Kuro was aimlessly walking through the emptier alleys of London, as he did whenever he had some time. Although he did so, after dark, most of the times. These "evening/night strolls" helped him to think and "relax". This evening he was thinking about a particular offer made by one of his oldest friends here in the "New Reality" (as he liked to call it) Dumah. (Joining a guild?) "Huh." (I don't do well in big groups, but from what I know, they aren't so big yet.) He changed directions when he saw a bigger group of Adventurers and People of the Land walking in his direction (probably from a pub) and went into one of the smaller "side alleys". (And it'd be kinda nice feeling to have someone, who'd have your back.) Arriving at the river the assassin looked around and to his pleasant surprise he noticed one of his other friends.
Katarina was standing at the bank of the river looking in the water. (She didn't notice me yet.) "Heh." He grinned. (This'll be fun.) "{Hiding Entry}." Kuro was really good at sneaking and parkour even without any "abilities", mostly due to his almost daily training at both and he was realy satisfied with himself in that matter. So when you add the "invisibility buff" he just used, Katarina had no chance of noticing him. He loved to scare his friends, he didn't know why, it also tested his "stealth skills" every time he did so. When he was right at her side he "turned off" the {Hiding Entry} ability and loudly spoke up: "So! How are you doing? Also how come you're up so late?" ____________________________________________________________

Katarina sighed. She had spent the entire day looking for something to do, anyone to party with, but, alas, Londinium could be a very dull place. It was almost funny. They were in a video game for Christ's sake! They were in a game where magic was real, and adventure was around pretty much every corner, and yet, Kat so often found herself bored out of her skull. Opening her menu, Kat looked at her guild page. They had gotten a new member recently, another fox tail. Even with her though, Noihara was only five members strong. They needed more. Dumah had tried to get Kuro to join up, but he just said that he'd "think about it". Kat knew him well enough; that was basically his version of "Not in a million years". Understandable, Kuro was a bit of a loner, but still, Elder Tale didn't treat solo player's well. Maybe she could rope Cecil into joining...
Well, it didn't matter anyways. It was midnight, she may as well hit the hay. She stood up-
-and Kuro started to speak. Okay, Kat wasn't going to lie, that scared her a bit. And by a bit, she meant a lot. Kuro blinked as he watched Kat scramble to compose herself.
'You arse...' "Have I ever mentioned I bloody hate you sometimes?" she muttered, glaring daggers into Kuro. He had made it a habit to try and scare Kat and Dumah as much as possible. Didn't quite work with Dumah. Kat on the other hand... well, she was very easily startled.
Looking at her curiously, Kuro asked why she was up so late. "No particular reason, I was just about to head home actually. You?" she asked, somewhat curious.

After his succesful scare, Kuro watched as Katarina was recovering from the "shock". She started crsing at him while saying she hate's his and as he knew she didn't really hate him, it made him grinn even more, so somone might mistake his face for a "joker mask", even though it didn't last longer then few moments.
At his question of her late-night "presence" she was just walking around and was just about to go home. Kuro already overcame his biggest "introvert-wall" when it came to Katarina. He even enjoyed her company and the very rare "chats", although she might have not noticed, because those chats weren't much longer than the planning before a fight. So it might have suprised her when he answered with an "essey".
"Well... I live more at night than I do at day. When you need to get somwhere there's almost no traffic, it is easier to avoid attackers or loose them when they do find you. Also when I have nothing to do, I like to wander 'round London at night, when there is the least ammount of people to annoy you, trying to sell you something or somone trying to recruit you. It makes me relax and helps me think." He realised that she might take the "recruiting part" the wrong way. "I didn't mean it.. I mean... It was not an implication 'bout Dumah's offer." He looked at her. "To be honest, that's what I was thinking about right now acctualy." He smiled at her and leaned on a nerby wall. "You might be surprised, but I am acctualy thinking about it, although I am still not sure." He looked around to see few Adventurers walking in or out of taverns. (Good, nothing of any danger.) Our assassin tried to be always aware of his surroundings, so he'd be ready for anything: attacks (but those only in the wild) or somone trying to find their next target. But he was still aware of Kat and was waiting for her reaction. ____________________________________________________________

"No particular reason, I was just about to head home actually. You?" Kat asked curiously. Apparently according to Kuro he "lived more" at night. Well then. That was a new one. "Elaborate." Kuro explained how there was less traffic at night, which was a fair point, and how there was less people out to annoy him, people out to recruit him-
Kat winced. Okay, she had to give him that one...
Seeing her reaction, Kuro quickly tried to backtrack, frantically sputtering out how he wasn't talking about Dumah. Yeah, right.
Kat rolled her eyes. "Of course it wasn't. I mean, why would it be? It definitely doesn't sound like you're mashing the verbal backspace as hard as possible." she snarked.
Ignoring the snark, Kuro turned to face Kat, telling her that he was seriously considering the offer and-wait what.
Kat had to admit, she wasn't expecting that. Honestly, she had given up on recruiting Kuro. The guy was adamant on being a solo player for whatever reason, so the thought that he might willingly join the guild was a shock, to say the least.
"Wait, really? What brought this on?" she asked. Something must've happened, because the Kuro she met a while ago wouldn't even humour the possibility of joining a guild. "Don't get me wrong; Noihara's still happy to have you, but, well... I just never expected you to actually want to join."

