Because when all is lost and your heroes are dead... who will you turn to?
For the passed few days, the world of the Unfounded Kingdom has fallen into chaos after a massive natural disaster caused apocalyptic-level destruction across the server. The ground began to shake one evening as a massive earthquake ripped through the land, indiscriminately causing havoc and annihilating everything it affected. Crevices and cracks in the ground tore apart and opened like mouths, swallowing up chunks of forests, rivers, and small towns as the island found itself breaking into pieces from the strength of the earthquake. Adventurers and Landers alike found themselves caught in the wake, however, as the Landers fell to their deaths the Adventurers continued to reappear. Yet, they all found themselves returning to life far off from where they may have been. Due to the strength of the earthquake, the safety systems protecting the cities shattered and left those inside the Safe Zones open to the elements. Once the initial shell was broken, the massive earthquake caused the collapse of many buildings in the lead cities of the Avon, Lune, and Sarum regions. Included in these buildings were the cathedrals; the key respawn points for adventurers. One by one, these churches collapsed and the cities slowly tore apart as the ground ruptured. Players that were killed were automatically sent back to Londinium by the system. Those that survived the first few hours had no choice but to take the long way back to safety, and with the grounds around the cities no longer able to be trusted, moving was these people's only option.
On the way back, though, the players were not the only ones disturbed by the sudden events. Monsters and animals alike rampaged through the lands, fleeing from the sudden collapse of their homes. Powerful beasts spilled out of the dark caves and covered the fields, their minors taking control of the roads. Animals fled as far as possible to avoid being killed by the new threats and many turned on retreating Adventurers and Landers out of fear. Battles erupted across the Kingdom and Adventurers found themselves challenged by the hordes. Those who were too weak were killed and transported back to Londinium. After three nights of hard fighting and traveling with no rest, the final adventurers made it back to Londinium from the outer areas. No Landers returned with them, all having been killed or abandoned along the way.
The world went silent for two nights but the survivors of the earthquake found themselves trapped inside of the protective walls of Londinium. Monsters filled the outer areas, following the traces of blood and fear in the air. Lower ranking beasts, minions, and even raid bosses all gathered around the outskirts. The once silent city Guardians and Lander Guards took up positions around the walls, working in unison to keep any curious monsters at bay while the Adventurers inside the city recovered. Landers were few in number and majority were injured, leaving the brunt of the work on the Adventurers. It would all be for naught. Even though Londinium's barrier had been held up, there was quite a bit of destruction in the city and the surrounding area. Included in this damage was the water supply. The earthquake caused the water table to break and a nearby cemetery beyond the walls was swallowed up. After the first night in the city, Players found the water to be poisoned, leaving them with nothing to drink. Food stores were low and much of it was lost. Anarchy came quickly.
Guardians continued their purpose of keeping Players from attacking each other physically, but mental attacks were common and kidnapping was even more so, with women being the main targets. Unfortunately, this would not last long. On the sixth day, as the moon began to rise, the ground shook. With a loud bang, Londinium's barrier collapsed. The moon's color turned a dark shade of red in response and silence fell. The monsters outside the city stopped moving, awoke from their slumber, and stared towards the high walls of the once impenetrable fortress.
"May God have mercy..." A Priest whispered under his breath in the center of the city's largest gathering site.
From beyond the walls, Adventurers and Landers could hear the cries filled with thirst. The thirst for their blood. The air grew heavy and a moment later, the skies erupted with magic and sounds of combat. Monsters poured into the city through the main gates, dove down from the skies, and flooded through underground passageways. The cathedral exploded as a Raid Boss targeted it with a meteor strike and the central gathering area found itself under seige as dragons and wyverns dropped from the clouds. Thirteen Raid Bosses in total took the fight to the Adventurers, with nearly a legion of underlings pouring into the streets. Guardians held their own and attempted to protect who they could, but even they were brought down over time. A total of three hundred Guardians emerged from their secret base, and within the first hour of the seige a hundred had fallen. The Lander Guards counted one thousand, and only half of that remained.
With no Cathedral and no way out of the city, Players are now tasked to fight until the end.
Roleplay as you would like. There is chaos in the streets, you're going to die, and you're all stuck in Londinium. This is a thread for your own pleasure and is meant to provide closure for those that may want something to occur to their characters. This is a non-site canon thing and is purely for fun. After the reset and in the Pre-Reset RP board, these events will not have occurred. There are no rewards for this event and it is meant to give you something to do while the Reset is prepared, so just enjoy yourself.
