Haneroze sat on a bench located in what would appear to be the town's square. Everyone seemed lost, but many gathered there. It had only been an hour since everyone was transported there. Haneroze had the feeling this situation would not last just a moment. She had to learn to live in this place. So, to adapt as quickly as possible, she wanted to catch hold of as many rumors as possible. That is why she chose to sit where many people gathered.
"Let's start with the beginning. How possibly could one somehow manage to be transfered into this game? Virtual Reality is not even close to be invented, and my body was not connected to anything. Nobody could possibly have managed to knock up so many players inconscious. Me or Dimitri would have noticed it if someone entered our appartment. From outside? No, the windows were closed, and my brother would have heard the glasses breaking."
She looked at everyone. Nearly everyone was still trying to get a grasp of the situation. She could get a glimpse of nearly all conversations as she is used to just listen. There was all kind of people. Smart and stupid people alike got into this world, there was no discrimination.
A particular conversation caught her attention with "in a cafe". She focused on this one.
-For real? Were you the only ones?
-No, I think about half of us decided to play Elder Tales.
-We were about 20 in the Internet cafe... The others were playing different games...
"Now that I think of it, what happened to our bodies in real life? Did we fall into a comatose state? Did our bodies mysteriously disappear? Or did time freeze and we'll wake up in the end in front of our computer like nothing ever happened? At any rate, it seemed everyone here were people that decided to play Elder Tales, so there is no doubt that playing this game is the cause of our arrival here... Thought I still don't see how that could be possible... What are the odds of Dimitri actually arriving here too?"
She tried to hear anything about the moment people played Elder Tales. However, no one talked about which day they actually started playing. Some were saying that they were eager to start, but no one said they wanted to wait before joining.
"No late-comers... Seeing how everyone arrived here and seemed to react at the same time, I assume everyone was unconscious and we all woke up at the same time. If new people arrive here in the next few days, then the game didn't close and people can still play, meaning there's a chance Dimitri will arrive here. If no one does, then the game must have locked itself after the first day, and Dimitri would only have come if he failed to his homework... No, even then... He should have noticed eventually me falling unconscious or disappearing, and immediately taken me to the hospital or starting to search me. Aaah, that means he'll fail his homework... Or, wait, such a huge event should have easily drawn the attention of the Medias, and assuming the majority of us are students, schools would probably have to close until..."
Suddenly, she heard someone say he was hungry.
"Hungry...? So, despite having taken online avatars as bodies, we still feel the need for eating? That would also apply for other primordial needs? So, we still need to sleep, to eat... Guess I am breathing too. My priority should be about getting food. Do I have any on myself?"
Haneroze tried to open her menu. She wasn't sure of how exactly she did last time, as it was by mistake. After three tries only, she managed to bring it back up. Immediately, she headed to her inventory. However, it was empty. She took notice of the bag attached on one of her ribbons and opened it, but it was empty too. Maybe it was the same inventory, but the usual illogic inventory size that are in RPGs came to mind, she wondered if that was also the case here.
"For now, let's see where I can find something to eat..."
She stood up and look around. No one seemed to have brought any food yet. She looked higher to see if there was somewhere she could have a better view of the areas. She found a hill that seemed to be high enough, so she headed there.
