A notice is placed on the front door to Buckingham Palace and the Westminster Abbey, addressed to Apocrypha and Aeryn, respectively:
We have your leaders, and we demand a ransom from both guilds for the safe return of them. They are locked behind doors made by master blacksmiths, and their weapons have been taken.
We demand 25 billion gold for the return of these two, and it must be presented all at once. We will perform the trade at midnight in two days, in Windsor Castle Grounds.
This is our only offer. Failure to comply will end in permanent paralysis methods and we will take them with us beyond Avon. ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Hiro wound his fist back for a moment, activating Battering Ram, and punched the solid metal door as hard as he can. Seeing that the door didn't budge even in the slightest, he scoffed and looked around. He was in a cell by himself, and across the way, as far as he could tell, was another cell where Kumori was kept. The door had a hatch up at head level that opened whenever a "guardsman" cam by to deliver his food or whatever else the guard needed. Every once in a while, the boss would walk by, and peer in, laughing at him. Through the hatch in the door, though, he could see another door just like it. The guard or boss would look into there, and start talking to someone, too. He didn't hear any other conversations going on while he was in there, so it must be a hold for the two of them only.
As he looked around the room, he checked to make sure that there was, in fact, no holes that he could use to break out of with. There was a window up above him, far above where he could reach, and covered by the same kind of metal that was forged into the door. Hiro tried to Wyvern Kick and then punch the window a while back, but even that didn't work. What use was he as a Monk if he couldn't break down a door or three? Hiro grunted and sat on the bed that was given to him, a measly cot on a spring bed frame. Far from comfortable, but it was a bed nonetheless. What he did wish he could get out of them was a blanket, as it got pretty cold in there. Hiro crossed his arms after a few moments, and closed his eyes while sitting on the bed. He began to take long, deep breaths to activate his inner warmth to keep him warm. While doing this, he envisioned an escape plan, but first needed to talk with Kumori. That was up next. If they did plan to keep Hiro and Kumori with them as they left the area, they would need to come up with some plan to escape then. He just needed to wait for an opportunity, but until then, he'd keep calm._________________________________________________________________________________________________
Midori and @0x1dea will be posting first in the order. Afterwards, anyone else will be able to post. Midori and Oxford will be the overseers of the operation, and will work from the outside to ensure that the infiltration group is good to go. Infiltration group is as follows: CharuenBlueLaviniaBailinNostracatusYou all have your objective: To infiltrate and secure the two guild leaders from the group of bandits. The mission will be taking place in Windsor Greatwood, in a lair that Midori and Oxford had located through research and investigation. As such, they will be the ones to tell you where to go and how to proceed. The lair is very similar to that of a small dungeon or castle, so beware of small corridors. As a reminder, everyone will be auto-scaled to Level 10 for the operation. Therefore, your spells and attacks with be either increased or decreased by proportion from your original main level. Keep this in mind, as it will help you all work together. Pay attention to Midori and Oxford for instructions on party positioning, and where to go. Now then, you know your objective. Begin the mission!

So I'm making the opening post? Are you quite sure? All right. I hope you didn't just make repairs to that fourth wall. Midori is coming in, ready to make you spit out your drink with some of the weirdest posts on this site! If you don't have a drink, please get one. If you have alcohol, that might work too. But you probably don't want to waste your alcohol by laughing it out. It's a lot more valuable than your average glass of water of soda after all.
"Attention, Apocrypha guild members. It would seem that your guild master has gotten himself into quite the pinch and we'll need to help him. Please meet up at the Windsor Castle Grounds at midnight in two days. I'll give a reminder one hour prior to the deadline." the Sorcerer turned Heretic spoke through Telepathy. Add Magitech Cameras to the list of things to research for alchemy. This seemed more like a joke than an actual kidnapping. Isn't Kumori alone connected to practically all the noteworthy Adventurers in the server? She guessed that there was a possibility of Aeryn just sending the entire Stonehenge expedition force after these bandits. Don't negotiate with terrorists, was it that? How did they even manage to capture two of the server's most high-profile players and expect to ask for much anyway. Sure, Apocrypha may have purchased the Palace, but aside from Hiro's spendings, their guild bank was pretty pitiful. Closing the session, she turned back toward the ransom note, eyeing it with a suspicious gaze.
"Your leaders? Is a divisional branch leader not good enough for me to get kidnapped? The nerve of bandits these days." Midori held the ransom note with a pair of gloves as she tossed it onto a table in her quarters. She supposed that fingerprint powder could have been another alternative in research. Was that something in the Alchemists' jurisdiction? Research some type of mana powder that would react with either mana left behind from touch or the small amounts of oils left behind? Really, this was one of the biggest challenges with going Alchemist. You just didn't know what to really expect from being able to take a subclass that had no real scientific basis in real life, yet was a subclass that seemed to follow the most scientific principles of them all. "I'm not even quite sure it's really a practical idea. I mean, the concept is good if this were real life, but these bandits must be speed crafting Paralyzing Potions 24:7 if they really wanted to keep Hiro down. We could just bankrupt them without even paying a ransom before long." she thought about the idea for a moment. "Then again, we just got new members and I'm sure Hiro would like to see them in their shining moment. I suppose it's time to see what they can do. But first... I guess I'll need to get 25 billion gold in 2 days. Possibly a contract as well."
Of course, nowadays seems to be the time when she couldn't really get ahold of Scoria since Capsule and some of his other contacts have disappeared as well, so the idea of getting the legally binding contract was out of the question in most cases. She didn't really know any other Scribes who would have been able to do the deed without leaking the information to other crafters. It was a sensitive issue after all. They needed to make sure this was done as carefully as possible or else the bandits were liable to skip out on the ransom if it was deemed too dangerous for their liking. As much as it was tempting to get all of Londinium after the heads of a rather insignificant bandit group she'd never heard of before, she needed to trust her logical side on this accord.
Two days later, Midori had done just that. She carried a rather heavy suitcase that was supposed to carry 25 billion gold. In all actuality, it was a decoy prop that just happened to be called "25 Billion Gold". Really, who even had 25 Billion Gold to their name? She heard that the Londinium Stock Market Plot managed to get a couple of people wealthy, but was this world's economy messed up to the extent where common bandits would request such a ridiculous amount? What really was there to pay with that sort of money anyway, considering that the prevalent economy in Londinium has revolved more on item trading? Oh well. The primary purpose of this operation was to send in "negotiators" who would scout to see whether these bandits were all talk. And hey, they did in fact bring 25 Billion Gold. You're doomed if you sign that contract.
She walked up to the Windsor Castle Grounds and surveyed the area for any signs of suspicious-looking individuals. Now it was a bit of a waiting game, she suspected. Midori wouldn't mind tackling this operation by herself if need be. People were deathly afraid of the rumors that Corruption poisoning that could possibly inflict to a body, even though there was not very much research that had been done into how drastically the third Major Element could have affected the body. Either way, they wouldn't have suspected it until it's too late anyway. Especially since she had set her interface to hide her class. A girl's gotta hide her secrets, especially when a class change was super scandalous and changing into the Heretic class was, like, so even more scandalous! But maybe what was more scandalous was how odd her fashion choice eventually became. She may have been a British-Japanese student, but a school uniform like this was very much something you'd see a middle schooler wear, rather than someone who was supposed to be headed off to their first year of college. But alas, here she was, a person equipped like a Samurai, dressed like a Sorcerer, and yet actually a Heretic. This was meta at its finest. It was even more delightful amusing than that one time she had created a character and renamed their attack moves into attacks like Skybound Drop (neither an aerial attack nor a downward attack was involved) or Triple Throw (only two projectiles were thrown). Now all she needed was to have some kind of tricky IGN that is very uncharacteristic of her class. Something like... Guitar. Yes, it had a bit of a nice ring to it, if she would say so herself.

