"I really wonder how similar the conventions are." Touko was staring at a certain production tool that was situated in the crafting district of London. But before this machine gets explained, perhaps the first thing that needs an explanation would be the crafting district itself. Considering that the old non-functional station has been made the primary marketplace, most crafting facilities have been closely located in the area. Much like the unofficial guilds were recruiting close to the Parliament building, there were various parties standing around some of the production tools and working together to create materials. Tailors were working with tailors at the spinning wheels and looms to create fabric and silk. Blacksmiths were training themselves on refining and forging metal at the furnace and anvils. Artisans were sculpting statues of posing models for their work. Meanwhile... no one really knew how alchemy worked. Alchemists were the one crafting class that was not actually based on anything that was a common skill in real life. If anything, their closest counterparts were the pharmacists, who even then only had to mix certain powders or liquids together in order to make their products. Alchemy seemed more like a divine art, a skill that actually required one's magic potential as part of the process in creating items.
But now, back to the production tool. It was a Steam Oven, a contraption that bellowed a light steam as it was situated on a miniature furnace. It was really the only thing she could have pictured the Alchemy skill to use, as it was similar to a production tool that she had seen in Mabinogi. The only difficulty was the lack of crafting recipes, so she didn't really know where to start. At times like this, she only really had one idea. Touko motioned her hand over to her friends list, selected Hirosame, and initiated a Telepathy system message. "Have you worked on your crafting skills yet? I think it might be a good idea to work together to see what we can come up with."

Hiro heard a slight dinging sound, as he walked through the streets of London. He put his hand up to his ear, to hear his friend Midori speaking to him. He nodded a bit as she finished talking for a moment, before responding, "Yeah, I've worked a little bit on my Mechanic class with a Woodcrafter. Sounds like you've got a project in mind, and you'll need some help, am I correct?" He returned with another question, before looking back towards the friend list. He found that Midori wasn't all that far from him, thanks to the GPS-like positioning of friend lists and maps. He turned around and started heading her way. "Midori, I'll meet you over nearby where you are. I'll ask the Woodcrafter if he'd like to come along as well for this experiment." He took his hand away from his ear for a moment, and started searching through the list for Renai, the Woodcrafter he had met not all that long before.
Putting his hand up to his ear, initiating the Telepathy system, and began talking to the madman-err, the crafter. "Hey, Renai. It's Hiro. I've got an Alchemist friend who could use a hand with a project over in the crafting section nearby the old station. I'm wondering if you're interested. If you are, c'mon by. You'll find me easily, I'm sure." He chuckled for a moment before finishing his message to the man. "Just make sure you don't trip again, okay?" With that, Hiro disengaged the system, and continued along his way through the streets of London. He observed the people as he walked by, and wondered how many of them were getting along in this world, now that crafting was the main source of income and advancement. It looked like there wasn't going to be a whole lot of adventuring to be done, at least not outside of London, anyways.
Hiro arrived at the old station, and watched the crafters as he walked by them. The Artisans, Blacksmiths, Tailors, Brewers, Mechanics, and other crafters were hard at work, with barely any Alchemists around. Hiro didn't have all that hard of a time finding his friend, due to having his map open and a special symbol above her in order to show where she was. Hiro walked up a bit closer to her, stood up straight, and stroke a pose, with his right hand's middle and index fingers pointing across his eye, and his thumb pointing downward. He said, "Kiraboshi!" loudly, as was their normal greeting. He smiled and relaxed his stance, before beginning their next conversation. "So, what is it you wanna try and make there, Midori? And how can I help?"

The first thing that Renai ended up doing when he heard Hiro was jump, startled. Not yet having experienced the 'invisible phone' mechanic of the game personally, the player was a little taken aback and glanced around. Amidst giggles and stifled laughter, Renai grumbled and strode away from where he had been picking up trash, grumbling under his breath. "I'll be there soon." If it was an Alchemist, that meant that he or she was probably situated near one of those steam objects. It didn't seem like it was particularly related to anything of the other crafting skills and Renai could not immediately figure out a use for it, so he attributed it to some crafting skill he didn't understand. That just so happened to be Alchemy. He tucked his arms into each other as he moved, slipping through the crowds with practice, eyes flicking from space to space. Eventually, he thought to open his map and look specifically for an instance of Hirosame.
Using that, he managed to find the other player quickly enough. Quickly enough, in fact, to catch sight of Hiro as he was walking. The man seemed to be walking with purpose, probably heading over to his ally. Following after carefully and almost dancing through the crowds, Renai came to a stop when Hiro stopped, watching him suddenly strike a pose and give a chant. ...what. Renai's expression didn't falter, but there was a bit of confusion in his pale eyes. This was weird. This was definitely weird. He had never seen anyone talk to other people that way, was it some sort of greeting or ritual chant? Oh lord, had he accidentally entered a cult? He remembered an instance of a cult forming in a game he used to play, the 'Rose Cult', and as funny as it might have been at the time, it was also kind of weird. In person, it was even weirder. He waited and watched carefully to see if this 'Midori' was going to respond with some sort of code word response before stepping closer and making his presence known. At first glance, Midori seemed a little formal. Perhaps that wasn't the best way to describe it, but there was nothing wrong with a proper greeting. Renai dipped his head in a short bow, nothing so formal as to put someone off, but still a decent enough greeting to be considered appropriate for a first meeting. His expression was strangely blank as his eyes seemed to slink between Hiro and Midori, as if waiting for what was next to come. Talking to Hiro alone was one thing, but here was a new person. If it was just one, he could probably handle it. He could hear his mom yelling at him to be more elegant in his head, but that totally wasn't needed here. He wasn't doing housekeeping right now.

