Tagged: Saskia @eleri_ Avalon Wc: 2056 NOTES: Hi guys, thanks for showing an interest. I'll leave it up to you to decide why or how you decided to join. You are free to rp that Zyrune informed you of his first death and wanting to kill the beast.
Invite Anyone who you think will be interested. Keep in mind they need to be able to take on a level 40 Monster.
Also I edited the parts that were previously mentioned in an old post to fit this scenario.
| Surround by dense forest illuminated by the bright moon hanging in the clear night sky, the party of six readied themselves. Before them stood a level forty Amaterasu. It stood snarling at them, it was massive, radiant white accented with strikes of yellow and red marked it's body and yet it couldn't have been a worse sight. They were trapped.
The druid had five other adventurers of mixed levels had decided to leave and explore the surrounded area, the moon dance forest just happened to fall into their path without them really knowing. Not many seemed to want to leave the safety of Londinium at least not yet anyway and the five adventurers were determined to learn, determined to find a way home or find more about what was to become their new home. How were going to leave this place if no one ventured out and explore and how would they learn about the world hiding away in a city.
"Aye, this is going to be good!" Smirked the level 35 guardian who went by the name of Albion. He was the leader of the party, the tank and the highest level player they had. The beast just seemed to stand before them glaring at them. The druid's heart pounded against his chest as he took in the monster with wide frightened eyes standing before them. The sex adventurers had lost their way, the darkness had come down on the area fast and before they knew it they had been backed into a dead end, a high facing wall behind them and the Amaterasu standing in front of them snarling in their direction.
There was no other way around it, there was only one path and the beast was clearly not going to let them pass unharmed. Zyrune's heart pounded against his chest as he took in the monster before him. It was giant and angry and looked more prepared to fight then they did. Although Albion boasted a high defense, the half alv knew that the beast was still five levels higher than him, it would pack more of a punch than he would anyway. "Don't get cocky!" The musical voice of the parties sorcerer called out from behind the druid. Cashmere, a level 27 sorcerer, the next highest adventurer, she was quite opposite to Albion in that she liked to observe and make calculated moves which contrasted grately to the guardian's hack, slash and think later method of dealing with things.
The other members of the party were low levels like himself, Cherrybomb a low level cleric, Domtash and Stashurai, two samurai class adventurers. It was a pity but they hadn't really gotten to know each other much since they left town, having been under constant attack since the forest became a maze. The druid's heart jumped as the guardian charged forward until he was within range before activating anchor howl. "NOW!" Roared the guardian as he swung his weapon forwards. It made sense, there was no way Zyrune, Cherrybomb, Domtash and Stashurai would last one maybe two attacks from the beast, so drawing the agro was critical here.
Behind him the area lit up in a hue of blue before a large bolt of lightening flew past him, striking the beast head on. Behind them Cherrybomb screamed and the druid barely had time to turn as he saw a the Domtash's blade make contact with the a rouge Savage Sycamore that had targeted their cleric, luckily the samurai had managed to interrupt it. "Shit." The sorcerer muttered as her staff illuminated once more striking the Amaterasu as it lay siege to Albion with fire.
Inhaling sharply the druid cast his healing spell on the tank, knowing that Albion, Cashmere and himself would need to deal with the Amaterasu and hope that the other three could keep the Savage Sycamore busy in the meantime. It wasn't the best strategy but it had worked for them so far. Laying siege to the strongest beast while the other three kept lesser levels busy if not defeating them altogether. The two samurai's were fast and knew how to move, Cherrybomb was equally skilled in healing spells, quick to repair damage or negate the effects of debuffs.
As Anchor Howl wore off, Zyrune's eyes widened as the monster swiped at Albion with a speed unmatched by anything he had witnessed before, quickly the guardian deflected it but was sent sliding across the ground. Without hesitation he turned over quickly and got back to his feet. "Is that really all you've got?"
Gripping his staff, Zyrune used Cure Bloom on the adventurer while Jazmine kept the beast occupied with a barrage of attacks. Charging forward Albion got into another few attacks before being sent flying backwards once more, this time he struggled to get back to his feet. Zyrune's healing abilities were not the best and Albion's health was taking too much damage. Each attack took significant damage.
Despite their attacks, the monster only grew more powerful and more angry, each attack while taking down his hp seemed to drive up his attack power. He shook his head before casting another cure bloom. A scream to his right caught his attention as he watched Cherrybomb be sent backwards, her body hitting the ground with a shuddering lifelessness. The druid's eyes widened, the face of a demon stood grinning, it's hammer covered in the cleric's blood. It must have been drawn by the combat being naturally aggressive. cherrybomb stood no chance against it. It tore her apart within seconds before turning to deal with Domotash and Stashurai, overwhelmed and without the healer the two fell quickly. "Run!" The sorcerer screamed casting a barrier spike in the Oni's direction.
Zyrune watched as Albion struggled to stand. The beast was nearly on top of him now, he didn't stand a chance. "HEAVY ANCHOR!" He yelled much to Zyrune's surprise. Immediately Zyrune understood. He didn't stand a chance if he ran, the beast was already on top of him, the oni and sycamore would swarm him.
However he could give Zyrune and Cashmere a chance by forcing the enemies to deal with him. Quickly the two turned and took off into the forest, wincing at the noise of metal against metal that erupted behind them. They managed to run for a few minutes before a flash off white erupted before them snarling, stopping them in their tracks. It took but a moment for the beast to deal with the sorcerer, the scream she let out muffled as tossed her lifeless avatar aside, the druid watching in horror as it prepared to attack him.
The pain was sharp and sudden and yet it didn't last. For a moment there was nothing, he didn't know how to describe it, he was conscious and yet unconscious, this too didn't seem to last.
Darkness soon surrounded him, except for the light of bright overbearing moon. Inhaling, it took him a moment before he realized he was standing, in a hallway to be precise. The moon illuminated the area from outside and yet something seemed odd. Drawing him forward, pulling at him, he tried to move and yet he couldn't. He struggled, to move, to breathe, to do anything as if the world itself pressed down heavily on him. Then he saw him.
He stood at the end of the hallway, the druid could see his eyes shine under the moon's light for a moment before he stood with his back to Zyrune. Slowly he moved towards him, but the half-alv felt sluggish, weighed down, it took ages to drag his feet forward, step by step, inch by miserable inch, the pink haired druid knew he needed to talk to him.
As he drew closer, the boy's details slowly revealed themselves under the moonlight. He wore a school uniform, but it was tattered and torn, his arms and legs were covered in wounds. Even so, he seemed to stand with such purpose, such inner strength, in pulled at Zyrune until finally he stood close enough to touch him. Extending his hand, he tapped the figure's shoulder. The body turned, blood streaked tears ran down his face.
The druid found himself was caught for words, he couldn't speak, he couldn't move, he couldn't do anything but stare at his own frightening mirror image. However something moved, further down the hallway, spectral forms seemed to drift. He hadn't noticed them at first and sometimes they didn't seem to be visible at all and yet the moon's light seemed to shine through them as if they were veils of transparency, wisps of shadows. The druid had never seen anything like them at all and yet he knew at once they were not something to trust, full of malice and dread.
As if noticing the two for the first time if you could call it that, the forms poured down the hallway towards them. The druid went to run but a hand on his arm stopped him. His mirror self stared helpless into his eyes for a moment before the shadows enveloped his form in a transparent shiver that moved as if it was alive, Zyrune watched horrified as the light vanished from his mirror self's eyes and the hand that clutched his so desperately just slumped to his side. The veils consuming his light or so the druid presumed.
A gust of air blew through the hallway and the light of the moon seemed to fade, slowly with each passing second darkness would consume the area, himself included. Swallowing he close his eyes waiting for it to be over.
It wasn't long before darkness slowly faded into light and Zyrune felt a warm light move towards him, embrace him or was he moving towards it, embracing it? He blinked, he remembered something and then in an instant it was gone, like when you know you were thinking of something but can't for the life of you recall what that thing was. Slowly opening his eyes. There before him was a confusion of light and color, movement and shadow; he blinked, and his surroundings gradually began to slide into focus. He blinked again and his eyes adjusted to the light. He lay on his back glancing up at the cathedral ceiling.
That was a year previous, his first death at the hand of a beast and his own ignorance to the dangers of the world. Swallowing he breathed a sigh of relief as he put the thoughts of the dream away. It was a horrifying experience, seeing himself covered in scars and wounds of his struggle only to stand with such strength having lasted, having fought his way through the physical and emotional pain only for that same strength to consumed by something he did not understand, but something that he feared more than anything.
However as they reached the edge of the Moon Dance Forest, he stopped himself. Part of the reason he had come back was to prove himself, prove that he wasn't the foolish young adventurer that had so boldly gotten himself killed. To prove that he wasn't weak and that no matter how many obstacles he faced, he would stand tall. He was stronger now and wiser, he had friends at his side too, friends he trusted or was beginning to. He needed to face the Amaterasu again, he needed to kill the beast that had killed him. He needed to prove that he was strong now, that facing that horrible dream had been worth it, that everything had been worth it.
His companions had joined him, sure he had told him his reason but he was unsure if they were coming for the experience, to explore the area or for some unknown personal reason. The moon dance forest held many mysteries and secret treasures and it also held many beautiful wonders, he just hoped that they were strong enough, if not he would return to that forsaken hallway once more time since his first death.
"So how do you guys want to do this?" The druid asked to no one in particular, he was just grateful they had showed up. They had arranged to meet at the edge of the forest, near the path towards the Moon Dance village started. However they would not be taking it. |

