered with when she had nothing else to do, and needed to organize some things. There was really no point in doing so otherwise, as she would be cutting them up, either way. And she never sold her gathered materials, so…
With the herbs neatly relieved of debris, Capsule began the easier task of dicing them up. She sought the most important part of the herbs -- the budding flower and the sweet berry, which contained the magical properties, the essentials. Everything else, stem included, were mostly there as filler. They possessed a little bit of magical energy, but were mostly used to squeeze every bit of essence out of the plant. It was damn near necessary for extracting the most potent juices, if you knew how to go about it.
After getting the herbs into as small as the pieces could get, Capsule transferred them into her mortar and pestle, for grinding. It was her time to make some noise, though it may not be as loud as Hiro was with his skateboard wheels. The loudness Capsule provided came in the form of pounding the stone bowl with her tiny club. That was the best way to bash in a nut, and worked wonders on herbs. It made the grinding process much quicker and easier, though was technically unnecessary; herbs submitted quickly to only a little bit of pressure.
By the time Capsule was finishing up with that step and moving onto the next, her voracious polar bear had already moved on to his third pot of honey. At the rate he was going, Capsule would need to forage for more of the deliciously sticky stuff. Life was hard when you had to keep up with the heavy addiction of your bear dad. Hiro had been so absorbed in what he was doing that he didn't necessarily catch what Capsule had said about trying out his own inventions, once things got to where they needed to be in the way of completion. However, he was still a bit of a ways off. He had yet to solidify the bond between the two encasing metals, though that would likely not be that big of a problem. All he really needed to do was head outside and use one of his skills to heat it up. Or, at least try to. But, this is when he remembered Scoria's makeshift Welding Tool. Hiro stood up and carefully brought everything back outside for just a moment. He didn't even think of telling Capsule, since he would likely only be out for a few moments. Thankfully, Hiro also had Scoria's sunglasses, which served to protect his eyes from the damaging light. Walking outside, and putting the sunglasses over his eyes, Hiro began to weld the sides, placing the Hoverboard on the ground. The welding process wasn't perfect, but hey, it would definitely work for now. He could do a much better job once he got back to the guild house, or back to his own home. Now that that was finished, he flipped it right-side up, and looked at it. Feeling like he might need to add a bit more, he looked at the back. There wasn't any method of moving forward, except for leaning forward on the hoverboard itself. This wouldn't do for very long, as that might cause some people to fall off much more than they'd prefer to. So, Hiro took out a few more scraps of metal, but noticed that they weren't quite the shape he was thinking of. He needed some circular pieces, to place on the back, where he could put a few more Source Spheres, to produce forward thrust or motion. The first thing that came to mind was using a few more Wind Source Spheres, but that would likely just add a little propulsion forward. So, time to become a bit of a pyrotechnic. He would use Fire Source Spheres, to generate a funneled thruster, with which the flames would be used to propel it ahead. But, for now, he needed to do something about the metal. He sighed, since he didn't know what exactly to do, except to try something out for once. Battering Ram wouldn't do, chances are, since it was meant to blow doors in. He'd need to do some cutting. Not himself, of course. Hiro put the scraps on the ground, and went into his inventory. He brought out the KDK, which he had invented just a little while ago. The extending blade appeared in his hand in its normal Katana mode. Holding the weapon out to the side, Hiro hit the trigger. The blade folded out further, to about 2 and a half times its normal length, after which the weapon thickened by about half. Letting it drop a bit, Hiro caught the hilt in his other hand. The weapon had transformed to its Daikatana state, which meant some more powerful cutting force. Raising the sword above himself, Hiro sliced down onto the scraps a few times, getting as close to an beveled triangle as he could. From there, he placed the weapon back into his inventory, and picked the pieces up. He began to form them, using his hands, into the thruster-style that he wanted, making two of them. He carefully put two Fire Source Spheres underneath them, and began to weld the thrusters onto the back. He had to use a much thicker metal for this, because the flames would likely warp the metal too quickly if he hadn't. Once the welding was done, he started to move back inside for the final touches, which would be installing the IO Regulators. Hiro walked back inside. "Sorry about that." Hiro said, as he walked back in. "Didn't want to weld inside your house." He gave a wry, apologetic grin, hoping that Capsule wasn't worried that he would've just up and left on her. He sat back down at the table, gathering up the final few parts he needed. "I should be just about done with this, so I'll likely need to test it outside once again really quick, though I'm hoping you'll accompany me for that." As he continued to bring out the last materials, he would tell Capsule what he's making. "So, this is something Scoria and I were going to work in, but he had to leave suddenly, and left everything at the workshop. I assume you remember him." A rather sound assumption. "He and I were going to work on making a Hoverboard, using his newest inventions at the time, but since it's been a while, I figured I might as well try and finish it myself." Hiro brought a paper out of his inventory, and placed it on the table. "I apologize for causing a racket, and leaving and entering so suddenly, but I'm very close to being done. Those notes there on that paper are Scoria's, explaining how these Source Spheres