[attr="class","polaris"] [attr="class","girtab"] [attr="class","gif"] [attr="class","backgroundsinister"] [attr="class","stardust"] [attr="class","lockedroom"] [attr="class","murasak"] At that moment, she was examining the properties of the machine by checking its interface. Apparently it allowed one to insert a number of items in as a catalyst. Not only that, but there was even a slot for "Mana", not the Elfriede she was friends with (maybe this would cause the Assassin girl to randomly sneeze somewhere in the city), but rather the common energy force that seemed to be used by magic classes in particular. She didn't really think it was the best idea to try it out by sticking her hand in the steam oven itself though. Maybe it was conducted more by having some magic spell active while conducting transmutation. Maybe it just needed some skill that utilized MP. She knew that pretty much every class had an ability that used MP, also the more combative classes in particular tended to have them in an unstable attack form rather than in a ready-to-fire form like the magic classes often did. Still, it was worth a- "Kiraboshi!" "Kiraboshi!" As though on command, she suddenly stopped her thought at that moment and quickly assumed the same gesture that the equally-aged male had greeted her with. Suddenly everyone in the crafting district turned their eyes toward the two individuals who were performing an odd gesture for a moment before shrugging and returning to their work. The only person who didn't seem to turn their attention away was a silver-haired individual who had somehow appeared beside the two at the same time. He had simply made an awkward bow without introducing himself. At that moment, she wondered whether she would have needed to explain the purpose behind their little call sign. At first, it was a bit of a joke that they had made in real life, given the gesture's ridiculously flashy greeting. However, after they had realized that they were evidently pulled into the game itself, suddenly a gesture that was unlikely to have been coded into the game made for a pretty distinct greeting. In all honesty, it was probably their way of making a positive attitude out of an otherwise frightening new atmosphere. "Anyway, it's nice that you were able to come, Hiro and... Mr. Woodcrafter? I'm Midori, an Sorcerer and Alchemist." She made a short bow of her own in return. After introductions were given, she turned back to the machine. "For the most part, I had an idea regarding how this thing works. Does it look familiar to you? If my idea is right, then it seems to be able to turn mana into a crystallized form so that we can probably make some magic-based crafting out of it. At least, that was the first thing that came to mind when I read Alchemy's skill description of being able to create Magitech." [attr="class","notesbg"] NOTES

Hiro smirked a bit his friend had returned the gesture to him, and completely disregarded the stares of the other individuals nearby. However, there was one person that didn't look away. Due to the fact that it was Renai, Hiro didn't mind all that much. He figured he might as well introduce the two of them to one another, before much longer. "Ah, right." He began. "Midori, this is Renai, the Woodcrafter I was talking about. Renai, this is Midori, the Alchemist I mentioned earlier." With that, Midori had already introduced herself, and Hiro figured that Renai would do likewise momentarily. He then listened to Midori as she went along speaking about the machination just before them. He turned to face it, thinking a bit wihle Midori was talking.
"Yeah... Yeah, it does remind me of something." Hiro put his hand up to his chin and thought a little longer, finally remembering the mechanic from Mabinogi to which an Alchemist would create crystals for the Cylinder weapon, and launch crystallized mana as a projectile. "Right, from Mab!" Hiro said aloud. He got a little closer to the machine, and gave it a good look over. "It actually looks like it performs just as well as it would in Mab." He turned to her, and finished his statement. "Perhaps it would work the same way?" He looked back at it, thinking for another moment. "But, then we'd need to do a large amount of trial and error in order to make something without a recipe..." He stood back up, and put his hands on his sides. "Although, I'm sure you can figure something out."
He turned over towards his invited guest, and figured that he's probably leaving this guy in the dust a little bit. He felt that he should explain a bit. "Midori and I used to play this game by Nexon together, called Mabinogi. We've known each other through that, and Midori used to be an Alchemist in that game as well. She's one of the highest leveled people, if I remember correctly. If not, then one of the highest leveled Alchemists." He turned back to the machine, and wondered for a moment, before kneeling down next to it again. "Y'know, perhaps someone from Mab came on here and invented this... That would bring about the question of a potential Dry Oven as well, right Midori?" He needed to finish explaining to Renai first, and mentally slapped his forehead. "This contraption, called the Steam Oven, was one of a few appliances used to make crystallized mana, through which an Alchemist got their power. The other one is the Dry Oven, but that's not all that important right now." He continued to examine the machine, looking for other similarities between the two games.

