Apparently someone had seen her little... accident... with the rock. So, not only was her nose bruised but so was her pride. Whether it worked or not, the Sorceress often tried to maintain an independent persona, someone capable of taking care of herself, so she hated it when she made a fool of herself like this. It seemed, however, that the first witness to her misfortune was not interested in teasing her about smashing her face but was more concerned about her injury. Dorian, who had apparently caught up and was now beside her, spoke up. She turned to look at him, her face sinking into a bit of a pout. She nodded in response to his question, there was no use hiding it, really. He had clearly seen it. A bit unexpectedly, the Shaman reached up and placed his hand on her cheek, which she supposed was a bit less awkward than placing his palm over the middle of her face to cover her nose. Artemisia's green eyes widened slightly at his touch, taken off guard by the sudden contact. His hand was warm and gentle. Surprised, Artemisia stared dumbfounded up at him, a light blush forming on her cheeks. Blinking rapidly, she looked away quickly as he finished the spell up, feeling silly. He wasn't hitting on her, he was healing her, she told herself. She noticed that the ache in her face had subsided, as if she hadn't cracked it off the ice at all. The blonde's fox ears twitched at his next sentence. She didn't understand the tone behind his words. Had he misunderstood the relationship between her and her Guild leader? Granted, if she had her way with things, it wouldn't be a misunderstanding at all but they were only friends, at least partially due to her inability to be honest. Artemisia watched as Dorian disappeared into the distance and realized she had never thanked him for healing her. She would have to do that once she caught up again. A moment later, Hiro slid up beside her and rested his hand on her head again. She nodded when he asked if she was alright, smiling up at him. She appreciated, and was happy to see, that he was concerned about her well being. Having accepted her response, his hand moved down her arm, gripping her. She arched an eyebrow at the Monk's actions, wondering what he was up to. The fox tail got her answer soon enough when he pushed off, dragging her along. She was probably putting a little too much meaning to his actions but it really meant a lot to the girl that he was willing to bring her along like that, even if it was a bit rough. She, of course, would have preferred the hand holding method she had used but she wasn't going to complain about Hiro paying attention to her. Quite quickly the pair made their way along the last bit of the path, following after the ones that had finished before them. Oxford and Midori were still out there somewhere, as far as she knew, but hopefully they would show up soon. Artemisia felt the ground underneath her change from slick ice to soft snow. At the very least, she could walk on it without sliding all over the place. The Monk and Sorceress looked at each and both smiled at having completed the task at hand. At least, for now. Hiro accompanied his smile with a thumbs up in her direction. She grinned back at him, nodding her head in response, her overly large pig tails bouncing beside her. For the moment, at least, the group had a moment to rest. “ Oh, right,” She turned to Dorian. “ Thank you for your help back there, with that heal. I'll try and be more careful from here on,” She smiled apologetically. The fourth person there was a Guardian she didn't know and didn't exactly seem overly approachable, so she left her alone, standing beside her guild leader as they waited for the others to join them. -- Notes: No map needed, I think. First the shaman and then the monk and sorceress found their way into their crunchy snow coated hole in the wall. Which wasn't too far from the truth about their present location. Driving her rapier back into its sheath at her left hip she takes the moment to get a good look at her compatriots. They'd been ahead of her on their way into this puzzle and had gone different ways than she had.
Her eyes traveled the faces in the room. The Shaman was a younger man by appearance. She'd wager he was late teens in reality. Though it was completely possible for him to be a child trapped in the game as a young man. The monk was of a similar age bracket she'd wager. One had auburn hair the other brown. Both had green eyes of varying hues. It seemed in the game world rare eye colors weren't so rare. No matter really. Let the players be that which they could not be outside of the game.
Turning to take in the sorceress she lets herself take it all in. The little mage was diminutive. The lady knight of the stallion was no giantess herself but she was at least a head above the tiny spell weaver. Starting from the top the pint sized magician one would notice the flicking and swiveling little blonde fox ears surrounded by blonde tresses that ran near to the floor. Gaze at the silken strands of gold the female guardian remembered her own locks. Confined in braid and bun to keep them free of her face in might combat in maelstrom of death and gore. Her own mane of wheat reached just above her buttocks but the shimmering strands of the pint sized twin tail's hair would easily succeed in contacting the ground were they not styled in the manner they were.