Katarina was clearly not expecting that. "Heh" (Knows me that well, huh.) She asked him why would he join, that made Kuro look at her, somewhat confused. She then hurried to asure him that she'd be glad if he joined, but that it's simply not his "style". "Well, yeah. It is kinda not my thing, huh?" He smiled at her. "But not so long time ago I learned that you can't do everything solo in this world. Or at least, definitely not with my level... and I learned it the hard way." He then took off his hood, which happened rarely, showing that half of his right ear is missing. "I wandered around the world and well, got suprised by some mobs... I died and before that I lost half of my ear and for some to me unknown reason, it did not "regenerate" when I respawned. From what I gathered, that never happened to anyone, but that doesn't bother me, because everything else respawned alright. Anyway that's the reason that I would maybe, like to have someone, who'd have my back." After he was done talking he put the hood back on. He was kinda nervous, 'cause he usualy did not share so much information with anyone, unless it was necessary, but he was trying to ingore it. He knew Kat and he new she doesn't want to "hurt him". "You know, it is kinda... 'relieving' to share this with someone, but if you don't want to be bothered with my problems, I get that." He truly would get it, as he knew well enough that not everyone wants to be bothered by everyones' problems. "Hey, do you want to join me on my 'stroll'? When I walk, it helps me think and the city is kinda nice at night." ____________________________________________________________

"Noihara's still happy to have you, but, well... I just never expected you to actually want to join."
Kuro smiled, acknowledging her point. Guilds definitely did not seem like his thing. His face fell as he continued to speak, saying how he learnt that he couldn't just work alone. Grimacing, Kuro ripped his hood off of his head, and Kat winced. Half of Kuro's right ear was missing, presumably lopped off by some kind of mob. Nervously, Kuro continued. Apparently, his ear didn't regen when he respawned.
Kat's eyes widened. His ear didn't regen?
"As far as I'm aware, you're the first one that this has happened to." Kat muttered when Kuro stopped speaking. Kuro added something else about how he wasn't really bothered by the missing body part, but Kat didn't listen to that. Her mind was on overdrive, thinking of any possible reason why his ear didn't regen. It just didn't make sense, by all accounts Kuro should be standing there with two whole ears, but...
Kuro sighed, saying that Kat didn't need to listen if she didn't want to.
Kat waved her arms frantically. "No, no it's fine, share whatever you'd like, I don't mind. Really, I don't." she said quickly, wondering if she gave the wrong impression. The two were silent for some time until Kuro spoke up, inviting Kat on his stroll.
"...Eh, what the hay, sure, I'll go." she replied. "No reason not to."

After Katarina accepted his offer they went alongside the river. They were silent for a while and Kuro didn't mind, but since he invited her to go with him, he felt that he should probably say something. "So..." Kuro had no idea what to talk about untill he remeberd something that happened not so long time ago on a certain quest. "So, how's your acting preformance doing? Are you getting better at staying in character?" He started grinning. "Because it is somewhat confusing when you meet 'a cute lil' shy girl and suddenly she turns into a calculative criminal mastermind." Kuro made sure that nobody was near them (or at least not near enough) so noboy could hear them. "I do have to admit it is useful at times, even though mostly for you. I mean, what guy wouldn't want to protect a weak shy 'cute' girl. But I never truly belived your shy act, not from the beggining. It was 'cause of your introduction. You mentioned you usualy play assassins, but the act you were trying to pull off did not match with that. Kuro looked at Katarina's changing facial expressions and could not help himself and laughed a littlebit. After the conversation was nearing a stop Kuro asked: "You mentioned before, that you have a home. Where is it? I could 'escort'.. He "chuckled" at the word. you if you want to, don't want to take away your precious sleep." He grinned a little bit for a second. "Or if you feel awake we can maybie go do something. Go hunting ot just go into an inn?"____________________________________________________________ [Word count: 268 Tags: @bornfromvelvet]

"Eh, what the hay, I'll go. No reason not to."
Kat and Kuro walked in silence for a while after that. Kuro looked seemingly desperate for a conversation topic. Suddenly, he grinned, asking if she had finally learned how to stay in-character. Kat sighed. That's what he chose to talk about? Kuro's grin widened evermore as he saw Kat's expression.
"Shots fired..." Kat muttered softly. Raising her hands in defense, she started to speak. "Hey, to be fair at the time the shy act seemed like it'd do more harm than good. Adolf seemed like he would've been able to see through the shy act straight away, and I thought that if he brought up that I was acting, Sayha would've turned a blade on me." she said. Okay, fine, she was lying through her teeth, she didn't think anything like that at he time. Truth of the matter was she just slipped up, but Kuro didn't need to know that. He already had enough ammo for embarrassing her.
Kuro was still grinning, obviously not believing her lie. Damn. "Okay fine, I didn't mean to go OOC, you got me." she admitted, her face slipping into a smile. Honestly, despite Kuro's relentless teasing, Kat was enjoying their little talk. Kuro was always a massive loner, and he was the least talkative person Kat had met by far. The Kuro that she was talking to today seemed almost like a completely different person by comparison, and Kat had to admit, the new Kuro's smile was infectious.
The two adventurers spoke a little more about Kat's shy act, with Kuro glancing around periodically to make sure no one else was around eavesdropping. Eventually, Kuro asked about why she used it in the first place.
"I find that generally people like 'moe Katarina' better than 'snarky cynical arsehole Katarina', and plus, people always seem to want to side with and protect me when I act like t-this..." she explained, ending off by looking down at the ground and stuttering.
Kuro grinned at her little demonstration, admitting that her act did have its uses. His grin widened as he added that he never believed her act from the beginning.
Kat laughed. "Yes, I am well aware." she chuckled "But, to be fair, at the beginning you didn't trust or believe anyone in our motely crew." Her happy smile quickly turned into a smirk. "I did notice, you know. Right from the get-go, you were trying to figure us out, looking for any and all slip-ups."
Kuro started to grin again. Oh great. He teasingly asked if Kat wanted to know how he knew that she was faking.
"...Not really, but you're probably going to tell me anyway. Just please tell me it wasn't something so stupidly obvious that literally anyone could notice it. Pretty please?" He's still grinning. "...Damn, it was the most obvious thing in the world, wasn't it?" she sighed. "Alrighty then, this is going to hurt. Tell me."
Apparently, according to Kuro, it was because of her introduction. Somewhat confused, Kat motioned for him to continue. He went on to say that she told him that she used to play an Assassin.
Kat blinked, processing the information. She said she used to play as an Assassin, but why...?
...
....
.....
"Oh for God's sakes!" She groaned, before starting to swear at no one in particular, Kuro laughing all the while.
The conversation continued for a little while longer after that, with both Kat and Kuro getting a couple more shots in at each other, before Kuro stopped walking, asking where she lived or if she wanted to do something.
"Eh, in actuality I don't have a place. Too expensive." she said, gaining an odd look from Kuro. "I normally just crash at the Log Inn." she explained. "I'm practically always lodged there, so whenever I'm talking about it, I just tend to call it my home. And yeah, I'm pretty awake at the moment, I'd be down with doing whatever."

