Hiro sat behind his workbench in the Handy Wrench, only there was a slight difference in the place: There weren't mechanic items before him. Instead, there were Tailoring materials. Yes, yes, he had gone through a crafting change, in order to better suit the needs of his guild, as well as the playerbase of Elder Tale as a whole. There needed to be a new tailor in these parts: One whom the everyman could easily afford. This was going to be a very important decision on his part, and would lead to some very important changes for his partners in the raid-to-be. It wouldn't be long at all until the raid, so he needed to have his guild members ready to go as soon as physically possible. But, he wasn't really at the point where he could have them all go immediately yet, so he needed to work on the little things for the time being.
Today's request was from his own guild partner, and close friend, Midori. She had asked Hiro to make a set of Vanity clothing that resembles a normal Japanese School Uniform for girls. It was a simple design, one that Hiro knew all too well. It was a bit scary, to say the least, how well he knew it. It was even a bit creepy. But, Hiro being a Japanese guy was a bit of a dead giveaway to the fact that he would know pretty much how to make them. But, even still, he needed a guide. So, he had managed to find one on a database for the players. It seemed to be not a very popular object, which he found rather weird. Most English and American girls marveled the beauty of Japanese fashion, so he expected to see more of it. But, he was wrong. Whatever. He was used to being wrong when it came to most things, as this was how it was back in the other world. He was used to it mostly from his sister. But, before he went off into another random tangent that would make no sense in the long run, Hiro digressed.

He picked up the needle, and looked at the thread he was to use. He hoped that Midori wouldn't mind the condition in which the craft was going to be in in the end. He could trim it up and make it look better once it was all said and done, and hopefully she would approve of it. Then again, this wouldn't be a very hard craft to make, since it was a common design. Hiro was more than certain that Midori could pull it off, or use it in a sense that would be useful to her. That was all he was concerned about. He wanted the stuff that he made to be useful to the people he made it for in the end. That was his only real concern. But, if he did it all right, then he wouldn't need to worry about it at all! Done deal! So, without much further to do, he started to sew bits and pieces of cloth together.
This was a lot harder than he thought it would be, about ten minutes later. He grunted silently, as he pricked his finger again. The clothing was coming together, for sure, but it looked like complete and utter crap as it stood. He would definitely need to do some trimming and refining once it was all put together. The only real problem was the cloth, and the threading itself. He grunted a few more times, trying to put the thread through the cloth. It was alright material, but it was certainly far from the best. He would need to do something to it, so that it would fit on Midori better and more comfortably. As it was going right now, the materials were soft enough, as well as fit to her proportions. This was going to fit, for sure, but it was far from perfect right now. He needed to keep working at it, or else it wouldn't work at all. Painstakingly, he continued to work on the piece. He willed himself to get it right. He needed to. Besides, what would Midori say if he came up to her, showing her this utter piece of crap for a uniform?

At last, it was done! He held up the clothing, as if it were a newborn baby. It wasn't perfect yet, which is why he only needed to do the trimming on it, in order to finish it all up. He put it back onto the table, and started at it once again, but with careful precision, so as to keep it in a good form, or else he try to make it all over again. He really didn't want to do that, especially because he had such a hard time with it already. The scissors he used were rather good quality, and could cut things easily. He made sure to cut the loose ends and extra materials as needed, so the form would be good. On the inside, as an added bonus, he put in a thin layer of black fur, to keep Midori warmer, and make it more comfortable as a whole. Hiro was certain she'd love it.
Now, all that was left to do was call up Midori and tell her that it was done. He started to look over his friend list, before realizing that he should just bring it to her in person, instead of just having her come and get it. No no, instead, he'd hand deliver it. She'd probably not care either way, but he could also be there at the same time, in order to hear his first Tailoring customer's response. Whether it was good or bad, he would try and work harder the next time he made something. That being all done and good now, he contacted Midori and told her to wait where she was. Luckily enough, she was already in London, and not that far away from his workshop already. He got a message back from her, stood up, put the Vanity School Uniform in his inventory, and rushed out to meet up with her.

Next up: A bag. A satchel, to be more precise. This was meant solely for collecting items and having a larger inventory capacity. This kind of a thing didn't need to be big, or massive, or carry a lot of stuff. It was simply meant for the ease of carrying some extra equipment or items. Hiro wasn't all that concerned with what it was going to be carrying, so long as it did its damn job. With this in mind, he looked over his materials once again. He had the thread, the cloth-like material of which he needed to use, and a burning drive to make this small thing. He needed to rank up his tailoring skill as soon as possible, and what better way to do it than with a small craft such as this? Most MMO's gave you the freedom to do as you pleased to begin with, as well as the crafting freedom one would normally require. Elder Tale was no different.
He started off by simple putting the pieces together, in order to make the general frame as would be required by the bag. This would make things much easier on him in the long run, with a frame to build this around. This satchel was meant to be worn around the waist, as if it were some form of a belt. This would allow the user to carry extra supplies, like potions, in a more convenient location. Because how much simpler could it be to reach down a little bit, grab a potion, use it, and go on their way? It's right there, on your waist, on your side, wherever it is!

