[attr="class","tempo"] [attr="class","appbox1"] Standing at around 5'1", Amber sports a mix of sturdy and slim when it comes to her body's build, not striking a particularly imposing stature with her generic profile. Her short, sandy-blonde hair is very nearly always kept a mess, seemingly only the barest of care provided for it. Her face is slightly heart-shaped, soft cheeks and wide, curious dull green eyes help complete first glance impressions for passers by. Her stance is typically seen upright and reasonably stout for her height, if just a bit hunched forward from many hours bent over desks and various projects. It's a common thing for others to witness her make bodily motions to put emphasis on her mood or her speech. The flourishing gestures used to act out herself as a sort of character of her own, heedless of what passing viewers might think. When left idle, Amber's expression will often drop into a neutrality, likely lost in thought. This usually happens without her notice, it would seem... Her current appearance is very much based off of her real-life self, the character first being created to save time due to a lack of intent of playing on the European servers at the time. Differences would include her real-life counterpart having somewhat longer hair, a bit more muscle with a less-soft body build and perhaps looking a year older - according to Amber herself. | [attr="class","tempo"] [attr="class","appbox1"] Some might find Amber's personality a bit difficult to pin down at a glance. In the eyes of newcomers, she likely strikes a meek but friendly front. Close friends would be privy to a different side, one that's actually quite dogged and charged with cocksure self-assurance. Although many little details surface over time, a few traits tend to stand out more than others... Firstly, her tendency to act out herself as a character, roleplaying in live action. It began as a hobby back in the real world, later developing into a mix of habbitry and compulsion. Amber tends to come across as a bit theatrical, both in tongue and body language. When she speaks, it is surprisingly clear at almost any given time. Her words are spoken to their fullest and often drawn out long in slightly aired breaths. The result is a softly-spoken tone, almost as a less lyrical version of a dull lullaby and emotions melded into her sentences tend to be both more subtle yet drastically contrasting. Making gestures and using body language is commonplace for her as well, more-so than the average person. Strangers may also survey a wary distance behind her friendly face. To those who pick up on this very quickly, it can make her stand out as possibly disingenuous, although friends might argue something far different. Amber is a cautious individual, social interactions being no exceptions. She's typically open about her opinions on a given situation, but a mildly reserved air and limited trust extended to others are apparent with her on initial impressions. Since becoming trapped in the same game world as so many others, this has more to do with her situation than her actual self. Close allies would frequently take witness to her sense of reciprocity and keeping in line with her word to them. A surprisingly supportive individual towards her inner circles, friends usually find her trying to give back what she takes, along with an added bonus of some kind as unspoken appreciation and thanks. Shying away from conflict is an act that tends to throw new acquaintances off. Amber doesn't seem the most certain in her own capabilities when it comes to combat, and is almost never the type to actively seek it. It can sometimes be a bit difficult to disengage her from a scrap should she have a measure of personal investment in the matter. Should she feel something's been taken from her in some manner, it's not uncommon for her to intend to see arguments or fights through to the end - in her favor. Generally known to keep her word - especially towards those who help her in her goals -, Amber can, at times, be known to show some quirks which give question to her intentions. Given the nature of her hobbies (mentioned below) it can be difficult for her to pass up opportunities to further her goals and inventive crafts. She can become incredibly stubborn over the sake of obtaining something she appears to need or would otherwise further her works. Even close friends can sometimes find her utterly uncompromising in this regard. A willingness to take shortcuts outside of her personal meanderings is apparent as well. Secretivity is also another perhaps sketchy trait of hers, far more displayed towards the public, but on occasion even towards trusted friends. Still, it would be unfair to claim her as dishonest or even dishonorable. Amber has developed a number of inventive hobbies over the years back home, supplementing her life slightly secluded on the farmstead she was raised at. Aviation is undoubtedly tops on the list, even though she herself has never flown before outside of simulators or the pretend. Too young for the sake of formal schooling and proper licensure, she opted instead to learn about the mechanical aspects of aircraft. Later, an interest in pneumatics and mechanisms using air compression fell into her lap, leading her to spend plenty of time tinkering with little projects of her own. Her contraptions, being of amateur make and bound by stricter universal laws, had very limited results at best back home. The world of Elder Tales, however, seems to open an abundance of new opportunities for her personal endeavors, and it would be hard-fought for her to resist what seems to have been offered up right in front of her... A number of other skills reflect her choices in subclasses, as she'd grown up having to learn to maintain a number of simplistic duties and chores. Basic household functions aren't alien to her, and it's worth noting she can be a bit of a homebody at times. Rarely will she be found exploring on her own without good reason or the company of friends. For being an adventurer now, she isn't the most adventurous individual, outside of trying to build oddities in her free time. She's also arguably a middleground somewhere between an introvert and ambivert, being perfectly comfortable alone, yet preferring the company of others when venturing out into the unknown. Amber also tends not to take leadership roles, unless left with few options. In summary, she's a quirky individual whose the type to act as a specialist supporter for those she thinks can benefit mutually from her company, usually acting in the background of scenes. Reason and favors are generally the best ways to get in good standings with her, as well as generally making regular appearances with her. Her roleplaying can come across as a bit odd to some, but helps reflect her passion about her hobbies and about her eagerness to create things in particular. She can be a help in many ways, but providing materials and equipment would be most in line with her knowledge and mindset. {Certain traits were kept out of this profile, and will not become apparent until shown in active roleplay for the sake of immersion.} |