word count;820 A few days prior from this day, her guild member Zyrune had told her an enrapturing and vivid tale of his struggles with battling with the overpowering Amateratsu. It seemed like it was a malicious and beastly creature that soundly destroyed him and his party of lower leveled adventurers. They were just too weak that year and maybe too ambitious in battling. It had caused Zyrune's first death in a Elder Tale. She'd bet after all this time that he and his comrades had learned from their mistakes, at least she hoped that they did. Avalon felt sympathetic and how it must have been humiliating being defeated so easily. The scene of his normally sparkling eyes had turned distant, dull, until the explanation came to an end. His eyes hardened and were cold. It sent her shivers of how a normally cheery comrade felt this way but the prospect of wanting revenge from the great beast like creature was not surprising. She would have wanted the same thing. To prove that she would be able to overcome her weakness that bothered her if that situation ever happened to her one day. Maybe it was because she now had more strength to help a comrade or because of the thrill of the fight, her wolffish side slightly displaying itself at that moment. But her heart skipped a beat and she felt a rush of excitement that grew. With a pause, she had chirped up and readily agreed to assist him in his endeavor. Besides, she wanted to pay it forward for him tailoring exceptionally well-made items for her. Earlier in the day, she had made sure to catch up on some beauty sleep in one of the more peaceful tavern nestled almost in the outskirts of the city. She had grown closer with the owners, people of the land and the wariness they felt for her had seemed to dissipate over time. Avalon would now easily converse with the landers and joke around as if there was no care in the world. She had never explored the places around the moon dance forestry before so she was filled heavily in anticipation and readiness for battle. Her alert eyes danced among the new environment, it wasn't that different than the forestry near the great city. Still, the rustling of the leaves and vivid hues--there was something magical about this forest. Once she had spotted the main reason why she decided to come here, she waved at from a distance and called out to her guild member, "Hey, what's up?" as she cheerily walked toward him. She went wide eyed at his supposed new armor, a very feminine with a pink bow in the front that shined amongst his clothing attire. She almost choked in laughter but hid it well but clearing her throat discreetly. It would not be wise to laugh at him at the moment. She guessed it was as expected for an idol sub class to be wearing, flashy and bold. Avalon couldn't put it past him for doing so. Besides Zyrune, there was two adventurers in his company tagging along. There was the beautiful pink chevalier, as she liked to call her looking as elegant as ever. Her stead Icarus was loyally always with her and she was sure they formed a close bond that couldn't be replaced by anyone else. She considered changing her sub class to that of an animal trainer since she did adore animals and riding horses made her feel a bit uncomfortable. She was thinking of domesticating a monster and training it enough to be a second attacker and possibly used as a distraction so she could shoot her arrows easier when they were not looking hopefully. "Saskia, feels like it's been a while girl. How you been?" she greeted her with a toothy grin in friendship. A slim and pale young man was also in the party, he almost seemed angelic with his boyish and light figure that almost seemed to glow in the forest. He was of a fox tail race and adorably bushy tails waving around in the back. From what she saw, he was a sorcerer, a Mage type class. He seemed pleasant enough so she didn't feel nervous around him, hopefully. Being the ice-breaker, she cocked her head slightly and walked up to him. "Hi, nice to meet you. I'm Avalon but you can just call me Ava if you want," she said to the fox like adventurer. Zyrune went on to ask her and others how they wanted to tackle the battle. With a short hum in thought, she decided to speak up. "Well, I know that Saskia is a tank so she would be in the front. Me, I'll be more in the back since I'm using long ranged weaponry," and turned to the two male adventurers, "How about you guys? What's your style?" asking in curiosity. "Any treasure you obtain without ever having to work for it is no treasure at all."
|
Dressed in his battle raiment, Jacoben felt very nervous being here, his single visible tail swaying in agitation behind him, it's silvery fur complimenting the varying shades of the Monochromatic Battle Robes. This was the first time that he had headed out on an expedition like this, and he had been rather shocked to have been invited by Zyrune. Even more shocking had been his acceptance of the request to come, it wasn't in his nature to explore this far out or go against enemies this strong but for some reason he had chosen to come along.
Part of it was certainly the fact that Zyrune had asked him, and he considered the Druid his friend which meant he was willing to do a lot to help him out. But another part of it was the slowly growing desire to explore, to challenge himself, to become stronger. It seemed as he levelled he felt the urge to out into the world more and more, and if he stopped to think about it then it might be an interesting phenomenon worth examining in further details. Of course, he was far too focused on the anxiety that was building up with every moment as they got closer to the objective of this little trip.
The Sorcerer wasn't exactly certain how he felt about this being a quest for revenge or whatever similar emotion led Zyrune here, but it was hard to turn down someone who he called a friend so he had gathered supplies and followed the older male out to the edge of the Forest quietly. While they waited for the others to gather he double checked his action bars, going over the layout and cooldowns of his spells so he would be able to maximise the DPS he was capable of putting out. He didn't want to be the one to bring the rest of the party down, and so was determined to pull his own weight.
It wasn't until he was approached by the first of the others that Zyrune had asked to come along that he looked up from his self-appointed task, his tail curling slightly as his ears fell forward in a nervous gesture that he couldn't prevent. "Ah...hello Miss Ava, nice to meet you," came the Foxtail's response, folding his hands into the sleeves of his robes to hide how much he wanted to fiddle with something as a distraction from his anxiety, "my name is Jacoben." And that was the extent of his ability to socialise at this point, the combination of new people and a new experience rendering him practically tongue tied for the time being.
As the talk turned to planning he forced himself to speak, if they were going to work as a group and function effectively they needed to know what the best way to utilise each party member was. "Uhm...I'm probably best at mid to close range, I need to be within 2 meters maximum to be able to use my weapons while waiting for cooldowns to end. I also work best while stationary at the moment, my Robust Battery ability increases my spells' power but limits me to a circle of 1 meter in radius to be effective.... I don't know exactly what the best place for me would be, this is the first large party quest I've been on..." he trailed off at the end, looking away to avoid any potential scorn.

Post by Darko Lipowitz on Feb 27, 2015 22:04:29 GMT
It was night in the Moon Dance Forest as Darko found himself trudging down the thick bunch of trees one day. The day landscape of the area was brilliant as it was, but it seemed that the true beauty of the place could better be found at night. The eerie lights from every spirit - no, spirit mob should be the better term - casting some radiance on the dazzling flowers and beautiful outgrowth of trees made the landscape such a beautiful sight to see at night. For every element there was in this world, there were also spirits radiating that sort of element wherever they were haunting. And those essences of the elements were the reason why the lights around them were colored in almost every part of the spectrum, shedding their light on the trees and also dyeing them in different colors. But that also was the exact same reason the landers were afraid to pass through this land, since the greater the radiance was, the greater the power of the spirit was, and the easier it would kill any lander passing its way. The Nogitsune he battled earlier was strong and aggressive, but there might be other creatures here stronger than that beast that he battled earlier with a guardian. And so he stayed focused while trudging down the beatdown path back to the village.
And that was when he saw a radiant light emanating right in front of him, a yellowish light even more brilliant than the surrounding lights in the forest. That should mean that not only that the monster being battled was a very strong one, it was also very near him. Interested in watching how another creature fight, he then moved towards the light, and there he saw a horrible outcome. Fortunately they were adventurers in the way they vanished from the scene when they died, but it was truly horrific indeed. The spirit was just manhandling the team of adventurers as it was wreaking havoc all around the place, its hammer dripping with blood from the unfortunate. When the hammer swung, death came with it, and, with the radiance coming from its body, the act was more befitting of an angry god than anything else. He saw that the adventurers had no hope escaping the situation, and he was willing to help them. But there was a problem, two for that matter. First, as he used the Evaluate skill to check on the monster, it was Level 40, way much higher than Darko's current Level of 16. If he would help, it would not make much of a difference. And secondly, in his record, most of the people fighting there were just mere douchebags and he did not care if they were killed. It would even assuage his pride in taking notice of people, since he thought that they were just mere idiots who did not know about assault planning, and the worst part is, they were proud of their idiocy. But one death was ingrained in his mind. A druid was valiantly fighting against all odds, even trying to patch up everyone else in the absence of the specifically idiotic and prideful cleric. He did not know yet the druid, but he was doing a great job maintaining everyone's health. But a strong healer was useless in front of an enemy that could one-hit players with one swing of the hammer. Especially when the flank-hitters were idiotic in taking the aggro for themselves even when they knew what would be the outcome. The main hitter of the group even attempted to run away from a fight even though she was not yet taking the aggro. The monster, as he saw it, was already running into red, and so, if they just executed a general strategy in taking down this creature, they might have done so. But since five of the six people were too stupid to make countermeasures, the result was a disaster, and the druid ended up overexerting his skills. But with a lot of running cooldowns, it was inevitable that he would have nothing to cast after successive spells. And so the druid died with that final swing of the hammer, the last person to die at the hands of the almighty Amaterasu.
Darko was at Level 37 when he found himself again in the Moon Dance Forest. When before he was trudging down a beaten path, now he was hopping across trees to avoid aggroing the spirits, clad in the new armor that looked like some custom tailoring of some uniform, of black and white colors. It served as his training to become more agile in the battlefield, since he had a low HP and, as such, would be difficult for him to go solo unless he would be able to dodge the attacks of the enemy. The particular action was more befitting of a ninja than a sorcerer, but since sorcerers could act like ninjas with the right choice of skills, it should not be a problem for him.
He continued hopping across trees when he saw four people moving towards somewhere. He then hopped towards the trees closer to the group of four, moving towards them without being noticed, and then he took note of every person in the party. It was at this point that he noticed that the druid, now he had known in person as Zyrune back from the skateboarding incident, was with the party. By the words that he picked up from the druid, it seemed that he still resented the loss from the monster and wanted to take revenge. Well, since Darko was Level 37 now, had updated his armor to Level 30, and had a new repertoire of skills, as well as having known the druid as a decent person, he was very willing to assist him in his revenge. The other two he have not known yet, but the other one... was it Saskia again? Now since the headmaster of the Vylbrand Academy herself joined Zyrune in his revenge, he wondered what monstrosity they expected from the Amaterasu. Well, he would find out soon, and he would also experience it.

Guardian - Cavalier - Brewer ____________________________________________________
Saskia yawned and stretched out her hands as reclined behind the desk in her office. The time seemed to stand still in her office as the Guild Headmistress was sifting through stacks of paper on her desk. In the assortment of sheets were several contracts that were being processed from Londiminum, the Sarum Frontier, and Avon Valley. There were common requests for and expedition of caverns and temples to recover lost or ancient artifacts. Others were the demand for protectorates to help escort a caravan deep through the windsor greatwoods or some tunnel that was infested with spiders and other weird creatures. Occasionally a few villagers and civilians would request that Artisans from the Academy help produce them some armor or furniture that they could use.
Managing all these requests was divided between herself and her boyfriend, the prominent Professor at Vylbrand Academy and Director of Education, Bailin. They assigned members of the guild and taked them out to various objectives and voyages to chart into various sectors of the world to grasp at the intel, commerce, and training the adventures would provide. There was still so much to learn about this new world and even they knew they had barely scratched the surface on the wonders that were to be unraveled in this new dimension.
While rubbing her neck and tilting her head to the side examining a few sheets, the pink haired woman recieved a Telepathy message from a familiar voice from an allied guild.
“What’s going on Zy?” Saskia beamed as she retracted back in her seat, her eyes fluttering about the empty classroom.
“Uh huh...so you’re trying to stick it to an Amaterasu. That’s over in Moon Dance Forest right?” Saskia stated as she quickly pulled out a drawer and opened a file of information she had from the Moon Dance Forest sector. It was a bestiary that she had updated upon her travels.
“Yeah, I know about them. Darko and I ran into one of the lower level ones a long time ago. Fireball attacks that hit you like heat seeking missles. They got a pretty annoying heal ability, too.” Saskia informed as she tossed the file on the desk.
“Yeah, I don’t mind doing a bit of hunting. I’ll grab Icarus from the stables and get one of my guys. He’s a bit of a field expert. A pretty sharp scholar and sorceror. I know you got heals down. I’ll just bring the heavy hitters.” Saskia smirked as she sat back up with a grin.
“Alright, I’ll go ahead and get ready. See you soon, Zy.”
A few hours later, Saskia would appear on her brilliant white steed, Icarus wearing her Valkyria Empress Armor, which made her look like a beautiful goddess of war upon the battlefield. The beautiful pink Phoenix feathers rifted elegantly down her left leg. The armor was encrusted in exquisite silver and gold as the chasis of the breastplate was illuminated in a radiant pink that complemented her hair. In her hand, she bore the shield of her guild, Vylbrand’s Aegis, as the emblem of her faction shined brilliantly in gold in the light that drifted through the canopy of the forest.
In her right arm was a mystical sword, Edelweiss, a shimmering blade of gold and silver that boasted reforge effects to allow 15% of any damage she dealt to a target to be absorbed and heal the user who wielded it. In the hands of a tank, it was one of her greatest assets and made her quite the stalwart chevalier in the field.
Her ebony gloved hands ran her tiny fingers through her warhorses golden mane as her sapphire gems drifted down to Avalon who spoke directly to her. Saskia had offered her a gentle smile.
“Haha, it sure has! I see you’ve soared through the roof these past few weeks. It’s nice to see you again. We should hit up the bar and grab some drinks after we deal with this beast, yeah?” Saskia smirked. “So I see you’re rolling with House of Crowns, now? One of Saber’s elites I bet. Well, glad you got to be one of our allies. Be on the look out for more joint op missions between HoC and Vylbrand!”
Saskia turned her gaze to Zyrune.
“Well, don’t you look lovely. You’re just trying to steal all the guys away from me aren’t you? Haha, work it, Zy!” Saskia teased with feminine coo.
Her wolf ears twitched slightly to the voice of another who seemed to be acquainted with Zyrune and Avalon.
“Well, aren’t you Miss Popular” Saskia winked at Avalon before addressing the Fox Tail who called himself Jacoben.
“Wow, you have really cute eyes.” Saskia stated in awe as her head bounced back in forth between them. “Nice, to meet you Jacoben. I’m Saskia Steelheart. One of the Guild Leaders for Vylbrand Academy. I see you know Zyrune and Avalon from our allied guild. It’s a peasure to meet you.”
Saskia smiled as she heard them discuss how they felt things should go.
“Hmm, well it’s already a given that I’m taken the beast head on. Yay for being the token meat shield, right? I’m just glad I brought my burn creams. “ Saskia chuckled in a masochist’s laughter. “ I also took a couple of items from the academy storage that should help us out if needed. A couple of potions, herbs, and other lovely things that will make our time in the field a hell of a lot easier. “ Saskia mentioned as she double tapped the satchel that was attached to her mount.
“If you guys need a mana potion or anything, just holler and I’ll toss it to you.”
“My friend Darko and I had a little rumble in the jungle with Amaterasu before. Though ours was a little guy back then in comparison. It just had a fire spell and a janky heal that sometimes complicates things. Best advice I would give is that if you have stuns or anything that can interrupt spells, save it for when it tries to heal. I got a shield bash ability that interrupts skills, but that’s pretty much it in regards to interruptions.”
“Heals shouldn’t be much of problem as long as I maintain aggro. My sword heals me for a bit of the damage I deal, so that always comes in handy, I guess.” Saskia chuckled.
Her level had already been synced to level 55 for the restrictions implied by the quest for the beast to be lured out.

