Crafter Control over Items

Out of consideration for any new players joining our Forum, I am planning on creating Starter Packs to hand out to completely new players that will include a collection of low level items that can help them along in their early adventures. These items will be extremely basic and are similar to Starter Weapons that they may pick, but are of better quality than the Spawn weapons. Obviously, this is all just for RP Flare and such.

I would like to impose some restrictions on the items, however. I'd like to keep them from being able to be reforged or traded and I would also like to essentially make them character locked. As a Crafter, is it possible for me to instate these types of limits on items that I make?

The main reason behind those restrictions is because these items are made specifically for a person who asks for them and no one else. When the items are useless, I expect the person to sell the items to the market for Gold so that it gives them some extra pocket change. It also nudges other new players to request a Starter Pack from my shop as well, rather than simply trade the items off. By restricting the Reforges, it keeps the point of the items in tact; these are Starter pieces of gear. Once they're used up, they're done.

It's an interesting idea and I don't have a solid answer off of the top of my head. There's no reason I can think of, other than personal gain on your end, that calls for special limitations, though. The only thing I could think of is if a new recipe was researched that was specifically a "starter set" and the description of that item stated it was untradeable/unupgradable. In that case, though, it could be made by any crafter who meets the requirements for it.

I was thinking, however, after the discussion regarding camps and camp fires (and how it's a relatively basic concept that Adventurers should have) that a starter kit of sorts may be something we should implement as a default in the character profiles, anyways but I hadn't had a chance to address this with the staff.

The stuff I am suggesting is entirely different than the Starter Kit you are thinking of, which sounds to me more like a survival kit. The kits from the Funeral Parlor will include Vanity Items for people to wear and decorate their items with as well as better Armor better Weapons than one would get at the beginning of the game. Essentially, the Funeral Parlor would provide a secondary "Starter Set" for players who may want to have a bit of flare to their characters, even in the beginning of their adventures.

Saber - I talked it over with the staff and at this time, we will not be allowing independent crafters to have their items be untradable/unreforgable. That status will remain reserved for rare/event type items.