Annabelle was born to a small and rather dispersed family living in Tillamook, Oregon, on the west coast of the United States. Her father working as a commercial pilot, her most frequently visited household member was her adult sister, or her mother, before taking on a part-time job as a maid in the more recent years of Annabelle's teenhood. She grew up in quiet surroundings, spending what social time she had the opportunity for mostly with her sister or friends from school. While her mother was certainly around much of her early life, it was a rarer event for her to be privy to visits from her father, due to the nature of his work.
Similar to her most-absent parent, she developed an interest in flying at an early age. It'd been a subject of lighthearted teasing, taking into aviation as if to supplement a connection with her father - a suggestion she would brush off if ever accused. Given she was still a child and far too young to fly herself, she took up playing flight simulators during her free time, and later a hobby of rudimentary mechanics. She would frequent the small airport and its junkyards, as well as the museum on site to the point where the staff knew her by first name basis. Although perhaps a bit under the table at first, she'd begun hauling scrap for small-scale experiments in the secluded back areas behind her home, though never much achieving anything beyond a few crude engine miniatures and other model assemblies at the most through into her teenage years. Her most limiting factors seemed materials and a lack of formal training outside of limited school programs and discussions with local mechanics or online.
Outside of her other hobbies, Annabelle's sister introduced her into the world of online gaming, noticing her affinity for flight simulators. She managed this mostly by coaxing her into challenging or competitive games which offered at least some form of flight. Finding a bit of interest in more than merely flying thereafter, her selection gradually branched out into other themes like first-person-shooters or roleplay games. Seeing some opportunity in this development, her older sibling convinced her to play an mass-multiplayer online roleplay game by the title Elder Tales, which she herself had played since the game's release date. Annabelle's impression over the game were mixed, however, as the fantasy-like setting didn't quite suit her curiosities. The general lack of industrial technologies present as well as being more or less limited to flying mounts at most proved a bit of a deterrent for the young teen. Eventually, after only playing for a year through the game, she quit.
She was yet again introduced to another of her future hobbies when rummaging through local scrapyards for salvage and coming across a group of other scavengers. Seeing a couple of the small band dressed oddly, she opted to strike up conversation with them, finding them to be part of a small group of local roleplayers, acting in live action under the commonly dubbed 'steampunk' theme during their get-togethers outside of town. After a lengthy conversation, Annabelle was invited into the group, curiously accepting. The concept of roleplaying in-person was fairly new to her, but she took to it promptly. She'd later become a favorite in the group, helping to create costumes and mock equipment with her knowledge of the more basic mechanics the theme called for. Shiny Brass and pressurized toy gadgets soon littered the old decaying barns in the brushlands behind her house, overtaking many of her older projects. Adding to her other eccentricities at a young age, her newfound theatrics bled out into her time spent elsewhere. Even if only acted in a joking fashion, she nonetheless quickly become known as her school's resident nerd.
As a couple more years passed, Annabelle's sister moved out to larger cities up north, leaving her largely by her lonesome when her mother was absent at home. As a means to keep in contact with one-another, they continued their online gaming routine whenever time permitted. Mentioning a number of updates in the make, her sister managed to convince her to give the MMORPG Elder Tales another try, having been a short matter of years since she last played. A little unenthusiastic, but wanting to upkeep contact with one of the few family members who'd shown face often throughout her life, Annabelle accepted and logged back into her account. Hearing of the newly established European server and the potential for different flavors to the fantasy oriented setting, she'd created an un-leveled alt in hopes of finding something more appealing to her tastes on the new server. As misfortune would have it, the event that was later known commonly as the catastrophe struck, trapping her alongside numerous other players in the game world. Stranded in an unfamiliar land in a world that functions on different principles and without allies or resources to call her own, Annabelle - now stuck in the body of her character, Amber Compart - is left to find her own means of establishing a presence for herself along with the rest of the confused populace of recently arrived 'adventurers'...

Roleplay Class: Housekeeper
Crafting Class: Mechanic
Main Class: Bard
[attr="class","skillbox1"]
Battle Conduct - Tier 1 - Allegro skill. The Bard strikes the target directly with the musical instrument, making the sound of a high-pitched whistle on contact. This attack deals damage no different from a regular attack, but it will cause an ! to appear above the target's head. While this icon is active, an affected monster will not acquire aggro from any other targets other than its current target, no matter what effects or attacks are initiated against it. The icon appearance is short and therefore requires synchronized timing from the party to take the opportunity and beat down the opponent. This skill has an animation time of 2 seconds, a duration of 5 seconds and a cooldown of 20 seconds.
Battle Tempo effect: While in Allegro/Presto, the duration is increased to 10 seconds. While in Presto, the affected target takes 10% more damage as long as they are affected by this skill.
Ode of the Timid - Tier 1 - Untempoed Sustained Song skill. Cancels the effect of any other Sustained Song skills used by the Bard. A tune that has an eccentric and uneven rhythm. Ode of the Timid adjusts the amount of aggro generated in battle by raising the aggro-inducing potential of a selected party member, while reducing that of every other character in the party. This skill has a startup casting time of 2 seconds and an indefinite duration so long as the Bard's MP is maintained. While active, this skill reduces the user's DPS by 10% and drains their MP gradually as it is active. This skill has a cooldown time of 2 seconds after it is canceled at any time.
Battle Tempo effect: N/A
Speed Sword Etude - Tier 1 - Untempoed skill. A lively song that makes one want to rush into battle, causing the surface of the skin to lightly sparkle during its duration. This tune causes all nearby party members' attack speeds to rise. This skill has a casting time of 3 seconds, a duration of 60 seconds and a cooldown time of 30 seconds. If it is used on a target that is currently affected by this buff, its duration resets to the full 60 second duration.

{As a footnote, I feel it's worth pointing out the linear path of both the personality and history. As mentioned in the personality section, there's a lot I'm keeping under-wraps until it comes up in roleplay. The focus of the above mostly describes general behavior and initial skillsets. Other quirks, habbits and past happenings not listed will likely be brought up in-character when a befitting situation strikes. I also tend to write way too much otherwise... }
