When he started falling his only thought was: (F*CK!) He dropped his crossbow and tried to catch another branch but that cracked as well and he was now falling without any chance of stoppin' before ground level. When he hit the ground he could not breath for a second, so he gasped for breath as soon as possible. (How come that I am not being attacked yet?) When he looked at the enemy he got his answer: Kat attacked the treant, but was now having some problems, seeing that she was lying on the grass and the treant was facing her way. She made it obvious that, that she'd be a lot, a lot happier in a different situation thes she is in right now. Kuro quickly ran towards his crossbow that was lying few feet away from him and checked if it is working. "Feew.." (It's ok... and it didn't even fire the shot on impact!) Suddenly Kat yelled at him to move. When he looked at Kat she was glowing. Kuro imidietly realized that it is probably very stupid idea to stay in the open and quickly jumped behind some cover just in time as a magical wave, that knocked the treant near him, flew past him. "God damn!" He imidietly prepared {Dimensional Shot} on the spot where he was and moved to the other side by jumping quickly from one tree to another in the moment of confusion. When he looked at the treant again, it was at 8% health. (Oh that'll be easy, I think it'll take 4/5 shots and he's down.) When he was aiming at the treant again he then heard Kat starting a "regular conversation". He knew what will folow. *Sigh...*(I am not gonna hear the end of this...) He fired the shot and the treant, that started shooting and smashing where he used the 'Dimensional Shot' ability. She continued to mock him as she saved his life and she is a clerick. He jumped over the shot the treant from his spot and quickly reloaded. When he was realoaded, he jumped on top of the treant, shooting him mid-air. Kat pointed out she doesn't even have a weapon. He quickly jumped from the treant, before it could attack him, behind a tree on the other side than he just came from, reloading as soon as he was in cover. Then Kat finished her mocking by saying that, even through all those disadvantages, she still had to beat down the treant for him. Kuro ran out of cover charging towards the treant, shooting it in it's.... "face" making it scream in pain. Imidietly pulling one of his bolts from the quiver, he jumped, and with the impact, he stabbed the bolt into the tree, killing it. The treant then exploded into gold coins and "bubles". "You know, I hardly think you 'beat him down for me'..." He said as he was going towards Kat. "... I would've taken a few hits but I'd take cover afterwards. And I still had to finish him off. You might have made it easier, but in hindsight, if I had died, you'd be in more trouble than I." Before she could verbally attack him about his failure he added: "And I totally didn't fall, so you wouldn't feel.... useless. I knew you wanted some... 'movement'." He was evidently joking, but he was sure she got it. That didn't stop him from grinning and even if she could not see it over his scarf, he was sure she knew it. ____________________________________________________________ Battle status:

Kat grinned as she saw the Treant explode into gold and EXP. Kuro turned around to face Kat, walking towards her, saying that Kat hardly beat him down for him.
"You were pinned down and I impaled him with a spear." she informed happily, casting a few different healing spells. Kat swore that she saw Kuro's eyebrow twitch at that, but hey, she could always just be delirious from the mana surge. Kuro quickly pointed out that he would've just taken cover after taking a few hits, but, unfortunately for him, Kat had a response for that.
Kat laughed. "No. You would've taken a few hits and then died. That thing had beastly attack." She grinned as she saw Kuro's face. Okay, this was pretty childish, but she would not lose this argument dammit!
Kuro seemed to think the same thing, saying that he still had to finish it off.
"He had 14% health left, and I had 32% mana, I would've been able to finish him if I had to."
Kuro added that if he would've died, Kat would've been in a lot more trouble than if it was the other way around. Before Kat could add in another brutally honest remark, Kuro quickly added that he definitely meant to fall, that he knew that Kat wanted some.. "movement". The two were silent for a little while, before Kat started to laugh.
"Sure you did, Kuro." she said, smiling in a sickeningly sweet manner. "And I'm certain that you definitely anticipated that branch breaking as well." she finished happily, her smile slowly shifting to a grin.