The ransom note set on the table in the guild meeting room, activating his Telepathy call to any other members while simultaneously communicating with those in the room with him.
“Okay, so apparently, the guild leader got kidnapped by a group of bandits and they’re holding him somewhere in the Windsor Grounds dungeons. How a measly group of bandits managed to swipe him, I have no idea. The note suggests paralysis potions, but I’m guessing witchcraft. Or something else along those lines. Irrelevant, whatever.” Ox glanced around the table, making sure they were processing this info before continuing. “As the note suggests, we need to be there by midnight to make the exchange. Their demand of ransom coming to the sum of 2.5 billion.” Really? Just 2.5 billion? “Wait, hold on a sec.” Grabbing the note, he held it up in the light to get a better look at it, examining it closely before slapping it back onto the table. “Scratch that, they want 25 billion. Stupid bandits can’t even write their ransom notes right…”
Another bout of silence passed before Ox wrapped up the little gathering. “So, as far as the 25 billion goes, the Apocrypha guild sub-leader and I are coming up with the money for the exchange. It’ll take a while, so the best thing to do for now is to get ready for the breach in two days’ time.” Another pause. “Meet up at the Windsor Grounds an hour before midnight. The next briefing will be held there.” The meeting was adjourned, Ox folding up the note and placing it in his inventory to be disposed of once this all blew over. He climbed up the Abbey’s steps, throwing open the doors of his meager “office” as he sat at his chair. He folded his legs on the table as he leaned back onto two legs of his chair, the frame giving a creak as it strained to hold him up. He wasn’t able to reach the other adventurers he partied with for some reason. Probably off doing another event of their own without him as he dealt with this seemingly major, but rather minor crisis on his own. On the bright side of things, the newer players could get some valuable combat experience out of the whole thing, so maybe things would work out fine in the long run.

we must be K I L L E R S CHILDREN OF THE WILD ONES I guess we're stuck here until we pick up the trash right? You could call it community service for what it is. A ragtag group of miscreants kidnapping two adventurers of caliber they don't even understand, and they have the gall to demand money from -us-? It was only justice that Apocrypha wipe them from the face of the Kingdom, right? Blue was dressed in her favored leathers and carrying Lugh on her hip, whistling an ode to destruction as she strut along the trail to Windsor Castle Grounds. Her song pacified the creatures along the trail, creating a field of non-aggression around her. No time to deal with pesky slime and timber wolves. She had to save her dear friend Hiro from the big bad numb-skulls. It would look bad on her reputation and in her future endeavors if she let her guild leader be taken by some disorganized group of neanderthals, and what would the trainees think? The group of new blood in the guild saw this as a chance to prove themselves, and their senior Blue needed to show them the ropes. She handled her rapier excitedly, feeling the heat of Lugh's light radiating from the hilt into her gloved palm. What a night this would be for a Battle-Bard like her.
Windsor Castle was as lovely as ever. A ruin in the center of the Londinium woodlands, taken back by nature and serving as a beacon that all civilizations would fall to the caress of time. A cheery thought, don't you think? The singer clicked her tongue against the roof of her mouth, making a smooth beat as she stepped along the ruined path of cobblestone that comprised the castle grounds. This was where she had her first battle after the Catastrophe. Had she not made a new character for the sake of experiencing the new content, she might never have come here, nor would she have met Hiro and signed on with Apocrypha. What an odd twist of fate, that. With this new world came a chance for her to really grow alongside the character she had created. She had to write that down. It'd be good inspiration for a new song after all of this. Ever the musician, always looking for the next piece to her portfolio.
Nobody around to meet her. Honestly, the fact that there was never a red carpet rolling around in front of her was a disappointment. Was she the first to arrive? Or perhaps Midori was waiting around somewhere, waiting to start some mischief. Blue never trusted that silent persona the sub-leader maintained. Like some sort of tiger waiting to pounce. Not that Blue believed there was any ill intent from it. The pinkette just remembered to drop her some candy from time to time as a peace offering. You can't be too careful with who your friends and foes are now~ Still, where were they? Battle-Bard Blue was about ready to charge these petty bandits herself and be done with the situation. She could be painting right now, or dancing, or singing, or sculpting, hell she could be cutting jewels and selling them on a street corner and it would be a better use of time than this. WHERE WE GOT LEFT TO R U N ?

Post by Bailin on Nov 25, 2014 19:25:20 GMT
“Who in this bloody game would think of the bright idea to kidnap two guild leaders and demand a ransom that high…. It’s madness, sheer, bloody madness. 25 bloody billion gold, for crying out… that’s more than me, Oddy and you have put together and multiplied by at least a hundred, it’s insane, they truly must be aware of that…” Bailin said to Nostrocatus as they marched towards the meeting point at the castle courtyard, his hands folded together behind his back, contemplating the insanity of the kidnappers demands and actions.
“I have to say, these past days went pretty fast, I mean, we got the message about the kidnapping, followed by the ‘meet at this location at that time.’, and now we’re walking through the forest to the grand Windsor Castle.” Bailin continued a bit calmer. “However kidnappings are an evil act and has to be purged, we can’t die so in my humblest of opinions the non-lethal crimes should be punished cruel and harsh. We should make an example of these buggers, restore some orde und disziplin, and show those bastards what happens when you commit evil crimes like this.” Bailin ranted, moving his arms as to empower his words. He was a warden, and by the powers that be and were, justice had to be served. Wardens were more or less the Adventurer version of the police or at least that’s what Bailin had figured out from the class description, though how one would uphold the now vague terms of law was more or less up to the person itself. Bailin did not like huge piles of paper, so swift and ruthless were… preferred if a gentle nudge didn’t seem… enough to persuade the-would-be criminals.
“So Nostro,” Bailin said rather calmly after his rant, folding his hands behind his back again, “Whom do you expect we’ll find there?”

