Klide awoke with a large yawn. He had gone to sleep late the night before, and yet, on this day, although he was up just moments before the sun, he did not feel tired. He looked around beneath him to see that the paths of Londinium were still quite, but the crisp air was filled with the sweet melodies of song birds as Klide climbed down from his resting place. He looked up at the fat old oak he had slept in the night before and stretched as he did so. The lush leaves swayed in a light morning breeze and Klide turned to watch the sun climb over the horizon. The sky slowly turned from a red and orange mix to a lighter yellow and gold shade, it began to brighten the surrounding area. The taller buildings behind Klide slowly began to bathe in the warm light, as did the taller of the trees around him.
After about 15, most of Klide's surroundings were fully illuminated. He looked around once more and saw no movement still. He decided to check the quest board for something he could do in a few hours time, once more of the world was awake. He began a slow walk to the board, not far from the park in which he had slept, and after about two minutes, he could see it. Aside from the board however, there was also a man there, not what Klide had expected to see so early in the day. He walked over quietly, and noticed the man fumbling with something. The man himself was a human by the looks of things, and he was quite thin. His eyes had dark bags beneath them and he looked rather upset. Klide walked up behind him and placed a hand on his shoulder. "Are you alright sir?" He asked, the concern showing quite clearly in his tone. "No, unfortunately I am not alright, I need a few of those blasted adventurers to help me with a problem I've been having, but I don't know where to put this form." He said without turning around to look at the mysterious stranger who had come to him. "Look at that board, there isn't much room for another request on there without covering one of the others up." He said, clearly quite frustrated.
Klide smiled to himself and then stepped forward a bit. "Then perhaps we can just rearrange this mess a bit, what do you say Mr... I'm sorry, I didn't catch your name." The farmer lightened up a bit at the offer of assistance. "Oh! Mr.Daniels, but please, call me Emrys. And what should I call you lad?" Klide began to reorganize the various requests on the board as he responded. "Just Klide is fine Mr.Emrys. Don't worry about your request, I should be done making room for it in just a few seconds, and then you need not worry about it covering other requests. This board was due for a reordering anyway, seeing as how there's so much empty space, and the requests are so inefficiently added." After a few more moments of moving around the requests, Klide perked up and turned to the man. "There we go, now there's plenty of room. Go ahead and put your request up."
After the request was up, the man turned to Klide and shook his hand warmly. "Tell me lad, is there anything I can do for you to repay this favor? I'd likely have stood here like a fool for the rest of the morning had you not come along, and then my fields would have been even more destroyed by those pesky rabbits." "Oh?" Klide became instantly more attentive when he heard the option to fight a few opponents. Not that he hadn't been attentive before, but he'd just not had many opportunities thus far with combat, and where as he though he had the basics down, he very much doubted that he was ready for anything much bigger than the rabbits at this time, but who knows, maybe he was just underselling himself, and lacked the confidence he needed.
"Mr. Emrys, I'm afraid I may have deceived you a bit... Not outright, but rather by omitting an important detail about myself. You asked if there was anything you could do to thank me for helping you, then perhaps you could forgive me for hiding the truth. You see... I am an Adventurer. I understand that a lot of the People of this Land are not fond of me and my fellows, and Rightly so with how poor our first impression was on this world. Perhaps this quest could be a little step towards redemption Sir? You could give me a chance to prove myself by helping with your rabbit problem? I can wait here for a few more adventurers and then come to you with them to take out the rabbits. You said you would need a few adventurers, so I assume there are quite a few of these vermin in your fields. I could wait for one or two more and then come find you from the address on the request." Klide kept his head down while he spoke. He wanted to seem as humble as he could, as he genuinely did feel bad for deceiving the man the way he had.
Finally, after what felt like an eternity of silence, the farmer signed and spoke. "I... Fine, you can wait and bring some of the other ones if there are any others who choose to accept my request. Try to come within the next hour, so I don't have to deal with the rabbits on my own." The man walked away slowly, looking even more exhausted than he had before. Klide sat down on a bench not far from the quest board. One after the other, a few Adventurers started to show up and look at the board. The first few took their pick of quest and left, though they didn't seem to look in the area of the board where Emrys had posted his request. Finally, an Adventurer came along who seemed to be looking in the area the rabbit request had been posted. Klide began to stand up in case she really was interest. "Hello miss, is that the Rabbit Grinding quest you're looking at?"
