"This is probably the weirdest thing I've ever experienced to date right now..." Varis spoke to himself as he looked down at his right hand where he can see that he has his katana that doesn't have any distinct features to really call it unique of any sort to its' appearance. Here was, standing out in the midst of a forest region in the Windsor Greatwood where he found to be a good hunting ground or at least it looked to be the case at any rate. The fact that he was in a game was still a bit bizarre to his mind, but for the moment he brushes it off as right now he figured that he might as well get to know the very basics of this game. Which is otherwise known as fighting in combat wise against what he is guessing are two Dull Green Slime that were kind of bunched up together for some odd reason. Earlier he had a look at his skills and saw that there a few he could use in a situation like this.
Seemingly as he is acting faster than the slimes are considering that he acted a bit sudden on his move. While he was moving, he went ahead to initiate the Aura Saber skill as he swings his katana around his body in a faint aura, and when he was close enough he brought the weapon down hard upon the slime. Or rather he tried at any rate for he was a few inches off from striking his targets. Luckily he was able to at least harm one of the slimes due to the AOE effect of the adjacent factor. But at this moment all he managed to accomplish was that he made an enemy of this slime and the other one too. The one that got hit by the shockwave from Varis's attack reacted first by slapping its gooey body against Varis's body that dealt some damage while the second one that is unharmed for the moment went around and goes to attack Varis as well. However it seems that hit from the first slime got Varis up on his game as he actually leapt to the left side of the second slime's attack. Making the attack miss altogether.
The second slime that had just missed its attack goes for a follow up by trying to sweep sideways at Varis, however it seems he is more than prepared on the attack as he had jumped back with a back flip to add momentum to carry him for about another five feet away from the slime equaling up to ten feet of a gap. The injured slime slithers forward to try to attack him at close range, but like the second one it missed too as Varis ducked almost as if he was about to run through track with one hand barely pressing his fingers along the surface of the soil and his sword arm held out a bit. Then Varis made his move by slicing his katana horizontally at the already injured slime dealing small bits of damage to it, making his right hand come up to his left shoulder and his blade stops a couple inched from his neck. Finally Varis kicked off into a dash that zips past the sliced up slime towards the one who hasn't been touched yet; where he quickly swung his blade to cleave into the slime's semi liquid body, spilling the dull green liquid out from the wound.
Varis would quickly took this moment to leap over the slime while performing a front flip with a twist so that when he lands on the other side he would still be facing the slime. He tried to slash at the slime while he was flipping but he winds up missing instead because of its semi liquid body practically moving in a blob that it is while seemingly to be mold its wound together. When he lands on the ground he tries to swing his katana in a downward arc only to cut into the dirt for the slime had dodged to the side. Which the slime closest to him now lashed out with its dull green whip like arm and smacked against Varis's left shoulder. As for the one that is ten feet away from these two, it slithers its way around Varis in a circle almost as if the slime was assessing his movements. Then it suddenly slithered intensely fast towards Varis's right flank. However Varis managed to wait at the last second to barrel roll forward to avoid the attack that was coming for him before he spun around to face them with one knee on the ground.
After taking a deep breath and seeing that his health wasn't looking all that great for he was below half by now. Varis initiates Aura Saber once again since by now it had completed its cool down; by swinging his katana around his body in a faint aura while he was standing up and advancing towards the Slimes, which both of them also made their advance towards him as well. Only to get a taste of his blade as it crashed down onto one of the two slimes before the aura kicked in and struck the second one too. Almost as one they both hit zero on their health and they shattered like glass of data fragments before the shards dissipate into nothing. After letting out a sigh to relieve his battle ready mind, he felt like he could get used to this. Maybe it was the weight of this weapon that was in his hand, but it felt right to him some how. For now after sustaining that much damage he spends the next few minutes staying in that spot without causing anymore attacks against the slimes that's near him so that his health could regenerate due to him being outside of combat. But it is a slow process as he quickly finds out for himself.

Varis had caught his breath long before his health bar finally hit the full health mark which is a bit of a relief to him not because of the fact that he has full health but because he can now comfortably move out of this area of slime. Honestly it kind of stinks as in smell wise when one sits around in one spot with the slime lingering about. Its no wonder that other creatures avoid to hang around them for long. However it might be his lucky day for he comes across an unknown creature. Well correction its a boar, that much he knows for sure, and he can see that its name is Young Pittered Boar. He's guessing that its another monster that beginners such as himself can fight up against to gain anything from it. It doesn't seem to be very aggressive for it looked up at him once then just resumed to eating the grass. What's more is that it is alone too. Making this his perfect target; though to be honest he kind of doesn't want to kill the poor thing for its not even threatening him.
Raising his sword above his head, the boar was just minding its own business when all of the sudden Varis brought the katana down in an downward arc and cuts deep into the boar's spine dealing some heavy damage where half of its health bar is almost gone in one fell swoop. Then again he almost scored a critical too, but now this boar is not only hurt it is also very angry where it turns into an enemy. It wasn't anything personal to the boar that Varis had against, it was the simple fact that he needed the experience and just like every MMO that he's known there is going to be times where he has to grind in order to level up when need be. If it was at any other notion he would've just let the boar alone. However then again he's probably not the only one who's done this either.