Nostrocatus was crunching his knuckles while he listened to what his friend Bailin said about the note. He himself had not read the letter. Bailin made sure there was no need to. Except for the cracking of his knuckles Nostrocatus would have looked perfectly calm. But in his head, it was quite a different story. The bloody fools, up ducting a guild leader and thinking they can get away with it? What are they thinking? Really I just do not understand where in the name of the great litter box they got the idea of kidnapping a guild leader! For a moment he let Bailin rant about what he thought ‘justice’ should be.
Those bandits probably cooked some kind of scheme. Ore they must be stronger and smarter then they appear. Is that not the first rule? to confuse your enemy? Well I can say they did a good job confusing me.
He scratches the side of his neck. Something he did when he was nervous or confused that he could not let go in game.
“Well I suppose your right my friend. We can’t let this go unpunished if we give in to them, the next group will be more organized and ask even more. Maybe not money, but maybe some kind of epic level equipment. And then we have a real problem. Another question is, are there bandits people of the land or adventurers?
I don’t know how I feel about killing a man. I have never done it. Killing NPC’s was never a problem before. But when I talk to the n NPC in Elder Tale it surely gives me the feeling they are alive, and just as human I am, or was... and well I guess I am still a human of some sort....
For a moment he got distracted something that was not strange to for him. Whit the same easy he put his mind back on the subject. On the other and they did chose their fate when committing a felony. When Windsor castle was finally coming in to view Bailin had finally calmed down.
“Personally I think these bandits need a bit more than gentle nudge. Maybe a good old fashion knuckle sandwich would do the trick. As for other criminals I do not know. That would depend on the criminal and the felony he or she committed I guess. But that is your problem to figure out.” Nostrocatus says shrugging.
I must say, this castle is beautiful I would not mind living here, but it seems this location is already taken. Speaking of sandwiches, I would realy like one. When I have a bit more gold I should get one with chicken. Perhaps a nice piece of baked salmon or maybe steak. Not that game made stuff. But some of that player crafted food, they say it taste as good as or better than the real thing.
He yawned and licked his teeth thinking of food that would also taste like food. Not like printed carbon.
He stretches his arms before he continues to speak.
“I do not know who we will find there, it could be anyone. An agent of the enemy. A low ranking member of an allied guild or the second in command of either one of them. Bailin my friend, I just rely do not know." He sight.
For a moment Nostro kept quiet “I could try to sense her with my awesome monk abilities..., Let me try ok?” He puts his hands at the side of his head and started humming. “ohm...ohm.. it’s getting clearer.. ohm.. I see person... A female dressed in.. steel plate armour...
She is definitely waiting for someone or something.. Or just standing around because she feels like it. And she is right over there!” He said pointing to what he thought to be a pretty looking woman who did not fit his description he gave because she was dressed in leather and carried a sword on her hip.
“I might be on my way of becoming a psychic. I am absolutely sure about it. Although I might need some training.” Nostrocatus boasted while he had a big smile on his face.“ The psychic thing was just an act. Nostrocatus had just taken a good guess. And pointed at the first person he saw. Trying to lighten the mood a bit. "What do u think? Did I unlock some strange hidden werecat monk powers?” He asked dead serious.
As the two of them got closer he hold his hand up as a relaxed greeting. When they got closer he decided it was rude not the introduce himself.
“Hello miss, I am Nostrocatus.” He bowed as he introduced himself. “ And this mighty fine fellow here is my friend Bailin. Could u do me the honours of telling me your name? For I am sure it must be one as warm as the sun and beautiful as the stars that the night sky.”

The visits usually consisted of a meal, some talk about pharmacy and silence, which wasn't a problem really, but this time was different. Mid meal Lavinia got a one way call from Oxford, her guilds second in command, Lavinia had never met Ox so she was a little surprised by what his voice sounded like l, but that's get off topic. Lavinia questioned the logic behind holding two of the kingdoms largest guilds leader hostage, she did not question the stupidity behind it. Hiro being kidnapped came as a surprise, Lavinia didn't even know he was a guild leader and some how got kidnapped. "Sorry, i need to go, my Guild leader has been kidnapped." she says sternly to the shopkeeper, he nodes as Lavinia stands and collects her belongings. Reaching into her bags Lavinia pulls a rather large bag of gold and places it on the counter and starts plucking a decent amount of potions from the shops shelves. "That should be enough" the enchantress mutters to herself as she places them in her inventory, she'll be able to craft the rest herself. Heading for door Lavinia turns to the shopkeeper and smiles "See ya later oh and keep the change." she says before she turns to leave but is quickly interrupted by the shopkeeper "Be safe girl." he says before returning to his and Lavinia's meal. Nodding Lavinia opening the door and heads to her house to finish preparing. Two days later, Lavinia is walking to this supposed meeting place where their group would group up and rescue the two guild leaders. The mission would be a joint effort between Aeryn and Apocrypha, Lavinia wondered if she'd know anyone in the group. Her inventory was full of potions that she'd share once the group assembled, even if they weren't going to be used it didn't really mattered she wanted to be prepared, plus free advertising. As she walked staff in hand acting like a walking stick Lavinia looked up at the sky, the stars in the Greatwoods were a sight, it didn't even register on the same levels of what she'd seen in the real world. The red head enchantress wearing her combat outfit lowered her hood as she drew closer to the location, Lavinia wanted to make sure she would not miss the location because her peripheral vision was blocked. It was unnecessary, it didn't take Lavinia long to come across a few adventures near what would be the assumed met up location. Hesitant at first, Lavinia eventually pushes forwards and approaches the group. Whether they were who she was looking for or not Lavinia casually walked up to the trio, just in time to hear the werecat's flirtatious remark "Hey, whats going on?" she says softly to the trio, hoping these were who she was looking for, and not some awkward meeting of chance. |

WE'LL CROSS THROUGH ALL THESE NIGHTS WE'LL CROSS THROUGH ALL THESE NIGHTS "The stars are shining so brightly tonight..."
As she stood by the gates of Londimum, Charuen's eyes softened at the sight of the twinkling diamonds strung against the velvet sky. The night was calm and peaceful, and the cleric could only hope that the operation that she was about to partake in would carry the same relaxing note. Indeed, Charuen had been one of the adventurers to volunteer for the mission to rescue Hirosame, the guild leader of Apocrypha, as well as Kuromi, the master of the guild to which she belonged to: Aeryn. Although the pinkette was more than aware of how good of an opportunity this rescue mission was to make herself known in the guild, the primary motivator for Charuen to partake in the mission was a result of how much the two guild masters meant to her. Hirosame had been so helpful as a mentor when she was first starting out as a a cleric, and Kuromi had been kind enough to accept her into Aeryn and given her a family to be a part of.
A deep breath escaped from the pinkette's lips as her attention returned to her immediate surroundings. It was time to head to the rendezvous point by Windsor Castle, as instructed by Oxford two days ago. Charuen was amazed at how the second-in-command of Aeryn had spoken to everyone during the unexpected telepathy session. His instructions were direct and efficient, yet also carried clear traces of anger. This was of course, completely understandable. His close friend and comrade had been kidnapped. Nonetheless, Charuen couldn't help but notice how different he sounded in comparison to the time he had mentored her. A frown pulled at her lips as she wondered how stressed everyone in Aeryn might be feeling. Caer must certainly have not been happy to hear that her husband had been kidnapped!
As Charuen made her way to Windsor Castle, it slowly dawned on the cleric that the monsters around her were surprisingly tame. The pink haired beauty tilted her head slightly at this, wondering why that was. As if the heavens had heard her question, a familiar sounding tune reached her ears, and a light gasp escaped from the adventurer's lips as she recognized certain notes. The tune was slightly different from the original version that she knew, but the most fundamental parts of the song remained the same. Charuen quickly picked up her pace, trying to find the source of the whistling. It couldn't be...?
The whistling was getting fainter and fainter, but Charuen through following the tune, she soon found herself at her original destination: Windsor Castle. The beauty of the ruins and cobblestone streets scarcely registered in the adventurer's mind as she looked around, trying to find who she could only hope was her dear friend. Grey-blue eyes soon fell upon a group of players: two males, a girl with red hair, and most importantly, a pink haired woman with a very, very familiar face. The usual grace that Charuen usually carried completely disappeared as overwhelming affection for friend overcame her.
"Mira!" exclaimed the cleric as she rushed over to give her friend a long and affectionate hug. She was aware that there were others around, and that she was probably making a horrible first impression, but at that moment, it did not matter. "I finally found you!" Despite the rather dreary circumstances of their reunion, Charuen couldn't help but be filled to the brim with happiness to have finally found her dear friend.
NOTES:Ah, sorry... I just kind of gave up near the end. ^^;; [b