Tagged: Saskia @eleri_ Avalon Darko Lipowitz Wc: 1587 NOTES: Hi guys feel free to rp monsters and that. I want to give about 2 more rounds or so before we run into the main event.
Sakia feel free to take us in or I will do it in the next post. Also please keep an eye on enemy's health, making sure to note how much damage at the end of each post. | There was no doubt about it, they were actually going to try and attempt this. The druid took a moment to admire the group that had assembled before him. Firstly there was a new friend of his and even newer member of his guild House Of Crowns, Avalon. The woman was friendly and honest and of course being from the same guild as him meant that Saber had personally invited her into the fold, that being said any person Saber deemed worthy of his time and respect, meant twice that for the druid.
The two had originally gotten to know each other when the assassin wanted Zyrune to craft some items for her. During their time, they build up a rapport, even somehow falling together during a quest to the Miasma realm which had been very exciting. So when several guild members had gathered to swap some stories, he had been pleasantly surprised to see her present. After a short reintroduction, the druid listened to some stories from fellow guild members before deciding to get something off his chest, that was how Avalon had first heard his story and eventually decided to join him on this quest, a quest for honor the druid had begun to call it.
The assassin surprisingly, seemed to sympathize with him a considerable amount. She understood how the pink haired half alv wanted to prove that he was able to overcome his weaknesses and prove that he had grown. Rather than start a serious conversation, he simply gave her a wink as he turned his attention to another member of their party.
Jacoben, level 40 Sorcerer and a darn cute fox tail, the only problem was that he happened to be going out with the druid's ex partner and friend. The entire thing had only happened recently and it hadn't been exactly the smoothest of things that had happened to the druid, but he was managing the best he could. Due to events that had happened, Zyrune and Jacoben had met in a small tavern to clear the air and more importantly for the half alv to apologize for being an attention seeking ass. However one thing led to another and eventually the two ended up bonding over several different topics, eventually deciding to try and become friends.
Although the two had managed so far not to bring up the constant elephant in the room which was Tadashi the lander who held the handsome fox tail's heart, however somehow he knew eventually the lander would be mentioned or show up during one of their meet ups, it was only a matter of time. However as dual eyed furry stood checking his gear, Zyrune couldn't help but wonder if he was going to be okay. It meant a considerable amount to him that he had decided to come along and help him. Any doubts he had about the fox tail wanted to be his friend were definitely thrown out the window.
However it wasn't going to be easy, the druid knew that, plus it wasn't exactly fun knowing that if anything happened to the fox tail, that Tadashi would come down on the fast and hard and more than anything, he didn't want that. Giving the fox tail a nod of acknowledgement, he knew that would need to keep an eye on him, he was shy and quiet, even more so around knew people, so it was going to be interesting to see him interact with the party, even more interesting to see him in combat, something Zyrune had so far been unable to see.
The last to join them happened to be the impressive cotton candy haired Vylband Academy Guild Leader Saskia. This was no surprise, the Academy and House Of Crowns went way back, not only that by so did Saskia and Zyrune. Somehow or another the two seemingly had a knack for finding trouble, or trouble finding them. The two had first met on a random cavern clear out quest, the group had 'accidentally' managed to become sealed within it and had to fight their way out, a few months later and the two found themselves once again side by side against the challenges of the Temple Of Tides.
It seemed only fitting that she had the option to come along for this, plus the druid didn't know of any stronger guardian around Londinium. He had contacted her directly via the telepathy option of the interface. Normally he liked to make requests in person, but Saskia was always deep in something or another and usually impossible to track down, so it seemed like she wouldn't mind the call. A few hours later and here they stood, well Zyrune stood and Saskia sat upon her trusted steed.
The druid couldn't help but blush as the woman seemed to be completely at ease, even around new companions such as Jacoben, however she seemed to already have some background with Avalon. However he had blushed at her open comment on his attire. True it was a more outlandish outfit than most, but he liked the design, it was flashy reminded him of a magical girl like those anime he loved, not mention how cute it made him look, however the tails of his outfit had been designed in somewhat in awe of Jacoben, but he wasn't going to let anyone know that.
Instead he decided to nod in her direction too, choosing to ignore the odd looks he seemed to be getting from all around him, and instead tried not to blush too much. If only it was as true as she made it out to be, then maybe he wouldn't have spent the past few weeks buried beneath piles fabric on evenings he normally met with Tadashi to explore Londinium.
As eventually checked over their gear and somehow worked out their roles and formation, another joined them, or at least that was what Zyrune was presuming. It was another sorcerer, not as strong as Jacoben and not as cute as him, but he shared the same werid fashion taste that Zyrune did. His name was Darko and Zyrune recognized him, despite it being several months since they had last crossed back when that foolish assassin Eniko had crashed that darn skateboard. However he kept his distance, which was quite odd but nevertheless he was free to do as he wished.
Taking a deep breath, he cleared his throat to attracted their attention, his cheeks turning pink slightly, though he doubted they were as pink as his bow. "I'm very grateful for you guys coming along today, it really means a lot to me and I want you to know before we begin, that I am in your debt." Exhaling his breath, he gave a nod of affirmation before throwing his hand out gesturing to the dense forest that stood behind him. "The Moon Dance Forest, a strange and mysterious area with even strange monsters hiding within, our target today is none other than the Amateratsu." He paused, taking the moment to observe everyones reactions, hoping that he wasn't making a fool of himself.
"According to the inhabitants of the small village near the center, the enemies have grown more vicious and cunning as of late, our job is seek out any monsters that might pose a threat, the main being the Amateratsu, fast impressive and frightening monsters." He couldn't help but chuckle. "I know the chances of finding the one that killed me over a year ago still alive is very slim, but there are other beasts of the same still roaming around causing havoc due to the lack of adventures willing to slay them and other creatures that may pose a threat." Another pause to check on the fox tail before swallowing. "be warned, most of the monsters in this place are aggressive, watch your step and be on the look out." Equipping his baton style weapon that had been specifically crafted for him to increase the potency of his spells, held his hand out to Saskia. "With the briefing out of the way, I shall leave the rest our resident tank, Saskia." He couldn't help but blush as the attention remained focused on him, but it couldn't be helped.
"Let's get this show on the road!" He gave a smile as he held his hand out towards the ground before him. His hand glowed a soft pink hue and the ground before him erupted in vines that twisted until they formed a beautiful large pink flower bud, eventually the flower bloomed to reveal a female. The druid couldn't help but smile as the gentle and fun loving Alraune summon, Sakura stretched before coming to stand beside him. Sakura was very impressive looking and had come a long way from the toddle sized bud creature that he had first been able to summon. The current visible form was a young lady wearing a long, poofy pink dress that resembles layered blossoms, white hair with corkscrew pigtails, pink flower bracelets, pink flower earrings and a flower pattern on her forehead and her chest.
Readying himself, Zyrune made a mental note to stay close to the fox tail at all times, maybe it would be best to even have Sakura stay near him. As they prepared to begin, Zyrune cast a lingering glance towards the lonely sorcerer Darko, wondering if he was coming along or not. Shrugging he sent each of the group a party invitation including Darko before turning to follow Saskia.