Varis had attempted to swing his katana back at the boar that was already almost dead in his eyes, however now that the boar is more alert it had hopped over to the side with its hooves landing on the soil of the forest. It glared its eyes angrily at Varis before it swung its tusks at Varis. Which of course buries into his kidney are of his body that deals quite a bit of damage to him which was a surprise to him. But he guessed that appearance can be deceiving at times such as these. Out of reaction to the damage, Varis had taken a couple steps back while holding area where he got gored by the tusk of the boar's.
The boar however wasn't going to let Varis off that easily as it quickly charged faster than Varis had predicted and it rammed its tusks into his stomach now. Luckily it wasn't as bad as last time, but it was close enough considering that he is now borderline of being half below his own health bar. Varis out of reaction to the damage once again recovers as he now has full grasp of how this boar works. By flipping his katana into a reverse grip, Varis sliced into the boar's hide that dealt damage enough to bring the boar below half of its health now. Actually make it three quarters of its health taken out of the picture and one would get the picture of how badly hurt this boar really is.
Varis would take his katana in its reverse grip still, meaning that he has the blade facing 180 degrees going up along his arm kind of way. Then Varis would bring his katana down where the tip of his blade would pierce into the boar's skull and actually through the bottom of its jaw. Due to this being a game there wasn't much of blood other than red glowing marks where Varis had struck the boar that faded away over time. It seemed that this was the final blow because the boar's health dropped blank before it shattered into data fragments like glass that floated up in the into nothingness. "Ow... I know that this game makes you go through these kind of things, but I did not expect to have a tusk shoved up in my stomach." Saying this to himself as he was rubbing his stomach as the mark where the boar had gored him went away. This time he got hurt more so than he did with those two slimes put together. Then again he had better luck with those things than he did with this boar. Heck he thought that he could read this boar easily as it pretty much attacked one way and its with the tusks. But it was the abilities the boar possessed that caught him off guard. However now that he has seen and experienced the pain this boar can do; he already came up with a strategy that would counter against the boar's attacks in the future purpose.

After he had rested for a few more minutes, Varis gets up one more time as it was getting dark fairly quickly considering that he's maybe only been out here for about two to three hours now. Seeing as how dark it was getting and how quickly it was approaching, he came to the conclusion that he'll make one more fight with a monster and then he would call it for the night. He doesn't know what these monsters are like in the dark, and he has seen plenty of games where depending on the time of the day that the monsters are either weak or insanely strong. He certainly doesn't want to find that out the hard way either. So he was treading through the forest once again with his katana in his hand, which he took into note of the durability of his weapon and seeing how it is now. "Well now... I guess i'll need to salvage this and see if I can forge something better later on. Looks like you about had it." Yes he is indeed speaking to his sword almost as if it could talk back, but that's just him being himself. However as he said this suddenly he felt something struck against his leg, like something with two fangs pierced into his leg. Not really making much of a sound since he can't feel pain in the game, but he does immediately look down at his leg and sees two small and round glowing red marks on his left calf. Hissing at him threateningly was a Garden Snake that finally came up, which he thought was odd for he should've seen the health bar and name before it got close to him. However his unspoken question was answered as it moved back and he sees it for himself that its name and health bar disappears from sight except for the snake itself.
The snake lashed out again at lightning fast speed and sank its fangs that's more likely venomous into his left calf again despite Varis's efforts of moving out of the way. Despite of its venomous bite, it doesn't appear that Varis has been poisoned yet even after suffering two bites from it now. Now that it was his turn to act, he goes to slash at the snake only slash at air for it ducked its head back just in time as the steel had gone past its head. It may have not poisoned him yet, but it certainly affected his way of fighting a bit. It wasn't exactly small per say, it was actually a medium sized like viper.
The hissing viper lashed out again with its venomous fangs, however this time it missed due to Varis timing it right on dodging to the right a bit making it miss. Which kind of gave Varis some kind of assurance that he could keep his distance and attack it with an... that gave him an idea actually. Varis leapt back about five feet away from the snake to where there was a roughly twelve foot gap between them. Then Varis would swing his katana at the snake and would unleash the Splitting Fang skill as a thin white projectile quickly zips across the ground and strikes home at the snake's body. Surprisingly this snake doesn't seem to have much health than Varis thought it would considering its venomous attacks as it's health bar went down fast. Not all the way to where it kills the snake, but it was close enough to say the least.
Varis took a deep breath as he swung his katana around his body in a faint aura, indicating that he was using Aura Saber, and while he was doing this the snake didn't waste any time to slither its almost unseen body over to his direction. When it was close enough, the snake lashed out in an attempt to strike at Varis with its fangs. However it seems to have hit directly against the flat of his blade that didn't deal any damage to him but neither did he dealt any damage to it. It didn't stop him from bringing his blade down onto the snake's body, but he does miss the snake's body entirely as when the snake struck the blade it kind of messed with the aim he had going. Making him miss the snake even with the small shockwave that emitted from the attack.
The snake lashed out once again and this time the snake managed to bite into his calf with its fangs. However it seemed not to have gotten very deep for it dealt very minimum damage and it still failed to poison Varis. Its not that Varis is resistant or even immune to poison, its just that the poison isn't kicking into his system yet. Finally, Varis took this moment as an opportunity where he slashed horizontally with the point down that he winds up severing the snake's head clean off from its body. Though it kind of left its head stuck against his calf where its fangs had partially bit into before the snake itself shattered into data fragments where it floats up into nothingness. "Okay that's enough of surprises for one day." He went ahead and get this out of his lungs to tell himself that he needs to get back to London city where he can sleep the night away.