Please consider this the theme of the post.As you all gather before the ruins of Windsor, you begin to notice that there are some lights on in a building not too far away from the grounds. Before much longer, you realize that there is a secret lair hidden by the forest, that can only be seen at night, when lights are on within. The party will notice that the exterior of the building is very much so like that of Windsor Castle, old and covered in regrowth. You can also see that it has a wall stretching around the width of the inner lair and is large enough a place for people to walk on easily. There are a few guard towers that lead from the ground up to the wall's height, and then a bit above that for vantage points. The lights that can be seen are from the second and third floors, as well as a few of the guard towers. From the Intel that was received by both guilds, the perpetrators were a bunch of Adventurers who were promised big bucks by a powerful player, who devised the entire situation. The leader, who shall be known as Bandit Lead, is within the halls themselves, and is more than ready to leave without so much as a second thought. The bandits are unaware of the infiltration operation, and are preparing to meet the adventurers in the fields before Windsor Castle. It is presently 2300 hours, 1 hour before the meeting time, as Daylight Savings has been implemented over the server. The Bandits were hoping to catch the adventurers of the guilds with this little loophole, then jack up the price for being late. This, however, is only going along with what they know, and they are unaware of the mission that will be taking place very shortly from now. All that being said, now is the time for the party to organize themselves into a group, designating who should go in front of the other, and who should be behind. This formation shall be assigned by Midori and @0x1dea, and the party shall infiltrate on their mark. As such, Midori and Oxford are encouraged to post as soon as they can. For all intents and purposes, the order in which everybody has posted up until now shall be the posting order, unless I mention it otherwise. Also, as of this post, the "Level 10 Synchronization" skill has been cast on the party. Party Tags: Blue, Bailin, Nostracatus, Lavinia, Charuen. Note for Midori and Oxford: Please try to send the party up to the gate with information about the bandits inside. What you say is up to your own discretion, but I ask that the bandits be kept at reasonable levels.

She had placed down the briefcase near the designated meeting point and made her way up to a nearby hill, allowing for a vantage point over the back entrance. There, she confirmed the layout of the building complex. There were a few lights still on among the top floors and the guard towers, which meant there had to be some security. Given the size of the Windsor Castle grounds, Midori sent a series of similar messages through Telepathy toward the other guild and alliance members to confirm the destination. "Remember, Windsor Castle backside. You should see a rundown building with lights on. The main entrance is the dungeon lobby, and we're not planning to run through that at the moment." It was only a matter of time before people had started to arrive, one after another. After a few minutes, the first members have started to arrive. Now let's take an inventory. Apocrypha pink-haired Bard, pirate Warden, werewolf Monk, check. On Aeryn's end, red-haired potioneer and pink-haired member, check. All that was left was the Aeryn leader representative for them to start.
Still, this might be one of the more underwhelming elite rescue units in Elder Tale history. If their extremely high leveled leaders managed to both get captured, how in the world was a group of average level 10 players supposed to break them out? The answer is simple. Plot Armor™. After confirming that the group currently gathered up at the back entrance was all they were going to have, she descended back down the hill and revealed herself. "Hello there, I'm Midori of Apocrypha. I'm sure you all know time is of the essence, so let's keep this short." she revealed the briefcase and handed it forward to the party. "This is the 25 Billion Gold briefcase. Keep it in case you need a diversion." Bandits love money. Not so much fake money, but they'd probably be knocked out before they should find out.
"Now then, intel says that the bandits have mostly set off toward the trade spot in Windsor Greatwood, so the amount of guards remaining in the lair should be at a minimum. Find a way toward where the guild leaders are locked up and look for a way to break them out. Judging from the ransom note, we're dealing with sloppy and greedy people, so they're bound to keep the keys somewhere obvious. Currently our ideas are that it'll be situated in the central building, but you'll probably have to get to the guard towers to capture them first. I would personally suggest you split off into two smaller groups to avoid attracting attention, but I'll let you decide that for yourself." Temporary parties of two or three each might work when capturing the guard towers. They seemed small enough that not more than one or two bandits should be stationed in there at a time.
"You can keep in contact with myself and whoever else is leading Aeryn's intel through Telepathy. For the person that's going to be in primary contact with me, I'll need to place a little spell on you beforehand so I can essentially see what you're seeing and make decisions from there." For the most part, that was basically it on her end since the other coordinator had decided to spend his first post not showing up. Please await further instructions. We know you're probably busy operating on Saber again, Dr. Ox, but this was still Hiro's life on the line here.
Oh, and now everyone was now synchronized to Level 10. I guess that's one way to be subtle about how odd this operation was.

- GO TO THE SKIP MARK IF YOU WANT, THE FOLLOWING IS JUST FLAVOR TEXT -
Sweat beaded on Dr. Ox’s forehead as he looked upon the patient’s open abdominal cavity, waving his ultrasound device over the patient’s digestive system, looking for the tell-tale signs of parasitic life forms that were residing in his gut. The beep of the heart monitor was a constant reminder to him that the patient’s life was on the line, each beep another precious second of time becoming a wasted effort as he kept up the search. Three pings sounded out from his instrument as the familiar flecks of death appeared on the monitor. “Scalpel, nurse,” he called out, closing his fingers around the cold handle of the instrument as it was handed to him. Position the sharp blade carefully, the doctor made two quick cuts to expose two of the disease. By the time he got to the third one, it had already faded from view, making a deep incision of its own as it burrowed back into the patient’s gut. “Nurse, the laser!” The concentrated beam of energy quickly eradicated the two that had been extracted, a nasty burning smell managing to make its way to his nostrils. Dr. Ox then switched back to the ultrasound, sweeping the beam all over until the familiar ping was heard. His head snapped to face the monitor, the results showing that it was now residing in his stomach. No, now his esophagus. Stunned, Ox slowly removed his surgeon’s mask as he watched the monitor in horror. “Dear God,” he whispered. “It’s coming out on its own.” The suddenly enlarged form of the monster leaped from the patient’s mouth and now lodged itself onto his own face. The room went dark, the sound of the heart monitor flat lining as he lost consciousness. “I knew I should’ve taken that ‘Advanced Xenomorphic Tumor Extraction’ class back at med school,” he muttered to himself before everything faded to black. - SKIP LINE –
Ox woke with a start from his make-shift resting spot inside the lobby of the Windsor Castle, rubbing his eyes as he checked the in-game menu for the time. 2300 hours. Throwing aside the simple blanket he’d brought with him, Oxford rubbed his eyes and let out a grunt as he stretched his arms above his head. Once he’d woken himself, he checked to make sure he still had the notes about the first group of bandits they’d probably be dealing with. Pffft, bandits. More like hoodlums. What were they good for, anyways? If they weren’t throwing toilet paper in your trees and causing water damage to your house, then they were kidnapping your guild leaders and demanding outrageous sums of money for their return, he thought to himself as he approached the meeting that was already underway, thanks to Midori’s leadership. “And I’m Oxford of Aeryn. And I was totally here when the meeting started,” he interjected after Midori had introduced herself to the mission group, giving a polite nod to everyone as he did so. He ran a hand through his hair as she began her part of the briefing, trying to get rid of any traces of bed hair he had after taking a nap on the cold, hard ground. While everyone else probably slept snug and safe in their beds/sofas/cozy nook of a tree, Ox decided he’d camp out on the edges of the Windsor Castle Grounds to see if he could get some intel on what they were going to be up against. What little he saw on his scouting trips were just a bunch of loud-mouthed players who thought that they were the bee’s knees, a group consisting of approximate 6 or 7 Assassins stomping loudly through the forest not far from where he was camped. Some of them even saw him, but thanks to a simple blanket and some dirt, all they saw was a dirty homeless adventurer trying to survive in the forest. With his little disguise, he managed to get some dirt on the guys (no pun intended) that had apparently managed to kidnapped their leader, despite being the loudest Assassins he’d ever heard in the server. Once Midori finished up her part, Ox stepped up, pulling out his notes as he began to relay the fruits of his bit of espionage labor to the group. “Alright, got a bit of info about some of the kidnappers. After scouting here for the past day or two, I’ve seen about 6 or 7 bandits come out at a time throughout a day. A lot of them had different types of equipment, so it’s probably safe to say that there’s a good number of them hiding within, so caution is advised.” Page flip. “Since 3 of you have combat-oriented classes, I figure you’ll be the front lines while the healer and support classes take the flank of the group.” With a snap, Oxford shut his notes, tapping the notebook against his head as he tried to remember the other thing he needed to say to them before they left. “Oh, and before I forget, the entrance’s right over there,” he said, jabbing his thumb behind him at the illuminated entrance in the distance. “Pretty, isn’t it? Just put a neon ‘Open’ sign on it, and no one would even notice…if it was in a city, that is.” |

