Appearance A slightly shorter than the average person, Rail is often seen with his short yet well combed hair with a front fluff and a sight afternoon shadow around his chin. While not stocky or thin, he does try to keep up his physic up at tip top condition although you would never see a sic pack abs on him. He tend to adopt a very on and off attitude to life, and it is reflective in his stance and attitude. When he is in off mode, he will slouch and talk in a very lay back style but on the field or when people are depending on him, he will have a straight back and move with purpose. When he is not wearing his class armor, he likes to wear simple sleeveless shirts and long cargo pants. And for formal wear, he goes with a dark green military longcoat. | Personality Rail is the kind of person who would like to crack jokes but is a bit too shy to do so. Slightly on the introvert side, he is more outgoing with people he is more comfortable with. That being said, he does have his on and off mode switching as well. When he is in off mode, he is perceived as a lazy guy who wants to relax and barely get anything done. However even in this mode, he is very observant in his surroundings and in the end will still get things done. In his on mode, he becomes even more observant to his surroundings but adopts a more stricter outlook. Rail knows that this is mostly a game but is extremely afraid of dying. Which is why he takes his On Mode very seriously to avoid dying or letting people around his die. However, a lot of his outlook of the game is mostly from the perspective of a non gamer, so he does appear a bit naïve when it comes to gaming and the world he is in. Having groomed himself to serve his country before being stuck in the game, Rail follows the rule where to observe and react, since it’s the best sort of action to determine the best sort of response. That however has made him look a bit slow and sometimes would take a long while to respond. That being said he also knows that gut feelings shouldn’t be ignored, although he will always question himself if that was the right choice. Rail usually only trust people he knows he can trust his back too and thus relax around them but if it is a person he don’t get along with or is a new acquaintance, he tends to come of as a bit stiff. As mentioned, Rail is afraid of letting people around him die as he had already faced that once that was beyond his control. So he constantly trys to improve himself whenever possible. |
Extra
I found the rp by googleing it under Log Horizon rp forums.
The character is named after two things which are dear to my heart in a sense. The first being Kamen Rider and Super sentai/power ranger stuff. I'm a big fan of the two/three series which gave me the idea to name this character as RailRescue, the name of one of the Megazords from Power Rangers Lightspeed Rescue.
The other thing is the character's real name is the full name of my grandfather on my mothers side. I tend to do my best to honour him when i can even after he has passed away.
The character himself, is based on a medic which my grandfather was ironically was one as well before he retired and became a clinic doctor.

Biography
Rail was the second youngest child in a family with six children, having been borned in Singapore but moved around a lot such as to Malaysia, Austrailia Thailand and more recently Hong Kong before going back to Singapore where he was enlisted (by law) to serve a number of years in the Volunteer Army (also known as National Service). It was here where he had learned how to use a gun yet it was also here where he gain his fear of letting people die.
Despite being in the Volunteer Army, Rail was given the choice of which art of the Army he would join, in which he decided to join the Medic Core so that he could at least be some use. It was during this time, a fellow squad mate had been fooling around and had gotten himself shot during a live fire training exercise, the friend had been rushed to the hospital and it was Rail's duty to keep him alive before they arrived at the hospital in which he failed. This had created the fear he now carries and asked to be transferred to a different support division but was denied. He spent the next few years trying to avoid doing any serious medical exercises or duties and often opted for other duties such as staffing the kitchen or similar duties.
After he had completed his national obligation, he and a group of his Friends decided to spend their first free night gaming at a Cyber Cafe when they were introduced to Elder Tale. Rail gained some interest in the game but hesitated from participating as even simulated death caused him to flinch. Some of his friends become worried yet tired to help him as best as they could.
Now that he was free from his national service, he started taking a hospitality course and was learning to become a professional chef since it was something he knew how to do yet far away from any sort of medical professions. It was during this time that he was introduce to a therapist to help him control his flinching and fear. The Therapist in question decided it would help Rail a lot if he was exposed to death, even though it is simulated and reintroduced him to Elder Tale. She insisted that Rail give it a try, saying that it would help.
Sp on the day of the release of the twelfth expansion, Rail created his current self to start over and experience the game from back at level one when he suddenly found himself being in the game and being his newly created character RailRescue. Since the Catastrophe, Rail has been trying to keep to himself, since now he was stuck in a world where killing and being killed is apart of everyday life thus spending a lot of his time being a recluse and in denial.
However, it was thanks to a stranger who promptly beat him up and showed him that being in this world wouldn't be so bad (although it did take her a while to do so) that Rail decided to give "life" another shot. Slowly but surely he started taking steps to "live" again, by taking new step into the world of Elder Tale... although he sure has a ton of work ahead if him.