Post by Ruemia on Dec 16, 2013 22:34:00 GMT
With a serious disposition, Ruemia strolled through the virtual model of modern day London, looking quite purposeful. One foot steadily after the other, head upright, and her hands behind her back, she listened to the sound of her rapiers clank in their sheaths. A person from the outside would automatically assume that she knew what she was doing, just by glancing at her. But in reality, Ruemia had been aimlessly walking around the streets of London without a clue what to do with herself.
The fair-haired woman clenched her jaw tightly, letting out a long exhale through her nose. This is what she wanted, wasn’t it? No more practicing how to smile a certain way, no more forcing herself to stay awake during opera concerts, no more arrogant suitors for her parents to arrange an engagement for… Ruemia could have a new life with a new identity, and there was no one to tell her who she had to be. Her desire had been fulfilled.
So why was she still unhappy?
Shaking her head, Ruemia began to search for an outlet to relieve her stress. Maybe she’d duel with someone and practice her fencing? Or find a place to paint...wait. She couldn’t paint here – not anything like she could in the real world. She didn’t have a skill for that. The closest Ruemia could get to designing a work of art was carving…
Suddenly, without warning, a wall came out of nowhere, causing her to crash right into it. Only, the wall wasn’t course and it was more of a frail pillar than the outside of an establishment. Looking up, she quickly came to realize that she had not bumped into a form of building structure, but a person standing around in a small group of people.
Bending down to curtsey at the person she had bumped into, she spoke. “My apologies,” Ruemia said, her tone delicate. “It seems even my clumsiness has been translated into the game.” Bringing her feet back together to stand upright, she slightly bowed her head with a polite smile. “If you don’t mind me asking, do any of you know where I could make use of my Artisan skill?”

Post by Kazuko on Dec 16, 2013 22:56:50 GMT
The first thing Kazuko noticed when walking through this particular street, well besides everything being overgrown and abandoned, was the loud noise of crafters performing their trades either researching new items or making new equipment for players. The ones doing research interested the girl the most since she always had enjoyed learning about new things when this was still a game. Shifting the large bow on her back she continued walking down the streets smiling as she watched people but not wanting to get too close to them, what if they didn’t want to be disturbed or want someone to know what was being made before it was ready. Spotting a furnace with a pile of stonework nearby Kazuko decided that that area would be good enough to start tinkering with the new crafting skill she acquired when joining the server.
As she got closer though it became apparent a small group had already formed around and were making something using the steam engine that was recently released to public knowledge. Edging her way into the corner she looked over the shoulder of an older girl to try get a better look without being noticed just yet. Examining the materials and object on the ground Kazuko couldn’t help but form a puzzled look on her face as she got closer and knelt down. “Uhm…excuse me if I’m interrupting but may I ask what you guys are making?" She asked looking up at the pair in front of the furnace before picking up a stone brick in her hand and looking it over.
Setting the brick down the small girl stood back up to dust off her knees before backing up again. “It looks like it’s coming along very well I’m sure it’ll succeed if you keep going." Giving a smile holding both hands together in front her while she gave a bow to the group. Sitting down on her knees Kazuko retrieved from her inventory a piece of parchment and a writing brush before quietly going to work. She’d never been very artistic outside the game but somehow it seemed like something the girl should do. Maybe some design feature would come to her that she could show these people or one of the other crafter’s in the area to add to their design.