we must be K I L L E R S CHILDREN OF THE WILD ONES When you stay silent for but a little and open your ears to the world around you, you'll find that Windsor sings a song of its own in these windy londinium nights. The coastal breeze coming in from the south-west blows freely through these stone ruins of elder days, creating a haunting tune that calls out to those adventurers with an ear for the mysterious. This was Blue's favorite place to be. Were it not for business, these ruins overtaken by wild growth and gorgeous flowers would be an excellent stage for Blue to shed her clouded thoughts and dance to the tune of the ancients, howling from the inner sanctum of the castle. But alas, that was not on her agenda this day, and the arrival of two new compatriots gave her a reluctant reminder of that. She would have to settle with a dance of blades later this evening when they had dealt with the hooligans that held their leaders captive. What an irksome distraction it was. Bloody fools with their senseless greed. Blue let go her thoughts and turned to the two that sauntered up to her. A flirtatious werecat and a Warden who's ranting could be heard kilometers away. Blue had to smile at that. They both lacked a care, it was rather amusing. "Well, aren't you the charming one?"
Blue beamed at Nostrocatus and then at Bailin, making sure to flourish as much as possible when giving them a formal bow. She had heard of these two before. They were temp members Hiro had allowed to join in hopes of creating an alliance with them after they formed their own guild. Rather political, but who was to deny the effectiveness of such an outcome? "They call me Blue, Bard of Apocrypha and Artisan. It is my utmost pleasure to make the acquaintance of you both." She said, her words honeyed while her emerald hues analyzed them both. What was the nature of these two beings in front of her? The blade dancer was eager to find out in the coming hours. Her curiosity piqued when another set of steps soon echoed into her ear, turning to a hooded figure which now approached them. A member of Aeryn perhaps?
"You must be from our fellows in the other guild. A pleasure to meet you miss." Blue said, smoothly transitioning to her with a gentle smirk. Red hair, enchanter, she looked like she could handle herself in a battle. Being a cute girl was always a plus too. Blue had no complaints. "We're waiting on our leaders to arrive and brief us on the situation, presently. I can't say for sure where they are though." Blue had a head count of four out of seven. One more member from Aeryn and the Guild sub-leaders was all they needed left to get this event rolling. Hiro was probably aggravated that they had not come to save him sooner. Oh how fun it would be to tease him for this later. But, wait... was someone calling for her? Wait, was someone using her real name? Well that was rather unsafe, she didn't need people knowing that informa---- wham.
The feeling of a female form embracing her was unexpected though not unpleasant. How would one describe it? The warmth of another, fueled by joyful emotion was something she hadn't felt since before the catastrophe. The pinkette looked down at a familiar crown of hair, taking a moment to register what she was looking at. She pried herself from the grip of the strange woman and looked at her face, poking it softly with eyes full of wonder. "... Charlotte?" She said quietly, eyes wide and perplexed. "Chary is that you? Oh god it is! Chary!" She exclaimed, returning a hug with another, holding her old friend tight. "I can't believe it! I didn't know you were on this server!" She smiled happily. What a strange series of circumstances this was. How exhilarating!
Alas that the reunion was cut short. The two guild sub-leaders arrived shortly after to brief them. Blue could only listen, still holding on to her friend without even really noticing she was. She probably looked like a fool, but perceptions be damned, one of her dear friends had just shown themselves and she was going to hold on to this moment. "I will follow whatever we decide to do. I'm a quite capable sword hand." WHERE WE GOT LEFT TO R U N ?

“Yes, Nostro is the charming kind of cat. But alas, the day is sad when the fair mädchens (maidens) of the world are being sent into peril and harm’s way, I am Bailin and it is a pleasure and a privilege to make your acquaintance.” Bailin said with a deep bow and a wink, placing the heel of his left foot against the inside of his right foot, making a rather large swing with his right arm whilst holding on to his rapier with his left. “So I guess we just wait now for the others to start showing up… what was it again, hurry up and wait?” Bailin grinned, scanning the surroundings in case someone was brave enough to approach the larger growing party, but missing the arrival of two members of the rescue party because he was looking the other way. Suddenly there was a bit of commotion and intuitively Bailin reached for his rapier and turned around to face the ‘danger’, but relaxed as he heard Blue call the attacker by name. “So Nostro, as those two are rather busy, what do you think? Will we go in guns a blazing or rely more on subtle… removal of certain… unwanted persons? Also, depending on what we are going to do, I’d prefer to stay on the left side, that way I can use my rapier offensive and defensive whilst also giving me a bit more reach. Though if need be I can probably just stand in the middle and take punches, if we have any good healers with us. One never has enough cannon fodder, wouldn’t you agree?” he grinned. A few minutes later both leaders appeared and thus the fun and relaxation part was over. Putting his right hand on his lower back, palm facing outward, his left hand on his left side and straightening his back, Bailin started listening to the plan and intel Ox had gathered. Well this looks easy enough. However, how do we take the towers… are we going to climb or just storm them? Hmm, maybe if I had a gun I could provide fire support as well as being offensive and I’m much better suited for ranged combat… he thought to himself. “Dreadfully sorry to speak without permission but does anyone happen to have a spare gun lying about? I think I can hold myself well enough on the frontlines however my skills are oriented at ranged combat, though I forgot to pick up a gun… Also: How do you want us to secure the towers? Are we going to climb hem or? Other than that, just tell me where to go. If there is no gun available, I’ll just stab them full of holes.” Bailin grinned at the notion, hoping he wouldn’t be scolded for talking out of turn. “The pleasure is all mine Blue, Bard of Apocrypha. ” Nostrocatus answered in a politely.
Charming is what I try to pull of here. So she is a bard. Well I guess that means she can compose a striking ballad of our daring rescue. She looks quite capable which is something we need on our quest to save the leaders. More importantly she looks rather trustworthy and not the kind of person that would stab u in the back. At least that is what the first impression of her gives me. The future wil point uit if I am right to trust her. In the mean time Bailin gave the same kind of extravagant introduction. Although whit les words.
Show of he thought smiling. And yes it’s time to wait. Even in the virtual word that is what u seem to do the most of the time.
He was about to sit down when something behind bleu caught his eye. Although he could not clearly see what it was.
Hold on a minute.. what is that behind her? Some dome NPC, a people of the land? An enemy assassin? He was about to enter battle mode when he figured out the woman was a friend of Bleu.
Well that is nice.. were all friends. Next time it might be smarter not to scare a party on enemy terrain. He Masked these toughed by smiling. Before he could place a remark Bailin asked his attention.
“considering the mass of the building and the fact those mere bandits did up duct 2 guild leaders, going guns blazing might be more fun. But getting them out subtle is the smart thing to do I think.” He said nodding. “U at my left side would be just like the old days. And we do not need more cannon fodder. That is what I am here for.” Although some more might come in Handy. We are only whit 7 man.. euh people.
The arrival of the two commanders made Nastro shut up and pay attention. Before they were here he was wondering what kind of soft luxurius furnature they had in that castle. But as soon as the party leaders started talking he listen carefully.
So if I understand this right we are to get in, take punches kick some bandit buts save the leaders and get out.. It does sound easy. Too bad it never is that easy there must become kind of catch. That moment Bailin pointed out one of those obvious problems. That is a good question. We could indeed go storm the tower. I think that they will know where there before we can get to them. And then, this can go rely ugly. Climbing the tower could be a good way to avoid attention. But it is going to be a long climb. And I do not feel that much for a drop whit a sudden stop. Although I am catlike. There are limiits to what I can do. I am not a spider, I do not run strait op a wall. Ha ha ha ha, spider spider-cat… a theme song of a cartoon pop-up in is head. Nostrocatus began to sing this in his mind. spider-ca spider-cat does whatever spider-cat does. Climb the wall. Kill a rat.. it is the amazing spider-cat! I grabbling hook would be great to scale those towers. Too bad we do not have one. Why are there always things u do not seem to have when u need them. Or at least make good use of them. I wish Oddy was here whit us. His skills would have come in Handy.
He put his hands behind is head while he waited for the other members to tell him what to do. And in which of the two assault teams they wanted him to join.