EQUIPMENT
Left Arm NA | Armor Starter - Wardenscale A basic set of Wardenscale made from cheap iron. They are not really too protective, but they are better than going naked—probably. You probably do want to replace these asap, when you think about it. Warden Armor is required for a Warden to use any skills that involve their armor. | Right Arm Starter - Rifle A crudely made two-handed starter weapon for adventurers. It is a single shot weapon and must be reloaded after every shot. |

CLASS SKILLS
Main Class: Warden
Arsenal Tool: Neuroscope Lens
Tier I Skill
Type- Special | Arsenal Tool | Chest
The Purity Core on the Warden Armor can be used as ameans of gathering extrasensory information. Using the armor's mana circuits to synchronize with the wearer's neural connections, the Warden is able to see an improved visual interface from their eyes. This interface works as though the Warden were looking through a scope, as it calculates the distance between the Warden and whatever their current target is. Afterward, the interface will also suggest firing trajectories in order to best hit the target. This interface also helps with adjusting shots to compensate for a target in motion. This skill has an animation time of 2 seconds to use. At the start of the Warden's post cycle, pay 1 Purity Charge or cancel this skill. Only one Arsenal Tool of the Chest Type can be active at a time.

Artillery: Disabling Shot
Tier I Skill
Type- Offensive
A skill that can either be fired from a Warden's ranged weapon or directly from the Warden's Purity Core when "Arsenal Tool: Neuroscope Lens" is active. The Warden fires a focused shot toward a target's limb, applying an effect corresponding to the body part targeted. If an enemy was hit by this ability and it targeted their legs (hind legs if the target is a quadruped), it will cause the target's movement speed to be reduced by 25% for the next 5 seconds. If an enemy was hit by this ability and it targeted their arms (front legs if the target is a quadruped), it will cause the target's attack speed to be reduced by 25% for the next 5 seconds. A successful hit from this attack deals ranged physical damage. This skill has a casting time of 2 seconds and a cooldown of 10 seconds. This cooldown increases to 20 seconds if cast from the Purity Core. A Warden may use 1/2 an Entropy Cartridge when activating this skill in order to increase the debuff duration to 10 seconds.

Heal
Tier I Skill
The most fundamental HP recovery magic of the healer classes and the root of all restorative skills. Although it grants HP restoration, it is known for its poor mana efficiency compared to other healing skills, barrier skills and reactive activation skills, thus putting this on low priority amongst healing skills. Beginners often look at healers based on how much HP this skill heals, causing some to be called second-rate or third-rate healers. That said, truly useless healers are out of the question, since most are at least competent in using restorative magic. When this skill is used, the caster is surrounded by a hazy warm light, and the chosen target is showered down with particles of light. This skill has a casting time of 2 seconds and no cooldown. If used by a non-healer class, the cooldown is 5 seconds.

Roleplay Class: Animal Trainer
Scout
Level 1 Skill
The Animal Trainer attempts to recruit a monster to their cause in order to create a temporary partner. This is often done by approaching the monster without startling or aggravating it. If performed successfully, a tamed monster will fight by the Trainer's side for a few minutes before control is lost and the monster returns to the environment. Certain situations might make this duration last longer or shorter; acts of kindness toward the tamed monster will make it stick around for longer, while excessive demand will make the Trainer quickly lose favor with the monster. Only one monster can be tamed at a time at the early levels.

Iron Stomach