This was going along a bit better than his previous work, with Midori's Vanity Gear. The material was much easier for a novice like Hiro to handle, as well as it was a smaller object to create in the long run. Plus, this could go well with how things go in the raid that was coming up shortly. It wouldn't be that hard to have himself, along with the others in his group, carry extra supplies and make better use of their equipment while in the dungeon. This was going to be a difficult dungeon, as the group of five were going to be among the first to delve into the dungeon. This weighed Hiro down a bit, but he needed to make sure that everyone's armor was going to be up to the task in the long run. Not to mention their weapons, but he'd work on that a bit more when the time came for it.
As for right now, though, the bag had been finished. He started to make the final adjustments to the bag, trimming a few different parts of it, just to make sure it wouldn't get caught on anything while he wore it. This was, obviously, going to be for himself to use in the near future. This small black bag was going to help him carry things as he needed them. However, it also served another purpose: Now he can easily craft yet another part of the tailoring arsenal: Bags. Checkmark on that!

Next up on the list: Starter Equipment. This stuff is actually a bit harder than the Vanity Gear, but Hiro was almost certain that he could do just fine with it. He felt more experienced, more prepared for what was to become of his work, and exactly how it would help not only him, but everyone else who wore his armor. This was certainly going to take more work for him to perfect, but it would be well worth it in the long run. Being able to create such things would be the absolute best thing for him to do as a Tailor. It would also allow him to be able to craft a large quantities of these kinds of things, just for the hell of it. It would be super beneficial to him, as well as the others who were nearby him, and those he hoped to craft for in the future.
This starter equipment wasn't going to be very elaborate, however it was going to include rather important details. Such as an armor value. And maybe a... Actually, that was pretty much going to be it. Hiro wasn't really going to try and make it some elaborate bunch of cloth, since that's all it was anyways: A bunch of cloth. However, this request wasn't a request at all: it was more of a show of good faith. Since their last quest, Hiro had picked up a small notice that Ruemia, a Swashbuckler who he had met back when they worked making Golems (failure, that it was), had given Hiro the sense that she disliked him. Despite this, Hiro still wanted to show to her that he was willing to do something about her alleged dislike, and figured he'd go ahead and make her a set of armor. Maybe she'd accept it, or maybe she'd throw it right back into his face. He wasn't sure which of the two were going to happen, or if it was even one of those options. He'd find out when it happened, he thought, and continued right on working.

Now, the biggest difference between this, and, say, Vanity clothing, is that this required a hell of a lot more cloth. It wasn't going to be simple in the slightest, and he was more than certain of that. Since it was supposed to be a lot tougher than a normal pair of clothing, it required more substance, in order to actually be able to withstand a few different hits. It wasn't going to be the epitome of armor, in any way, shape, or form, but it could still be a powerful piece of equipment. However, since he wasn't able to reinforce it with almost anything quite yet, it would have to make due for what it was right now. But, he had another plan, before he was going to give this equipment to the girl. He wanted to make sure that this armor set was going to be as best as it could be for the woman, which meant that he had to do just one more thing after he created the armor. He was going to Reforge it, as well.
Now, while he hadn't even finished the armor yet, he still wanted the woman to be able to use it, regardless of what her current level is. He thought that she was level 4 as it was right now, and any form of armor above the starter crap that one starts out with. That load of horse crap could withstand Hiro's fist lightly tapping it, without taking an incredible amount of damage. At that time, when the Catastrophe occured, most of the new players had only the starter gear. It was rather painful to have such bad armor, but it was going to be an incredibly great thing to be able to make upgrades to such things. He snickered a bit, looking over at his old Starter Gear, and then it hit him: Why not just make something with higher armor than that, but keep the same design? He shook his head slowly, and realized that if he were going to make anything worthwhile, he needed to craft it himself. Meaning, it had to be a Hirosame-original. He put down the needle and thread for a moment, and looked up. Maybe he'd go on to make some sort of a fashion line in this game. Probably not, though, since he wouldn't really be able to do that himself. He just shrugged it off, and continued working.