Lavinia looked at the trio as they exchanged introductions, the pink haired bard was the only one to address the enchantress' arrival. She was a bard, Lavinia hasn't seen a bard until now, but the girl seemed trustworthy enough. Not to mention she was in Apocrypha and judging from her past experiences with the guild leader, his members should be trusted. Lavinia smiled and nodded to the bard in greeting, but decided against saying anything. As Lavinia listened to the human warden and the werecat talk amongst themselves they were interrupted by someone calling for the bard, Blue. It was pretty obvious by the tone of this new comers voice that she was friendly, so when she noticed the two men flinch and reach for their weapons Lavinia sighed. Watching the two pinkettes conjoin in the ritual of long lost friend reuniting, the pair reminded Lavinia of Kitty, she wondered if they ever got out of this game if this is how they'd greet each other if they would met. But this isn't the time for such thoughts, since the two second in commands has finally arrived.
First a young girl informs the group about the situation, Lavinia assumed she was from Apocrypha. Listening to her explain the situation with the guard towers and how they needed to be cleared, Lavinia agreed. Although, sloppy, the guard towers could signal for reinforcements and they didn't need that. Next was Aeryn's second in command, Lavinia knew him by name and that was all, he was more handsome than Lavinia imagined. As he explained what he knew about the castle itself, Lavinia looked around at the guard towers while still listening to Oxford's explanation. Lavinia would wait for the others to say what needed to be said before she would comment herself. "Going in guns blazing isn't exactly the best strategy, like your friend said. But scaling the wall isn't either, myself and possibly the cleric lacks the physical strength to climb a vertical wall without special equipment. Not to mention, if we're seen, we could be easily taken out by ranged attacks. So, I think the best strategy is to split into groups and storm the place, quickly and quietly." she says looking around to each person as she spoke. She wondered if any would object to her proposal, even if she just rounded up what everyone else said and complied it. It was the sort of tactic, police forces used back in the real world, go in quick and in the confusion achieve their goal. Lavinia would pause for a moment as she waited for anyone to respond before she continued. "If I may, I'd say that Blue and Bailin pair off then myself, Nostracatus and Charuen form the second group. Unless someone else has any suggestions. After the towers are cleared, we regroup and take the rest of these guys out." she concludes to the group, Lavinia would let the rest of them decide on what they would actually do. But, she felt her reasoning was sound, pair two strong combat classes together and then pair the support with one combat class. This should allow for the overall speed and strength of the two groups to balance out, in theory.
Lavinia almost forgot about the potions she made everyone, thankfully she made enough. "Oh, I have something for everyone." the enchantress says as she pulls her bag around and drops down to one knee. Placing her bag in front of her, Lavinia begins pulling vials of potions and tablets from within and places them on the ground in groups. six groups of potions now sit in front of her, each group had 3 Potions of Nighteye, 3 Medicinal Tablet's wrapped like candy and 5 Lesser Mana potions. Of course, Lavinia left her own set of potions in her inventory. Lavinia had hoped she brought enough for everyone and she did, thankfully. Still kneeling Lavinia looks at everyone around her as she spoke, "I made everyone consumables to help. Everyone take some, I made enough for everyone." she says to everyone. How lucky was that Lavinia had made just enough for everyone to be able to have the same amount. She hoped everyone would accept her gift, it was better to have them and not need them than to need them and not have them.

WE'LL CROSS THROUGH ALL THESE NIGHTS WE'LL CROSS THROUGH ALL THESE NIGHTS
The smile on Char's lips only widened when she saw the look of recognition appear on her friend's face, and heard Mira's familiar voice call out her name. However, there was no time for celebration -- not yet, anyway. They could catch up after they successfully completed the mission and saved their guild leaders. At that thought, Charuen tilted her head at her friend, and an expression of curiosity replaced her gentle features. Was Mira part of Hiro's guild, or were they members of the same guild? Being a new member of Aeryn, she (unfortunately) did not have a clear idea of who her fellow guild members were. Nonetheless, now was not the time to ask about such trivial things. Aeryn member or not, they would be working together to save the leaders of both guilds. However, the fact that she would be fighting along Mira left the pink haired adventurer feeling happy and confident about their upcoming mission. Like the stars that were twinkling tonight, Charuen viewed her reunion with her friend as a sign of the good things to come later on in the evening.
Upon releasing her embrace on the bard, the cleric turned to take a look at the rest of the adventurers in the group. Her face reddened slightly as she realized that her most recent actions had been rather...impolite. As she looked from member to member, Charuen took took mental notes and each and every one. Other than her and Mira, there was a redheaded enchantress who seemed to carry an air of classiness; a young man with with an eye patch who turned out to be a warden, and werecat monk whom Charuen couldn't help but feel slightly intimidated by. She offered each of them a polite smile, but before she could introduce herself, a mysterious figure approached their group. The newcomer, a raven haired young woman, introduced herself as Midori, a member of Apocrypha. Right behind her was a familiar face -- Oxford, the second in command of the guild she belonged to.
Next thing she new, a briefcase containing 25 billion gold (Where did the money come from?!) was placed in her hands. There was no time for Charuen to react to what had transpired, for Midori then launched into a detailed explanation over their situation, as well as their course of plan. The pinkette nodded at heretic's words but said nothing, for it all made sense to her. When Midori asked for someone to keep in primary contact with, and no one volunteered to do so, Charuen raised her hand and walked up the other adventurer.
"I can keep in contact with you, Midori." She said with a smile.
Oxford then launched into an equally detailed spiel over their planned course of action, and Charuen listened to him as carefully as she had with Midori. Unlike the raven haired adventurer, Oxford seemed to favour the idea of the entire group completing the mission together from start to finish. The cleric could see the advantages and disadvantages to both strategies, and it seemed everyone else did too. Thus, the pink haired was quite surprised when the enchantress in their group spoke up,and pointed out the disadvantages and challenges to both rushing into the building, as well as if they attempted to infiltrate by climbing its walls. The pink haired adventurer found herself being quite impressed as the the young woman suggested they split up first, in order to infiltrate the building, and then quickly regroup to save their guild leaders. It was the perfect mix of both Midori's suggestion and Oxford's plan. Furthermore, the redheaded adventurer pressed on and began to talk about the consumables she had created to aid them on their mission. A look of admiration appeared on Charuen's face as the enchantress took out the goods that she had made.
"Wow, you're so prepared!" she gushed. Charuen took hold of her share of the goods and placed them in her inventory. Despite having only just met her, the pinkette already found herself already taking a liking to the red haired adventurer. "Thank you for the consumables... And I agree with you, it would be bet to split up first to get inside, and then quickly regroup. Two small groups to take out the towers quickly and quietly, and then come back together to take out the mastermind of this kidnapping, and save our guildmasters..." The cleric's voice trailed off, and a faint blush appeared on her face. She wasn't speaking out of line, was she?