work." Hiro had finally brought the IO Regulators out, and began to place one on the center of the topside of the board. As he began to wire it all up, he continued his thoughts, completely disregarding the fact that Capsule might still be working at the same time. "These Source Spheres are pretty hard to get, given that they hold a near-infinite amount of one type of elemental energy." Hiro pulled one out of his inventory, a Water Sphere, and placed it on the table. "Basically, how they work is, you apply some MP to the orb, and it will create some kind of element, depending on whatever the color is. Blue is Water, Red is Fire, Green is Wind, et cetera." He stopped with the regulator for just a moment to point to that one sphere. "So if you channel some MP to that orb, some water will fall out of it." He went back to fiddling with the contraption. "Thanks to Scoria, I also figured out that you can actually manipulate how a certain sphere works with its given element, say Water on the Ocean. If a setting is placed on the IO Regulator, you can actually glide over Water with a Hoverboard, instead of Land. That is, of course, the theory, anyways." Hiro was far from certain with what he'd just said, but he absolutely wanted to try it. The Regulators were made to switch on and off the power to the Spheres themselves, though they have other potential uses. Just... Hiro hasn't had the opportunity to mess with it. He finished messing around with the first IO Regulator, to turn on the Wind Source Spheres below the board, having placed a button in the front that one can press with their foot to activate it. Since the board ran on the energy inside the Wind Source Spheres themselves, the only thing he needed was to activate the Regulator, and then the machine would work just fine. Hiro stood up, a big, childish grin on his face. He wasn't going to install the regulator to the thrusters in the back, since that was likely more dangerous. He just wanted to make sure that everything would work as it is, minus those. Turning to Capsule, he spoke. "Could I borrow you for just a minute? I wanna try this out." Hiro walked over towards the door, opened it up, and walked outside. Whether she wanted to check it out or not was not likely a question. Hiro had a feeling that she was one of those people who enjoyed different methods of transportation, despite how one goes about it, since she was one of the first few people to ask for him to make them a skateboard, just after he'd finished those. Either way, though, she might get a kick out of this, if it worked as well as he thought it might. Well, hopefully it didn't explode in his face, because he was going to try it first, and then see how she liked it from there. Probably the best course of action. Probably. Hiro hit the button on the front with his hands, to make sure that he mechanism worked. As he expected, the wind source spheres began to power up slowly. He walked a few steps further away from Capsule's house, placing it on the ground, as it began to hover. "Okay, it hovers. That's the one thing I was most afraid that it wasn't going to do." He admitted. Probably not something he should admit, but he disregarded it. Hiro placed his right foot on the board, causing it to shift in height for a moment. Once it was firmly on the board, he brought his other up to it, and began to stand on air, so to speak. He was a bit nervous that he might fall off, but he tried his best to keep his balance. To his fortune, it was much like a skateboard in this regard. When he felt he had some good footing, he began to sway his legs back and forth a bit, trying to see if he could swing from side to side. It worked well enough for him, as he was able to swing at about 20 degrees to one side, and then 20 to the other, much like a pendulum. His upper body stayed in place. Okay, so it worked like he thought it did. Momentum was important when it comes to swinging from side to side. Another good thing to note. Probably doesn't need to be noted, however, but hey, at least it is. So, next would be the matter of if it could move forward or not. With his hopes in his mind, he leaned forward slightly. It was moving. Just barely, but it was moving forward. A massive grin found its way across his face, as he leaned forward a bit more, going along the path he'd used to come up. The speed quickened just a bit, so he thought he'd lean forward a lot more! And yes, it got a lot faster, but... Hiro landed on his face on the ground below. Maybe he leaned a bit too far forward... Hiro got up off the ground, rubbing his nose. "Damn." He said silently to himself. Picking the board back up, he faced it along the path again, and got atop it once more. He started to ride it further down the path, gaining a little speed, and shifted his weight out to the side. The board swerved around, to which he immediately shifted to the other side, causing the board to turn back up the path. Leaning forward again, he returned to in front of the house. A successful smile, despite the little spill he'd had just a few moments ago, could've been seen for miles on him. Hiro stepped off of the board, and motioned towards Capsule. "Would you like to give it a shot?" He asked the Pharmacist. "All you've gotta do is lean forward slightly, and you'll start moving forward. After that, just treat it like you would a skateboard when it comes to turning." He let out a little chuckle. "It's... Actually kinda fun." He'd been so used to riding around on a skateboard that it lost its luster to him. But, now, he found the joy in it again. In silent anticipation, he waited for Capsule to give it a shot, next, waiting patiently for her opinion on the invention. [1947 Words] Tag: CapsuleNotes: Dear god. I'm so sorry I wrote so much. [attr="class","capsol"] The next step was to take the powdered herbs and put them into another container, much like a certain starfish who had the idea of moving his town away from a hungry worm. Whereas the starfish and the town of fish had to exert great effort just to get things moving along, the task Capsule took upon herself was much simpler. It involved picking up the mortar, and dumping the fresh powder into a dry and clean beaker. That was not so bad at all, was it?