Was he supposed to do that thing too? That Kiraboshi whatever? This was a cult. This was so a cult. Renai was really uncomfortable with this, but at least Midori wasn't hostile. He didn't really know how he was going to handle it if she turned out to be snappy or mean. In a rather strange coincidence, Renai was a player of Mabinogi as well. He was a lot more casual in his game than Hiro said that Midori was, so he was a little disinclined to say anything, but it was probably a good idea to at least mention he was aware of the Mab lore. He probably would have gone ahead and introduced himself as well, but Hiro seemed to be doing a fine job of that already. After all, his name and his crafting class had been given. What else could possibly need to be given out? Well, he should at least give a hint that he knew. "Golem crystals, perha-"
Despite his height and relative stature, Renai wasn't built like a wall. When bumped into, the player suddenly felt himself falling forward. Unfortunately for him, directly in front of him was the ovens and Hiro and Midori, which meant falling wasn't an option. What did his mom tell him about recovering from falls? Be elegant, Vincent! No. That was not helpful. In a quick move, Renai moved his hand towards his chest, causing a quick white burst of light to form at his chest. The dim light vanished immediately, but by the time it did, Renai had managed a 180 while falling, sliding his foot back to catch himself. Elegantly. His only hope was that no one had seen him use that skill and recognize it for what it was, considering it was a rather unusual self-casted version of a debuff. Maybe he could get away with it? Whatever the case might have been, his eyes locked onto the person in front of him. Everything about her screamed formality. If Renai had thought Midori was bad, this girl was even worse. So what did Renai do? He fell into his old working role. His parents had drilled courtesy into him, at least. His neutral expression stood firm as he addressed the new arrival.
"No, the fault lies with me. Please excuse me. I should not have been standing in the path." At her curtsey, Renai responded in kind with a formal bow, his tone the kind you might expect from servants, butlers, maids, or the like. Perhaps the best word to describe Renai at that moment was elegant, smoothly transferring the blame from the woman in front of him to himself. He mimicked the polite smile he received, bowing his head in turn. "Your usage of the skill varies on what it is you would like to create. As the artist in our midst had alluded to, even the smaller rocks can be used with the Artisan skill. If you would please excuse the rudeness of my invitation, I have found that collaboration between the different crafts is often beneficial. This is, of course, provided that my two comrades have no objections. Hirosame? Midori? I was only recently invited into this group myself, so I defer to your opinions." His tone was cool, but not distanced enough to be considered frosty. He didn't want to admit it, but he really had picked up the work habits of his parents. Renai gracefully elegantly turned and stepped aside, allowing full view of Midori, Hirosame, and the new unknown. Speaking of unknowns, he had not introduced himself yet to the stranger, had he? "Please forgive my rudeness, I failed to offer my name. I am called Renai." Hiro was probably dying of laughter right now, but Renai couldn't really help it. It was habit.

For a moment, as she was analyzing the Steam Oven, she thought she had heard someone mention golem crystals. Come to think of it, who were the golem users in this game if any? Touko felt as though the obvious answer would have been the Summoner class, but she really did wonder if that was all there was to it. Considering that golems were essentially stones given animation due to magical power, it would have made sense that the golems were tied together by a contract held by the Summoner. In that case, would it have been possible for someone who was not a Summoner to control a golem of their own? The contract would be substituted for sheer magical energy, probably provided by mana as a power source. This either meant it would drain a whole lot of MP to use, or it would require mana in the form of an essential battery in order to be produced. In any case, by the time she turned her head, something else had happened. Another silver-haired individual had mistakenly walked up to their group, and the woodcrafter was the one greeting her. Touko had not noticed the subtle magic trick that had occurred at that moment, but if she had, it would have been a suspicious detail for her. After all, Inversion was one of the deciding factors that she personally had to choose from between Sorcerer and Enchanter.
"I figured that if one was able to do this," Touko summoned her control bar and puppet at that moment and manipulated the figure a little bit so that it resembled the Kiraboshi gesture. She wasn't too experienced with its control other than making it stand and do that pose, though. "It might have been possible to create at least a construct of a larger size. Woodcrafting would make an obvious upgrade for a puppet, but a Mechanist could possibly work as an autonomous companion. Perhaps we could even combine this with the principles of this steam oven to create some mana that can temporarily work as a power source." She thought of a few other alternatives that could be used to augment the idea. Blacksmith could probably work similarly to Mechanic's role, which made it a little similar. Tailoring would have been an odd choice unless they wanted to dress the puppet in clothes. Scribe wouldn't really do much during the initial building process, but it could be possible for recording the feat so others could follow their example. Artisan would...? "Perhaps even an Artisan would be able to carve out a stone outer layer so that the puppet becomes more of a golem in structure."

What the hell was going on? One moment, Hiro was observing the Steam Oven to see for its similarities between Mabinogi and how it looked right now. The next, a rather formal girl walked right into Renai and he had somehow turned instantaneously in 180 degrees, they were displaying the common pleasantries with meeting someone else, and yet another girl was hiding just behind the one who just bumped into Renai. Not to mention the fact that Midori seemed rather oblivious to the whole situation, and was just as lost in thought as he was for a moment. He looked around himself, and noticed that their little group was gathering a deal of attention, for which he found himself being rather embarrassed. He stood up and looked around at all the people nearby them, and as he scanned around, he noticed that most people averted their attention, whereas others continued to look on. He sighed, and continued about himself.
He looked to the silver-haired female, and gave a small wave, followed by a smile. It was common practice, at least for him, to greet new people. He also extended a wave to the silent girl nearby, and greeted them both at the same time. He chuckled to himself, figuring that if his sister saw him doing that, she'd have a cow. "Hey, pleased to meet you. Name's Hirosame, but just call me Hiro." He gave them both another smile, before turning to the Steam Oven again. He looked over at Midori, and listened to her as she spoke. He nodded along with her, and felt that he could add in a few pointers, before getting further into the conversation. He hoped that the two extras would help out, in whatever fashion they could.
"Well, if we were to make some golems, then my job would certainly be making solid metallic joints to allow free movement. Perhaps not too free, as there's a bit of physics that would need to go into it, but something that would certainly make it move a bit more than usual. Maybe limitations on the vertical movement. That'd probably be best, so as not to overwork the joints. Otherwise, we'd need to have constant maintenance." He looked over to Midori. "And you know just how that won't work. I've got limitations, too." He laughed a little, and turned to the other three. "But, we'll probably make full use of a Woodcrafter and two Artisans. I can't think of any ways the Artisan would work, aside from what Midori said. I'm sure there'll be plenty for you to do, if you'd like to hang around." He smiled again, hoping that they would accept his offer, despite it not being that good of a pitch.