(OOC: Tobin has synced to level 30. Though don’t worry about finding him, he has no interest in assisting the rescue party. He is just here for the entertainment and will observe until he’s entertained. HELLO NEW PEOPLE!)

"Hmmm, things seem quiet. Too quiet."
Nestled in the shadows of the Winsor castle, behind a crude cross shape opening sat a short figure before a crackling open fire. Any distinguishable features were sheathed in darkness, only the glint of rose hued lenses and gold frame gave any indication to the mysterious figure's identity concealed under dense woollen cloth of his shaggy, bandit gab, drawn tight to offer shelter against the early kiss of winter. A gentle clang of metal echoed within the small chamber as coin tossed and turned in the shadows, its warm golden formed a suspended molten river that danced aloft under the faint illumination of embers. Though as the fire once again gained strength through fresh fuel the faint sheen of midnight purple faintly illuminated a pair of black plated gauntlets, at each knuckle a sharp talon gave the slightest hint of the exposed steel used to craft them.
Not that anyone new to the alliance would know his identity, likely the closest any had come to meeting this fellow was through legends whispered in many a drinking hall. It was no surprise that Kumori had likely not mentioned the Dwarf in his recruitment schemes, after all mention of a figure unbound by morals would have likely have made those faint of heart thing twice. A molester of fox tail ears, the beast of Lands’ End that ended four of the greatest adventurers in a river of liquor. Other tales told that he was a slayer of the henge, the battle dwarfed by his defeat in the creatures remains, some whispers even indicated that he had inflicted unspeakable terror upon Hyzen, that the stunted had attempted to tame it! If even half of those rumours were true, then this diabolical figure would strike terror into any who came across him or hilarity, one of the two so it was hardly any wonder that his presence within the guild was minimised up to this point.
Yes, the Half Strider was here.
It bore a final question however. Just what was Tobin doing here? After all, up in his isolated room up in the battlement his eyes could observe anything. A gentle rumble of a chuckle echoed through the chamber as the coin was flipped, a gentle rattle drew the soft din to a silence as a pair of crystal blue orbs glanced down to the result, then out of the window and into the wilderness, knowingly.
“The show should be startin’ aneh time soon, hope they aren’t late fa ta parteh.”
The guard had meanwhile pushed a pair of full English Breakfasts through the door to the prisoners as supplement to keep them healthy. Though any whom had tasted the sausages or the bacon it would soon find that their bowel, much like the wealth in England, would rapidly migrate down south. Without a suitable portable disposal unit within in this chamber, things were about to get more poltical then the house of commons amidst talks over MP pay.
Needless to say, a shit storm was brewing in the House of Commons and this author wasn’t talking politics. The Dwarf’s absent minded chuckles suddenly made sense, the worst disaster inflicted upon this collation government yet was about to come as things were about to get much more political.
“Any time now. Even a little scream would be good. Teach dem bloody sods fa overlookin’ ta dwarf. Bahahahah!”
The Dwarf began to hum with the white glim of a smile dancing in the soft flame, it had been a trivial process to soak the bacon and sausages in immensely strong laxatives, walk up to the door disguised hooded bandit gab and slide it through the hatch in the door.
Rescue them? Pah! That was the role of people with a sense of responsibility!