Katarina then corrected herself that she doesn't acctualy own a house, becuase she does not have enough money, which confused Kuro a little bit, but Kat followed to elaborate that she usualy sleeps in the Log Inn and therefor she calls it her home. After that she accepted his "invitation" to do something. Kuro was completely awake so he was glad to hear that answer as he was enjoying this evening a lot. (But god damn, my frickin mouth is starting to hurt. I really need to shut up.) "Good." He said while smiling. I've been kinda bored and going to a pub, that I could do in real life as well and never did. So I say let's go hunting..or ...whatever." He then looked around cheking for any sort of danger. (It's been a really good night.) He smiled at the thought, but "his-for-this-evening-lost" pessimistic side didn't want to go unnoticed. (Maybe too good. Usualy there's at least some trouble...) "Hmmf." Kuro looked around one more time. "Oh sorry. It's been a really calm and good evening, but that doesn't happen that often, so I am kinda cautious He realised he was bringing the mood down. But that's just the regular me. Sorry." He smiled at her "This evening has been really nice and relaxing and I want it to continue like this... even though my 'talking muscles' are starting to get really painful." He grinned. Let's go then.
Kuro liked hights. For tactical reasons as for just simply it being "thrilling" for him, that's why he got a certain idea, when they were walking through the city towards one of the exits and he looked at the roofs. (I want to parkour to the exit... but I am here with Kat, it'd be rude to jump around like a maniac) He got his hopes up a little-bit, even though he was sure that it will not happen, that maybie Kat also likes to "let loose" in the "agility" way, as she used to play as an assassin. "Hey. Just curious... do you enjoy.... 'movement'?" ____________________________________________________________

"I'm pretty awake at the moment, I'd be down with doing whatever."
Kuro smiled, saying that he was getting pretty bored, (Kat grinned at that. Story of her life right there.) and he could head to a inn in real life anyways.
Kat's grin faltered at that. "Well... not anymore anyway..." she muttered. The two were silent for a little while longer, before Kat clapped her hands and forced a smile. "U-uh, anyway, continue! Away from the depressing subjects!" she said comically, attempting to lighten the mood.
It appeared to work, since Kuro went straight back to smiling, happily suggesting that they went hunting. Immediately after saying that, he glanced around the premises, somewhat tense. Was there something going on? Kat's hand instinctively shot for her staff just in case.
Kuro must've seen her reaction, because he started to chuckle sheepishly, saying that open spaces made him feel on edge and that it never hurt to be cautious. The two were silent for a little while longer before Kuro cleared his throat, happily saying that that was an issue for the "regular" him to worry about. Kat chuckled. "Yeah, that did seem something normal you would say." she grinned. He continued, saying that it was a really nice evening and that his talking muscles were getting sore.
Kat barked out a laugh. "Heh, well, I wasn't gonna bring it up..." she started, grinning evermore. "Seriously though, I could only get a couple of words out of you at a time, and that was on your good days. Honestly, you're like a completely different guy." Her grin widened. "...I like this you better." she finished. Kat quickly pulled out a map and showed it to Kuro. "So then, I'm assuming the Greatwood?" Kuro nodded.
Kat looked around the forest that she'd become so familiar with. Honestly, she came here quite a bit, whether it was with a party, or just to kill some time. Of course, whenever she went solo she'd normally leave on 1 HP, but she never brought up that bit to her friends.
Kuro cleared his throat nervously, and turned to Kat. Nervously, he asked if she enjoyed... "movement"?
Well then. That was a new one. Kuro seemed to be coming up with all kinds of quotable phrases tonight. Under normal circumstances, she would mock him for making such an awkward statement, but she caught the hopeful look in his eye.
She chuckled as she figured out what he meant. "You know, I'm not stopping you from doing parkour." she grinned. Kuro gave her a questioning stare, but Kat knew that she answered correctly. "Well, it's either you want to do parkour, or you have a treetop fetish. I highly doubt it's the latter, but hey, I could always be wrong. I've met people who have worse ones." she snarked, all to happy to be the one doing the teasing now. 'Oh, how the tables have turned Kuro!' she thought gleefully.