Mere inches, but seemed like miles, from those strands of spun golden perfection was a pair of emerald pools. And while the boys they stood with both had green eyes hers seemed to go on forever and swallow up the mind of the cavalier maid. Shaking herself loos of the gems of green Mikoto's traveled south. A button nose. A small mouth with seemingly soft perky lips. How she wanted to taste those soft pink petals. Feel their rough soft texture press against her own. She softly bit her own lip and forced her eyes away to not seem like she'd been staring. What had been several moments felt like years. What was she to do? Such a situation.
A step. Just one. Then another and another. Before she knew it she stood directly in front of the delectably dainty damsel of incantations. Her left hand rose to cup the soft face of the fox eared maid in her rough leather glove. Carefully the knight guided the head of the fox tailed caster back slightly. A nervous lick of the baby pink lips of her own and Mikoto leaned in slowly. Closing her eyes at the last second their lips met in a soft embrace.
The embrace lasted but an instant and the maid of horse and armor broke away. She turned on her left boots heal and strode away from the small group of three. Her face showed no embarrassment. Years of training had beaten that from her. Inside the knight burned like fire lined her armor and soul. Such feelings. Such emotions. She'd never felt this way about anyone. She'd loved before but in different ways. She loved Bedwyr her trust noble steed. She loved her cat and the dog her family shared. She loved her family in a way she supposed but never before had she wanted to or had kissed another person. Mikoto's heart soared for the stars and moon of this world. She wanted to cry out. To sing her joy and let her feelings be heard. Mikoto, knight in class and upbringing, could not do such a thing though. Emotions were hidden away and locked behind many doors and visited only when necessary. Such things got in the way of protecting family lines and advancing a company.
Softly guardian of horse and blade took a deep breath and exhaled. This would spread she wagered. This would be around the small community of adventurers within the day. Embarrassment would be her companion for days and months to come. Of all the things she could have done she'd done one thing that would get stares and cross glances at her. As the tempest was forced down cavalier assessed the damage caused by a foolish lapse in judgement. It was a kiss. Not a deep passionate one like one saw in movies or read about but more so like a very familiar brushing of lips. Two girls kissing and being lovers had become more common now. It was surely less of a problem than the guardians initial thoughts had painted it to be. Perhaps this wouldn't be as bad as the panicked mind had made it out to be. There was comfort that none of them knew her family name and should they ever get out of this game that they would have no use for such a tidbit of info. yes there was that to take comfort in. Here she was no different. Another soul trapped in this realm.
Mikoto would remain a distance away for now. Right hand freed rapier from scabbard again as she stood out in front of the small group. Point position. First hit. Hold the enemies gaze while the rest hit them from the sides and rear or formed up beside and pressed forward with shield wall. Let them talk and react to the scene that had just played out before them. Let them talk. @sugarygiggles | 965 | this was fun to write. Everyone's watching, to see what you will do

The group stood there, having casual conversation and waiting patiently for the rest of the group to arrive before continuing on. Artemisia, too, was standing in the ankle deep snow, her attention turned back out into the maze they had just come from, waiting for the figures to come out of the fog. Every so often, a chill would go up her arms, causing her to run her hands along her skin. It really was quite cold in this cavern-type deal. She was about to question Dorian and Hiro on if either of the two of them had some winter gear for her to wear temporarily when one of her fox ears twitched, picking up the sound of crunching snow behind her. The blonde turned around, ready to step aside as she assumed the other woman present was either going to join their discussion, in which she would make room for her to do so, or was headed back out onto the ice, and she would allow her passage. Unfortunately for the unsuspecting Sorceress, the Guardian had neither of these things on her mind. What she was thinking, however, was something that no one could have ever predicted. She stopped directly in front of the petite blonde and looked at her intensely, as if she had a specific goal that simply had to be reached under any circumstances. Artemisia arched a brow questioningly at the stare, a look which only intensified in confusion when the other woman reached out and gently took her cheek in her hand, cradling her small face in her palm. The green eyed girl stared back, not entirely sure what was going on – did this woman have something very important to tell her? Was there something on her face that she had noticed? She didn't get the impression that she intended to attack her. The slightly taller woman tipped the fox tail's head back slightly and began to lean down, towards her. Artemisia's