Regardless of the group's planning phase, the guild leaders weren't in the luxurious position to allow time to tick by. Neither would the bandits who remained inside the buildings. As the two guild co-leaders indicated, there is indeed a large gate with towers on either side. These are the main battlements that guard the entrance, as well as the only two towers that are within the boarders of the castle perimeter. The rest of the surveillance from within the castle walls is on the outer wall itself. However, due to the lack of personnel in the bandit's operation, there are only the ones posted inside the tower. There is no way for the guards within these towers to signify a breach to the others, aside from shouting out loud to the rest of the area, but even that may prove hard to accomplish, due to the lack of people outside the castle walls at any given time. As the group discusses their battle strategy, Midori and @0x1dea can see that there are two small holes in the wall, on opposite sides of the gate, near the bases of the towers. The rest of the group cannot see these. Beyond the holes in the wall is a staircase leading up to the tops of the towers, and atop each battlement can be seen two guards in each. Please use this information to your advantage, co-leaders, as it may make the situation more possible for the raiding party. As Midori has selected Charuen that will allow her to see what Charuen sees. As such, information shall be passed instantaneously between Midori and Charuen. It will be up to Midori's discretion what information is shared from outside, as well as shall it be Oxford's job to protect the Heretic co-leader. Oxford can supply battle information for the groups to execute, as Aeryn was given a full dossier on the equipment and battle strategies of these bandits. Oxford can use these notes whenever he wishes, to inform them of the bandits' equipment in the towers, and the raid party can take this knowledge with them when they make their move. All that being said, it is up to the group as to how they go about this. Climbing up the wall is still a viable strategy, however it can be much more costly and risk the operation's failure. On the other hand, however, taking the more secluded route will use up more time, but will have a greater chance of the mission's success. From this point on, each posting rotation will be about 5 minutes in-game time, which is significantly less than 5 minutes in real time. Current Mission Time: 11:05 PM/2305 Hours Mission Completion Time: 1:00 AM/0100 Hours Mission Objective: Rescue Hirosame and Kumori within the abandoned castle before 1:00 AM in-game time. WARNING!: Raid group will be spotted at the start of next posting rotation, if they do not move. Options: Climb up the wall, or crawl through the holes. Actions Allowed This Rotation: Raid group may either attempt to climb the wall and take the bandits out in a sneak attack./Raid group may crawl through the hole and ascend the staircase, initiate combat with the bandits having the first round of melee attacks. Meanwhile, back in the hospital...
"Director Saki, we've detected a chiral reaction in Operating Room B! Dr. Ox has fallen unconscious and there is no one else to perform the operation." A panicked man ran into the hospital director's room. Judging by his clothes, he had sustained some slash wounds in his uniform trying to free the killer virus from the ace doctor's face. A girl spun around from the chair of the director, her age and height seeming as though she was even out of high school. The director picked up her glasses that were laid on the table and placed it on her face. There was a flash of light as the dim light of the room reflected upon the adjusted glass of her spectacles.
"What about Dr. Stiles?"
"He's away on an early Christmas vacation, ma'am."
"Dr. Wily?"
"He got all excited after seeing the virus that he went into his laboratory to research it."
"Then there is no other choice. Prepare the Harmy Project. I'll have to see if my creation is up to the challenge."
The man bowed and quickly ran out of the room. The girl turned around in her chair just as the room itself seemed as though it was starting to move. The walls were giving way, folding out to reveal a girl in an experimental tank whose body seemed to be primarily machine. She was formerly a normal girl who had been caught up in a time lord's mettling adventure, and now she was a genetically-enhanced cyborg. The Director merely gazed at the girl with high expressions as her eyes opened for the first time...
...
Midori had been beginning to daydream again, but the voice of a new stranger had snapped her out of it. Finally. The Aeryn representative had arrived right after she finished her overview of plans. The members had seemed fairly receptive of her plan. It was really one of the safer methods in rescuing the guild leaders. After all, they wouldn't have been the most threatening party out there with their current Level 10 statuses. But come on now, just because she was now a Heretic doesn't mean she became an entirely different person altogether. Did no one seriously acknowledge her request to place a spell on one of them before they were to start the mission? Actually wait. Other than the Bard who she knows by proxy due to Hiro, she didn't really know any of these people and thus they didn't know who she was. Really now, the writer of this post is probably one of the more prominent administrators on this site! Why would you miss such a good opportunity to get to know the admin better by interacting with this character? Right, people are scared of me. Figures.
One girl did step up, however, greeting the strategist with a cheerful expression. It seemed a bit peculiar, considering the serious note of the operation, for someone to really be acting friendly at a time like this. She did see this pink-haired girl showing public affection for her guildmate just a few moments prior. Maybe it's just her personality. In any case, Midori returned a smile in appreciation and raised her hand to the other girl's collarbone. "Then you will be my eyes." she drew a symbol from mana which caused an stylized eye-looking insignia to appear on the other girl's body. Anyone particularly sensitive to the forces of magic would recognize this as a peculiar skill like no other. However, considering that the Heretic class was only newly discovered, it was very unlikely that anyone would know the skill's roots in dark magic. Nevertheless, the skill itself did not utilize the corrupted element Miasma, so the girl would be safe. "May I know your name, as you now know mine?"
Oxford brought up the idea of performing the mission rather loud and decisive, compared to stealthing the operation. It did have its merits, but they would really need to take out the guards over watch first if they really wanted to do that. Ultimately then, the mission practically needed to have a stealth factor in the beginning or else the entire bandit force would be notified before long. In terms of the two ideas, they had Blue who really didn't mind what the plan was. Bailin seemed fine with stealth but was ready to switch to Plan B whenever it was necessary. Nostrocatus was in a similar position but he seemed as though he would enjoy it if Plan B actually happened. The red-haired girl of Aeryn brought up a good strategy to combine both plans together into one, and the pink-haired contact agreed. Not to mention, she came prepared with a number of potions for each member. Midori was impressed.
It would seem as though they had a couple of options prepared in mind. "At the moment, there are two good opening moves." During her investigation of the area, the co-leaders had found two crevices where the wall had been sufficiently weakened. There were holes small enough to duck or crawl through, which would then lead upward into their respective towers. After explaining the details of what they were supposed to look out for, Midori concluded that plan's description. "Thus, you can safely infiltrate the towers and take out the guards without attracting much attention." There was the other, more daring strategy, but she felt as though the glasses-wearing man would have been better suited to explain the idea since he did discover some more information regarding the bandits' shift schedules.

Ox let out a yawn, tired from not being able to sleep on the hard, uncomfortable ground when he had done his voluntary scouting shift. He stretched his arms from side to side, then placed his hands on his hips as he leaned backwards, countless pops emanating from his joints as he rid himself of all the annoying cricks in his aching bones as the second-in-command from Apocrypha went over communication details with the pink-haired woman from his guild, and then relayed the two infiltration options to the group as a whole. Ox had started moving his head around to get rid of the kinks in his neck before he realized he was the center of everyone’s attention. With a loud pop, Ox recomposed himself, flipping through the pages in his notes to find his scribbles on the times and durations of the outside guards’ patrols.
With a small glasses adjustment, Ox cleared his throat and began to relay his findings. “Their patrols aren’t very detailed, just 4 guys wandering around the upper battlements of the castle. Time it right, and you could possibly walk through the gate. However, the gate is guarded by a couple unsavory characters, so walking through the front door isn’t a viable option (Duh).” He licked his fingers to get a hold of the page, flipping it to the next page of patrol shifts. A blank page stared back at him, Oxford shutting his notebook with a loud snap as he tucked it away. “That’s all I’ve got. Not a big patrol team, but enough to give you trouble if you’re spotted.”The fact that there weren’t very many guards stationed in the immediate area worried him. If there aren’t a lot outside, then the rest are probably inside. After all, they’re holding a couple high-leveled guild leaders hostage, so a lot of them were probably inside, making sure that they didn’t bust free when nobody was looking. “So, like Midori said, there’s two main options. Choose wisely.”The past couple of days had made him into a tired man (who didn’t really feel like giving great big, somewhat inspirational battle time speeches at the moment), moving to sit on a big boulder to the side. The guild members were smart, so he trusted that they all could come to a conclusion as to what tactic they would use. As he sat on the rock, staring lazily at the ground, he could feel his eyelids getting heavier and heavier until sleep finally took him.************* The doctor’s eyes opened suddenly, taking an upright sitting position so quickly that he startled the nurse who was looking after him. A jolting pain ripped through his head, causing him to flinch and raise his hand over his forehead as if that would help stop the pain. The familiar texture of a cloth bandage could be felt, wrapped around his head tightly. Red stained his fingers as he pulled them back, Dr. Ox feeling dizzy and light-headed the longer he examined the blood on his digits. With a shaky hand, he gripped the side rail of his cot, using it to support him before promptly crumpling onto the ground. All of a sudden, the door opened, a female nurse standing over him as she looked down with an expression of worry on her face. “Doctor! What are you doing, you need to rest!” she said as she kneeled down to help him up. However, her hands stopped just before touching him, Dr. Ox looking up at her only to find her faced locked in fear as she stared at something beyond him. He turned his head slowly, ever so slowly, to find himself staring at the thing that attacked him from before. A low growl could be heard from it before it began to scuttle towards him.A large laser blast, from out of nowhere, appeared and disintegrated the scuttling creature into a charred mess of black ooze. A nasty stench filled the room, a pink-haired cyborg lady walking in with a smoking death ray, the death ray protruding from a socket in the arm. Dr. Ox just stared at this marvel of technology, words coming to his head, but getting lost on the way to his mouth. Instead, the only thing he managed to blurt out was “WHAT HAS SCIENCE DONE?” before losing consciousness again.(OOC Note: Yeah, not the best post of mine. Between homework and finals, I'm beat, so hopefully this will do.) |