To Kuro's big surprise she imidietly knew he wanted to do Parkour and assured him she won't stop him if he really want's to do it so bad. (How the hell did she know what I wanted to do?!) She saw his confused face and imidietly made a joke about that he likes parkour or has a treetop fetish. Kuro stood there shocked by that statement. Kat the continued her mocking by saying that she doubts it's the fetish one, but that she new wierder poeple with wierder fetishes. Katarina was obviously enjoying this torture and Kuro knew she was joking, but he couldn't "not-defend" himself at the accusation. "I've never even thought about that and would not want to... do...that.. at all. I have no desire to do that with anyone! I don't even think that way about anyone at a..." Kuro silenced himself as he thought he said enough and too much at the same time. (She might figure it out... and so what if she does, why should it matter?) *Sigh* "Well, we talked enough for a while and I did deserve that." He smiled at her. "So now if you'll excuse me." while saying this he did a backflip and grabbed a nearby branch mid air on which he then folowed to climb on. "I will do some scouting ahead, while you will slowly drag your 'sorry ass' behind me." He was grinning so widely that he had to acctualy use his hand, so it wouldn't hurt so much. The assassin didn't even wait for a response in a fear that Kat would acctualy have some counter-attack, while it could be verbal, or much more painful.
After unqestionably showing off, Kuro did find something to kill. He used telepathy to comunicate with Kat. "Kat, I found something of a... 'chalange' and it was not easy to spot. It's a level 15 Forest Treant about 120-ish feet away from us." Kuro looked around and found an alternative target. "Or if you don't feel like that I can also see some movement in practily the completely other way, but I am not sure what it is, or what level it is. But it did look like some 'briar weasels'." Kuro then waited for Kat to catch up. "So, have you made your mind? Do you want to go against the thing we have information about or do you want to chase a potentially..." He emphasized the word "potentially" a lot. ..."easier enemy. The choice is up to you." He grinned at her. "Of course, I will totaly not judge you, whatever option you make." He said jokingly. ____________________________________________________________

Kat grinned as she watched Kuro scramble to defend himself. Although, something he said did catch Katarina's attention. He didn't want to do that with anyone at all? That seemed like very suspiciously specific reaction. Kuro stopped taking, obviously realising that he's just digging himself deeper at this point.
Kat, hoping to spark a reaction out of Kuro, decided to think about that last statement some more. Either he's being serious, and he's asexual, or he's crushing on someone. Hard. Knowing Kuro's personality, it was probably the former, but Kat was somewhat bored. If it was a crush, who would it be? It would have to be someone Kuro was incredibly close to, someone he was open around. Kat doubted that he was gay or bi (not that there was anything wrong with that!), so it'd probably be a female. What females is he close to? She was about to guess Sayha, but she doubted that was the case, considering Kuro's opinion on her. Hell, Kat was pretty sure that Sayha was his only female friend. So who...?
Kat paused. Wait. She wasn't Joel. She was Katarina. She was a girl. She was pretty close to Kuro. Kuro seemed to be way more open around her.
...Okay, now she REALLY hoped that it was the former. Never did she think that she would ever wish for someone to be asexual, but apparently that was what was happening.
Kat went over the events in her mind. Okay, so there's a 50 50 chance that Kuro is either asexual, and never bothered to tell her, if that was the case she'd be a little annoyed that he didn't trust her but hey, whatever, that's significantly better than option B.
Option B is that Kat's best friend is hitting on Kat while she's in a ten year old's female body and has the mind of a very straight very male teen. Kat has officially dubbed option B "Option Bad". Kat was going to have some serious alone time after this. What words would even describe her situation? Meep. Yes, we're going with meep.
Kat was brought out of her rapidly collapsing mind palace and back into reality and Kuro cleared his throat, blushing. Pleasedon'tbeaconfessionpleasedon'tbeaconfessionpleasedon't-
Kuro sighed, his face red, muttering about how they've talked enough. Oh thank god. Kat could hear the angel choir singing in her head, she could hear the cries of hallelujah in her mind. She found herself delivering praise to every god that she knew about.
...It was moments after she praised Zeus that she wondered if she was actually insane.
Kuro said a couple of other things after that, but Kat didn't care. She was desperately trying to forget what had just transpired. She honestly was hoping and praying that he would come to her and say, "I'm asexual", because honestly that would be really comforting to her at the moment.
Kat shook her head a couple of times in an attempt to clear it. She did not need to worry about Kuro's attraction right now! They were in a forest with mobs. And they were only a party of two. Battle strategies. Tactics. Swords and Healing. HP. Mana. That's what she needed to think about at the moment. Anything but what she was previously thinking about. Thankfully, Kuro provided a quick distraction from her dilemma, telling her that he was going to go scouting. More specifically, that she was going to drag her "sorry ass" behind him.
Kat smirked. She needed to get her mind off of the previous topic. What better way to do that than to snark at people! She opened her mouth, almost hoping for Kuro's sake that he was prepared for the absolute torment he was about to receive-
-and the bastard had already run off, hadn't he? Well, damn. She had to hand it to him, he was smart. He knew she would probably snark him to death. He left on a high note. And left Kat to contemplate the last five minutes. The very, very scary and unknown last five minutes.
Kat sat in silence for a while, until Kat got a notification. It was a chat invite. She clicked the "Accept" button, and Kuro's voice blared to life. Apparently, he had found a couple of mobs that they could fight; a level 15 Forest Treant, or, if they were feeling ballsy, a couple of Briar Weasels that Kuro could not figure out the level of.
Once Kat had caught up, Kuro impatiently asked what they were going to do. Flashing a grin in her general direction, he made sure to add that he'd definitely not judge Kat whatever option she took. Definitely.
Well, whatever. Kat would give him that one. At the moment, all Kat was focused on was the mission at hand. Sure, maybe to Kuro it was still just some fun, but for Kat, every battle was a mission. And they would win it, and get out alive.
"...We're going after the tree." she said with certainty, her voice firm and any expression of the fun-loving teen wiped from her face. "The other enemy is to big of a threat. A single Brier Weasel could take us both out in seconds, if it was a high enough level. The Treant is level 15. If we go after the Weasel, it could potentially be level 46. Do the maths, any idiot could see the logical route here." Kat paused. "Hold on, I need a better view of the area." she said, darting up the tree that Kuro was on, startling him slightly. She would've savoured the moment, but sadly Kuro always seemed to do the funniest stuff when she was in serious mode.
"I can see it." she declared. "I can also see the surrounding area. We're golden. Kuro, can you see the trees that I'm pointing at?" Kat asked as she motioned to three other trees near the Treant. "Those will be your sniping positions. Since this is a Treant, it's going to be immobile, so it can't physically hit you from down there. You'll need to dodge its Sap Shots. They'll slow you down and bring down your attack. Normally, not so bad, but guess what, you're going to be jumping between the three points I've showed you, and slowing down could mean falling. If you fall, I'll aggro it and then run. Once your back in the tree and have aggro'd it again, I'll come back in. It does have Seed Cannon, but I trust you can dodge it. If, and this is a big if, IF it doesn't detect you, if it's lost you at any point, don't move. It's passive ability is called Seismic Detection; basically, what it does is aggro targets by sounds and vibrations from movement. It also suffers no accuracy debuffs. I'm lead to believe the reason why it doesn't suffer from any accuracy debuffs is because it can see through the ground using the vibrations from movement. So, basically, don't move and it can't see you. It'll obviously see you after you fire off the first bolt though; as quiet as crossbows are, they do vibrate quite a bit after a shot."
"Do you understand?" Kat asked Kuro, who seemed speechless. "...You...you do know I earned my spot as Checkmate's Tactician, right? I didn't just get given it for my snarking abilities." she asked, mentioning her old group.
Still silence from Kuro.
"...You're an arse." she deadpanned. "Now, unless you have anything to add, or disagree with the plan, or ANYTHING, this is the time to say it. Once we're in there, it's combat."