Next, Capsule moved over to the stove, where a large pot of water was gently boiling. She raised the temperature up a few notes, to encourage a roaring boil. And then it was back to the table, not to pick up the powder, but something else: two of the branches and her knife. While she was skinning the branches next to the pot, Capsule could hear the front door opening and closing. What was Hiro up to now, she wondered? She leaned back slightly to peek into the living room, but could only see the tip of Bosco's eagerly wagging tail. The dog was peeking out the window, enthralled by something. She just assumed he was watching Hiro, and went back to work.
A fine pile of branch shavings were piled up neatly on the counter, and left to sit while Capsule sifted the powdered Anima Berries and Mana Flowers into the pot. A small plume of smoke rose to greet her unprotected eyes, forcing the woman to squint as she went about her work. The liquid in the pot turned a dark shade of indigo as she stirred the pot, and slowly grew darker as she added the wood from the branches in. The thin, long strips were being added like a raw egg in soup, and would eventually be reduced to soft pieces. Last but not least, Capsule sprinkled in some of the powdered bone. The powder was rather chalky, and for a few moments it clung to the top of the concoction before sinking.
The Anima Berries and Mana Flowers were key components in the Appearance Change potion. The strips from the branches were added as a different type of catalyst. They were magical, yes, but also gathered near a few Treants. Capsule was under the impression that they were shed from or fell off of the Treants, but she could not say for certain. All she knew for certain was that they had tested well for sources of mana use, no matter how old. As for the powdered bone… that was honestly added for thickening purposes. It served no purpose beyond that. The crucial ingredient would have to come from her own DNA. That was how these potions generally worked. Without a little human DNA, it was just another Skinwalking potion. But that was a step that was saved for last.
Just as she was lowering the boil to a simmer, Bosco barked in excitement, and the front door opened. With nothing else to do than wait for the potion to brew, Capsule stepped out of her kitchen to meet up with Hiro. Aleksei chose to be anti-social and remain in the kitchen, eating up all of her stored honey. Such a troublesome and greedy old bear… "Welding?"
The woman remained standing, leaning against a wall as she observed Hiro, busy at work on her table. Her ears stayed finely tuned to his explanation, and perked up at the mention of an old acquaintance of theirs. Scoria. She honestly could say she missed Scoria. The Druid was, well, grumpy as heck, to put it mildly. He had not been unnecessarily cruel to her, but he could be rather scary to others that aggravated him. His little flower nymph summon was cute, however. "Yeah, I remember Scoria. He was fond of making impromptu ice rinks." Not to mention trolling people. She wondered whatever became of him. Was he still out there, making life hell for other people, or had he turned to seclusion, like Capsule?
Those curious thoughts were abruptly shouldered aside, as Hiro uttered a word that made her eyes widen in disbelief. "Hoverboards?!" Oh, yes! That was absolutely cool, so geil! Never mind her lust for a motorized bike. A hoverboard was something that only tepidly existed in the real world, and that hunk of garbage relied on magnets to get along. If Hiro could make -- had made -- a board that actually hover, Capsule would definitely want to get a slice of that pie. "I think I understand that…" Her voice trailed off a she stroked her chin, eyes trying to subtly examine the notes left behind by Scoria. "If this works, it could be of greater convenience than mounts or wagons. Or pave the road for further advancement in means of travel. Today hoverboards. Tomorrow, flying cars." That last one would be harder to pull off, however. Cars were far more complex, and she found herself being wowed by the simpler counterpart. This Mechanic stuff was fancier than her Pharmacist projects, which were more often something you would find in Harry Potter.
"I would be honored," she hastily exclaimed at the Monk’s offer. Only a fool or an old fuddy duddy would pass up such an opportunity. Bosco, who was probably clueless as to what was occurring, gave a single bark. He trotted after Capsule and Hiro outside, and immediately moved to go dig up one of his buried bones. Typical Bosco. Capsule had no interest in bones, outside of her work. Her eyes were trained on the Hoverboard prototype, and there was a grin matching Hiro’s on her face. And to think that she had been so wound up not so long ago!
"Ooh," she softly muttered, watching as Hiro switched the device on. Right before her very eyes, it was hovering a few feet off of the ground. And then Hiro stepped onto it, and suddenly he was hovering above empty air. Capsule covered her mouth with her hands, left in awe as he proceeded to ride around, like one would on a skateboard. She was also somewhat concerned for his safety. For a few moments there, Hiro seemed dangerously close to falling, or at least that was how she perceived it. There was really not much to be worried about, as Hiro was handling the board well enough on his own. Still, Capsule waited in the wings, prepared to cast Nightmare Sphere if it looked like he was going to fall.
Misfortune struck as Hiro attempted to speed up, only to fall towards the ground. Capsule used Nightmare Sphere to ease his fall, though he still bumped his head. "Oh, sorry." That looked like it hurt, too. There were no further incidents when he got back on the board, but still Capsule kept an eye out. She uttered a soft sigh of relief as he came to a stop and stepped off the Hoverboard. Once again, her face lit up when the offer to ride was extended. "Y-yes!"
