So the planned seemed to work better than the girl could have predicted. After she made her tiny lion plush animal, which was currently perched on her stall to be featured prominently for all to see, the young aspiring Bard/Dancer had been getting requests pouring in to make other items for them as well. Most of these were out of skill range however so she had to ask if they would prefer to be put on hold while she took care of lesser requests to raise her skill up higher. Today’s work would be to craft some simple Starter Gear to wear for adventurer’s wanting to wear something new.
Taking the materials that she would need out of her inventory of supplies Masami carefully laid them out as she got to work. First was first, she’d need a set of measurements to work from and her own would make for a good place to start from. Stretching out her tape she carefully measured various points on her body before scribbling them down on a piece of paper to set aside for later. This particular piece may not be a custom fit for her customer like the rest will be, but at the very least as a piece of gear it will be rest somewhere in the store to show others exactly what her work looks like, not to mention on the off-chance it does turn out well its already a perfect fit for her own body to use without a problem.
Taking a piece of leather the girl went to work stitching the pair of boots that would be completing the ensemble, the only item she’d be making in this case that wouldn’t be made of cloth. The boots though would be plenty since by the time they’d be done they’d come up to her mid-calf before coming to a stop. After all in the world of fashionable performances everyone loves a good set of legs and a dancer’s livelihood depends on being able to move freely and easily at all times. These were the things she was going for as she continued stitching together this set of boots.

With the boots finally finished Masami set the completed footwear off to the side behind her workstation and looked over her measurements once more. Scribbling a few notes down next to the numbers the tailor made a few drawings of how the finished clothing should hopefully look. Possibly use a shorter skirt in the design, possibly some kind of flowing fabric or something in the back to better emphasize ones movements to look more graceful. She spoke her ideas to herself as she quickly scribbled more drawings on her notepad. One thing she was certain of, since this was Starter Gear it wouldn’t get much defense out of it so might as well make it for another purpose other than taking hits for the wearer.
Finally deciding on a design Masami picked up her tool again and went to work designing the main body of the outfit. For the main body Masami began making the outfit of a single cut one-piece blouse kind of outfit with a low cut mini skirt. Looking over her design it was apparent she’d need to lower the cut on the boot as well so after applying the embroidered layer down the front of the blouse she went to work making a new pair of shoes that this time would only come up to her ankles instead. Stitching a quick pair of socks to go with it the boots she made earlier were decided to be left in the back, maybe it was possible to use those for some later project she had in mind down the line.
After finishing her corrections Masami went to work making a simple white hat to be worn on the persons head. It wasn’t anything complicated just white sailor cap with a navy blue trim around the head band and a pair of navy blue ribbons would dangle a short distance on either side of the head when it was finished.

With most of the outfit finished at this point Masami went over to her notepad one more time and checked her designs to see how things were progressing. Biting her lower lip she cringed a bit looking at the last part of the armor that needed to be crafted, the overcoat. Taking her tools in her hand once again Masami began work stitching the part of the coat that would extend down to the ankle level. Just like the overall theme for the rest of the clothing this part was to be done in a navy blue and wasn’t going to be particularly hard to do until she got to where it would connect to the hipline. Putting a stop to her work Masami leaned back on her ankles as she stood up. She’d need to ask one of the local metal workers for some metal fittings to provide a bit of armor to connect her pieces together. After what seemed to be an hour she finally found a nice metalworker willing to help out with material and even assisted in getting the plates fixed to the cloth and fastened to the blouse with a thin leather belt. With a deep breathed sigh Masami thanked the man and began putting together the small jacket portion that was going to be done in the same pure white as the hat. Adorning the end of each sleeve in a large navy blue cufflink she looked over the outfit once more to see how it turned out. Putting her sewing tools down and picking up some of the more fine tools she had the young tailor began working on some of the delicate design work to be done on the blouse portion and around the metal plates on the hip, making sure all the metal fittings were done in a gold trim or color before she set everything down at looked at the now completed work. finished reference:

Staring at the finished piece of equipment Masami couldn’t help but to smile as she placed her hands on her hips. Wiping her brow this had been the first item she had made that adventurers could wear and bring with them into combat. It made the young tailor feel good knowing that this would help the other players in some small fashion. It could still be improved but the question was what could be done to a finished piece of equipment to make it better? The solution finally dawned on the girl as she was staring at the newly crafted armor, the solution was to reforge it with a special enchantment, sadly this did mean altering her design and messing with it to get a new enchantment.
Returning to her design notebook Masami flipped quietly through the pages before turning around to face her finished design, notebook still in hand. Taking the fabric in her free hand the young tailor had an idea of what to reforge into this armor to fit the theme. Since it was supposed to be something for a magical girl perhaps an increase in the wearer’s elemental resistance was in order, an alternative choice was to increase spell strength somehow maybe raising intellect. Setting the notebook back down on her work table Masami took some of the left over silks and laid them out as she began using different colored dyes to be used for later in the process.
While waiting for the fabric to finish drying and taking on their new color hues Masami took her sewing tools in hand and carefully undid a few of the stitches in the fabric. After all part of this process required that she needed to break it back a little bit in order to add in the new. This was a very beautiful piece of clothing, but she was confident it would turn out for the best after it was over.

After finishing up opening up the clothing to a sufficient amount Masami reached behind her and grabbed a piece of red silk and carefully wove it underneath the surface of the existing fabric. Reaching back behind her again she grabbed a dark blue piece and wove it in on the opposite side of the clothing. This process was to carefully add layers of each element and embroider them into the clothing where they can add their effect with taking away from the overall appearance of the article. The purpose of putting some of them away was due to the nature of the element wheel and she didn’t want the elements imbued in the blouse to start working against each other and thus canceling any benefit they’d give the wearer.
It took quite a while but eventually Masami managed to get her various colored fabrics arranged neatly onto the new clothes and could now be sewn back up to make everything look better than new again. Closing in the gaps she made putting the extra pieces of fabric in the young tailor carefully replaced her stitch work, holding some of the pieces together with her fingers as she worked stitching it back up. Standing back up to admire her work again, a small glimmer caught her attention out of the corner of her eye. It was a small container filled with various gemstones, stones that the tailor felt could be used to further strengthen her craft against various spells that were destined to be hitting it before too long.
Taking a small handful of gems Masami would to carefully embroider them along the neckline and adding two of the blue gems, one on each cufflink to add more accents in addition to a practical defense flair. With the gems properly adorning the piece the tailor bard added a single larger yellow gemstone to the chest before setting her tools back on the table and resting her hands on her hips. Hopefully the extra work she put into her art would end up being helpful in improving its overall quality and usefulness in battle.