Opening her menu, Kat eyed the clock in the upper-right hand corner. "You want to head home, or do you want to do something else tonight? It's 1:15 if you're wondering, god knows how we wasted an entire hour fighting a bloody Treant of all things. Either way, I've still got a lot of adrenaline in my system, so I'm probably not going to get to sleep if we part anyways." Kat paused. "Actually, I take that back. I might after all." she amended, grinning all the while. "I seem to have overtaxed my mana reserves. Curse this pre-adolescent body!" she said jokingly. "Don't worry, I'm gonna collapse or anything, I'm not that tired yet. I'm up for anything else you want to do tonight." Kat paused again. "Unless you want to go drinking. My alcohol tolerance has gone noticeably down since I became a 9-10 year old girl." she chuckled. "Gee, I wonder why!"
Kuro looked at her strangely. "I was in serious mode for about a whole hour, and we both almost died." she said cheerfully. "I have a lot of talking to get out of my system. So, yeah, anything else in particular you want to do?"
Yet another mischievous smirk graced her face as she quickly added something. "Oh, and Kuro?" she said, her voice laced with unsettling amounts of cheer. "I could've easily made it if you'd died. I had enough mana for an extra Holy Rampage if I needed it, and plus, if you died I could grab some of your potions which I know for a fact you have, hand one over please." Her smirk widened as she saw Kuro's expression. "When it comes to reading people and verbal battles, I always win." She winced. "Scratch that, almost always win. There's a few people I know IRL that could keep up with me, god help you if any of them somehow turn out to be in-game. Well, one of em is, but we don't talk about him. He's a bit of a dick. Anyway, I'm rambling, potion please?"

There was a moment of silence and then she started laughing. She pointed out the problem in his excuse, and that was the branch breaking. Ok, he didn't have any defence against that. (I definitely hate her smug smile right now.) She asked him if he wanted to go home, beacuse it was 1:15 already and then she started rumbling about what they could do and then something about her alcohol tolerance and stuff. When she saw his the look he was giving her, she stated that she was in her "serious mode" for quite a while now and that because they almost died she had a lot of stuff she wanted to "ventilate". After that she asked if he wanted to do something else. "Well, ehm.." Kat then unfortunatelly remembered another of Kuro's defences during their "fight" and explained why she would have survived if he has died, following it with a request, that he's give her he potion of healing. Kuro was surprised by this statement. (I have only one and we are not fighting anymore, so why should I give her one.) Then she pointed out the evident that nobody ever wins a verbal fight against her. She thought for a second and that corrected herself that almost nobody wins a verbal fight against her, pointing out one of those few people who can beat her is in game and that he's a bit of a dick. (I wont mind if he will at least know how to shut up.) After that she asked again for the potion. Kuro looked at her. "I have only 1 potion and we are no longer in a battle, so using a potion would be a waste and since you can heal yourself, I think it's only fair if I keep the one potion I have. Sorry if you think that's a dick thing to do, but it is logical." Before she could "shout" him to death he changed the subject. "About something to do: I don't mind going to a pub, but I will not join you with the drinking. I never liked the taste of alcohol and that hasn't changed and I don't think it will anytime soon." He looked around. "But first, I think we should leave this forest. Come on." With that he turned around and motioned Kat to folow him. When she cought up with him he remeberd, that he wanted to ask Kat about something. "Kat, you know how you were making remarks about my... momentary lack of words in my vocabulary?" After Kat nodded he continued. "Well after I tried to misserably defend myself, you were acting somewhat strange. I did not notice at first, but then it got stuck in my head, so if you'd care to explain it?" He saw as she started blushing "Ehm...?" (What the hell happened back there?!) Now he was really curious what happed or she thought happened. ____________________________________________________________

"Anyway, I'm rambling, potion please?"
Kuro shook his head and gave Kat a sour look. He only had one potion left, and pointed out that Kat could just heal herself-
"Huh?" Kat muttered, confused. Before she could explain that no, she couldn't heal herself, Kuro spoke up again, saying that he would be fine with going to a pub when they get back to Londinium, but he didn't drink, so...