The Enchanter carefully approached the Hoverboard, as if it were an ill-tempered dog. With light pressure, she placed one foot on the board, and slowly eased the other onto it. She knew how to ride a skateboard, so this should be simple… right? Capsule leaned forward ever so slightly, like a student driver behind the wheel for the first time. The Hoverboard slooooowly glided forward, being horribly outclassed by a lazy snail trudging along beside it. With a bit more confidence, Capsule urged the board to go a little faster -- and softly squealed at the speed.
Eventually, Capsule coaxed the Hoveboard to go at a faster, albeit gentle speed, one where the fear of being dismounted was nil, but also fast enough to derive some enjoyment from. "Look, ma, I'm flying," she cried out with a silly laugh of exuberance. Perhaps in time, she could ride with more reckless abandon. A bit giddy and unable to get rid of the goofy grin on her face, Capsule stopped the board and hopped off. "That was fun--" A glance at her house brought her eyes back to the living room window, which Aleksei was now staring out of. Oh fudge. Her potion. "Schiesse." She had only left it to simmer, but needed to stir it every once in a while, for consistency. "Sorry, sorry," the woman chanted as she fled back to the house. Leaving stuff on the stove like that could be dangerous.
Aleksei just stared at her as she ran into the kitchen, and took his time in following her. Thankfully, the potion was unharmed, though some of the strips of branches had gotten stuck to the bottom. That was an easy fix. A fie could have started, had she not rushed back in to prevent it. Relieved, the previous feelings of delight trickled back in. Soon, very soon, it would be her turn to test out an invention. [attr="class","capsol"] Hiro watched as Capsule was trying out his most recent invention, seeming like she was enjoying herself, for sure. She was taking it slow, at first, and then she started to play around with it some more, increasing her speed at a safe enough pace enough to get moving a bit faster, but to stay safer. Hiro imagined that she probably didn't want to end up falling on her face, much like he had. Understandable, he admitted, especially since this was the mere prototype for Hiro's newest creation. Just as the woman rolled back up, so to speak, in front of him, she began to express herself, but then ran right back inside, after having sworn in German. At least, he thought it was a swear. Maybe her potion was just about done, given the fact that she had moved much faster than before. Maybe she'd out-sped the hoverboard at the pace she was moving, just to get back inside. Letting the joke subside in his mind, he followed her inside, but in a much more relaxed motion. He wasn't the one making the potion, so he didn't really need to worry.
As the monk walked back into the building, he thought about the last thing that he may need to do for the hoverboard. Adding the IO Regulator to the thruster in the back was the most important thing that he could think of, but he also wanted to think further on applications of the source spheres, specifically having to do with the hoverboard idea. Perhaps by using some other types of source spheres, he could manipulate the kind of terrain that the hoverboard would cross? Perhaps due to the fact that he had mentioned earlier, manipulating the uses through the IO Regulator, could give him a better balance over surfaces, like water, using a water source sphere in the middle, instead of a wind sphere. Maybe an earth sphere in order to better maneuver throughout the terrain of a mountainous range, or even a fire sphere to move over lava. Then again, there wasn't any type of lava area for them to explore over, but that was beside the point. Eventually, every MMO had some kind of a volcano level, so it was only a matter of time before they found something like that. But, that would be for another time, not now.
For now, Hiro needed to install the IO Regulator for the thruster. This would not only activate the orbs, but also, in theory, narrow the cones by which the flames would be produced, decreasing the area by which the flame's force was applied, and thereby amplifying the speed increase. Such a thing would mean less leaning forward to move ahead, but at the same time increasing the risks for using the instrument at all. The speed increase also increased the danger at which the hoverboard produced, not only to the rider, but to anybody else who might have been in the way. All that didn't really matter that much, though, since he was just about done, once this last part was completed. The IO Regulator wasn't that difficult to install, though he did need to test it a bit. Which would mean going outside, getting back onto it, and likely falling off a few more times before getting it just right. But that would mean possibly going a distance away from the house, which was counter-intuitive for the whole reason of being here in the first place. So, he decided he'd try and make his last few tests at some other time, or maybe later on when he went to leave, when all the work was done.
For now, though, Hiro was just going to hang out, thinking about some other things that he could create. While he let his mind wander, he started to look around the place. The kitchen, from what he could see, had been completely retro-fitted to fit Capsule's needs as a Pharmacist, but the next thing he noticed was the bear, which was basically destroying Capsule's honey supplies. Smiling lightly at this, he chuckled at the thought of the bear being an addict to the honey. Much like that old Pooh character from a long time ago, that he'd heard about sometimes. The internet liked to bring that up a lot not too long ago, but that's beside the point. He then looked over at Bosco, holding out his hand a bit to pet the dog. If the dog walked over to him, Hiro would begin to pet the dog gently behind its ears. He loved pets, knowing that they also loved to be pet, but also that most pets were quite loyal to their owners and others who liked to hang around them. Hopefully, Hiro brought about a decent aura, so that Bosco wouldn't be afraid of him. Again, if the dog came over to him, Hiro would pet it's head until whenever Capsule was all done with making the potion. From the amount of noise and such that he'd heard from the kitchen, it sounded like it would be fairly soon.