notes: I spawned two Nogitsune! Nogitsune [side]- 40/100% Nogitsune [front]- 100/100% | It was a cool and breezy night, swaying of trees and rustling of leaves could be heard though not seen by the eye. The cimmerian obscurity night stained most of the luminous daylight. Myriad of stars littered the darkened canopy basking in all it’s glory and sheer number. The crescent moon was a beckon and spotlight displaying it’s lonely self as if trying the outshine the other embellishments of the sky but to no avail, could not compare. What little luminescence the sky provided, gave only glimmer of a light to travelers walking along in the forestry. The Moon Dance Forest. A fascinating mystery for Avalon, her hearing aptitude only enhanced her hearing abilities but the imagery brought was hers alone and to stay. With a metronome steady heartbeat, she had been greeted by the familiar and unfamiliar faces that were also invited or invited themselves into the fold to defeat the monstrousness of the giant fox of a beast, tales of awe and foreboding adventurers who have risked their lives to defeat the high leveled Amaterasu. For her, this would be a breath-taking and adrenaline adventure that she would relish in satisfaction. Even though her sub class wasn’t of a hunter anymore, she had the mentality of a hunter—the beast creature was her prey.
Since she and the druid had become comrades, acquaintances, and now friends, she spent some time conversing with him comradely manner and traded stories. They both had their tales of trials and tribulations but his—it was more enrapturing. The desperation displayed in his glossy eyes and determination filled tone of voice. It was enough for her to be impressed. She shared the desire to prove herself and overcome mountains of adversity. For her, she considered it revenge and prove one’s self-worth. Another opportunity for a fight. Besides, that was all she knew. Being honorable and chivalry just wasn’t her thing. More in a grey area of the spectrum. Self-preservation was very important to her. But she did have her moments of saving others since she did care about others if they protected her as well. If it was advantageous for her, she would help in any way she could. She had greeted Zyrune in a debonair manner, amber flecks shimmering in the moonlight that extenuate her feral side of her race. It gave her more of a look of a foxy woman out in the forest to do some trickery antics than her true race of wolf hair. The pink haired though handsome druid just winked with his continuously sparkling violet colored eyes of his. Knowing that he had to greet the others as well, she fondly waved him off and she walked off cheerily.
Avalon had approached the friendly fuchsia colored pink chevalier donning a spectacle of elegance shining majestically in the moonlight sonata. The lustrous silvery plated armor showed accents of gold brilliance with honeyed silver long sword with intricate designs embedded in the middle. She resembled a majestic war goddess, resolute and ready for the prospect of battle. Her stead named Icarus with his golden locks of hair now looked in it’s optimum prime and combat ready. It was an awe inspiring sight to behold. She hoped that with relentless level grinding and continuous fights, she would close that measurable distance. The last time she had seen her was when she went on another dangerous quest in the darkened quarry caverns and it had been quite emotional draining that day. Her former guild master had left suddenly and it had dug up nostalgic memories of her broken family, abandonment issues left untouched and unexpectedly brought in bad timing. But leveling up and meeting new comrades recently, she was eventually recruited by the mysterious and combat oriented guild master, It was an unexpected but a welcome development and thus, she had regained her determination, confidence, and most of all—a new family she could trust and have her back. She wasn’t the lost and emotional girl she was before.
The pink haired guardian complimented her on how her levels soared high in a short period of time. Avalon had to admit, she actually never noticed how much battling those beast monsters would earn her enough experience to advance her this far. When she did notice this development, she became proud of her accomplishment. Saskia also mentioned going out drinking some beers at a bar after finishing up the defeat of Amaterasu. Avalon wouldn’t mind some drinks to relax their wary and tired bodies and getting chummy with each other. “I guess my levels did skyrocket. Been busy defeating those nasty beasts any chance I got,” she grinned while scratching her head slightly and with her mouth curved upward, “I wouldn’t mind getting buzzed, it’s been a long time,” in a shimmer of mischievousness plastered on her face. She continued chirping up, “I bet I can outdrink you! If you don’t cheat using that detox thing of yours,” while giggling at that thought. Then the fuchsia haired guardian cheerily mentioned about her now being in the House of Crowns and one of the elites in there and she replied with a light shrug, “Nah, I wish!” and a light-hearted beaming smile, “But I’m looking forward to those joint op missions though.”
Avalon had turned her attention to the dove white haired young man who looked somewhat nervous with the recognizable behavior of a canine. Tails lowered and ears pulled forward in a slight manner. She had a moment of nostalgia when her eyes caught the sight of him fiddling with his sleeve. Those days when she was filled with overwhelming anxiousness, not knowing and sometimes scared of the prospect of meeting others. It had been months since she had displayed such nervous ticks before and she learned to overcome those from experiences that developed her confidence to shine brightly. It was only right to greet such a person she could relate herself with. “Oh you don’t have to call me Miss. That makes me sound older than I look,” she replied in comforting tone of voice and continued in kind, “But once again, it’s nice to meet you Jacoben. You’re sort of beautiful,” cocking her head to the side in a smile. She couldn’t help but think he looked like an angelic being with dove white locks of hair and pale skin, an adorable boyish face that made her want to just give him a comforting hug. His heterochromatic adoring eyes were a rare sight. The ultramarine and golden eyes were an elegance of twins and were mesmerizing.
Little Miss Popular? What did Saskia mean be calling her that? Avalon was slow on the uptake and put her palm to her face in realization of why she called her that. Shaking her head swiftly and focusing her eyes on the pink haired chevalier, “Aren’t you the little miss popular?” with a glimmer of mischievousness and a knowing look. She had heard about Saskia and the warden named Bailin who she went on a dangerous mission with, they were in a relationship and seemed to be going steady according to some rumors in the House of Crowns guild. It was inevitable that they would find out especially that her own guild master was a professor there most likely battle orientated. She was sure he was strict on them and imagined him intimidating some of the Vylbrand Academy guild members without even trying. She wondered how their guild system worked with the name academy in it, it seemed more like schooling than a guild and heard from lingering rumors they had their own uniforms so a joint mission would be a good choice to find out if that were true.
She had began to converse about party formation so they had some idea of where to place everyone in an orderly manner. Things may change during combat but an arrangement would be paramount to winning a battle so as to prevent the possibility of friendly fire from anyone in the party. Surprisingly, it was the white haired young man who initiated the continuing of the plan. Jacoben went on to explain that he had to be at least two meters in order to use his weapon and had an ability that would increase his spell power though required for him to be stationary and only a meter radius to be effective in combat. Avalon gave him a grin of reassurance and continued stating, “Since we have two sorcerers, Darko more in the back maybe and you in the middle for now. Well, it doesn’t have to be permanent since we’ll see what works better when combat actually begins.”
Avalon’s mouth twisted upward and eyes sparkled in amusement at the obvious sarcasm the pink chevalier stated at being the meat shield of the party. It was amusing since her class was built for tanking the enemy and it seemed that she would be exasperated in that thought. Saskia continued mentioning that she had brought creams, potions, and herbs that would be crucial in lasting longer and survival. There would most likely be multiple monsters lurking about in the forestry that they had to look out for besides the monstrosity of a beast they had to defeat out of the druid’s revenge. “Oh gosh, thanks for bringing those,” she replied with a grateful tone of voice. Even though they had Zyrune for healing the party, conserving his magical points and energy was needed to last longer as well. He also had a repertoire of offensive abilities so he was needed for offensive reasons, if it came down to it.
The male druid’s appealing voice, probably made so and noticeable with his sub class, signaled her rapt attention. He started by telling them that he was grateful and indebted to accompanying him in his quest to defeat the giant Amaterasu. She didn’t mind helping him out and she was indebted to him for doing exceptional well crafted tailoring for her armor and her accessories that would aid her in debuffing her enemies easier. For her, this was just another battle to be fought and won. They had almost every single class type; a warrior, a weapon specialist, healer, and a mage—a balanced team. Like she had thought earlier, he went on to explain that were going to be other monsters lurking around the Moon Dance Forest. He then reiterated that the main enemy was the monster that once defeated him long before. Amaterasu. He stated that the villagers had told him that the beast monsters had become more aggressive and cunning lately. It made her heart skip a beat with adrenaline rushing into a feral gaze of amber specks, a wolffish predator. With many constant fights, her wolf instincts during combat displayed itself in it’s glory made than usual and cooperation of a pack, working with comrades came more naturally and agreeable. She just had to prove herself that she could keep up with the higher leveled adventurers.
With a shining smile, the druid said for them to get the show on the road and agreed with him wholeheartedly. Her mouth twitched upward and eyes glimmered in anticipation at the prospect of battle, “Let’s go defeat those nasty beasts,” ending with feral golden eyes. She noticed that Zyrune had summoned a familiar, a beautiful one indeed. She resembled a feminine young lady donning a ruffled floral layered dress and accessories littered with mostly pink and floral designs. “She’s a beauty,” she commented to the druid in awe of his summon’s elegance. She began walking forward for the start of the quest. Suddenly, her hearing aptitude ability overheard heavy rustling of the multitude of leaves and the quickly charging toward their direction. Closer and closer—gaining speed quickly. “To the right guys!” she said immediately, “Zooming toward us fast. I think there’s more than one,” as she spun her bow around her fingers and lifted her Archangel bow in front of her.
She was in a combat ready stance with her body leaned slightly forward ready to shoot her arrow. She couldn’t see the monsters but she was sure there was at least two or more of beast like monsters based on how heavy the crunching of leaving were. Now they were here and growling maliciously, predators ready to kill off those in their territory. Two level 40 Nogitsune monsters ready to pounce on their target. Oh shit. One enthusiastic beast leaped up and aimed directly at Jacoben and immediately said, “Watch out!” She bent down as she gripped onto her bow tightly and used Quick Draw. It sent the arrow that would deal an increase in ranged attack damage zooming toward the target. It swiftly hit the beast as it sent it spiraling downward in a loud thump. It was not over yet. It still had some health points left in it though it prevented the monster from attacking Jacoben at that moment. The other Nogitsune was in the front growling menacingly about to pounce.

Guardian - Cavalier - Brewer ____________________________________________________
Saskia was delighted to see Zyrune fluster about as it was always pretty hilarious when she managed to catch him off guard. If she could ever want a twin, she would have wanted it to be him. With his lucious pink hair, he would have been quite the match.
The Druid gestured that he had an announcement to make to all his allies. He showed appreciation for all of their participation in this great endeavor. It seemed like this matter was more personal than business to Zyrune, unlike the tone of which was communicated on the telepathic link.
He motioned to the deep, dark denseness of the enchanted woods. The words that he spoke were true. Even though Saskia and Darko had navigated a small sector of the forest, they had barely scratched the surface of the wild mystical woodlands.
Once again, the name rang familiar in her mind. That Amaterasu was truly an annoying creature. Hopefully, they would only have to deal with one of them, rather that a pack of healing and fire-slinging jerks.
When Zyrune gave a look of uncertainty, Saskia returned an understanding nod as to hopefully help him restore some sense of confidence. According to his report, the enemies were stirring up something vicious in the brush of the Moon Dance Forest. Most of the monsters were more predatory in nature. They employed clever tactics to ambush and annihilate their opponent as they were compelled to protect their natural habitat.
Zyrune had confessed the true nature of why they were on this mission. It was because he felt butt hurt about an all too gruesome butt kicking his received from the white fox demon spirit. He should have known. You go playing with fire, you were going to get burned. Still, his resolve must have been huge to even still remember that incident from a year ago.
Saskia nodded in agreement about the part concerning how many adventures didn’t seem to be able to muster the courage to delve into the deeper parts on the woods. Most of the time the Moon Dance Forest was a bit of a ghost town as there were only a few people in the server that can even survive the woodland maze. Even Saskia felt that the idea of traveling the area alone would be unwise.
She could tell he was beginning to come to a close when he implored them to keep safety in mind and then designated her as the squad leader.
“Heh, well I hope you’re excited about all this, Jacoben.” She smiled at the white haired fox tail. “It looks like we’ll be paying your cousins a visit...” She snickered lightly as she thought how the white fox demon spirit and the ash haired fox tail held similar qualities. “It takes a special type of man to hunt down his cousins...I don’t think I could do it.”
She noticed that Zyrune seemed to be slightly acquainted with everyone one that was around him.
“You actually already know all these guys?” She blinked just before shooting a wicked grin at him. “Geez, you must really get around...” She winked promiscuously, then licked her bottom lip after her mischievous banter. She then noticed that Zyrune seemed to be summoning....something.
Whatever it was, the creature was being unraveled in a plethora of deep vines that twined around each other until they formed a beautiful floral cocoon that gave birth to a elegant mistress that stretched into life. Fortunately she came with clothing included or else that would have been quite the sight to see as the child of the forest emerged from her deep slumber, adorned in a pretty pink dress. Her hair was as white as marshmellows and her smile as warm as the gentle campfire that brought friends together.
Her master then looked around at everyone and then sent out friend requests before aligning himself next to the other Magi.
“Oh, great, that leaves only me fighting in the front while the rest of you are in the rear with the qu-...” Saskia paused before snickering lightly to herself, before shifting her words around. “...gear! This should be fun. Just try not to singe me with a fireball or shoot an arrow in my badonkadonk and everything will be good to go.” Saskia chuckled as her horse whined lightly then sniffed roughly. His chocolate eyes falling upon the woman that Zyrune sumoned with intrigue.
Saskia heard the canine-like assassin chat about slaying demons and creatures with a fierce tenacity and then agreed to drinking off her bloodlust with a stiff drink. She seemed to have that evil underhanded grin when she called Saskia out on her detox ability.
Saskia laughed heartily. “Sweetheart, I’m a heavyweight champion when it comes to the booze. Scottish blood is mixed with about 50% Alcohol at all times. It’ll be no problem drinking a lightweight under the table!” Saskia boasted playfully. Sure, she was probably only average when it came to handling her liquor, but it was always fun to brag a bit and tell extravagant lies once in a while.
The woman laughed off any accusations of being elite and showed her interest in upcoming joint operations missions.
“Well, you definitely seem like a promising candidate. I heard from the grapevine that you guys are going to be living lavish pretty soon. Like really Lavish. I don’t get how Saber managed to get to spoil you guys like that, or even where he got the money for it. But wherever you’re living now, you better get ready for the high life!”
Saskia didn’t want to spoil the release of the Edinburgh castle prematurely, but she had to admit, even she was envious of the stronghold they would acquire in the time to come.
She listened to the Fox tail and the Wolf hair speak as Avalon politely told him that he didn’t have to refer to her as miss, because it made her sound old.
Saskia decided to add her two cents in after that comment, trotting over playfully up to Jacoben and then whispering to him, but making it within obvious earshot of those around her.
“Don’t let her fool you, Jacoben. Grandma Avy is older than she looks. Don’t let the avatar fool you. She’s secretly a seventy year old cougar from an old folks home that came here to prey on cute little boys...” Saskia said in a joking manner teasing her friend.
After the inevitable reaction from Avalon, the assassin made a comment about Saskia being popular.
“Oh, Pssh, I’m just the servers most popular meat shield. How thrilling is that? Seriously, I feel like I got the short end of the stick. It’s like.. ‘Hey Saskia! Go over there and let those guys pound on you, while we wait all the way back here and take all the glory kills. I feel like I got tricked and set up as bait. Story of my life.’
Saskia chuckled lightly as Avalon spoke about formations.
“Don’t stress. If any baddies try to come get ‘cha , Icarus and I will be there in two point five seconds to give them a little tap on the shoulder...” Saskia winked as she tapped her hefty blade, Edelweiss, on her shoulder exonerating a thick air of confidence.
After Avalon made a comment about the Guardian’s stock of goods, Saskia chuckled.
“Sorry, hun, no burn creams for you. I only brought one and Sassy’s got to keep her skin radiant or else Bailin will throw a fit.” Saskia laughed.
Saskia felt like she was warming up as the bonds between the group started to solidify and synergize with each other. The balanced team would prove effective upon the field. They would also be quite triumphant if they each played their role to the letter.
For now, Saskia focused on leading the group into the thickness of the forest. She barely had any means of true navigation, but she was certain that they would wander into their target eventually.
The rustling of tropical birds fluttered through the forest, as Icarus whined warily. Saskia couldn’t usually detect disturbances on her own, but the animals that shared an atttunement with the lands, such as Icarus, often did.
“Something’s got Icarus upset...be on your guard...” Saskia mumbled as her gaze shifted to both corners of her eyes.
Avalon was the first to discern their location. Quite a useful assassin. Saskia was sure she had a trained eye, as she was an archer that could pick targets off at a distance with ease. From what Saskia had gathered, they were being ambushed from the right by possibly more than one enemy.
“Freaking fantastic...just when I was beginning to enjoy our little stroll...” Saskia sneered as her wolf hair companion brought up a deadly looking bow.
“Oh wow, that looks pretty fierce, Avy, give ‘em hell girl!” Saskia grinned as she noticed a blur of black fog dancing through the forest.
One of the targets was hell bent on taking out the furriest of her friends, but got impaled by a volley of arrows before he had the chance to do so.
Saskia watched in awe, before her gaze caught another predator lurking in the vegetated abyss.
“Heh, well this should be fun....” Saskia smirked with a devilish grin as she setup a charge on her steed towards the Nogitsune that lied in front.
“Icarus, you’re up!” She shouted as she unhooked her feet from the slots and pushed herself of the back of the horse.
Icarus went forward in a violent stampede, as Saskia twisted around and knelt down to absorb the impact from the drop. As she noticed the resilient Nogitsune spiraling towards the archer that had aggroed it with her assault, the bloodlust and vengeful spirit was all she needed to predict what it was going to do. As it lunged at the archer, Saskia activated her [Covering] ability to swap places with the archer.
“Mind if I take this dance, Gorgeous?” She smirked as she eyed the Nogitsune that had bit the leg of her sturdy armor, his saliva drooling down the metal that adorned her ankle.
“Keep your spit to yourself!” She shouted as she held her greatshield in front of her and shifted her feet in the dirt like a wild linebacker. She burst through the Nogitsune’s offensive line with her [Siege Breaker] ability as the Guardian trambled over it in a mad rush.
“Woo! Touchdown! And we’re going to super bowl!” Saskia taunted as she pounded twice on the right side of her breastplate and flexed a bit with her sword arm. Her words slyly activating [Taunting Shout] upon the weaker Nogitsune.
Meanwhile, Icarus was already dancing with the devil on the battlefield as he pounded the Nogitsune with his hooves. Though he was a few levels weaker, this acted as a unconventional method of tanking. The war horse was Saskia’s designated off-tank. Tanking in a sense was meant to defend others in the group that were squishy in nature but were valuable assets that needed to be protected. Saskia knew that with the first strike coming fro Icarus, it would easily manipulate the aggro system to keep the rest of her party safe from harm. Worst case scenario, if Icarus ended up kicking the bucket, he could always be resummoned with 1 HP and healed back to full capacity with the assortment of items she held. She was unsure is the Druid had any methods of reviving fallen comrades, because she sure didn’t.
For what it was worth, Saskia’s trick with Icarus worked, but of course at a price as the angry Nogitsune sinked it’s teeth into the horse’s ankle with a montrous [Biting Fang] ability.
Icarus whined in agony, while trying to break free.