It is unlady-like to argue or even just simply debate. Be neutral, and always be grateful towards others…
“Oh, that’s very kind of you sir,” she replied with another small bow of the head, humbly displaying appreciation for taking blame. The words of her etiquette tutor influencing her response. “My name is Ruemia. It’s a pleasure to meet you all.”
The moment she introduced herself, Renai took a step back, revealing the faces of the other two players who stood around the steam oven. One was a female player who had a rather knowledgeable air to her, and the other was– What. How…? It couldn’t be.
But it was. There he was, Hiro, her half-brother standing there making a friendly gesture towards her and the young girl who had popped out from behind her. It was surprising to see that he hadn’t done anything to alter his appearance – not even his name. What was even more shocking was how she managed to find him so easily. Out of the thousands of other people in this digital London, one the first encounters she makes is with the single person who she hoped to avoid.
Even under the circumstances of the Catastrophe, Ruemia could not reveal herself to him. If she had told Hiro, he’d probably never leave her alone. She wanted to get away from the things that reminded her of home, and the last thing she needed was someone else clinging onto her.
Conceal. Don’t feel…
Maintaining a neutral, but pleasant expression on her face, she listened to their plans of creating puppets. Ruemia was not extremely versed in physics or mechanics, so she did not have much to comment on. But it was rude to not say anything in response, so she provided another uncontroversial remark. “That sounds quite interesting. Although, I am not sure how much I would be able to contribute,” the fair-haired player looked to the other young woman. “But I suppose I can design something that could be of use for you.”

Post by Renai on Dec 17, 2013 2:59:39 GMT
Well then. Weren't you just an ojou-sama. Renai's expression refused to budge, even as he clenched his jaw. Be elegant, Renai! Oh how he wished the voice of his guardians didn't pop up in his head at times like this. It would have been so pleasant to cause trouble, but that wasn't exactly the right thing to do, nor was it truly appropriate as a course of action. There were four or five people here now, depending on whether the local artist opted to join the group or not. His steps backed him out of the direct gaze of all involved, putting him near the imaginary wall of the group. There was a certain distance at which you were recognized for still being there, but out of the way until needed. In the presence of so many people, much less someone who had a stature and manner of speaking as refined as Ruemia, Renai felt obligated to return to his roots. And his roots were people who worked for those in power. Be elegant! Renai, you must not make a fool of yourself! He never understood that. Even though they wanted him to not take jobs like theirs, his parents instilled the morals and values they had gained from their jobs. He couldn't escape that.
Woodcrafting could be used to make a larger puppet, yes. It was completely possible, but at a certain point, the wooden construct would require some level of frame building and construction that would probably be better suited to a blacksmith or mechanist. At larger scales, such a golem would probably be reinforced for shock resistance by wooden plating and buffering that helped stabilize a strong artisan-made base and linked together with mechanics. As Midori continued her brief explanation and train of thought, it became immediately apparent that this was not at all the case. Rather than a stone core, it was stone plating that Midori had in mind. That did make sense from the standpoint of a comparison with classical golems, but it wasn't quite the puppet that Renai was imagining. He tried working out various configurations inside his head, moving around what he thought the 'invention' class of mechanic could do. From what he understood, the primary difference seemed to be the ability of a mechanic to create a more dynamic part. Whereas a blacksmith might be able to refine materials and create tools, when it came to moving parts, mechanics were probably who you needed to ask. Hiro seemed to agree with that assessment, maybe throwing in what Renai thought was a joke? It seemed that artisans would be creating the functional 'armor' of the proposed puppet. Not too bad. If you considered golems to be moving buildings, then it was exactly right.
Renai's gaze subtly flicked to Ruemia, even as his jaw tightened even further. The orange and silvery-blue tint to his eye color seemed to fade for a deep yellow, but the moment Renai felt that emotion, he closed his eyes and decided to simply listen instead. He could be misjudging her. It was entirely possible. More than that, he wasn't quite willing to reveal what his race was just yet. RENAI. ELEGANCE. There was no deep breath to calm himself down or anything of the sort. One moment, his eyes were closed, the next they were open and tinted their usual shifty shade. He was almost certain he could push this woman around, spite swirling around in stomach, but he decided against it. It was a bad idea. He was giving into his cowardice and prejudice once more, and that was simply unacceptable. Every possible comment he could think of towards Ruemia seemed to have a sharp undertone, so he simply refused to speak. He wouldn't do it. It was entirely possible this was a good person. There was some possibility he was being ridiculous. So he kept his mouth shut, eyes calculating something as they gazed into empty air. "Please excuse the rudeness of this question, I am not very knowledgeable in the specifics of creatures such as golems. What would be the approximate size of this endeavor? Would it, perhaps, require multiple crafters?" The tone here was clear. Renai wanted to know how big a behemoth was going to be made while creating an easy lead-in for an invitation to the kid who was scribbling away on her paper. Most of the people here could work with others, right? Was he being manipulative? Perhaps, but there was no internal reminder to be elegant, so maybe the gods above were smiling on him this time.