[attr="class","capsol"] After a minute or two of tending to the pot, Capsule felt safe enough to turn the stove off. There was the ever so faint scent of burned bark and pot, but nothing major. A fire had not broken out, and the potion itself was in no danger of being ruined. Just… it was not perfect, but then again, what invention was? It was why software got patched, and the original inventions improved over the course of months or years. Just look at the first car, for example. It was so flimsy and inefficient, compared to the modern car. The muscle cars of the seventies and eighties were later replaced with cars built from a sort of plastic, rather than hard metal. Hell, even her lesser mana potion was a great example for this topic. She had made the greater mana potion to supply more mana, which was a better alternative for high leveled Adventurers.
Capsule plucked a single hair from her head, and dropped it into the pot. What Hiro did not know would not kill him. Still, she sort of hunched up her shoulders as she worked, hoping he did not happen to peek his head around the corner and ask to see her potion. The hair was still visible, for crying out loud. She hurriedly mixed the contents of the pot until the long strand of white hair vanished. Good. This was good. She could see hide nor hair (ha) of the white strand.
A soft yap from Bosco caused Capsule to jump. The Enchanter had wandered away from the pot to grab something. She almost expected to see Hiro leaning over the pot, and finding the hair. Instead, she saw Bosco trotting out of the kitchen to sniff at the hand Hiro was offering. Bosco had a big, dopey grin on his face as Hiro began to pet him. Of course! Bosco was great at distracting people, even if it only meant being cute and agreeable (for once). Maybe that was his calling -- providing service as a companion animal, and being meddlesome when things got sticky. Bosco was there to keep her company when she was not spending time with Mute. He was actually a pretty good dog, and was being less aggressive towards people now. Well, as long as they were not jerks or Heretics.
After a few more seconds of observing Bosco and Hiro, Capsule returned to the pot, an empty flask and vial in one hand, a syringe in the other. She gentle set the flask down, and used the syringe to poke at a strip of bark in the pot. It was thickly slathered with the deep blue potion, and succulent, to boot. Capsule filled the syringe and emptied it into the vial. Viewing it from this angle, the potion was a bit lighter. She continued to fill the vial until it threatened to overspill, and then proceeded to carefully pour it into the flask. Once done, Capsule gave the flask a gentle shake. This was her preferred method of carrying potions. The ones she used were not transparent, so no one could just look at the outside and guess the interior. They would actually have to read the item description or drink the stuff to find out what it was.
The flask was pleasantly warm in her hands. Hopefully it would not be too warm to drink. "Hiro," she softly called as she left the kitchen. "It is ready." There was a soft sound of heavy paws shuffling across the hardwood kitchen floor. Aleksei had decided to join in on the experiment. Well, watch. He was a curious old bear. With nervous hands, Capsule held the potion out for Hiro to take. "I present you with the Doppelgänger Potion. Symptoms may include shrinking, nausea, the urge to hug cute things, and heaviness of the chest." It was a pretty bad joke, but it might lower any anxiety he may have felt. "I may also require you to go outside and practice some of your skills. I want to see if it forces you to revert back to normal, like it should." It was supposed to work like the Skinwalking potion, in which an attack or being attack forced the user to revert. [attr="class","capsol"] A groan was heard from the woman's mouth. She shook her head a bit, wondering what exactly had transpired to give her such a headache. Her vision wasn't quite focused yet, but she could see the dog, Bosco, standing and panting just nearby. It was then that she realized, she was laying down. Moving herself up, she noticed that her chest felt a bit heavier than usual. Not a lot heavier, but it was a different feeling altogether. Still dazed and confused, she began to look down at herself. A sudden shock flashed across her eyes, causing them to be opened wide. She held her hands out in front of her, noticing how they were a bit smaller than they used to be, and then... There were those. Still beside herself, she began to slowly close her hands in towards them. An audible gulp could be heard, just before the hands reached their destination. And then, a moment later, her hands were atop her chest. It felt too real... Like soft marshmallows on top of her breast. They were so soft. "Holy shit..." She began. "I HAVE TITS!" Letting go of her chest, she looked up to see herself there. "Wait a minute..."
It was at this time that Hiro regained full consciousness of what had been transpiring just a few moments before. He very quickly recalled petting Bosco, and then being given a rather warm mixture inside a flask from the Pharmacist just before him. Hiro then remembered taking a sip from the flask, and then his memory blanked out from there. Judging by the fact that he was laying down on the ground, he must have fallen over or something. Luckily enough, life alert wasn't needed, because despite having fallen down, he could still get up. As he began to stand up, he suddenly felt very uneasy. Not only did he just grope himself in front of Capsule, but he basically groped Capsule since he now looked like her, supposedly. "Right..." He said. "Sorry about that. Just a little confused at the start." A blush found its way slowly shaping up across his face. It was about this time that he noticed his voice was exactly like her's, though it was kind of weird to hear her voice with his mannerisms. "Got a mirror around here?" He asked, looking around. He saw a mirror nearby on one of the walls, and began to walk towards it.