Post by Darko Lipowitz on Mar 8, 2015 15:16:13 GMT
Darko was continuing on watching the quartet closely when the party request from Zyrune arrived. As he saw the party request, Darko then glanced at the druid. He wondered how Zyrune managed to get his location, as he was sufficiently far away from them, not to mention the foliage covering his body. But since he had been noticed and there was no sense in hiding himself, he decided to come down from the tree from where he was monitoring the four people. He jumped towards a nearby branch with its height from the ground lower than from where he was before. He then repeated the same procedure until, finally, he landed on the ground, the white soles of his boots touching the pathway without any sound. Sighing, he then continued the journey with the four.
As they were finding the famed creature that once killed Zyrune and the idiots way way back, Darko took the liberty to inspect every person's fighting capabilities and actions. For Saskia and Zyrune, their alignment should be expected for a tank and a support respectively, but when he saw the wolf-hair's stats and skills, they seemed more fitting of an archer. He expected the wolf-hair to act as an off-tank, but since this thing was the case, he just sighed. More so after inspecting the fourth person's stats and skills, whose skills should be close to his skill set. When he summed up all these aspects, he sighed again, thinking of the expected outcome. He just had to be the off-tank and flank-hitter of the group. But since he could now bring to the table what he had learned from his solo training, it should not be a problem for him. The fighting technique was the sole reason he kept the Proximal Burst skill always toggled in active mode. He only tested it on very low-leveled creatures, and this time should be the only time he would test it in an actual battle.
And the battle went to them immediately in the form of two Nogitsune prowling towards them, especially towards the white-haired foxtail in their group. Looks like these two foxes were attracted towards their kin, maybe even thinking he was a Myobu. Darko just wryly smiled at the thought as he readied to cast the Thunderbolt Crash spell while drawing out his sword. This action should not be possible some months ago due to his motions were being locked while the casting motion was in effect, but since he had the Spellwalk skill in effect, he could move and attack even though he was moving almost in slow motion. The Nogitsune were aggressive in that they attack everything in sight, so there should be no sense avoiding them right now. He then saw the archer engage one of the Nogitsune, pulling off a skill that reduced the Nogitsune's HP to 40%. Saskia then dismounted from her horse as she engaged the Nogitsune shoved off by the attack of the assassin, and the horse in turn engaged the remaining Nogitsune. Wasting no time, Darko charged towards the Nogitsune which had more than half of its HP shaved off by the assassin and Saskia, while still casting the spell Thunderbolt Crash. Since his actions were slowed down due to the casting of the spell, his charge was somewhat slow compared to his original speed. But when the casting was finally done and the spell applied to his sword, he instantly gained speed, and even before the time the fox expected to receive his attack, Darko swung the sword at the face of the fox, the lightning enchantment showing its effect by momentarily stunning the enemy with some sparks flowing through its body, the fox writhing in pain. His initiating attack having already connected, he then started to cast the Lightning Chamber spell with his right hand so that the fox would be finished quickly. Although this could be considered as dangerous if he was far too close to the enemy while he was casting this spell, it should be all right. He had learned how to move his body effectively while he was casting, and since he and the enemy were both slowed, this should be a good trade-off. He stood his ground in a fencing stance, his sword ready to pierce the fox in frront of him if it tried to make a move against him. And move did the fox did, baring its fangs tinged red. This should be the "Biting Fang" ability of the Nogitsune, but if he would just stood his ground, not only could he hold off the burning fang of the Nogitsune, but it would also give him enough openings to execute the "Lightning Chamber" spell on this fox. He clenched his teeth as the sword thrust the face of the fox, actively maintaining the gap between then as he continued to thrust his sword. When the "Lightning Chamber" spell was finally cast, he aimed it towards the fox. A blue-purple pentagram developed at the body of the fox, and then a huge outburst of blue-purple lightning hit the fox so hard that it was instantly reduced to shard of anima after the attack. He then moved towards the fox engaging the horse, and then kicked it on his belly away from the horse. The fox, sliding down the pathway, then bared its fangs at Darko, desirous to turn him into meat.

"Any treasure you obtain without ever having to work for it is no treasure at all."
|
Jacoben stared nervously as people began coming out of the woodwork, his hands clenching at his sides as he tried to prevent panic from overwhelming him. Of course this meant that someone was going to come right up to him and start interacting with the self-conscious sorcerer, in this case it was the very high levelled woman that was apparently going to be acting as their tank and was also the head of one of the larger active Guilds since the Apocalypse. Just how did Zyrune know her? It seemed that the pink haired male really had made the most of the time he had been stuck in this world, and it made the Sorcerer feel somewhat worthless in his own endeavours.
"Uh...it's nice to meet you Miss Steelheart," was the Foxtail's response to the Guardian's introduction, his nervousness preventing him from saying anything more as the others began to interact with one another. He couldn't help adding in his own comment under his breath as Avalon and Saskia began to banter with one another, his own experiences lending an opinion on the subject of Scots and the drink. "I'm fairly sure it's more than fifty percent," he murmured to himself, not expecting anyone else to hear him the ghost of a smile graced his features.
Avalon's attention being turned back on him immediately had him try to avoid twitching, and then Saskia added to his anxiety by leaning in close and whispering loudly about the Assassin actually being an old grandmother. Not to mention being called beautiful had his face red in embarrassment even before the verbal sparring had included him in it. He had wanted to defend his use of 'Miss' as being a product of politeness but he had become so flustered with the situation that the small Sorcerer couldn't bring himself to speak, instead moving to sort of hide behind Zyrune as surreptitiously as possible.
Zyrune's impromptu speech meant that the attention of the others would be placed uncomfortably close to him, and it took all his self discipline not to draw further attention to himself as the larger male explained the situation. The speech was relatively short and to the point, which meant that it was easy enough to understand their goals and motivation, or at least Zyrune's. On Jacoben's part he was here because the Druid had asked him, and he was determined to ensure that there was no hard feelings between the two of them. With all the greetings and chit chat over it seemed they were ready to depart and Jacoben followed after the others hesitantly, wide eyes taking in the unusual sights of the forest as they went in search of the creature that the Druid wished for them to hunt.
A cry from their Assassin companion alerted the party to the oncoming enemies and the Adventurers all seemed to prepare to meet them in combat. Jacoben watched in a state of mild confusion as the others began to fight, mismatched eyes glancing between the spirit foxes as they attacked. This was the first time he'd fought in such a large party and it was somewhat overwhelming for the Foxtail, but a whinny of pain from Saskia's warhorse stirred him from inaction as the sound caused his ears to twitch in agitation.
Waving his hand in a somatic gesture a circular rune inscribed itself on the ground beneath him as he activated his Robust Battery skill, the glittering crystal ball that served as his focus dropping from its pouch at his waist before floating up to hover behind his right shoulder. Four silvery tails fanned out behind him as he revealed all of them for the first time since he had reached this level in a threat display that made him seem larger than he actually was (not that this would affect their enemies at all, but it was an instinctual act on his part).
Gone was any anxiety in the Sorcerer's posture or expression, instead calm and confidence reigned supreme. In battle there was no room for doubt, no time for anxiety, he could only act and expect to succeed. If he was defeated then he could waste time second guessing himself, but in the midst of combat the Foxtail allowed all his concerns to fade into the background. Trapped within the runic circle of his own making Jacoben gathered his mana and focused it before him, a spear of ice forming in the air in front of him before being flung at the Nogitsune that had bitten Icarus. The Frost Spear slammed into the fox spirit moments before Darko attacked it, causing a considerable amount of damage but not quite killing the creature.
Another languid gesture towards Saskia had the tank's weapon begin to spark with electricity, the Sorcerer having enchanted it with Thunderbolt Crash to ensure that the Guild Master would be able to cause even more damage should she so desire. With only one opponent remaining and the majority of the party converging on it Jac decided to refrain from casting another spell on it lest the others accidently get in the way. Between his Frost Spear and the enchantment of Saskia's sword he was fairly confident that he had done his part in this particular battle, it would be up to the others to finish off what was left of the Nogitsune.