Kazuko lifted her eyes from the sheet in front of her as she tilted her head in confusion. These adventurers didn’t even know her and they were already asking for help on their project. Either they really needed a new person to help or this experiment was working better than planned. Placing her brush down next to the picture Kazuko placed her hands in lap. “My name’s kazuko, a shaman. I can’t do much for your golem right now but as an artisan I can lend my talents in its design and shaping of the stones." She said while introducing herself to the group gathered around.
Eyes going to down to her parchment Kazuko tilted her head as she stared at the picture. This would be a lot easier if the girl knew anything about how these golems actually worked. Maybe she could use this opportunity to better understand her skill and the skills of the others by watching them closer in this task. Opening the interface again the girl retrieved the tools needed for Artisan ECarving. Grabbing one of the bricks from the pile again Kazuko started scribbling something down on a separate sheet of parchment before switching to the chisel and tapped a few times on the stone. Nodding her head she made some more notes and drew a few more pictures before talking again. “Okay, I think I can help you guys build this if you really want me to." Speaking softly and politely with both of her hands in her lap.

It seemed their little group was progressing more and more each time, as even the lurking little girl who had been watching them had wanted to join in the task as well."Welcome, my name is Midori." Touko decided simply to just clasp her hands together and say this message rather than bowing once again. Bowing too much in too short of a time frame made her seem too overly formal. It might have been a result of living in Britain and trying to at least integrate the culture so that she wouldn't have been seen as a foreigner."But now let's make a party. I seem to have heard that parties seem to raise everyone's production quality." That or someone just wanted everyone to get to know each other rather than craft things by their lonesome. For the most part, it actually seemed to work. There were relatively few others who were working alone here in this crafting district. She quickly went to access the menu and extended party invites to the entire group, which they would be able to see by simply checking the notification pop-up that should appear in their vision.
"Would we want to start on a small scale, say the current size of my puppet right here," she looked at her three-foot puppet that was simply resting down on the ground due to her lack of command input."Or are we going bigger, maybe our heights? Going too big is probably a bit impractical, since I've heard that even beginner summoners have had trouble controlling even a golem the size of my puppet." She waited for anyone to give input before suggesting a possible delegation of strategy. After all, they couldn't really talk forever."Either way, since we have a bit of a basic idea in mind, let's start by separating the job into multiple parts. Hiro and Renai can work on the movable frame, Ruemia and Kazuko could design possible limb designs. Meanwhile I'll see what I can do with this Steam Oven. We can probably be pretty flexible and give each other feedback during our individual tasks."

Hiro watched a bit as the other players introduced themselves or reacted to one another. He got a rather strange vibe from that Ruemia person, but he shrugged it off as though it were nothing. It probably was, knowing his senses. But, it was as though something were scratching at the back of his mind. Maybe there was something behind the feeling. Maybe there wasn't. He wasn't sure. All he knew was that baby-back ribs were delicious. And, speaking of delicacies, it looked like the rather frail looking girl was agreeing to their makeshift invitation to join them. Which was good, as having more people working on this project would make things all that much easier. He was a bit stoked for this whole thing to begin, and was probably a bit more-so than he needed to be.
When Midori suggested that Hiro and Renai work together, flashbacks of the first project they worked on filled his mind for a moment, the most prominent of which being the moment when Renai fell flat on his face. This caused Hiro to laugh for a moment, before listening again to his Alchemist friend. Her suggestions were usually always taken into great consideration among their guild back in Mab, and were, more often than not, used as the primary method to which they did most of their things as a guild. Hiro nodded again to her, before speaking to both Renai and Midori. "Perhaps the size of your puppet, there, Midori, as that will serve as a good base to begin with." He turned to Renai, and smiled. "At least it won't be a monstrous-sized model this time, right?" Poking a bit of fun at himself for that, he began looking around.
He saw plenty of wood and metal surrounding them, but most were being used by other players. He could always go over and ask to purchase some, or just grab some from people who didn't mind. Although, he wondered if he should do that himself, or if Renai would like to accompany him in the requests. He figured he'd go ahead and ask, before he made a final decision. "Hey, Renai. Obviously, there's plenty of wood and metal nearby, and the only way to get it would be to ask the other players. You want me to go do that, or should we both?" He should probably cover his own tracks a little bit, just so he didn't seem like he was going to wuss out. "I mean, if you don't wanna come along, it's fine. But it might make more sense to them if both a Woodcrafter and a Mechanic ask for them in tandem." He felt like he did a bad job of explaining, but he said what he needed to say. All there was left to do was wait for a reply.

