Background
Shahrazad El-Amin was born in Cairo, Egypt to a moderately well-off family. Her proud parents named their only daughter after the main character and storyteller from One Thousand and One Nights. The youngest child of a concert violinist and a music composition professor at Cairo University, Shahrazad grew up in a house full of music. It came as no surprise to her family when, at a young age, Shahrazad decided to follow in her parents’ footsteps.
She wanted nothing more than to sing in the Egyptian Opera House, to sing a song her father had written while her mother’s orchestra rang out through the halls.
It was a good dream, one her brothers encouraged as best as they could. They would have Shahrazad sit in front of the television, in front of their much-loved radio, or even in the dark spaces in the back of theaters, and learn songs from various things they would expect her to sing. Half the time she didn’t even know what she was saying as she belted out lyrics in Italian or English instead of her native Egyptian Arabic, but she still loved it.
Shahrazad was a good student, even if she focused more on musical pursuits than on her studies, and she managed to use her father’s tenure to secure herself a place at Cairo University.
It was her middle brother who posted a video of her singing the theme of a game he had been playing to the forums. The video took off in an unexpected way, and Shahrazad was offered a chance to record a single song for the developers of Elder Tale. This song was used in the “Empire of Dawn” raid of the fifth expansion to great acclaim, and a then eighteen year old Shahrazad found herself the subject of much online scrutiny.
The developers began sneaking in songs they had Shahrazad record in Cairo into various events and raids over the course of Elder Tale’s history. Her last work was to provide the main theme song for the <Unfounded Kingdom> menu, and during the course of correspondence, the developers realized that their longtime associate had never played the game. She had focused all of her time on becoming a legitimate opera singer, and treated her work on their soundtrack as if it was a side job. Under the strict guidance of her brother, Shahrazad purchased a computer and installed Elder Tale.
The developers, realizing that Shahrazad was the opposite of a gamer, took it upon themselves to create her account and character well in advance. Her account was emailed to her with strict instructions to log in when the new server opened so she could have the full experience of the game without her brother’s opinions tainting it.
Shahrazad was nothing if not loyal to what she considered her longest fans outside of her family, and did what she was asked. They had gone so far to make something wonderful, and her natural curiosity got the best of her.
Then came the Calamity, and everything changed.

Skill List
Bard Skills Elegant Act: Untempoed skill. A weapon skill that utilizes the harmonics to shroud the Bard, granting them a slight buff to their evasion abilities. The specific animation for this skill depends upon the type of weapon that is currently being wielded, but otherwise many would agree that the intricate motions of this attack resemble a dance. Additionally, during the animation time of Elegant Act, the Bard may simultaneously begin casting a skill with a cast time. As a result of this combination, the Bard minimizes their potential vulnerability when otherwise casting their song magic. The animation time of this skill is 3 seconds and its cooldown is 15 seconds. Battle Tempo effect: While in Andante/Adagio and an Allegro skill is used during Elegant Act's effect, the current Battle Tempo is not changed. While in Allegro/Presto and an Andante skill is used during Elegant Act's effect, the current Battle Tempo is not changed. Meditation Nocturne: Untempoed Sustained Song skill. Cancels the effect of any other Sustained Song skills used by the Bard. A relaxing melody that gradually regenerates MP for all nearby party members (except the Bard) as it is maintained. This restoration is moreso apparent outside of battle, but it might come of practical use in the middle of a grueling raid. When in effect, the surface of a targeted character's skin appears to glow with a light blue tint. This skill has a startup casting time of 2 seconds and an indefinite duration so long as the Bard's MP is maintained. While active, this skill reduces the user's DPS by 10% and drains their MP gradually as it is active. This skill has a cooldown time of 2 seconds after it is canceled at any time. Battle Tempo's effects are suspended while this skill is active. Maestro Echo: Allegro skill. A skill that targets a single ally and attenuates the flow of mana generating from their body. For 30 seconds, every time the ally performs an offensive magic skill, the Bard will generate a magical sphere that resembles a bubble with a musical note inside it. Echo Spheres can be sent toward a target to explode and deal nonelemental damage. Each time this skill is activated, there is a guitar-like SE and a shining effect. This skill has a casting time of 2 seconds and a cooldown of 50 seconds. Battle Tempo effect: While in Allegro, this skill has a cooldown of 40 seconds. While in Presto, this skill has a cooldown of 30 seconds. Level 4 Skill Level 7 Skill Level 10 Skill Level 13 Skill Level 16 Skill Level 19 Skill Level 22 Skill Level 25 Skill Level 28 Skill Level 31 Skill | Idol Skills Showtime!: The Idol raises their arm in the air and causes a spotlight to shine upon the target. This spotlight starts at 2 meters above the target's height and stretches down to cover their body within its radius. When Showtime! is in effect and used in a battle, any characters standing underneath the spotlight will have their aggro temporarily increased. Enemies that do not rely on vision to detect targets are unaffected by this skill. If it is used on a crafter in a crafting thread (cannot be a speed craft), the light serves as inspirational support and can be applied as a Production Bonus, increasing the final level of the craft by 1. This bonus can only be applied once per thread per character. Items cannot have their levels increased past Level 90 by this effect. If it is used in any other context, this skill can serve as a temporary light source. The spotlight is stationary and does not move, so it is fairly simple for an enemy to escape from attention. Showtime! has a casting time of 5 seconds, a maximum range of 5 meters, a duration of 30 seconds, and a cooldown time of 60 seconds. Level 11 Skill Level 21 Skill Level 31 Skill Level 41 Skill Level 51 Skill Level 61 Skill Level 71 Skill | Brewer Skills Detox: When your occupation is all about alcohol, you can't let things like hangovers slow you down! This skill can be toggled, allowing brewers to become immune to status debuffs caused by drinks and potions. They also passively recover from accuracy reductions and Mind and Weakness status effects twice as quickly.