With the needle and thread back in his hands, he continued working on the project. He let his mind narrow down to what he was going to be making, as well as shut out all outside interruptions. The noises from outside, the people walking down the roads, chatting and conversing, disappeared from the man. The sounds of the water, gently gracing the shore just outside the workshop, had vanished from his mind. The only thing he could hear was a soft tune playing inside his mind, which made him feel as though he were actually making something. The tune of a tinkerer was something that he much loved, and never really could get by without. He closed his eyes for a moment, and let the song go into his mind. He let it play, over and over, as he worked, never letting another sound into his head. And, eventually, he had finished his work.
He put the needle and thread down, and gazed upon his work. The finished product was something of beauty to him, as he smiled at his own work. The armor was strong, stylish, and it looked like it would be pretty fun to wear, for sure. It would glide smoothly with the wearer, and not hinder them in all their motions. However, it would still be sturdy enough to stop a few different types and styles of attacks. This grand piece of armor was Hiro's very first piece of armor, for sure, and he was proud to have made it himself. He sat back, looking at it, and started to message Ruemia. But, then he remembered what else he needed to do afterwards. He sat back up in his chair, and got right to work with reforging the armor, into something even greater.

Hiro was busy at work, making adjustments here and there. The cloth itself was fine. The armor it had was good, as well, but it just needed something more. Something to give it more of an effect on its wearer. Something that would bring out more of the best in its user. And, since Ruemia was a Swashbuckler, which relied on speed, Hiro would increase this equipment's Agility score. This would accentuate the female's ability to move freely, and without having to hold herself back. She would move fluently, and never give the enemy an edge. Her motions would be flawless, and dance-like. She would be the ultimate killing machine. Hiro prayed for the souls of all the monsters she were going to encounter soon. She would give them no space, no time to react, even. Her motions would be that of a powerful goddess, delivering death to those who deserved it. Hiro shuddered for a moment, before focusing in on his work once again. He needed to get this done, and as soon as possible.
But, he never really figured one thing out, until now. Swashbucklers can use up to Chain armor. He looked up for a minute, and thought about just how stupid he was for that. His eye twitched a bit, as he looked back down to the equipment he had forged. This was made for women. The woman he intended it for wasn't even able to wear this. So, instead of wasting it entirely, he figured that he'd just go ahead and make it into men's armor. He'd use it for himself. He didn't really care what or who it was for, so long as someone used it. But, this meant that he would need to do a lot of extra work on it, just to make it work for his build and being. He started to add on more cloth to it, and would then fit it to his own proportions. This would take some time to do, but at least it gave him something more to write about, in the end.

The needle Hiro had picked up to use for this job, what with all the tailoring, was still as good as the day he had bought it. The thread could be upgraded a bit, but that would all come with time. For now, though, he needed to finish up this small job, and then move on to something different. His next project was probably going to be something along the lines of Claws, which a Monk like him could use, as well as a few other classes. It wouldn't be a class-exclusive weapon, but he would love it if Monks had more to just themselves. Sure, they could deal full damage with just their fists, but he wanted something else. Something that only the physically strongest, in this world, to be able to do or use. Something to set that one class apart from all the rest, in the way of a weapon. That was his ultimate goal, but for now, he needed to focus on what he was working on already. This armor was going to be his, soon enough, and he needed it to be just as good as he could make it.
That being said, he finished up with adding the extra cloth to it. Since this was already cloth armor, Hiro would be able to use it without any problems in the nearest future. But, since the raid demanded something more than just some normal armor. It demanded magical equipment, that would add on to a specific stat or skill. It needed to be something strong, as well as effective in what it would do. However, as it stood right now, Hiro would need more practice at this kind of stuff, if he was going to make actually effective armor and such. He needed to get the nitty gritty out of the way, first, and actually get good at making this stuff. But, for now, he would focus on making what he could. Later on, when he got better at this, he would make greater equipment. He would make the best equipment for his group to use in the raid, and was excited for it.

Hiro stitched in a few more things, and then put the needle and thread down, heading outside into the crafting allies. He needed to learn how to enchant tailored items. It wasn't going to be something as simple as just putting a sigil on it, he was more than certain of that fact. Instead, it was going to require some special tailoring material, or something like that. He roamed around the streets, trying to see what he could find, but to no avail. It seemed like people just put the enhancement right into the equipment. Just like that. No special material required: It was just asked by the system if they would like to have a special stat or something placed onto it. His eyebrow raised at this, but he went back to the workshop, to give it a try himself. He wasn't super optimistic about it, and thought that it probably wouldn't work at all. It would probably just be something that only certain tailors could do, and since he had transferred over to tailor from mechanic, it wouldn't be that simple.
However, as soon as he got there, lo and behold, it was literally just that simple. He was prompted to give it a name, which he put on hold for now. The other things that he could do with it, though, allowed him to dictate its color, size, shape, and enhancement. So, since he, himself, was going to use it in the nearby future, it would make sense to give it an agility stat, since he was classified as an evasive tank. So, he put on one extra point to Agility into the craft. He leaned back for just a moment, looking over the material, and nodded to himself a bit. This was one of his most difficult crafts yet, but it was a good feeling to have it all done already. He sat back in his chair, realizing just what time it was. He could probably get one more thing done today, and then call it a night.