"Alright then, that's one option crossed off." she remarked. Glaring at Kuro, she continued. "Also, Kuro, as I was TRYING to say before you cut me off; I can't heal myself. It's really odd when you think about it, but pointing my finger at myself and casting Healing Light doesn't heal me. Odd, I know, but I suppose we can count that as one thing that carried over from the game." she explained. "Well, it doesn't matter anyway. If you've only got one left, you can keep it. Only reason I wanted it was because we're still in a mob infested forest." she finished, stressing the end. "Which we should be leaving. Now."
If Kuro had a reaction to that, he didn't show it, telling Kat that they should probably leave the forest-
"That is literally what I just said!"
Kuro ignored her, muttering a quick "Come on" under his breath. With a sigh, Kat followed.
The two had been walking for a short while, and they finally made it to the edge of the Greatwoods. Kuro paused, and turned to Kat, asking her if she remembered the dreaded "movement" conversation. She nodded, a bit afraid of where the conversation was going. Kuro pointed out that he had seen Kat's reaction, and asked what it had been about.
Oh god, he asked what Kat thought he asked, didn't he?
Kat's face flushed a vibrant beet red, as she started stammering. "I-well, I... umm, well, you see-" she started nervously, before seemingly becoming very interested in her shoes, her eyes glued to the floor. Kuro stepped back, startled at the violent reaction
Kat continued to blush as she let out a nervous cough. 'Well, that's one way to push me back into the shy act...' she thought, laughing internally. 'Although, it's not really much of an act this time and- oh god he's still looking at me!'
"Kuro, please, just leave it be. Let it die. Okay? Okay. Okay? Okay." she muttered under her breath, repeating "okay" to herself a numerous amount of times.
Kuro just sat there, staring at Kat with wide eyes. He probably thought she was mad. ...He was probably right, but hey, that's not the point.
"Uh, okay, well, you see, umm..." she said, attempting to spit out her words. It didn't work. Eventually, she sighed and sat down, face getting redder by the second. Eventually, she took several deep breaths, and cleared her throat. "I'm a straight man in a female's body." she said calmly. Well, as calm as she could be, anyway, she was still somewhat flustered. "Let me repeat that. I'm a STRAIGHT MAN, in a FEMALE'S BODY. Now, one of my friends in this game, who is also a-to my knowledge at least-STRAIGHT MAN, starts talking to me more, opening himself up to me, and has, barring Sayha, barely any other female interaction, I use the term "female" loosely here, but yeah." It didn't seem physically possible, but somehow, Kat managed to blush even harder than before. "As soon as I joke about your fetishes-" Kuro just stood there. "-you rush to defend yourself, inadvertently sounding suspiciously like a guy trying to convince his friends that he doesn't have a crush." Kuro continued to just stand there, gears turning in his head. Kat sighed again, wondering how dense Kuro was. "...I'm a straight male in a female's body, you don't have much quote unquote 'female' interaction outside of me, and you sound like you're trying to hide a crush-do I really have to continue here!?" she yelled.
'God, please kill me. Strike me down, and break the cathedral.' she thought to herself, looking away from Kuro. "Please, god, PLEASE tell me I'm wrong..."

