Health Potion Part 1
HP 100% | MP 100%
Valandil navigated the old ST. PANCRAS train station with a purposeful step. Every now and then stopping, only briefly, to decide on a direction or marvel at a specific aspect of the derelict surroundings. The station was like a monument to the exacting progression of time.
Determined to stock up on potion and other useful status altering agents, he quickly found his way to a vacant spot in one of the dilapidated buildings. This craft, and Valandil in turn, required somewhere quiet to employ the specific trait. His chosen spot was in the corner of the building. Mostly shaded from the outside, except for the missing upper corner where roof and wall met.
Conveniently a section of rubble had arranged itself into a flat, impromptu working station that would conform to his requirements perfectly. Settling on a piece of concrete that he dragged closer with some effort and exertion, he took out a bundle of nondescript florae. These base herbs will form a component of all the recipes that he decided to use.
After getting comfortable, Valandil took one of the herb’s leaves in hand and held it up to the sunlight, a moment of musing later he shrugged and popped it into his mouth. “Doesn't taste like anything... Should have guessed” he said after swallowing. It occurred to him as a pharmacist subclass he might be able to distinguish different plant's composition and effect by taste, but this seemed to not be the case...or not the case at his level. Concentrating for a moment he checked his status screen and reassured that his status did not change from ingesting the leaf, he continued.
“Extracts are prepared by separating the soluble matter from vegetable tissues by application of a suitable solvent like alcohol, water or ether. The resultant liquid is concentrated by evaporation to obtain a liquid extract or concentrated almost to dryness to obtain the solid extract. Depending on the solvent used, the extracts are classified as alcoholic, etheral or aqueous” Valandil recounted from memory. The line was from a book on Phytochemistry and Ethnopharmacology that he read in real life...or did he just intuitively know it - knowledge implanted artificially. When Elder Tale was still a just game you would have simply just combined the ingredients of the required product’s recipe and the item would be in your inventory. Now... who knows what now... You had to follow the laws of real life and the game mechanics of this alternate world?
Resolute, Valandil pushed the thought aside and retrieved the necessary equipment from his inventory he will use to crush the herbs. The equipment to start the process of separating the soluble matter from vegetable tissues.