Lets Play Elder Tales. Hp: 100 Mp:75 ▼ | Scratching the back of his head, Zyrune couldn't help but blush. "Don't say it like that," He pursed his lips playfully. "Like you, they are good people." The last part he added with a mutter, hoping that no one would actually hear him say it, being rather ashamed that he had to even ask for help in the first place.
As they passed the threshold into the dense wooden area, the half alv couldn't help but edge protectively towards the fox tail behind him. It still worried him that they might not have been prepared for what the forest held and knowing that Tadashi would be on him in a second if the fox tail was scratched was not a good thing to have weighing on his shoulders, but still they moved forwards under the soft cool light of the moon that illuminated parts of the forest floor, parts that the forest had yet to cover in dense ever greens.
The druid was on edge and his summon drifted beside him peacefully as they moved, each keeping an eye out. It somewhat relaxed him that they party was all on good terms, that seemed to a be a rare thing to find lately, then again more often than not it was because the druid himself had managed to irritate one person or another and it was even stranger to think that each person gathered was here to help him on a personal level, well maybe not Darko, but a boy could dream couldn't he?
With each step they took under the dense canopy, the group were closer to the deadlier Amaterasu, a beast that still haunted the druid's nightmares. As the moved, the group seemed to content with chatting among themselves, the topic of the night seemed to be the percentage of Scottish blood that was already alcohol, it seemed that they rivaled the Irish and Australian's in their drink consumption, a fact that earned a roll of the pink haired support's eyes, clearly showing that he didn't approve of any person's wish to consume that amount of alcohol.
The next part had happened so fast, that it had taken the druid completely off guard and he had drifted too far from Jacoben for his liking. Avalon seemed to notice it first, it seemed her wolf hair attributes really did provide an edge on the battle field. Seconds after her warning, two feral beast erupted from the darkn shroud that surrounded them, teeth bared ready to strike. The sparkling wolf hair was on her game straight away letting off an arrow directly striking one of the beasts, sending it sideways prevented from striking it's target Jacoben, the other one however remained on it's course.
With the presence of the monsters, Sakura started to dance swirling her arms this way and that around her as she channeled the air around her softly. Around her pollen and spores filled the air drifting this way and that around the battle field. It wasn't much, but with each spore that made contact with beasts, their speed would be reduced, of course if he wanted to Sakura could attack with these spores, but she wasn't exactly built to draw agro, especially from beasts this strong.
Saskia seemed to revel in the ambush, the delight could be read clearly on her face as if she was taunting the world to throw something difficult at her for once. Charging forwards on top of her trusted stead the pink haired guardian wasted no time in engaging her target, soon resulting in the beast sinking it's burning fangs into Icarus. Activating enthralling performance, Zyrune quickly started to sing, something which the idol and bard skills seemed to aid considerably making him sound somewhat talented, even though he had been tone deaf before finding himself reborn within the world.
It was a lively tune that some might recognize as Speed Sword Etude, a bard skill that his idol skill allowed him to use, as as a result all party members had their attack speed increased for a full 60 seconds. It seemed to work as Darko charged forwards which surprised Zyrune as he used a sword despite being a sorcerer as far as the druid had been aware. Something that Darko didn't seem to care about as he quickly parried the beast's attack before countering with a lightening spell of his own reducing the beast to anima.
The druid had been so focused on Saskia, that he hadn't even noticed Jacoben take his place. Rather than the timid and shy fox tail that had warranted protection moments before, stood a rather impressive ferocious figure with four tails spreading out behind him as if stating his power. With his hand raised, he formed a spear of pure mana above his short stature before trusting it forwards into the remaining Nogitsune, damaging the beast somewhat, however as the beast recovered a wave of fire washed over the beast and it's hp seemed to be replenished, faster than the average healing spell would normally allow.
As a puzzled expression washed over druid's face, his eyes lit up in shock as eyes glowed beneath the shroud of darkness, but only just for a moment before the area erupted in light revealing three Myobu each matching the level of the Nogitsune they currently faced, while another Nogitsune stood among them, snarling ready to charge. The druid cursed himself as the scene before him set in. Nogitsune were infamous for protecting their Myobu counterparts, it made sense that there would be some lingering around. It seemed however that the three myobu had each cast a healing spell on the remaining Nogitsune removing most of the damage thus far dealt much to Zyrune's dismay, however now they were attacking. "Watch out, there by the tree line!" He managed before the attack began.
The forest between them erupted in fire that was sent rushing forwards towards the group, it seemed that each Mubou had a separate target, those being Saskia, Darko and Jacoben, with the Nogitsune charging forwards. With a quick nod towards Sakura, the druid thrust his hand outwards towards the parties tank. "Heal!" Hoping to repair the damage the fire would cause while Sakura smiled warmly towards the beast at peace with the scene. It only took a moment for the summon to place herself between the fire spell and fox tail gracefully making sure to take the damage the spell would have caused Jaocben without hesitation. It wouldn't be enough to destroy her, but enough to damage her considerably due to her nature affinity. He couldn't watch, it always hurt him to let the tree spirit suffer, but then again it was better than letting the spell strike his friend.
However the left the remaining attack heading towards Darko and the charging Nogitsune whose target still hadn't been determined, at least not to the druid any how.

skill: missile swarm assassinate shadow bind- on jacoben's myobu [after a minute]
notes: Nogitsune- defeated
| After she had taken the initiative to attack the menacing vulpine creature, she darted her eyes at the environment surrounding her. Where am I? In heated breath, she noticed she was plainly standing on the grassy knolls where the fuchsia haired guardian fearlessly used to be just a little while ago. It was for a very good reason. Her lips contorted into a crooked smile at the scene of the fox spirit clamping it's jaws onto her and disgustingly slobbering all over the woman's tough elegant armor. It seemed like the guardian was it's new chew toy in this battle but failing badly at grasping it. If it was Avalon, it would unfortunately mean that she would be in distress and stinging pain with her battling the fox on some part of her body with some difficulty. Her health points would be decreasing most likely at a fast rate of time in that process, which didn't bond well with her and would mean less heavy offensive fighters in the party if she would have died because of that. She was glad that they had a tank type in their group to take those nasty attacks and increasing aggro on herself, while she and the others could focus on decreasing the amount of enemies during combat.
It was quite loud that she had winced from the sound when the pink haired chevalier began shouting and taunting the unrelenting vulpine creature biting down hard on her. Because of that, she swiftly toggled it off and activated the tongue of nature skill that will also be helpful in finding out if there were enemies nearby listening to their conversations. That skill was better than concentrating hard in different locations around her to decipher what direction her opponents were coming from. The hearing aptitude was more useful when she was enjoying a day of soloing hunting monsters for sport and practicing her stealthy abilities. She wasn't like the pink haired guardian where she could take many hits from enemies and go taunting her opponents with an aura of great confidence. Instead, she relied on blending in with the environment and gradually picking apart her enemies. Another reason why she chose the tongue of nature skill was also since she needed more experience and practice in using it so she would have an easier time using it in the future for taming a few monsters. It would have proven useful if she was able to do so today so her and her party could have gained an extra ally in combat but she wasn't ready yet.
With Saskia and her loyal steed's combined teamwork, they fortunately lowered the fox spirit's health points to less than thirty-three percent. It hurts! It hurts! She frowned in sympathy as she heard Icarus yelping in agony as he attempted to battle off his unrelenting opponent. Maybe just one more attacker to kill off the vulpine creature and then they could put their undivided attention onto the other fox spirit and defeat it as well, hopefully with no complications. The next adventurer that took the initiative to attack the creature was in her eyes, the sorcerer named Darko. Her wolfish eyes flickered in curiosity observing the ebony haired sorcerer from what she thought, impressively wielding double-edged sword for a mage type class. She would have never expected him to wield such a weapon except for a grimoire but she shouldn't really judge especially since she had never really met many mage type class adventurers yet. She widened her eyes at the fox white haired fox tail sorcerer who was once such a shy adventurer but now transformed into a fearless warrior that stood tall and displaying his experience in combat with his four imposing silverly tails for all to behold. A strange magic circle appeared below the sorcerer in a radiant light and a mere second later, she realized that was the move he was referring to earlier. Jacoben seemed to be glued to the spot but for a good reason, he conjured an icicle spear that dug into the fox spirt as it dealt some damage to the fox spirit. It didn’t manage to defeat the enemy but every little move counted and it proved true when Darko made his final attack.
Darko charged with such zeal and interestingly chained some type of stunning magic on the Nogitsune. Unlike it’s formerly menacingly figure, her intently focused eyes observed that it was seemingly appeared like it was squirming in throbbing pain. Stop it no! The pain! The fox spirit might not last that long. With the sorcerer’s melee sword chained with the spell, it looked like it decreased the fox spirit’s movement hopefully making it much easier to defeat it in a shorter amount of time. The impressive conclusion of the fox spirit was when the sorcerer thrusted his sword and a beautiful array of purple and blue hues of lightning reduced the opponent into anima dust. After Darko had fortunately kicked the Nogitsune away from Saskia’s steed, she breathed a sigh of relief at her comrade being released from it’s dire pain. But, she was glad and mildly surprised that the horse was able to hold it off for a while as an off-tank. Suddenly, she noticed in the corner of her eye that the guardian elegant sword began the glow a pearly white color. Avalon guessed that maybe one of the sorcerer meant to have her attack the fox spirit and had improved her weaponry in some way.
There was a chill in the restless night and the air seemed to thicken with an ominous intake of growing tension lurking around. A familiar voice shouted hurriedly that there were more monsters by the tree line and she immediately darted her amber eyes toward the towering trees. There were three Myobu and one roaring Nogitsune that definitely was not happy. Subtitles hurled at her with a vigor. They killed our comrades! We must avenge her! It was an annoyingly repeating mantra that echoed in her head combined with snarling and displaying their very sharp teeth. She heard the druid yell out ‘heal’ but she wasn't sure. Avalon almost had not enough time to react because a very aggravated Nogitsune was zooming toward her way and was only picking up more and more speed as it drew closer to her. She had to gain more distance. She wasn’t a melee type fighter. Avalon sprinted away from her party by a few feet with the help of the movement speed increase from her bow and armor until she reached a enough distance to launch her attack.
Using the Missile Swarm skill, she cocked her bow and rained down many arrow projectiles onto her enemies that the Nogitsune was unable to dodge any of her arrows from any direction and sent flying until it collided with a tree causing it to yelp in pain though it was still not defeated. It immediately opened it’s jaws wide and sent cloaks of fire toward her. She didn’t waste any time. Avalon once again sprinted to dodge the fiery clutches but it was too late, the fire attack hit her on the shoulder though causing her to wince for a moment. She couldn’t let her enemy get away from injuring her. Avalon quickly cocked her bow and arrow as she used her assassinate skill. The arrow was sent zooming faster and faster toward her target. Her heart skipped a beat when it seemed like the arrow wavered in another direction but suddenly, her opponent leaped up fortunately causing the arrow the collide with it’s belly. It finally dissipated into anima, no longer a threat to her. After seconds of a cool down, she hurriedly assisted Jacoben by striking the Myobu’s shadow quietly to render it immobile.