She was standind there for a while and then she beged him to not ask about it, acting really nervous reapating the word "okay" to herself. (What the hell happened to her?!) Kuro was starting to get a bit scared about her sanity. She started to explain nervously. Kuro was curious, but suddenly started feelnig kinda bad for her. "You kno..." Suddenly she "yelled" that she is a boy in a girl's avatar. That took Kuro by surprise. After there was no other reaction from Kuro she/he said that he was a STARIGHT man in a FEMALE'S body."Well a lot of people play the opposite gender in videogames. What are you gettin' at?" She was probably starting to think that he has to be joking. She continued to explain that he (Kuro) has barely any other "female" acquaintances then her/him and that he is to her/his knoledge a straight guy. (Wait, what is happening right now??) Kuro was more and more confused. She continued with her explanation, that when she made the joke about the fetishes Kuro was really quick to defend himself, like he was trying to hide a crush from her. (Wait, I did? Really?) After a moment of silence Kat just "blew up" yelling at him that she/he is the only "female" he knows and is acting friendly towards, and it looked like he was trying to hide a crush from her. Imidietly after that "explosion", she turned away from him mubling something for herself. Kuro finaly understood. "Ohh... wait you thought that I have a crush on you?!" Kuro didn't know how to react at first, but could see how that could scare a straight guy. He decided to enjoy this moment. "Well." He said enjoying every letter of that word. "Sorry to... 'dissapoint' you here, but you got the wrooooong picture here." He was grinning so much, he could be mistaken for a jester. "As much as I know you wish that that'd be true. The true story is I have no physical or any other interest in you or your body." After his sentence he could see a sign of relief on her/his face, but a sign of how "bored-of-his-shit-s/he-is" was seen there as well. (This is gonna hurt, but it was worth it.) He thought while still grinning as hell. _________________
When they arrived in London again, Kuro was again thinking about joining Noihara again. "Kat, do you think joining your guild would be... 'good for me'?" He still wasn't sure about it, but he enjoyed this evening and he'd like to do this more often, with breaks ofcourse, like he'd do this once or twice in a month. ____________________________________________________________

Kuro was silent for a while, Kat watching the gears turning in his head. Suddenly, he jumped, yelling out what Kat though, Kat flushing all the while. She let out a quick sigh of relief, taking his shock to mean she was wrong. Kuro grinned mischievously. Well, damn. She should've seen this much coming. She braced herself. Grinning all the while, Kuro pointed out that, while Kat might wish it was true, Kuro wasn't turned on by her or her body.
Kat grinned shyly at that. "Thank god for that. Considering I'm in a 10 year old's body, if you were turned on, well, I'd have to make some calls." she joked. Under normal circumstances, she'd come up with a scathing remark, but she decided to let Kuro off easy this one time. It was almost disappointing to her, she had the perfect comeback ready, but considering the circumstances she decided it was... too inappropriate. The two started to walk into Londinium, Kat somewhat happy that she was wrong for once.
The two were back in Londinium, right where they started. Kuro paused when they reached the bank of the river, turning to face Kat. Clearing his throat, he asked Kat if it was a good idea to join her guild.
Kat paused, beginning to think. Kuro was a massive loner, as she'd figured out from past experience, but he seemed fine working with a group when they were tasked with taking out Adolf. Plus, barring Klide and Keyala, Kuro knew all of the people in the guild. Obviously he was fine working with Kat and Dumah, and he seemed to like Alette, so it worked. Kuro seemed like he'd get along with Klide, and if he could put up with Kat's snark, he'd be able to put up with Keyala... actually, Kat couldn't see much of a problem here.
Kat nodded. "Well, first things first, it's Dumah's guild, not mine. Dumah's the leader." she said, stressing Dumah's name. Sure, Kuro already knew that, but she figured it wouldn't hurt reminding him anyway. "And, well, yes. I do think that joining the guild would be 'good' for you. We've only got five members at the moment, but knowing you, you'd probably take that as a pro to joining." She quickly flashed a grin at Kuro. "Plus, you already work well with three of us. You don't know Klide and Keyala, but you seem like you'd get along with Klide especially. Honestly, I can't see many problems arising from you joining, and you do need to break out of your shell a little bit. What better way to do that than joining Noihara?"