Hiro looked in the mirror, to find Capsule's face staring right back at him. He flinched a bit, still not quite used to seeing such a thing just yet, but continued to look into the mirror. Surprisingly enough, he did look just like her, despite the fact that he was in his own clothing. Mental note: Appearance Changing potions don't change one's clothing. Although, Capsule didn't look too bad in his blue dress shirt and black pants combo. Maybe he'd offer the idea to her at some point, in case she wanted a change in outfit? Probably a bit too narcissistic of him to think, especially since he wasn't the most fashionably minded person in the world. He took a few steps back, and spun around a bit, confirming that his entire body had changed to the female's form. He wasn't about to start stripping down, since he might actually already be on thin ice with the whole situation earlier. Thinking that that would be enough, Hiro stood back away from the mirror, and started to hop around a bit on his feet. He needed to feel the difference in his movements for now, just for the hell of it. He wanted to get used to being in someone else's image, just in case he needed to do it again at another time in the future.
He started to stretch, as he looked over to the alpha-Cap, a question in his mind. "So, what did you say I had to do after taking this potion?" Hiro wondered. "I think I hit my head on the ground or something." A few more questions piled up in his mind, which he thought it would be best to ask, for Capsule's future knowledge. "Also, what was the transformation sequence like? Was it like a gradual change, or did it just kinda happen all of a sudden?" He was pretty curious about it all himself, but his curiosity was very quickly interrupted by a weird feeling in his mouth. His face cringed a bit, as he opened up his mouth and reached onto his tongue with his fingers. Pinching on something, he began to pull out a hair of some sort. It was long and white, much like Capsule's hair. Maybe he'd accidentally knocked a lock out of his head and it fell onto his mouth without him knowing. "Weird." He mumbled to himself, moving over to a trash can and placing it in there. For the time being, he'd just wait for her to answer his first question, because he had actually completely forgotten what she had asked earlier. Might have been his fault, but he couldn't really remember it for the life of him. Maybe this was some kind of adverse effect of the potion? Nah, had to be when he hit his head. Probably.

[attr="class","capsol"] It almost could have been a scene from an anime -- minus the dramatic music, lighting, and semi-erotic nature of a nude silhouette slowly having a costume plastered onto their body. It was almost anti-climactic in that regard, but Capsule was not expecting a big show to begin with. There was not one with her Skinwalking potion, and even the Appearance Change potion worked overnight. Or at least she thought the Skinwalking transformation was simple. She had not had a mirror handy to observe the change. This is what made having a guinea pig a valuable perk.
It was a rather pleasant observation. After drinking the potion, Hiro got all wobbly, and would have crashed hard into the floor, had Capsule not softened his fall with Nightmare Sphere. Once down and out, the obviously male Monk's features gradually changed in a span of two minutes. His facial features softened as a scar wormed its way into his cheek, and his red hair grew down to his waist. A shock of white sprung up at his bangs, and worked its way down. Watching a pair of breasts pop into his chest was probably the strangest part for Capsule. The second was how delicate the rest of his body turned, and seemed to shrink -- both in height and in weight.
She was staring at the beta- Capsule as s/he slowly came to. It was disappointing to see that clothing had not changed to match hers. It might require a bit more tinkering to get something like that right… But a true master of disguise would carry around a set of extra clothes or armor that match their target. Or maybe if she tampered with it correctly, the potion should allow another to mimic the current appearance of another? Deep in thought, Capsule furrowed her brow. Perhaps an illusion would actually be best? Rather than making a temporary Appearance Change potion, she could instead skew her research towards something less drastic? It was not intended to last too long, anyway.
Hiro's sudden exclamation about having tits startled the Enchantress out of her thoughts. He… no, she, was groping her newly acquired breasts. That was to be expected, but it still made the real Capsule blush. It was so weird to see herself touching herself, without the aid of a mirror. She almost started to mimic the movements, but quickly stopped herself from doing so. Poor Bosco looked mildly confused by the fact that there were now two Capsules in the room, while Aleksei managed to look bored. The bear was older and wiser than the young dog, and could tell who was who without trouble.
"Um. That is fine…" She was too stunned to be upset about the groping. It was just so damn surreal to see herself strutting over to a nearby mirror. That was her body double over there, though it moved in ways she rarely did, or was aware of, for that matter. Anyone who knew her well enough would be thrown off by the clone. The physical mimicry was spot on, but the mannerisms were all wrong. She had to fight hard to not poke and prod beta- Capsule when she left the mirror to stand closer to the alpha- Capsule.
"Oh, I just wanted to see you use any of your Monk skills, preferably on one of the monsters outside of my property." There were plenty to choose from, and sometimes she even heard a Golem Sentinel walking back and forth near the base of the mountain. The poor thing had glitched out a while ago, but Capsule could not be bothered to put it out of its misery. As glitchy as it might be, it served as a suitable deterrent for anyone who might nose around her property. She neatly folded her arms behind her back as Hiro gave her more questions. "The transformation was gradual, and a little too long for my tastes. The final product should be nearly instant, or around five to ten seconds for the full transformation."