Guardian - Cavalier - Brewer ____________________________________________________
Saskia gritted her teeth as she heard Icarus whine in despair. The moans of agony that whimpered from the steed planted seeds of guilt that stained her heart. She felt as if it were some form of animal cruelty to use her horse like this for combat, but she knew that Icarus would endure. Perhaps, now was the time to seriously consider outfitting him with some heavier armor as the monsters out here made for a perilous journey and were more dangerous than ever before. Plumes of ice sliced through the air and splintered the side of fanged beasts as the spellbinder’s quarter of tails flickered behind him in radiant glory as Jacoben saves Icarus from the torment of teeth that were digging into his ivory skin.
Saskia smirked at the ash haired fox tail, momentarily admiring his swarm of tails. In the corner of her gaze, stood her guildmate, Darko, who already seemed to have systematically worked out his methods of mayhem as a crackling spark of lightning illuminated his blade. Saskia internally had to admit that she was envious of the spellblade’s arsenal, especially after his sword ripped a Nogitsune asunder with his swirling shocks. The real calamity of catastrophe was unveiled when [Lightning Chamber] was unleashed on the devious fox spirit, reducing it to anima dust.
Such immense power was unleashed in such a velocity that it almost hurt Saskia’s eyes to see as she squinted a bit from the graphic animation. She never saw a spell quite like it, but it only made her even more thrilled by the anticipation of what Sorcerors would be like once they used tier 3 spells. That level of destruction was uncharted, but whatever spells would be unlocked, would bring dread upon the battlefield for whatever sad prey crossed paths with it.
Saskia snickered when Darko rushed towards the Nogitsune that was attacking Icarus and attacked it with a swift kick. Had he even trained his unarmed combat skill? Or was he going for the stunning flair of combat? Either way, Saskia couldn’t blame him for wanting to drive a boot into the mangy fox spirit after what it had done to her poor horse.
Saskia’s feet slid around in the dirt as she shifted forward, trying to get her bearing’s and check on the status of the other operative’s in this mission. She knew she had to remin vigilant while the other’s were on the offensive. If she got too carried away trying to feel a DPS role, when she knew she was the team’s shield, things could get ugly really quickly.
As she studied the battlefield, she heard a loud cry from behind her. A sharp warning bellowing through the forest. Plumes of a soothing aura engulfed her in a teal blossom as the healing sensation washed over her. The familiarity of the spell was all she needed to know that Zyrune had her back and was looking out for her. It also donned on her that Darko and herself had heal spells, just in case shit hit the fan. As she noticed all of the enemies approaching as they danced from behind the tree lines, Saskia began to wonder if the demands of mana needed would wear them out.
Myobu’s were annoying creatures with the ability to heal the wouns of their allies and override any of the damage that was done. As Saskia knew, the potency of the damage that sorcerors caused came at a heavy price. This battle might be one of long endurance if it was left to drag out, an she knew they couldn’t afford the costs of running out of mana.
Sparks were starting to fly, quite literally, as Saskia’s sword began to quiver with rods of lightning shooting forth from it. The Wolf Hair’s golden eyes glazed at the sight of her newly enchanted sword with glee as she offered a cocky wink to the Fox Tail as a token of her appreciation.
That’s when she noticed a flaming barrage headed his way.
Shit.
Her eyes shivered, she knew he was a good distance away and she had already used her covering ability to help out Avalon. Even a taunt wouldn’t deter the flmes that were already headed his way. Fortunately, a daring pink blur dashed to his rescue and Zyrune’s vanguard took the flaming blow in Jacoben’s stead ; A risky move given it’s weakness to the fiery element.
A raining splinter of arrows rained down across the battlefield as Avalon, the team’s sharpshooter, entered the state of a vicious manhunt as she pounced on her prey with an unwavering volley of arrows and finished a Nogitsune off with a grand finale of her class’s trademark skill [Assassnate]. The single target DPS was unlike any other in her team as the raw power of the Assassin’s abilities when it came own to tackling a single opponent was clearly unmatched.
Saskia had to admit, she was a bit jealous at how Avalon would be able to take out her opponents with ease, while for Saskia, being so defense oriented, most of her battles seemed like a prolonged game of chess and it’d take her quite some time to rack up any killstreaks.
However, perhaps with so many foes, maybe know was the time to claim her crown of glory upon the battlefield. A wicked grin etched on her face, and a brilliant golden glare hovering over her lightning enblazed sword was all it took to get her blood surging with adrenaline.
The Wolf Hair shouted in a fury that erupted into immortal flames as she taunted the remaining cluster of four enemies with her [Anchor Howl] ability.
“Anchor Howl!!!” She cried valiantly, as with each moment of growing tenacity, she became more wolf like and primal in nature, this time growing a wolf tail from her body.
As the foxes howled in retaliation, Saskia reached into her satchel and withdrew a [Tuna Sandwich] , right in the middle of the fight, and began wolfing it down as the swarm of angry fox spirits approached. As she sucked the tasty tuna off her fingers, she became invigorated by the [Defense Buff] that it gave her as she smirked at her enemies, stacking yet another defensive buff to herself by toggling her [Cool Defense] ability on, making her even more of a humanoid iron fortress. As the quick and agile fox spirits dashed towards her , her golden gaze flickered brightly as she channeled a defensive skill, as each second past by the fox spirits drew ever closer, feet pounding on top of the crushed earth. Once she was surrounded, she unveiled her secret art. As the three that were unsnared by Avalon’s Shadow Bind skill came racing towards her, the five meter area around Saskia became engulfed in a dark black aura as the pull of gravity surged and all enemies that were clustered within started to feel the strains of the deep gravitational pull put a burden on their movement speed and attack damage, further mitigating their damage output. It even seemed that by their lower movement speed, that the flow of time itself was ripped asunder as the clockwork of their movements seemed distorted.
As the Nogitsune, and two Myobu’s surrounded her, they began to claw out at her and attack her with vicious biting fangs. Even the Myobu in the distance that was shadow binded by Avalon had launched a barrage of flames at the Guardian. Fortunately, she had the Amulet of the Selkie that she won from her Temple of the Tides mission, which helped mitigate a fraction of the magical damage that was dealt to her. After, suffering the wave of attacks, she felt a portion of her health shrink. However, the mana that she had to ump to unleash this combo was severe and it was continuously draining the more she sustained the ability. However, she knew she had to hold off the flock before they rampaged the battlefield and surrounded her allies.
"If you got AoE's now's the time to use 'em!" Saskia grunted as she endured the vicous blows, her mana steadily draining, as Icarus unexpectantly dashed to get revenge on the Nogitsune by trambling it under his hooves after a violent stampede, taking away a sliver of it's health.

Before Darko's foot collided with the face of the Nogitsune, a flash of bluish-white light flew from his left. The next space of time found the Nogitsune frozen stiff, unable to move and its eyes set on the direction of the blue light, its face perfectly open for Darko's kick. A quick stop, and the basic taekwondo kick connected to the face of the black fox, setting it away from the horse. He then checked the HP of the fox. It seemed to be decreased by an amount, but a larger one that he did not expect from a Tier I skill cast by a Level 40 sorcerer. It seemed that that sorcerer had activated the skill that he saw on the sorcerer's arsenal: Robust Battery. Although the skill could increase magic damage and a perfect complement to his Proximal Burst skill, the skill required the sorcerer to be immobile while executing the boosted spells. Darko also thought of adding the skill to his arsenal, but he thought that it would mean nothing to him yet, as a sorcerer requiring a lot of speed and mobility on the field. And so he would defer the selection of that skill until there would be no more relevant skills to him at Tier II.
He then faced the Nogitsune, which was still angry at him for the boot on the face. Darko's sword was still crackling with lightning, but the enchantment should expire soon. He must make this enchantment good on his mana pool, as he was trying to decrease his MP consumption as much as possible. He then charged on the Nogitsune, which also charged on him. The sword on his left hand left trails of lightning as he charged towards the Nogitsune, and meant to execute a quick horizontal slash from left to right. But the Nogitsune instead moved sideways and snagged Darko's right arm right in front of it. Darko's eyebrows twitched in pain as he continued the slash on the body of the Nogitsune, the lightning assaulting the black fox brutally as it dropped down on the ground. Opening and closing his right hand to confirm that he sustained no damage on his ligaments, he then moved the sword backwards, meaning to thrust the Nogitsune another time, but a sudden shout from Zyrune stopped him. When he stared at a direction further from him, he saw spirits cloaked in fire about to assault him. It was the Spirit Fire spell of the Myobu or the Nogitsune, and it was hurtling towards him. There was no time to cast the Blink spell, and he could not escape it. The only thing he could do was try to shield himself from the flames using his sword...wait, there should be a better shield for this. He then stared at the Nogitsune at the front of him. His right arm was smeared with his blood, and so he attempted to dangle it at the front of the fox, hoping that it would jump towards the arm. And the Nogitsune took the bait and jumped towards the arm, and then Darko bent backwards so that the homing flames would also move downward. The main effect was the Nogitsune was hit with some of the flame spirits, and the rest hit Darko's right arm, cauterizing the bite wound. And then another brilliant flash of light trailed from Darko's sword as he slashed the sword towards the Nogitsune's belly, getting it away from him as the Nogitsune dropped upright on the ground. He then got up and took a quick glance at from where the Spirit Fire originated, and saw three Myobu and one Nogitsune charging towards them. It would seem as if they were on a dire situation, but, judging from their levels, the situation might be only more of an appetizer than the main course, since their levels were low enough. But the problem is, the Myobu had a healing spell. Fortunately he and the guardian that he fought with before had stopped the single Myobu from healing itself, but this time, since they were still focused on the lone Nogitsune, they were able to heal that Nogitsune's damage. Although what happened was a little disheartening for them, they had to bear with it to finish everything on the table right now.
But the archer assassin seemed as if she was never disheartened by that sudden heal as she lured the newly-arrived Nogitsune into her direction, and single-handedly finished it off. Although the whole turn of events were not very much known to Darko as he was engaging the Nogitsune that he was battling from mid-range, still it was very intimidating. Now Darko was fired up and wanted to make something of a good impression here. But he then noticed that the Nogitsune that he was battling was lured by Saskia. Darko was relieved that the guardian had taken her rightful role in that instance, but the flare in his soul never disappeared. He then used the Quick Swap skill to swap his sword for a grimoire and a deck of cards, and then followed up with the casting of the Serpent Bolt spell for the human tower that was the guardian to have some spikes in its perimeter. This should be the closest to an area of effect spell as could be, but Darko never stopped thinking of a more possible way to deal a true area of effect damage to these mobs here. To be honest, if this was an MMORPG that was introduced earlier, he would not have to worry about collateral damage. But this time, if he needed an area of effect spell to hit, he would have to take note of the people around him if they would take damage. The only way that he could do an area of effect damage to mobs was to deactivate his Proximal Burst skill. But since it might affect his mana economy, he would not attempt to do that. In such a way, dealing damage to single targets could be deemed more profitable than using an area of effect skill.
After the Serpent Bolt skill was applied to Saskia to release streaks of lightning periodically from her person against the mobs she had been fighting with, he then started to cast another spell while throwing cards and shooting magic bolts from his grimoire towards one Myobu. This time it was again the Lightning Chamber spell, and it was directed towards another Myobu which was being engaged by Saskia. He had to finish all of these pesky healers before they could heal once more. The spell then went off, and a pentagram was seemingly painted on the body of the Myobu, and then a mighty shock struck the Myobu already damaged by successive strikes of the Serpent Bolt that he cast towards the guardian, instantly reducing it to anima after a helpless squeal. Nowt wasting time, he then cast another spell as he raised his right hand while using the deck of cards to continue the assault on the Myobu that he was attacking earlier. The sky began to darken, sign that Darko was using the spell Magi Lightning: Grand Fall. After the spell was cast, a mighty thunderbolt struck the Myobu that was periodically assaulted, and the damage from the lightning was enough to reduce the fox to shards of light. Darko then sighed as he glanced on the third Myobu that was trapped by the assassin. It would seem that the Myobu would be likely to be finished off quickly, and so he directed his attacks on the remaining Nogitsune in the battlefield, showing no mercy.

"Any treasure you obtain without ever having to work for it is no treasure at all."