Kat decided to go after the treant and her voice was firm and made evident, that there is no questioning her. (Doesn't matter anyway. That's the option I would choose as well) She then folowed to "justify" her decision as the unnkown threat was a bigger threat as it could be a high level enemy and even if it was one of the basic mobs, if high enough level it'd destry them. The tree on the other hand, they had information about it, so the choice was obvious. "Just what I thought." he said, now focused. She looked around and mentioned that shee needs a better perspective of the surroundings. After that, she started climbing on the same tree as Kuro was on. "Ehh, what are you doing?" She did not answer but it was obvious in few seconds. (Oh I am idiot, she wants to have a better view at what we are up against.) When she finaly climbed to the top she was happy with the situation. She then pointed at three trees around the treant marking them as his "sniping positions". Kuro nodded. She came up with a plan a descibed it to Kuro, altogether with all of their enemy's abilities, weaknesses and strengths. When she finished describing her plan he was shocked by the speed with which she came up with the plan. She saw that and mentioned she didn't get the spot of the "Checkmate's Tactician" just out of pitty. (Ok, now it is a thing of pride.) He completely erased any sign of "shock" he had in his face and sat there silent, looking straight into her eyes. After he was silent for some time she got a little mad at Kuro and did not hesitate to say so. He grinned at that. When Kuro stopped grinning she asked if he had any problem with the plan he has to say it now. "Acctualy I agree with everything you said." He was saying while putting his green scarf over his mouth and nose. "I didn't even have a plan. I would have waited 'till I got there and then I would've improvised on spot with only thinking through the first few attacks. He smiled at her. "Now we at least have a better chance of getting out unharmed." When he finished that he jumped onto another tree and said: "Gonna wait on one of the trees!"
As he was nearing his destination, Kuro slowed down and started climbing much more carefuly. (This is gonna be interesting.) When he was on one of the trees he messaged Kat. 'I am on my 1st sniping spot, waiting for you to arrive' When Kuro sent the message, he thought about the "conversation" they had before he went out scoutin'. (When I think about it, Kat was acting really strangely after I tried to defend myself.... misserably.) "Hmm." (I'm gonna have to ask about it later.) While waiting for Kat, Kuro used the {Death Stinger} ability to poison one of his bolts. (I like the new crossbow, it is much more accurate then the first one and does a lot more damage.) He also prepared the {Dimensional Shot} so the first blow would come from a nearby tree that was a lot worse for shooting, but the treeant doesn't know that. "Heh." (This should be fun.) ____________________________________________________________

"Once we're in there, it's combat." Kat finished. He'd probably have some issue with it, knowing her luck, she just had to hope that it was a small one-
He agreed with the plan.
Kat paused. "Wait, really?"
Nodding, Kuro continued, saying that he didn't even have a plan anyways so he's all for Kat's plan.
Kat's disbelieving stare slowing turned into happy laughter. "That. That is quite possibly the single solitary time that someone in this godforsaken game actually agreed with my plan." she explained happily. "Every other time at least one other person doesn't like it and I'm forced to change it. Thank god you actually have enough common sense to see it as the logical route that it is." Kuro smiled at that.
"Well, no time like the present. Let's do this thing." she muttered. Kuro nodded and quickly started to hop to one of the firing positions Kat had pointed out.
Kat couldn't take the treetop route, so she would be forced to moving in the bushes. Kat quickly went over the plan again in her head, trying to find any and all possible holes in it. She couldn't find any. The only possible danger was if another mob joined the fight, which seems to happen quite often, actually. Well, if another mob joins, it most likely wouldn't be another Treant. They aren't that mobile, if another one was to join, then they would've had to be fairly close to the target Treant, and Kat had faith in Kuro's eyesight. If there was another one nearby, Kuro would've seen it by now.
Actually, thinking back, Kuro was the one in the most danger here. Kat wouldn't be seen as a threat by the Treants, since she was just a Cleric who wasn't going to be doing much fighting. Against human players, she would probably be targeted first, but these aren't humans. These are just mobs, and thankfully, they didn't seem to attain a massive gain in intelligence like the NPCs did. The only real time where Kat would be in danger is if Kuro falls off, since in that scenario Kat would have to function as the bait. She quickly eyed her skill list. "Martyr Spear" was going to see a lot of use, wasn't it?
Kat was broken out of her pre-battle planning by Kuro, who had sent Kat a message. He had reached his sniping spot and was waiting on Kat.
Kat quickly opened up her menu and began to type. Almost there. Start setting up your skills. Kuro simply sent a smiley-face emoticon as a reply. Classy.
One Kat had arrived at the scene, she quickly looked around the clearing. Good, everything seemed good. She quickly sent Kuro a chat invite, which he accepted. "Everything seems normal." she said, double checking the clearing. "I can see you. Can you see me? I'm in the bushes to the left of the Treant, directly below your 3rd position." Kuro quickly ushered an affirmative. "Good. If the Treant turns to me at any point, I'll need you to fire like a maniac. It doesn't matter if you hit at that point; as long as the Treant is focused on you, we're golden. If you at any point need healing, jump to the 3rd tree. I'll be able to heal you there. Have you set up yet?" Another affirmative. Kat nodded to herself. "Alright then. On your go."