entire body stiffened as she understood... she knew this pose, she knew where this was headed. What she didn't understand was why. She didn't even know this girl, they hadn't even properly greeted each other or exchanged names. Before she had a chance to question or protest, she felt the soft brush of lips against her own. She couldn't help the confused blush which immediately burned across her cheeks. As quickly as she approached, she turned and walked off, without a single word to explain her actions. “ Wha...” Artemisia's eyes darted all around, searching for some sort of explanation as to what had just happened. Her face was on fire and her heart was racing, she was so confused. It seemed the others were just as shocked as she was. Artemisia's lifted her hand to her face and gently touched her lips with her pointer finger, recalling the warmth that had been there just a moment ago. She was quiet a moment, as she thought about it. This was the second time she had found her lips locked with another girl. She had never once questioned which gender her interest was in, it was always very obviously guys. But... why was she blushing so heavily? Was it just the surprise of the moment? The confusion? Her body didn't know how to react, it didn't seem like this woman was possessed by anything, was that just her way of greeting people? She hadn't even acknowledged the two guys standing beside her. As this thought crossed her mind, she looked up at her guild leader, Hiro, her green eyes shining with confusion, looking to him to explain just what had happened to her. Why was she feeling so flustered over a kiss from another girl? Didn't she like this guy standing right here? She needed to know. With this thought in mind, she swallowed, and stepped determinedly toward the Monk. Her hands were shaking ever so slightly and her face was brighter than a tomato. If her heart pounded any more than it was, it would certainly burst through her chest. He could probably hear it. Quite quickly, without much warning, Artemisia lifted herself up on her tip-toes, as he was quite taller, and did exactly what the Guardian had done to her, to him. Green eyes wide, as her body and mind were too shocked to process the impoliteness of it, she pressed her lips against Hiro's firmly. She leaned against him, her right hand resting against his chest to help hold herself up, for only a moment before she stepped back a half step, looking up at him. Artemisia nodded to herself and smiled, her cheeks glowing pink. “ Thanks,” She said, which probably only served to confuse Hiro and any spectators more. But, to her, it made sense. When she compared how she felt when she kissed Cherry, and now this girl, versus how she felt when her lips touched to Hiro's, she knew. There was no question what-so-ever. The blushing and heart racing she felt with the two girls was simply due to the surprise of the encounter. When she touched him, it was like she was simultaneously melting and being struck by lightning. Whether he would one day accept or return her feelings, she didn't know, but at least she knew one thing... she was definitely straight, there was no questioning it. She wanted to confront the Guardian woman and explain to her that while she was flattered, she would never be able to return any feelings she may be having but, based on the look on Hiro's face, she thought she should probably stick around and deal with the aftermath of her suddenly stealing a kiss from him. Artemisia looked up at him nervously and waited. Maybe she should have thought through that plan just a little bit more. Hopefully he wouldn't be too mad at her... -- Notes: Making my poor character question her sexuality XD I'll have her get to Mikoto in my next post, I think, if we continue the thread for that long. Standing by the exit, it wasn't long before the Shaman spotted Hiro and Artemisia slide in after him, eventually crunching up against the snow that signalled they had completed the puzzle. With the ice floor behind them, they both seemed visibly excited and relieved to have finally gotten done with the gruelling process of sliding without control. Dorian wandered forward a few steps, the crunch of snow under his feet echoing slightly within the corridor they now found themselves in. "Looks like you guys made it! And without so much as a scratch," he mused, glancing over to the fox tail with a subtle, friendly and knowing wink. Hiro probably saw what had happened, but hell, a little humour wouldn't hurt anyone. Bowing his head towards them both, he made to walk past them and return to his post to wait for Midori and Oxford, who were still straggling behind.
Before he could leave the group, however, a familiar voice spoke out towards him, grabbing his attention; turning to Artemisia, he couldn't help but smile as she offered thanks for his earlier supply of healing. Shaking his head, he simply put the thumb of his right hand up - reminiscent of how Hiro had done so earlier - only to press it into the centre of his chest, as if pointing rather obviously at himself. "I am a healer, Artemisia. I saw a friend and a party member hurt, so I acted accordingly." He bowed his head, returning his hand down to clasp it together with his other behind his back. "Careful is good, but don't be afraid to make the necessary risks; I'll be here to get you back up onto your feet should the need arise."