She froze in place as beta- Capsule pulled a long strand of white hair from her mouth. "Ehehe. The cons of having long hair. Sometimes it gets into your mouth or eyes." Thank goodness Hiro did not seem to suspect otherwise. Alpha- Capsule edged towards the front door. "There have been a few Brier Weasel gangs forming around here, lately. They like to think that they are stealing the scraps from my garbage bin, but I leave it there for them." You never know when you will need a test subject, after all.
Alpha- Capsule led beta- Cap outside, and around back. Outside of her property line, there was a tall can of garbage, and beside it, a small compost heap she had been forming over time for the weasels. As expected, there was a trail of old and fresh tracks. It led down to a low growing bush, where she knew their burrow was. Alpha- Capsule squatted down beside the burrow entrance, and with soft words convinced one of the weasels to reveal itself.
The Brier Weasel was level thirty five, and very sure of himself. He regarded the beta- Capsule with scorn, even going as far as waggling his vine tail at her. To Alpha- Capsule, the weasel stared up expectantly. It was silently demanding food for its trouble, but it would find none. "Attack this one. You should revert back to normal, once you do." The con of this potion was for the illusion to shatter once the affected used a skill, especially a main class one. It was a potion for espionage and surprise attacks, ya know. [attr="class","capsol"] Still feeling mildly embarrassed about the whole ordeal with the groping of someone else's chest, though for the time, it was his own, he listened to the Alpha-Cap explain things. So the transformation itself wasn't very fast at all, but fairly gradual. Definitely not good for stealth operations, which he assumed this whole thing was for. Might be some tweaking the woman had to do, but that wasn't his concern at all for the time being. As much as he was confused about how it all happened, he wondered why he had passed out to begin with. Then again, that might have been a side-effect of the potion itself, since it was in fact the prototype. Hiro had had much in the way of similarities with things like that with his own crafting, so such things weren't foreign to the mechanic. Having understood this, he was reminded that Capsule wanted him to try out using a skill or something, in order to change back to his own form. Hiro nodded a bit as Capsule explained the weasels behind her house that were probably not much of a problem, but would work as a good test dummy.
Hiro attempted to follow the original Capsule out back, fumbling and tripping every so often. He wasn't used to her body height, which meant he wasn't used to walking around with her legs, instead of his own. He had to take some shorter strides, since normally, his longer legs allowed for him to cover more distance. That being said, though, he still managed to follow her out to the back, where she showed him the weasels. Saying that this would be the target, she instructed him again that he should turn back to normal after using a skill. Well, that's all well and good, but he didn't know this body well enough to even reliably perform one of his skills. Well, except for maybe one or two. But the first one he thought of was that Hadouken-style ability, but that had a charge-up time, which meant that would probably end up scaring it off, instead of actually hitting it. Though, its smug little face did make him want to kick it pretty hard... So, maybe that's what he'd do. He'll just straight up kick it. Maybe not enough to kill it in one move, but it sure as hell would be kinda fun to punt something a long distance. As such, he stepped back a bit.
Letting his leg charge up a bit, as a golden aura began to appear around his leg. The Weasel, whom he figured didn't suspect anything of this attack, sat there, sneering at him while his leg charged up. Stepping forward a bit, Hiro brought his leg up, in order to punt the Weasel a far way away with Megaton Impact. But, given that he hadn't been used to Capsule's body yet, his leg ended up being just a bit short, and ended up kicking one of the items in the pile of junk, sending it flying up into the atmosphere. Since the skill did, in fact, hit something, the body of the woman shattered into Hiro's normal form. Since he had kicked fairly hard, too, and didn't hit the target, he ended up flopping onto his back as a result. "Ow..." He groaned, looking at the Weasel. It seemed like it was laughing at him for his mess up, and bounced back into its burrow. Without even having kicked the monster at all, Hiro remained on his back for a few seconds, embarrassed. Well, at least he knew that Capsule's potion worked, had the desired effect, and deactivated when a skill was used. Eventually, though, he stood back up and looked at Capsule. "Well..." He began. "At least it works... Right?" She was probably laughing at this point, which he could understand. Perhaps he could try and pass it off by laughing a bit, himself. He waited for her reply, though, before he did anything else.

[attr="class","solcap"] The little weasel wrinkled its nose first at Alpha- Capsule, then at the Beta. The little creature was obviously confused by this turn of events. The Enchantress had never demanded something from him or his brethren before. Normally she would just scold them or shoo them away from that delicious cylinder of old food. The weasel slightly dipped his head to the side, as if lost in thought. She never berated them when they raided the heap of rotting veggie scraps, however. There was even meat in there too, from time to time. Meat! It was a much desired commodity. Why would she leave such tasty little morsels like that out in the open? Those Adventurers were just not right in the head, bro.