After a while he got a "call invite" from Kat so the assassin accepted it. She assured him that everything seems to be ok. Then she said she can see him and described where she is to Kuro and asked for the conformation that he can see her. Kuro looked the direction Kat described. "Yes I can." She then ordered him that if the treant threatens her, Kuro needs to shoot it like a "maniac" "Heh." (That wont be a problem.) She also said that if he'd need healing at any point he should jump to his 3rd position so she could reach him with her healing spells and also asked if he has set up yet. "Understood and yes I have." When she got the conformation she "ordered the attack".
(Ok, so I guess "resin" is the... "blood" of this thing, so if I want it to.. possibly poison itself It has to get quite deep. Not sure if it'll help though) He aimed near-ish the treant's treetop, but still thick enough for the bolt to not shoot through. The bolt hit precisely where Kuro was aiming. (It is so much easier with this crossbow!) The plant got mad and imdietly started shooting in the direction from which the bolt came from. (I even poisoned him... even though it's not that much helpful. Well what will ya do.) Meanwhile Kuro already realoaded and now was again ready to take a shot. Now he aimed more in the middle of the tree and after firing his shot and jumping to the 2nd sniping tree, taking a hit from the {Seed Cannon}, he got an idea. "Kat, if you anything with what we could light things on fire I'd appriciate it." Kuro fired another bolt at the now more and more angry represanative of "mother-nature-fighting-back army". "Heh." Unfortunately the tree was faster this time and hit Kuro with the {Sap Shot}. "God fu*king dammit." (Means I am staying here for another shot.) He fired 'nother 2 shots at the plant, this time succesfuly doging the tree's projectiles. After the "slow-down" effect has worn off he shot his last shot and jumped onto the 3rd tree. When he was "safe" from the wrath of the "salty" tree he asked Kat: "So do you have anything?" ____________________________________________________________ Battle status:

"Alright then. On your go."Kuro nodded and aimed at the Treant's... head? Treetop? Kat didn't know what to call it, and honestly she didn't care. They were in combat now. Thankfully, Kuro seemed to have gotten a lot better with a bow, since he managed to hit the Treant. Kat smirked as she saw the Treant's health continue to tick down. Poison. Nice. The Treant, probably pissed that it got shot in the face, started to shoot blindly at the tree where the bolt came from. That wasn't the tree that Kuro was on. 'Don't move, don't move, don't move...' Kat thought to herself. Thankfully, Kuro seemed to remember the plan, since once he was done reloading he fired off another bolt into the Treant, staying stationary.
The Treant roared at Kuro. Okay, now it definitely knew where he was. Quickly, he attempted to dash to the 2nd tree, however the Treant managed to hit him with Seed Cannon, dealing 14% damage. Okay. That was a fair amount of damage. Kuro quickly took cover behind the tree, and glanced at Kat, quickly yelling a question to Kat. After yelling it out, he fired another bolt at the Treant. Unfortunately, he got hit by the Sap Shot, slowing him down. Kuro swore, taking cover behind the trunk of the tree. He quickly spammed his crossbow, firing a couple more shots. Once the debuff had run out, he quickly jumped to the 3rd tree, causing Kat to quickly fire off a Healing Light.Turning to Kat, he repeated his question again: Did Kat have anything that could be used to set the Treant alight? Kat frowned.Sadly, she didn't. "You're on your own there." she muttered, glaring daggers into the Treant. Luckily, it was still aiming for Kuro, and the tree trunk was taking all of the hits. She quickly fired off another Healing Light, before looking at Kuro. "Okay then. Get ready to move on my signal. You're going to get hit at least once, so I'll cast Reactive Heal. You know how that skill works, right? Yeah? Good." She spared a glance at the Treant. "Jump in three." she said, holding up her hand and counting the seconds off on her fingers. "...Now! Go!" she yelled as she cast Reactive Heal, surrounding Kuro in a warm orange light.[Word Count: 389Tags: @kurosan --BATTLE--Party Status:Katarina - 100% 75%Kuro - 93% 80% (Note that this isn't counting Reactive Heal, since you haven't been hit yet) Enemy Status: Forest Treant - 81% 75%]