With that brief conversation over, Dorian stepped away, leaving the other three Adventurers in the corridor in peace to converse as they wished. Crouching down by the edge between the snow and ice, the Shaman began scanning out into the darkness, looking out for any sign of Midori and Oxford approaching the exit. He hoped they weren't stuck out there somewhere; part of him wanted to call out a signal, like a game of Marco Polo, waiting for the others to respond accordingly. Shaking his head, he remained vigilant... That is, of course, until something of a scuffle behind him alerted him to strange happenings going on while his back was turned. Standing up properly, he rotated back around, only to stare wide-eyed at what he was witnessing.
He had just caught the last second or two of the... intimate embrace that Artemisia and the female Guardian had found themselves in. Their lips quite visibly together, he was unsure how to react; was he wrong in his earlier assumptions about Artemisia's interests in certain company? But alas, his new doubts were quelled somewhat at the confused expression on the Sorceress' face as Mikoto walked away, leaving her there dumbfounded and flustered up like a blonde-haired tomato. There was a rather long moment of silence after that, which none of them seemed to break, and Artemisia seemingly glanced up at the Monk; Dorian was about to mutter out something - exactly what he would say, he had no clue - only to bare witness to yet another show of intimacy.
Was there something in the ice here...? If there wasn't, the Shaman was dread to think of what could be possessing his fellow party members to act like this; right in front of him, Artemisia simply planted her own lip-lock upon the unsuspecting Monk. Was this petty revenge taken out on someone else for what she herself had been put through? Or was this the heat of the moment, lowering the inhibitions of the people involved? Dorian could not say; all he could see was a game of Chinese Whispers played with intimate actions instead of soft, murmured words. They did realise they were trapped within a puzzle infested cave, right? Likely with a nasty, destructive boss at the end? No doubt, if the boss could see what was happening, he was highly amused by the situation.
And yet, as quickly as it had occurred, the kiss was ended, and Artemisia and Hiro split apart, like two pieces of velcro they slipped away from one another. Dorian could only stare dumbfounded at the wall in between them, not wanting to make eye contact for fear he was next in the line of victims. Making a few glances at the pair of them, the Shaman noticed the continued shiver of cold that the fox tail was suffering, despite how warm her cheeks were presenting themselves. Lifting a hand up to rub at the back of his neck, the Shaman summed his courage back up, stepping forward slowly as he opened his inventory, grabbing out the winter jacket that came with his Neourban Threads vanity clothing. Opening it out, he silently moved up beside Artemisia, wrapping the jacket over her shoulders. "That... should help with the cold..."
With the few words he could think to say leaving his palette, he gave a respectful bow towards the two Adventurers, before once again stepping away and back to his post. Shaking his head to make sure this wasn't some odd hallucination caused by the cold and the ice and the dark, he crouched back down along the edge of the snow, his eyes solely trained on the puzzle they had just slid through, watching for movement or a sign that the others were approaching. Though this time, he now had a slight alertness to himself, keeping a vague sense of what was happening behind him in case someone attempted to approach him with ill-intentions. | | There once was guy named Oxford who was never very good on his feet. The ice continued to adorn the ground, shining with thick, slick sleet.
Resuming from where we left of last, Oxford shoved away from the wall. Deciding this time to stand on his shield, the action quickly became his downfall.
Down he fell, this man convered in steel (or whatever this stuff was that clothed him). Still continuing onward, the shield flew forward as well as Oxford, who began to look grim.
With a great big thud he crashed into the wall, his head now feeling quite sore. But the exit was far, and with a great big groan, he slid on the ground thrice more.

[attr="class","capsol"] ...What? No, really. What? What was going on. Why. How. Who. Where. What. The word 'What' kept appearing in his mind no matter how many times he tried to think of another thing. The multiple things that had just happened beforehand was enough to cause Hiro to question what he knew was reality or not. He blinked a few times, as the Sorceress backed away from him, saying her mentioning of thanks. Hiro had no idea how to react. What to react. Why he would even react. This was all a dream-like trance, right? Hiro recalled having fallen asleep beforehand, but from there, he couldn't remember anything. Where exactly were they? What was going on, to cause the girls to kiss, and then one to walk over and kiss him? Perhaps Hiro should take a moment and recollect all that was happening, just a few moments before. Maybe he would be able to make sense of it all, if he did that. Or, maybe it wouldn't. Who could tell? Not him, for sure, Hiro didn't know what to think anyways, so this wouldn't be all that much different from normal.