After a while of thinking Kat nodded mentionig that it is not her gulid, but Dumah's. Kuro sighed. "I know that. What I ment is: you are a part of the guild so when I am not in that guild I can refer to it as your guild, because it is not mine, like if you'd be from a certain town and I was from another and I was talking about your town and say: 'your town'." She looked at him in that "I-fu*king-got-it" face and then continued with agreeing to the idea of Kuro joining a guild. She mentioned that they only have 5 members, but that that is probably for the best, when asking Kuro to join. She grinned at him and he smiled back as she was right. (She knows me too well.) She then was convincing him that he already worked with 3 members of the guild and that he didn't know only 2 other members, Klide and Keyala. Kat also mentioned that he will probably get along with Klide very well. "Oh, that should be.. interesting. I've never met anyone who'd I like from the beggining... well, barring Dumah." When he finished Kat continued that she thinks joining a guild, is the best move for Kuro, that he needs to "break out of his shell" and the best way to do that is joining Noihara. Kuro looked at her with a "moking face". "I think I've done enough shell-breaking tonight for the entire month, but don't worry." He said before she could object anything. "I will be polite. ...Just don't expect me to be as open with them as I am with you." He smiled at her and continued walking towards the Log Inn. ____________________________________________________________

"You do need to break out of your shell a little bit. What better way to do that than joining Noihara?"
Kuro grinned, joking that he had done enough shell-breaking for the entire month, and that he'd "go easy" on the guild members. His grin softened into a genuine smile as he continued moving towards the Inn. Kat blinked. So... he's actually going to join, huh? She had to admit, she didn't really see that coming. Kuro was, well, Kuro. If you told her before tonight that Kuro would willingly join a guild, she would've said that you were out of your mind. In fact, if you told her before tonight that Kuro was actually physically and mentally able to say more than two sentences to someone, she would've thought you crazy. But Kat's opinion of Kuro had changed entirely. He was just as, okay, well, not "just as" but almost as snarky as Kat, and was pretty talkative on top of that. Huh. Go figure.
Kat quickly opened up her menu, sending a message to Dumah.
You may have a new recruit.
After sending her message, she started to run, slowing down as she reached Kuro. The two walked in silence for a while after that. Honestly, after the somewhat hectic night, the silence was almost comforting, and she was certain that Kuro appreciated it. She didn't want to say something and ruin the moment.
"So, do most of your strolls end with you killing something?" she snarked, grinning in that patented fashion of hers.
Sometimes, she couldn't help herself.
It didn't take that long before they reached the Inn. Kat quickly booked a room before walking back to Kuro. "Well, that was fun." she said, grinning tiredly. Her adrenaline rush had long since faded, and she was starting to feel the after-effects of the night's activities. She chuckled softly. "God, who've thought one lousy Treant would take that much outta me? I really need to figure out my mana problems..." she muttered to herself. Standing back up, she walked over to the bar.
A couple minutes later, Kat returned with two cups of brownish liquid. Kuro eyed the drinks suspiciously, causing Kat to chuckle. "Calm down, it's not beer; it's just tea." she explained, sipping a small amount. She didn't exactly know why, but it always seemed to make her sleep better at night, so she always made it a point to order it before she hit the hay. "It's not great, but it's something." Kuro continued to glare at the liquids. Kat sighed. "Come on, the guy at the counter is a Lander, do you really think he'd give me beer with this body?" she said, motioning at herself. She paused. "Never mind, don't answer that question."
Kuro eventually caved, and took a sip of the Chamomile Tea. Kat grinned. "There ya go!" she chuckled. The two drank for a little while after that, talking amongst themselves. Kat was busy mulling over the events of the night and Kuro's... Kuro-ness. Compared to the guy she met when they first entered the game, he was a completely different person, but honestly, she didn't care that much. She had found someone who was willing to drink the somewhat "meh" tea with her. She just sat there in silence for a while.
It was 3:00 AM by the time Kuro had left, and Kat was tired as all hell. Sighing, she left the bill on the bar counter as she walked over to her room, flopping on her bed. And to think, she started the day bored out of her skull...
She sighed as she realised that nothing she did tomorrow was going to compare to the fun of this night. Well, whatever. It didn't matter at the moment anyways. Kat just closed her eyes, and let sleep take her...
