The girl sat on a sand dune, looking lazily at the divining rod in her hand. What was she supposed to do with this, anyways? What benefit was there to having this in her custody, if she didn't know how to use it? Royah began to very quickly question the validity of even being in this place at the current time, especially since she had no idea what to even do right now. She spun the divining rod around, looking at it from all directions, wondering what mysteries it might hold, were she to be able to actually use it. She grunted, her face turning slightly more sour toward the object. She might as well be out in one of the nearby fields, swinging her nodachi at one of the slimes just outside of town. That would be likely more beneficial to her.
Yet here she was, with a stick that didn't seem to do much of anything. She stood up, looking at it some more, wondering once again if it even did anything. She started to swing it back and forth, hoping to find some kind of a reaction. As much as she was hoping for something to happen, nothing really did. All that ended up happening was a swishing sound being made that didn't feel all that good to even do. Usually, using some kind of a stick and swinging it around would have been fun, right? Not this one. This stick was carefully designed to take away fun, or something like that. Royah wasn't even sure what she was doing here at this moment, but she still stuck with it. For now, anyways. If she found this all to be one big heap of time wasting, she'd go ballistic.
She eventually decided that she would try walking around with it, using it somewhat like a metal detector, like those guys on TV who used to walk around and find buried treasure on the beaches. Something like that. Maybe that's how it worked? Spinning the divining rod around in her hand, she began to sweep the crystal-like thing at the top around toward the ground, looking for some kind of a reaction. She wasn't hoping for anything in particular, but it was something to look around for, at least. Something might happen. Nothing might happen. She had no idea. But it sure as heck beat jus tsitting in one spot, wondering what this thing even does. She decided it would be worth a try, since there wasn't much else to do, since she wasn't told how to use this thing at all. As such, Royah continued to scour the beachfront with her stick-shaped metal detector.