So, he recalled having brought Artemisia along with himself, when he finished the puzzle. That much was set in stone. Oxford and Midori were still in the process of completing the obstacle course, while Dorian and the other person here, whose name was never made public for whatever reason, were already done ahead of time. Hiro thought that the other person wound back and hit him in the gut, but thanks to them being such a low level, it didn't hurt at all. He remembered having been in some kind of a day-dream at the time, but his mind clicked back to reality. Anyways, he remembered having reached this patch of snow, and then suddenly, the other person thing walked up to Artemisia and planted a sensual kiss upon her lips. Now, Hiro, being the easy-going person he was, would have waited to see the reaction the Sorceress had given before making his own judgment. He would've given her something like a thumbs up, if the Sorceress was into girls. However, she moved over to him, not too long afterwards, and performed her own lip-matching game. Having recollected everything from that point, he found himself standing there, dumbfounded.
Hiro shook his head. A whole large amount of emotions began to fly through his mind and heart. Confusion, anger, suspicion, and a few others that made their way through his head, concerning the Fox-Tail just before him. However, he only felt anger over towards the other person in the room. They started this whole thing, so they were very clearly to blame for the occurrences at the moment. Either way, he needed to get one thing straight. Hiro let out a sigh to relax himself a bit, as his eyes opened up, and looked at the girl. "Artemisia, you mind explaining what all that was about?" His voice was blank, without feeling or life at all. He was trying to keep his emotions in check, since his anger was about to burst at the other person here. Though, it wouldn't do to lose his cool in front of everybody, and he mildly contemplating resenting this other person here. "I just need you to explain, just so I don't get the wrong idea. I'm already with someone, so you can probably understand my worries about that." He wanted to stay as calm as possible, despite wanting to blurt out angrily. Since he didn't know what the purpose of the action was, he couldn't just assume. The other person, though, Hiro was absolutely certain that their intent was impure, and wanted to just stir up trouble. However, Hiro remained silent for the moment, waiting for the eventual answer.

The red haired Monk seemed caught off guard, which was to be expected, by the sudden lip locking that had taken place. She wasn't sure which had surprised him more – Artemisia being kissed by Mikoto or her returning the 'favor' to him. Probably the latter, for sure. Certainly he would have been surprised to see a girl, which he most likely assumed to be straight, kiss another girl but having that same girls lips against his own was probably more than his mind had bargained for on this particular day. In the moments that Hiro seemed to be confused and silent, the Shaman took the chance to step up beside her and cover her shivering shoulders in a spare jacket he had. Artemisia smiled thankfully at him and quickly slipped her arms into the coat, pulling it tight around her petite body. It would take some time for the coat to fully warm her but she immediately appreciated the gesture. As the series of events seemed to finally register in Hiro's mind, she was surprised to see that he looked very angry. Her green eyes watched his face closely, seeing the different emotions battle for dominance on his face. Artemisia took a small step back, shrinking away slightly from the much taller man. She knew she shouldn't have done what she did but, this wasn't the Guild Leader she knew. There was no trace of a blush, not even the smallest hint of any sort of embarrassment or shock at what she had done. Her fox ears swiveled back and drooped slightly, her posture becoming more defensive. She had no idea what was going to happen. This person in front of her, someone she didn't even recognize right now, was scaring her. Hiro sighed and opened his eyes, looking directly at her. She met his gaze, her heart thumping in her chest. And then he spoke... his words pierced her heart, sending a jolt of shock through her entire body. She had never heard him sound so cold and emotionless. Her lips parted but no sound came out. Her eyes turned away, looking out into the ice maze they had just completed. She didn't even know what she was feeling right now but she knew she was in trouble. Should she just tell him the truth? How she felt? But his reaction... why was he so angry? She didn't understand at all. He spoke again when she failed to answer his question. Artemisia continued to stare into the fog of the maze, her entire body frozen after what she had just heard. He was with someone else. He said it so casually, too. Artemisia couldn't help but smile, although it was a sad smile. Of course... he didn't have any idea what she thought of him, after all. She was the only one confusing things. She closed her eyes, holding back the tears which threatened to slip and swallowed, pulling forth every ounce of strength she could find in herself. “ Huh? Oh sorry, thought I saw Oxford out there,” She suddenly turned around and looked up at Hiro with a short laugh, her expression under control and neutral. Her eyes, though, were distant and shining ever