A graceful move of a hand to her chest, Ruemia blinked in surprise at the sudden message which had materialized in front of her. She wasn’t all too familiar with the mechanics of the game, and she hadn’t really touched the interface yet either. It didn’t help that she wasn’t an avid gamer of any sort, otherwise, she would have had at least some basic knowledge of how role-playing games functioned. Of course, the ojousama swordswoman was not going to reveal that about herself, so instead of staring at the invite in awe, she coolly tapped the obvious accept button. “Thank you, Midori,” Ruemia nodded her head gratefully. “I will do my best to help you all with your endeavor.”
Turning to the other Artisan in the group, she gave Kazuko one of her many rehearsed picture-perfect smiles, tucking some of her cropped hair behind her ear. “It seems we are working together for this project. What limbs would you like to start shaping first?”
If it wasn’t apparent, Ruemia did not know how to interact with those out of her age range – particularly children. Taught to be mature from an early age, she never had a real childhood, so there wasn’t much she could think of to relate to this young girl. The majority of the people she interacted with in the real world were either her age or older. Going over to also pick up a brick, she bent down carefully. Making sure none of her limbs came in contact with the ground, she lifted a moderately sized hunk of raw material with both of her hands. “Shall we move to a crafting bench?” She suggested, looking over to one placed next to the oven before heading over herself. “We mustn't make a mess in the middle of the area.”

Kazuko stared a moment with her head tilted to the side slightly as the message for a party invite displayed in front of her. It wasn’t so much the party invited that surprised the young girl but it was more that she wasn’t clear on how the crafting system worked as far as having other people around was concerned. After the brief pause Kazuko lightly tapped the accept button before turning back to the other artisan of their group, still kneeling down Japanese-style with several parchments and a quill beginning to stack neatly in front of her.
Returning the polite smile to the other player the small girl spoke up quietly yet politely on her own. “I can start on making the legs of it, it’ll be good to work from the ground up and have a better base for the rest of the golem." Giving her answer to the player she was going to be working with Kazuko gathered up a small handful of materials and stood back up from her kneeling position. Nodding at Ruemia the younger girl followed behind holding the materials as they made their way to the crafting table in question before placing the supplies on the table.
After arranging her supplies along the right side of the crafting table Kazuko hurried back for her papers before returning back to her workstation. “I think it’ll be a good idea if we sketch out our design first before we build it." Casually speaking as the young girl already started making sketches on a sheet and looking over the others. “Hey, um Midori was it? Would you happen to have any schematics on the puppoet we’re working on?" She spoke over her shoulder before walking back over to the Midori’s puppet and taking various notes on the scale and working design of the limbs.

She returned her attention toward the steam oven for a moment. Considering the idea that this tool was simply available in public, she wondered whether it was a tool that could possibly be made through the Alchemy skill itself. Frankly, it was essentially a miniature cauldron, but it was rather odd to see this resource available on the second day.
It was at that moment that Kazuko questioned whether she had any blueprints of the puppet. Touko shook her head at the statement. "This was the puppet that I got at character creation, so it didn't come with any schematics. You can go ahead and examine it, possibly take it apart if you need to take a closer look." Although, she figured such a job would have been more for Renai to decide, since he and Hiro were supposed to build on the basic frame using the puppet as a model. For the most part, it didn't really seem any particularly out of the ordinary. The basic pierrot was essentially a mannequin that was brought together by tension from the control bar. Other than that, the limbs were fairly loose and their design could be easily observed. If they were to try to make a golem, though, this design would have probably needed a slight bit of overall. Less so Pierrot and probably more along the lines of Colossus. This would have meant that the golem frame would have provided most of the defense as the inner body was meant only for proper maneuvering.
However, she would let the others decide on the aesthetics. For now, Touko needed to see just what the steam oven was capable of producing. She examined the machine carefully, checking the system menu that appeared when she tried to click over its structure. There was only a slot which indicated mana and nothing else at the moment. She figured that it either took mana from an already magic-possessed object or from the body itself. And considering that it was unlikely for someone this early on to have magic items, it was probably extracted from the body for the moment. Touko decided to try it out. She focused her hand toward an unused brick beside one of the artisans' crafting stands and concentrated her power. Psychic Conductor activated, and like telekinesis, the brick floated upward and gently approached her open palm. At this moment, she held the brick so that it floated just a few inches from the machine. Her MP was gradually decreasing due to sustaining the spell. Her other hand motioned to pull up the crafting interface again and she saw a new material appear suddenly in the mana section.
It was simply a blue-looking cloud displayed in the Mana section which came with a certain percentage which simply kept rising every second. Within about fifteen seconds, the percentage had risen to 100%, and then crafting was ready to occur. Touko pressed the button to continue. The steam oven's activity roared to life as vapor begin to rise within the chamber. Whatever liquid that was already in the container bubbled, as though it were a cauldron ready to perform some magic-based task. Eventually it stopped and the water had evaporated from the container. This left only a few small crystals within, shining as though they were gems. Touko carefully checked to make sure the inside was at a safe enough cooling temperature to touch as she picked up one of the crystals in her fingers. However, before she was able to do anything about it, the crystal seemed to dissolve and absorbed completely into her palm. It appeared that some of the MP that she had just recently used for Psychic Conductor was being stored in these crystals, as she noted that the lost MP had regained a small amount compared to a moment ago. If she had to take a guess, these were mostly likely simple mana crystals. But would they serve of any use as an energy source for an inanimate object?