Even now, the second woman that looked a lot like the Enchantress, but did not smell like her, was being strange. She struck him as being a very clumsy individual. A sneer formed on his tiny face. Was this lame woman supposed to be his meal or something? Geeze Louise, how was he supposed to defeat something like that? It would be nearly impossible on his own, and take forever… Unless he called some of his brothers for assistance. With the lot of them, they could have this broad flat on her back in five minutes flat. Ugh, it sounded so filthy when he thought about it. According to his cousin Elroy, most of Adventurers liked to face each other while procreating. It was gross. Why would you want to look your partner in the eye? Talk about a real mood killer.
As the glowing leg of the Beta Capsule went soaring into a pile of junk, the weasel opened its little mouth to issue a snort. What are thoooose? Nice kick, jerk. An unfortunate can went soaring high into the air, leaving the weasel unharmed. He giggled as the Beta fell onto her back, but also sort of… changed into a male Adventurer with red hair. The weasel had to double check, just to be sure. Yup. He did not have a front butt on his chest. Whatever. The Enchantress was not giving him anything good, other than a funny story to tell to his bros. Later, nerds.
Capsule glanced at the weasel as it bounded off her its little burrow. It was acting like it owned the place, and Hiro’s misstep meant that it could carry on as a smug rodent. Despite the minor annoyance Capsule felt because of the rat, there was a soft smile on her face. "Yeah, that is all that matters. I still want to make a few adjustments, but I can do that later." She took a step away from the burrow, the gears in her head spinning with eagerness. "I think it might be easier if I have the effect be more of an illusion, that way you can look like someone else, but it is really your body beneath. So that you can move normally like usual." That was one of the main faults of the prototype. Hiro had a hard time of moving around in her body, and a ten minute span was not long enough to learn such details.
She fell silent as she began to lead Hiro back to the house, lost in her own thoughts again. Was there anything else she was missing? Going the illusion route should amend things… It might warrant much testing later. Now that she knew that it worked and there were no apparent side effects, it might be safe to have Mute test it. Maybe. In any case, she was more or less done with the product.
Not sure what else to do now, Capsule tried to force some small talk. "Do you have any complaints, Hiro? Or anything you want to know?" Ah, yes. Here we have the socially awkward Pharmacist attempting to have a bedside manner. [attr="class","capsol"] Hiro vaulted himself up onto his feet, flipping over himself backwards, and then onto his feet. He nodded as Capsule mentioned that she would have to make some adjustments, but that was neither here nor there for him. He followed the woman as she was walking back into her house, listening as she was talking mostly to herself, though explaining what she would need to do. He was bothered slightly by the look that the weasel gave them, as it had returned to its home, but that wasn't the point of this all. The point was to have tried out Capsule's invention, which he had helped do so now, so perhaps all that was left was the process by which one would, and should, improve upon the prototype. This was just the way progress worked, and it made sense that she would be trying to figure out what she needed to do ahead of time. As he walked back into the house, he sat down where he had been sitting before, thinking about everything that he felt while in the female's form. Well, not literally 'felt', per se, but the sensation of being someone else for a short period of time.
His attention spiked up to Capsule as she asked him some questions. He chuckled a bit, as it seemed like she was actually turning into something like a doctor for a few moments. "Not that I can think of, no." Hiro began. "While I'm a little pissed that I couldn't launch that weasel into space, that was my own miscalculation. I'm far too used to my own body's proportions, so maybe that illusion idea you were talking about would make things a lot easier." He couldn't really add all that much more onto the topic, since he didn't know enough about pharmacology to be of any use after this point. Then again, if she needed a further test subject, while Hiro was here, he wouldn't mind offering his assistance. Then again, being in the way of a doctor wasn't his ideal pastime. So, he figured he'd go ahead and ask. "So, since I likely can't help much further from here, did you still need me here for anything?" The second he said that, he realized just how rude he was actually being. "I-I mean, I just figured I'd get out of your way, if you were still working, or if you were going to keep on working, that's all!" He found himself slightly flustered, trying to find the right words.
"I figure that I'd just ask in case you needed me here for a little while, because I can just hang out for a bit. Maybe if you've got some stuff you need done around here, I could just offer to do it?" He wanted to be as useful as possible to the woman, before he would be forced to leave. He wouldn't mind hanging out for a bit, even just to help with some chores that she needed to get done. He always felt like he needed to be useful, whenever he was at someone else's house. But, he figured it'd be good to leave a disclaimer, too. "That being said, if you're all set with what you need from me, I can get outta your way." There was absolutely no way for him to speak without causing a raised eyebrow, or without Capsule possibly thinking that he's bored or something. Instead, all he tried to do from there was smile, and wait for her response. He'd stay if she wanted/needed him to, and he'd go if he was just in the way. She probably had her reasons for being busy with things recently, and he wouldn't want now, of all times, to get on the Enchanter's bad side. Especially if she can make potions to even change her shape. She could poison his food at any time, without him even realizing it. Such a thought found its way in his mind, as he waited for her to reply to his offer(s), a cold chill running along his spine as it did.