Not one to simply relax after a combat situation, Jacoben was alert and ready when Zyrune called out the incoming reinforcements, toggling both his Tongue of Nature and Hearing Aptitude skills to ensure he wouldn't get caught out again by any future attackers. Fluffy ears twitched as the sounds of fighting increased and the growling of the Fox spirits suddenly became understandable. This new understanding of the creatures didn't mean he would relent and ask forgiveness however, they had attacked first and he would not rest until they were defeated.
The Sorcerer's eyes narrowed as he spotted the column of fire heading towards him, his tails swaying confidently behind him as he raised a hand, twisted his palm up and curled his last two fingers in as he brought his forearm back towards his body in the somatic gesture which allowed him to cast Force Shield on himself, the barrier springing up moments before Zyrune's summon leapt between him and the Myobu's flames. Watching the tree spirit become engulfed in flames and knowing it was undoubtedly weak against such an attack only served to anger Jacoben further. How dare these spirits cause harm to others, how dare they attack from the shadows and strike innocent travellers.
Focusing primarily on his own battle the Foxtail Sorcerer locked eyes with the Myobu charging at him, ears back and sharp canines bared as he began to cast another spell. The Fox Spirit would likely reach him before the casting was finished, and he couldn't leave the circle of his Robust Battery or he would lose its effects. His Force Shield wouldn't protect him from the creature's wrath either, as it was a barrier which guarded the caster from ranged damage, not melee. He could feel the mana flowing through his body, could see the way the runic mark would form on the Myobu's body and all it would take was a few more seconds to gather sufficient power to unleash the spell.
Considering his normal personality it would have been understandable to assume that Jacoben would flee, trying to avoid the attack of a creature that could potentially kill him due to the fragile nature of the Sorcerer class. Flight was not in his thoughts at all. Indignant rage and cold power filled his mind, the rising mana within him filling him with a sort of warmth and pressure that just begged to be unleashed upon the world. This was not the defensive magic of his Force Shield, nor the enhancing magic of Thunderbolt Crash, nor even was it the basic attack magic of Frost Spear. This was the elemental fury of a much more powerful spell, one that was amongst the most damaging attacks a Sorcerer was capable of unleashing. He would not flinch away from the Fox spirit's attack, he would meet it head on if he had to and he would destroy it if it failed to kill him with its first strike.
Thankfully it seemed that this was not necessary, as Avalon's Shadowbind held the Myobu firmly, halting its charge in its tracks. Allowing himself a feral grin Jacoben was able to unleash his spell unmolested, the Myobu's forehead beginning to glow as an electrical pentagram traced itself into the creature's face, the final condition for his Lightning Chamber spell to be completed. The creature had a moment to snarl at him before a surge of electricity shot through its body, its HP dropping rapidly until it reached zero. As the creature's body disintegrated into anima the Foxtail turned his attention to the others, his mismatched eyes taking in the events that had occurred while he had been busy with his own Myobu.
It seemed that between them, Darko and Saskia had taken out the other two Myobu, Avalon had removed the newest Nogitsune, and the final Fox Spirit was faced with low health and five relatively fresh Adventurers looking to take it down. Flicking his eyes upwards, Jacoben spotted an appropriate target and reached out with both hands, his mana responding as his tails fanned out in concentration. Making a gripping motion in the air he felt the spell take hold, and with a wrenching downwards of his arms a crack could be heard throughout the forest. For a moment it would seem as though nothing else had occurred, but then a tree branch approximately four inches in diameter plummeted from the canopy towards the remaining Nogitsune, guided by the youthful spellcaster's Psychic Conductor.
The thick wooden branch slammed into the Fox Spirit, impaling it through the chest to wipe out its remaining Hit Points. As the final enemy's body dissolved into Anima Jacoben's additional tails faded out of view, hiding away behind his self restraint and leaving only the primary extremity waving behind him in a mixture of relief and self-satisfaction. The tenseness left his face as well, his entire posture shifting back into the shy young man that the others had originally met. They had survived their first combat experience as a group and that was definitely a good thing, though he had used up a decent portion of Mana in the encounter and it was highly likely that Darko at least had as well as Jac was fairly certain that he had seen another Lightning Chamber used out of the corner of his eye which meant the other Sorcerer had to be at least around the same level of mana as he was.
"Ah....well, that was a bit unexpected..." he stated rather pointlessly as his Crystal Ball returned to its place in the pouch at his waist, stepping towards Zyrune is an attempt to remain near someone familiar in the face of something that was very new to him. It wasn't often that he had gotten into combat situations since the Apocalypse, and he'd never been involved in an encounter that included so many other people at once. It was all very overwhelming for the youth and only his determination to prove helpful to Zyrune kept him in place rather than contemplating leaving to avoid bringing trouble on the expedition.
A few deep breaths allowed the Foxtail time to calm himself down and return to a more normal state of mind, the tingle of mana still flowing through him as he twitched his fingers absently. It had been a while since he had been in combat and it was taking him longer to recover from the aftermath than he was used to, his body still somewhat on edge from what he assumed was adrenaline, though it was entirely possible that his body in this world didn't function the way it used to. Regardless, after a few moments of steady breathing he managed to reach an equilibrium.
"Now what?" he inquired quietly in the silence that came after battle.

Lets Play Elder Tales. Hp: 100 Mp:75 ▼ | Letting out a quiet breath of air as the final beast erupted into anima particles, the druid closed his eyes for a moment, letting himself take a breath. Normally he wasn't one to relax so easily after a tense battle, but this seemed to warrant it. The team had performed brilliantly together, sure enough some of them had taken damage, but those were the risks they took getting into battle.
Subtly leaning over, the druid brushed his shoulders with the fox tail's to make sure he is okay without making a show that he was too worried about him. The druid knew he wasn't comfortable in crowds, but he was here for Zyrune even if he loathe every second of the awkward small talk that entailed and yet his stance, that look behind his eyes and fierce confidence behind each spell seemed an entirely different person then the short viably uncomfortable fox tail that stood beside him now.
It was clear that the battle had affected him, but the druid was sure he couldn't get into right now, not with so many people around him. Later, after their goal was finished. However as his eyes flickered from adventurer to adventurer it was clear that the group needed a break, both their mp and hp levels were in dire need of a respite. "Wasn't that exciting?" The cotton candy haired druid chimed with a smile. "Great job guys!" The taller male added in a sing song voice, laughing as he opened up his interface to summon several health and mana potions he had purchased in advance of the quest. Tossing the health ones to those in need and the mana ones to everyone else, his shoulders relaxed somewhat as he opened his own.
Surviving their first combat experience as a group was definitely a thing to congratulate each other over and it would go a long way in their efforts tonight. They only one not fairing up so well happened to be the druid's poor summon who had taken significant damage from those feral beasts. "I guess the world will have to do without your beauty from the rest of the night Sakura, take a break." Zyrune pouted dramatically as he desummoned the flower spirit reluctantly.
"Now we push forward," The druid chimed gesturing to the dense forward in front of them. "If I recall correctly oni spirits roam the next level ring of this forest, strange disgusting beasts with only the desire to kill, extremely combat oriented." The druid tilted his head to the side innocently. "They have a tenancy to scare away companions, so it might be best to have yours wait nearby or we will risk him running off with you on his back."

| As the beastly monsters disappeared into anima in a sparkle filled visage, she took a few moments to loosen her stance and exhaled outward bringing her into a calming state of mind. Her heartbeat gradually returned into a steady metronome as her rush of adrenaline cooled down and wolffish features slowly transformed back to a regular human features. The battle against those foxlike creatures was over--for now. She was surprised how fast and smoothly they all were able to defeat this Nogitsune and Myobu providing cooperation even though it seemed that had only fought at least only once or twice together.
The only adventurers in the group she had teamed up with was Zyrune and Saskia though it was only once that they had done so. The quest that she had unexpectedly had gone through was filled with ominous feelings and snarky drama that it affected her nerves and felt she didn't do the best that could have done in any other situation. Now in this group in the moonlit night, everyone seemed to get along with each other that she smiled in contentment with that thought in mind. She hoped that it would continue in this way.
Her cheerful fuchsia haired guild member spoke up as he easily lightened up the mood, releasing some of her lingering nerves with his ever so sing-song voice. Her lips perked upward into wide grin in response to his cheery feelings he conveyed toward her and the rest of the group. "Yeah, liked that rush," she chirped up matching his mood but shrugged slightly, "Though that fire spirit thing stung a bit," as she sighed remembering the failed attempt at dodging one of those nasty vengeful spirits earlier. "Oh thanks," she said with gratefulness tipped in the tone of her voice as she quickly caught the health potion he tossed at her. She drank the health potion with a vigor and once she was done, "I needed that," as she finished the potion with satisfaction.
Avalon gazed at the beauty and elegance of the summon that resembled a graceful ballerina dancer. She was a bit disappointed that her guild mate had to desummon Sakura though she guessed it was necessary since the feminine summon took quite some damage against the fox spirits earlier from what she had heard. She wasn't able to see it's glory in the battle since she was solely focused on her half of the fight and making sure she could avoid more damage than needed. The summon was a good asset in the battle and she wouldn't mind having it back out in battle next time. She quietly waved at the beautiful summon as it dissipated from her sight.
Her ears listened onward and eyes focused intently when Zyrune spoke up stating that the next creatures that they may have to fight afterwards. She wasn't sure on what those oni spirits looked like but based on what he said that they were able to scare off animal companions, then they must be quite the enemy to be wary and cautious. "Sounds like nasty ugly beasts," she replied with a jokingly facial expression of disgust though continued with a hint of seriousness, "Gotta be careful then huh?" with a nod and felt an ominous chilling wind brush against her skin.

As an array of lightning and adrenaline fueled combat washed over the battlefield, Saskia watched as magical deviant, Darko, unveiled a tenacious offensive. She admired his fierce tenacity and the courage it took him as a mage to get right into the thick of it alongside her. Most of the time, she would fret about others making themselves so vulnerable in such a clash of conflict, but the man held a wealth of rapport with her as an individual with an optimal spirit of discernment. Most of his movements and discretion was tactically sound and he knew when not to push past his limits. Frankly, she was impressed by how well their level of synergy was when it came to manipulating the battlefield so quickly.
He possessed a clever reaction time and she had a feminine intuition that allowed them to hone their abilities as iron sharpens iron. Glistening radiant jewels danced about the battlefield as she saw spells swallow the sky and erupt in a thunderous boom overhead. It seemed that Darko was not alone in the manifestation of maniacal mayhem, as the new face on the field was a fox tail that proved himself a force to be reckoned with, as his lightning chamber spelled singed the very essence of fear into the soulless creature that suffered the displeasure of enduring his wrath. Her eyelashes batted in disbelief as she saw him rip a branch from a tree and skewer the Myobu like a shiskabob and left him to die as he dissolved into anima. She scratched the back of her neck nervously as a faint chuckled escaped her pink lips.
She did appreciate everyone’s well timed strikes, however, now that the chaos seemed to die down a little, she felt compelled to tend to her warhorse and see how his wounds were doing. Neighing lightly, the chivalrous steed trots softly to his master, gazng up at her with warm hazel eyes. The armored Maiden tenderly caresses his soft main, and glances over his HP bar to check the severity of the wound inflicted. With a small frown, she realizes that he had lost a decent chunk of his health and would need time to recover.
Her ears pick up[ the familiar voice of her friend, Zyrune, as his voice which was as sweet as honey rang out through the quiet forest as he seemed engaged in conversation with his acquaintance, the silver haired fox tail.
She smiles in appreciation and he thanks them for a job well done and snags the health potion out of the air as he tosses it.
“And here I was thinking I was the only one who came prepared, I should have known! I guess it’ s to be expected when you don’t have to deal with a second rate healer..” Saskia smirked.
“Pretty good job, Darko. I guess we’ll never get to see you in the rear. You’re stuck in the trenches with me on the front!’ Saskia chuckled heartily, before shifting her gaze to Jacoben.
“And Geesh man, how does something so cute and fuzzy hurl a spike through an animal’s chest...remind me never to get on your bad side....I’m not a fan of your method of surgery. I don’t need any extra limbs than I got already. Especially if they come from a tree!” Saskia snickered.
“Smooth moves, too, Avalon. You and I have to hit up that range soon, so you can show me some of those moves! I’m thinking horseback archery would be like the next big thing for me!” Not exactly tank friendly, but some enemies I can’t hit with a sword or spear alone. I hate those flying jerks.”
Saskia smiled as she reached into her satchel and retrieve soe [Pet Medicine] and began applying the powder to Icarus’ wounds.
“I’m proud of you, too, Icarus. You’re a great team player as well. “ She petted him gently and turned her eyes to Zyrune and Darko. “Pretty sure I still got these Burn creams, if you’d like to use them. Sakura seems like she definitely took one for the team. Let me check and see what I’ve got.”
After rummaging through her gear, Saskia pulled out two Burn creams that were encased in light tan circular boxes and held them out, with her pink fingernails hovering over the edges.
After handing them over, she tilted her head at the comment about the new adversaries they would be facing, and contemplated her options. She rarely fought without Icarus by her side, and her combat style was highly dependent upon him. The idea of combat without him made her feel uneasy, however, she was in good company, so it was possibly she could afford the loss of her trusty steed.
“Alright, boy, looks like I’m going to have to go this one alone...” Saskia said with a certain sadness in her eye. She knew she would miss having him around, as she had already grown so accustomed to having him around. Focusing on the voyage ahead of them, she desummoned the horse and proceeded to trek down the wilds of the forest alongside her comrades.
“Scary beasts huh? Well, I guess as long as I don’t chicken out and run off, we should be good, yeah?” Saskia grinned mischieviously as she tapped her sword against her shoulder blade.