When Kat asured him that she has nothing to set the treant on fire Kuro was disapointed (Damn it! Well... that idea went up the window.) When he was mostly healed Kat sent him off again with the spell {Reactive Heal}. Kuro shot the plant mid-air and landed on the branch of the 2nd tree. Unfortunately the branch was not as "stiff" as it looked like and cracked when Kuro landed on it. "Sh*t!" Kuro fell only around 6 feet before he grabbed a different branch, stopping his fall, but that gave the treant his exact location and the oprutunity to shoot him. It used the {Seed Cannon} and hit kuro in the side. "Agh!" (That was a low blow you dipsh*t!) He quickly climbed on the side of the tree so he'd be shielded against treant's projectiles. What was kinda nice was the feeling of the {Reactive Heal} spell working. Afterwards he shot at the "dipsh*t" twice before moving on to the 1st tree. But this time he had again used {Death Stinger} and {Dimensional Shot} so the next shot came from his previous position. Giving Kuro a break. (This is a lil' bit harder than I thought it'd be, but it is still a lot of fun.) He grinned and the continued the same routine as last time. This time being careful and being hit only once again by the {Seed Cannon}, but only partialy as he was hit in one of his legs.
When he was back at the 3rd tree, he asked Katarina: "Am I right when I'm guessing, that you probably can't make a fire from just 2 sticks of wood? Hmm?" ____________________________________________________________ Battle status:

"...Now! Go!" Kat yelled as she cast Reactive Heal, covering Kuro in a warm orange light. He quickly jumped to the 2nd tree, prepared to fire off another shot, before... Kat blinked as she heard a sharp *crack*. It only took her a second to realise what had happened. She paled. "Oh..."Kuro swore as he saw the branch he had landed on crack. Luckily, he managed to grab another branch, but in the process he gave the Treant his exact location. Kuro grunted in pain as he was hit in the side with Seed Cannon. Luckily, it didn't do as much damage as it normally would've, since Reactive Heal healed him up to 74%. He dashed up the closest tree he could find and quickly took cover. Firing off his crossbow, Kuro hit the Treant a couple more times, bringing it down to 65%. That... wasn't a lot. Kuro had fired god knows how many bolts into that thing, and it's only taken 35% damage.
Kat winced as Kuro got hit in the shin by Seed Cannon again. He was down to 74%, and that was with Kat's heals. Plus, he'd only been hit three times so far. Kuro obviously noticed the trouble that he was in, because he dashed back over to the 3rd tree, or the Healing Tree as Kat has now dubbed it. Kat quickly launched a Healing Light at Kuro, counting off the cooldown timer in her head. Kuro turned to Kat, quickly asking her if he could make a fire out of two sticks of wood. Kat shook her head."Not a fire that could potentially be used as a weapon against the Treant." she said, firing off another Healing Light. "Campfire? Yeah. You're not gonna be making a torch with only a couple of sticks, and you're definitely not making fire bolts."
Kat sighed as she looked at the Treant's health and mana. "65% and 54%, huh?" she muttered under her breath. Kat quickly launched another Healing Light and a Reactive Heal at Kuro. "The strategy we've employed so far, as repetitive as it is, works wonders." she said. "It would probably be good if you saved that Reactive Heal for a bit. I'll make sure the projectiles don't hit you, just make sure that you get that aggro on you ASAP, understood?" Kat didn't wait for an answer; the projectiles flying past her head kind of made waiting for one seem like a very, very bad move. Kat started to charge up her mana, focusing on the Treant. "Alright... alright... Now!" she yelled as she released her skill, mana violently pouring out of her body in a wave and pushing back the Treant and it's projectiles. Kat quickly took cover behind the tree again, gasping for breath. Holy Rampage took a lot of energy out of her, but the effects were well worth it. She looked at the Treant. She needed to buy Kuro some more time! Kat started to gather some of her leftover mana, it floating in the air before her. Kat grinned. She wouldn't be able to use healing spells for a little bit after that display, but this wasn't a healing spell. The mana in the air quickly started to solidify, turning into a bright spear. With a flourish, Kat pointed at the Treant. "Martyr Spear." she said as the spear of light shot towards the Treant, piercing into it and knocking it back a little more. It didn't do an amazing amount of damage, in fact, it didn't do much at all, however it did buy Kuro a bit more time. Kat slumped against her tree, letting her mana regen and catching her breath.[Word Count: 617Tags: @kurosan --BATTLE--Party Status:Katarina - 100% 42%Kuro - 86% 61%Enemy Status:Forest Treant - 59% 54%]

Kat was alread sick of his idea, as she new it was impossible. She assured him for the last time (judging by the tone of her voice) that he is NOT making firebolts. "Yeah, but it was worth a shot." Kuro Looked at their enemy. (It's health is goin' down, slowly, but steadily.) After examining the situation Kat said that they should keep doing what they are doing, 'cause although it is slow, it is working very well. Kuro nodded in agreement. She told him to save his Reactive Heal as it could come in handy later. "Hmf." (Easier said than done.) She also told him to aggro the tree on himself IMIDIETLY. "Gonna try." After the conformaion she sent him off.
Kuro changed his position as soon as he heard the order. Kat used the {Martyr Spear} to momentarily aggro the treant and by that giving Kuro some time to poison one of his bolts using {Death Stinger}, but he was told to get the heat off her ass so once he was loaded he aimed and fired at the plant. So the bolt wouldn't feel lonely, Kuro shot another 2 as soon as possible then preparing a {Dimensional Shot} from his supposed next spot. When the pissed treant's shots went past Kuro quckly made a sound/vibrations like he would be jumping from onto his spot. As he suspected the treant started learning this pattern and if Kuro had really jumped he'd be hit by a sapling making him fall down, into a lot of pain. (Well you're about to have a lil' surprise.) Several seconds later Kuro shot the treant into the trunk again, but using the {Dimensional Shot}, it came from the other tree. (Now it must think it just missed me.) As Kuro thought, the treant started shooting at the tree he "should" be on, giving Kuro a clear shot. He used that, by aiming at a quite "thin" branch, but which had the trunk behind it. When he fired the bolt, it completely "chopped off" the branch and got stuck in the tree. The now furious treant started imidietly shooting the way the bolt came from, but Kuro was by that time on the tree that the treant thought he was few seconds ago. When in a good position, Kuro "repeated" the previous shot with the same result, but did not jump this time, which paid off again as the treant, fired few shots between his 2 spots after it's intial burst at Kuro's location. (You're a quick-learner.... but so am I.) Kuro grinned once again and fired another bolt from the other tree using {Dimensional Shot} so the bolt would come from the 2nd tree, (he is on the 1st one) to confuse the tree once more. He used this moment to reloaded and send a message to Kat. 'So, I think I am doing quite well at not being shot at. :P' Afterwards shooting the Treant from his location. He didn't even wait untill the bolt hit it's target and jumped onto the 2nd tree. (Now come at me you bugger!) He aimed the crossbow once again... *CRACK* ____________________________________________________________ Battle status:

Kat slumped against her tree, letting her mana regen and catching her breath. She smirked as she heard the Treant let out an inhuman cry of pain. Peeking out of her cover, Kat's smirk widened into a grin as she saw three more bolts sticking out of it and the monster's health slowly ticking down. Poison. Nice.
Kuro aimed his crossbow at the Treant again, muttering a skill name under his breath. As soon as he pulled the trigger of his crossbow, the bolt disappeared, reappearing at one of the other trees in the area. 'Oh, I see what you're doing...' Kat thought to herself as the Treant turned and fired at the tree. Kuro banged on one of the trees, tricking the Treant into thinking he had jumped from his "previous position", and fired another Dimensional Shot. Kuro kept this pattern going for a while, slowly but surely chipping down the Treant's health. Grinning, Kuro opened up his menu and started typing. Kat quickly opened her menu and navigated to "Messages". She paused as she read it.
...You've got to be kidding me.
Kat blanched as she finished reading it. That... that idiot! Here he was, fighting a Treant, and he was basically sending her texts? With emoticons?! Kuro was getting cocky, and if Kat knew anything, it was that cockiness gets you killed.
Her point was proven not a minute later when Kuro, directly after missing a shot, didn't bother looking at where he was going and jumped on a weak branch.
*crack*
Kuro yelled as he fell from his tree, landing on the forest floor. Out of cover. To make matters worse, the Treant heard (felt?) him hit the ground, and was currently about to fire at him. Kat's eyes widened. If she didn't get it focused on her, Kuro was most likely going to die. That wouldn't be the worst thing in the world, Kat did hate dying but hey, it wasn't permanent. 'But death isn't the real problem here.' she thought as she looked at his uncovered right ear. Somehow, for some reason, that ear didn't regenerate on res. What if his other body parts stopped regenerating as well? What if it got to the point where he was shot in the head, and upon respawn, still had a hole through his brain? Kat shuddered at the thought. She needed to do something.
Quickly gathering her mana, she let it solidify in the air, turning into her oh-so-beloved Martyr Spear. She pointed at the Treant, and let it fly.
Sadly, it turned out that she was a little too far away, since the spear flew directly past the Treant. It did get its attention, however, but only for a few fleeting moments. That wasn't good enough.
Kat grimaced as a plan of attack formed in her head. What she just thought was a really, really dumb plan. It was also their best shot at winning. "Why yes, Kuro, I do indeed enjoy movement..." she muttered to herself, grinning nervously. Oh well, there was no going back now. Quickly climbing up the tree near her, she hopped over to Kuro's position as fast as she could. Gathering her mana again, she let it form into her spear, however this time she didn't let it fly, instead grabbing it tightly. She sighed. She was so going to regret this choice of action."Death from Above!" she yelled as she jumped off of the tree, spear-first. The Treant let out an inhuman roar as her spear stabbed into it's back. Kat started to chuckle nervously as the Treant turned to face her, an angry expression on it's wooden face. "So... in hindsight, I can see that wasn't a great move-" *smack*
Kat groaned as she picked herself up off the grassy floor, holding her side in pain. "I so, SO regret this move!" she yelled to no one in particular. She glanced at the Treant. It was aiming at her. Kat stared daggers at the Treant, beginning to charge her mana in her body."Sorry mate, I'd love to fight you, but I have things to do and people to see and-" She felt the holy energy in her body start to burn, violently thrashing about. She turned around. "Kuro, MOVE!" she yelled as she released Holy Rampage, her mana flowing out of her like a wave, knocking the Treant backwards and giving her and Kuro enough time to move. Kat ran to the nearest cover she could see, dashing behind a tree stump large enough to protect her lithe body. She gasped for air as she looked at her party's status. Both her and Kuro seemed to be doing okay in terms of health, although both were running low on MP, Kat more so. She was more or less out for at least a little; Holy Rampage always took a lot out of her. She suspected it may just be her though, blaming it on her pre-adolescent avatar's body not being able to handle the untamed mana. She looked over at the Treant's health bar. 'Fourteen percent? Okay, Kuro should be able to handle that...' she thought. Kat then had the excellent idea of attempting to cheer him on. Unfortunately for Kuro, her idea of cheering someone on is to constantly make snide remarks. "You know, Kuro..." she started, a mischievous grin finding its way onto her tired face. "It's really quite sad that the Cleric had to come to your rescue. I mean, I'm not an offensive class, I don't even have a weapon on me, and yet I had to beat the Treant down for you." she chuckled. She didn't really mean it, of course... okay, maybe she did a little, but that wasn't the point. Kuro was a competitive person, and she was playing on that fact. Kuro was a smart guy, he probably knew it, but hey, the least he could do for her at this point was to be completely predictable and kill the Treant for her.