Renai made no outward reaction to the arrival of the party invitation, simply staring down the notification before tapping the accept button. It was his first party, as it so happened, but it wasn't particularly difficult to figure out the interface. No, to be more specific, it was almost as though he was refusing the possibility that it was difficult or gave him trouble. As if it was not possible. The voice of the newcomer swordswoman ground against his ears, but again, Renai said nothing and did nothing. If the ojousama insisted on acting like a noblewoman even in this game, then that was up to her. He'd simply avoid her where possible. Last thing that Renai needed was someone who triggered the worst sides of his attitude. Kill the response. Silence is valued. His face seemed to simultaneously harden and soften at the same time. On one hand, his jaw wasn't at all clenched and he didn't look like he was staring anything down. On the other hand, the inquisitive part of his expression had vanished and his expression had dulled. Renai's eyes turned to Hiro as the mechanist began speaking of possible scales and the ways to gather materials. In comparison to the curiosity and fervor with which the duo had worked on that boat before, Renai looked somewhat... dead. The player stepped forward and gestured briefly in the direction of the other crafters with their stacks of material, indicating that he would go along with whatever it was Hiro wanted. The response was subdued, but there was at least some small level of power behind that empty expression. To put it in other words, the player looked as though he had the strength to back up Hiro, like a newly opened, high-power computer. It lacked character, but it had strength that could be directed. Perhaps Hiro would recognize the expression, as he had come from a noble family? Perhaps. It wasn't something that could be easily recognized anyway and, truthfully, it was probably more than a little awkward. Still, Renai followed behind Hiro carefully, speaking naught but a word. His thoughts were churning vaguely about the best method for creating a puppet, but they refused to advance beyond a certain point.

Hiro sighed for a moment, realizing the look on Renai's face showed something reminiscent of death. He gave a small nod to the other player, before turning around for a moment. He looked around at all the other crafters around, noting that none of them were People of the Land. Perhaps this town was also made entirely of players, with only a few People of the Land in the entire city. This would make a majority of the demographic of people as players, which is a bit obvious, if one thinks about it for just a moment. Of course, this also meant that the players were in the majority when it came to just about everything else. Fighters, crafters, and healers would be mostly players, while shops and such would be People of the Land. Perhaps this is what made things the way they are in London.
Hiro walked over to a nearby group of crafters, and greeted them with a little wave. He decided that he would have to be the one to do the talking, since Renai had pretty much no energy left inside him. Hiro spoke to the other players. "Hey, I see you've got a fair deal of metal and wood there. My friends and I are working on a little project ourselves, and we'd like to know if we could have some of those materials." Before just expecting an answer from them, he figured it'd be better to go ahead and let them know of their plans. "We're working on making puppets built from both wood and metal, so that our puppeteer friend can use a more solid form of puppet." He smiled to them again, before asking if they could have some materials again.
It looked like they were going to be fine with it, and allotted the group a small amount of wood and metal. The amount of wood certainly outweighed the amount of metal, but the metal was going to be used for mostly the joints, and stuff like that. Hiro took an armful of wood and metal, making sure to leave only a little bit behind for Renai to grab as well. He didn't want to overwork his fellow crafter, but still give him enough to bring back over. Hiro placed the wood and metal scraps on the table, and started to visualize what kind of a golem they were to make. It'd help if there was some kind of a model for which the two could follow, but the only one they had was the one sitting nearby Midori. That wouldn't be a good model at all, if they were to make a golem. He figured that Renai would come up with something, so he just started to sort out the pieces of crafting material.