so slightly. This was so very hard for the Sorceress but she knew it was what she needed to do, what was best for him right now. “ Don't be so full of yourself,” She shook her head, smiling at him teasingly. “ It didn't mean anything, you were just the closest guy standing next to me,” She started to explain, her gaze slipping to the floor without her realizing. It was just too hard to look at him while she lied to his face, while her heart was crumbling. “ This girl over here suddenly kissed me and I felt all flustered about it, it was weird, y'know?” She continued explaining. She didn't even know what her face looked like anymore but at least he couldn't see her directly. The fingers on her right hand reached up subconsciously and began fiddling with one of her long pig tails, twisting and turning her hair anxiously. “ So I was just making sure I still preferred kissing guys and so I used you as a test subject,” She laughed, although anyone listening closely would have heard the uneven and unnatural tone to it. “ Turns out, I do prefer guys after all. It didn't mean anything other than that,” She trailed off and walked away from him. Everything seemed wrong, nothing made any sense. She just wanted to be alone right now but there was no where to go. " Sorry if I startled you," She laughed halfheartedly as she made her way to the side of the small hallway type area. She forced a yawn, pretending to stretch. “ I'm just going to rest for a bit, so let me know when the others catch up,” She placed her right hand against the wall and slowly sank down to her knees, feeling weak, while using the icy rock to support herself. “ Don't leave me behind, alright?” Her petite body sank into the cold snow, almost covering her lap as she shifted, letting her back press into the cold stone. She swished her fox tail up over herself, snuggling against it and the jacket she had been given. Without looking at anyone, she closed her eyes and let her head droop towards the floor, looking exhausted. Somehow, she was going to have to find a way to have a smile on her face until they got out of here, to look at him and not burst into tears. The thought of it seemed impossible... right now, she wasn't even sure she would be able to find the strength to stand again. She had to get herself together, who knew what was ahead. Sighing quietly, Artemisia shifted her posture again, pulling her knees to her chest and burying her face against her legs. Her blonde tail wrapped around her body, completely blocking her face from view. She couldn't stop the silent tears as she sat there in the snow, feeling completely broken and crushed. --- Notes: This thread sure has taken quite the turn, hasn't it? Left, down, right, up. Puzzle complete, see you again in a few months.
Okay, fine.
"You can't actually do anything to the floor, can you?" The girl tried to poke the floor with her sheathed blade enough that it might as well been a stab with the scabbard. The floor had no signs that anything had struck against it, whether from her hit just now or the movements of the other individuals a short while ahead. Given that its appearance was that of a very clear ice surface, there wasn't even any scratch marks on its surface. It was like a layer of thick and polished glass if anything. There was the question of how this room even came to existence with the rock in the center obviously having its own flaws in terms of structure. But what was the point of questioning RPG logic anyway? It was a bit pointless to really try to make something out of a dream. And even she was having a lot of trouble thinking that this was only a dream. What kind of lucid dream involved her knowing very much that she was in a dream without waking up a couple seconds after the realization? None of them, that's what. She always woke up the moment she realized something was unrealistic enough. If anything, this felt more like an instanced world. Another dimension that the Adventurers had ended up trapped in for the moment because they had decided to heed the rumors of a terrifying beast in the village.
Not that this was going to stop people from trying to act out of character and think they could do whatever they wanted because it was a dream, of course.
The dark-haired schoolgirl slid up toward the path where the rest of the group had already reached. She didn't know what the situation was, but there was an awkward atmosphere among some of the members, particularly the other two Apocrypha guild members. She didn't really need to know, anyway.
"Research in this room is done. Onward!"
Making her half-enthusiastic statement, the girl pointed her sheathed sword forward and walked up ahead down the corridor.

| | Two more moves and Ox would be out of this horrible, slippery cave. Just two more times of bumping his head then he can rant and rave.
With the first bump, his head was on fire. His skull slightly throbbed with pain. The repeated actions of bumping his head did not lessen it but instead sustained.
The second time, enough was enough. His shield mmade crunching sounds over the snow. Once he stood on solid ground he let the anger flow.
He stomped on the ground He punched a wall He wondered if he had any brains left at all.
He scooped up some snow, then put it on his head, Wishing that he could just go back to bed.
But the arduous task was over, the sliding was done. But apparently the others had dealt with a war, a war that concluded at the time he was done.
