ELECTRICKERY
Eventide squelched afternoon's light and lit the heavens overhead aflame with fires infinitely fainéant and warm enough to offer any soul willing to cast an eye its way indefinite solacement. Certainly, many a man and beast alike roamed beneath the canvas, but one flux of both busied himself by bending over and plucking from the ground a single acorn. The body, stretching skyward perhaps a hair over four feet, stood erect once more. He was a werecat with blue fur clad in a heavy, yet shoddy armour.
A small portion of time had been set aside to tend to this undeniably mundane task. For what reason was anybody's guess. However, there was a young girl standing nearby. She immersed herself in a diffident air as she peeked around a towering evergreen. Her attention appeared tethered to the adventurer nearby and innocently, she continued to watch. The long, light-pink dress she wore invited tragedy by being out in a wilderness that threatened to begrime the humble garment. Perhaps the werecat was gathering something for her to save her attire the filth rummaging through the dirt would needlessly bestow upon it.
Indeed, that were the case. No more than a fleeting moment later did the feline being return to her with his furry hands extended, palms upturned to reveal a previous pile of acorns. He was issued a thank you, reserved but genuine, and after she took them into her position, she ran off. He watched her until the distance between them grew enough to suggest she was not about to stop and turn back. Afterwards, the shift in his attention and gestures he wove implied he was going through the menus only adventurers would be familiar with.
"See that, kittens?" he asked nobody. "Hardly anything for that one!"