Luckily enough for Hiro's next craft, the rain was starting to come down. It was a really good thing, too, since his last thing to do was going to be a Weatherproof Cloak. The whole purpose of this craft wasn't just for the added elemental resistance it provided, but also the aesthetic purposes it fulfilled. It was going to be a black cloak, of course, that would go over Hiro's armor and such, to give him more of a badass feel. Since this was going to be his final work for the night, before reaching Tailoring level 10, it would be great if he could test out his newest creation almost immediately. However, he wouldn't rush the project, since this needed to include a hood or something with it. He needed to make sure that it would be able to withstand the elements, and that required a special kind of fabric, one only known to this game. Without much further waiting, Hiro pulled out the materials, and got right to work, once again.
The materials were light. His needle and thread pierced the cloth easily, and guided its way through the fabrics easily. Following Hiro's steady hand, the thread began to sew together what would be his last creation for the night. He wasn't feeling rather tired, per se, but he didn't mind getting some sleep. It'd been a long day of crafting for him, but he was more than certainly proud of what he had done thus far. But, it wasn't going to end here. All the hard work he had put into this day was going to help everyone in their little raid group tomorrow, when he could easily craft the armor they needed. It was going to be difficult, yes, to be a team of mostly cloth-wearing people, but it was still going to give them a bit more of an edge. Monsters don't usually think like humans do. That was their first advantage. What was going to be their next advantage was going to be their armor, and the fact that they have armor.

Hiro wasn't ready to nod off yet, and he knew it. He needed to keep his eyes open, and his mind focused on the project. This wasn't going to take more than an hour more, but he needed to keep working at it, or else he'll miss the rain. Thunder sounded in the distance, and Hiro heard the running of people outside, shouting that a bit of rain was coming. Children were running through the streets, laughing, playing on their way back to their homes, while adventurers made their way to the local inns, taverns, and pubs. Hiro, however, was content with working at the pace he was going at. His mind was set to a certain goal, and once that happened, no matter what it was, Hiro wouldn't let himself stop until it was finished. This is just the way that he was normally, and he couldn't let something as silly as tiredness get in the way. Not yet, anyways.
It was about this time that Hiro had begun to lace into the fabric that special cloth. This cloth would allow him to stay dry in the rain, and yet breathe when the sun started to beat down on him with this on. It was going to be black, yes, but he didn't mind a little extra heat. This was going a lot better than he had expected, because it looked as if the special material melted right into the cloth. He stopped for a moment, and smiled, before getting right back to work on it. This was rather cool, he thought, as he continued. The cloak was just about done, save for two or three little spots that needed touching up. With those done, the cloak was completed. Instead of sitting back and letting himself look at it, he put the rest of the items he had crafted into his inventory, equipped the cloak, and went outside to test it. He needed to know whether or not it was going to work, so he would have something to work on when the morning came. If it worked, awesome. If not, then he would fix it in the morning, after it had time to dry out.

With the cloak fluttering a little bit behind him, Hiro started to walk down the street, and started to climb up the nearby stairwells. He wanted to get up to the top of the buildings, where the rain was most certain to hit. He could see the flashes of lightning now, as the thunder bellowed very shortly after. The storm was about to hit London, as he took a quick look across the city. It was beautiful. The waves were rather calm, and the flickering lights of London filled Hiro's eyes with beauty. He smiled widely, before looking back up to the sky. Just as he did this, a small bit of rain hit his forehead, and he put the hood over his head. This was it, the test for his cloak. He hoped that it would go well! Then again, if the special material went right into the cloth like that, maybe it was a sign of the cloak accepting the material, and used it as a finishing touch of sorts. Hiro shrugged this off, and just let the rain fall.
Just as Hiro had hoped, the rain wasn't getting through, and his body remained dry. The cloak was an absolute success. He grinned, as he started to climb down from the buildings. He walked through the streets, with the hood up, still blocking the extra water from coming in. Victory was his, for sure. He made his way to a nearby tavern, and rented a room for the night. He hung the cloak up, and looked at it. Then, he looked into his inventory, to observe the items he had made that day. It was a great thing to behold, seeing as he could do so much in such a small amount of time. This made him happy, and it would make countless others happy, as well. Once his body laid down onto the bed, Hiro let his mind relax, and drift off to sleep. He did a lot of good work today, and he knew it. This was going to be the first of his many tailoring-filled days. He was ready for it, though. He knew that he was. And soon, the rest of the world would be ready, too.
