Yawning widely, Eadon somehow managed to force himself up and out of his warm bed and out into his room. Well, technically it wasn't his room, per se. Just the spare room of the smith's shop where he worked that Reid had been kind enough to let him stay in. Did that make it his room? Eadon wasn't entirely sure, but he was starting to keep quite a few of his things in here. Hopefully his guild would get a guild house made soon, and he would be able to move in there with some of his friends and fellow adventurers.
Groaning, Eadon quickly put that thought out of his mind. For whatever reason, Adler had called him over the telepathic link last night, asking him if they could meet up and do... something... today. Eadon was not entirely sure what it was, but she had specifically requested that they have access to a forge. That in mind, he had invited her over to the shop. no doubt she would be here shortly.
"Guess I should make myself look borderline presentable, then..." the red head said to himself, scratching at his bed hair idly and stifling another yawn, "So sleepy..."
Quickly putting on some casual clothes, he quickly made his way down the narrow staircase and into the shop proper and the small kitchenette behind the counter. Putting on a pot of coffee, he switched his brain off for at least the next ten minutes while he went through his morning checklist.
Shop ready for customers? Tick. Mess that that stupid and overly Scottish blacksmith Reid who he slaved away.... errr worked for packed up? Tick.Everything seemed strangely enough to be more or less ready to go, by the time that Adler was supposed to show up here. It was almost... strange in a way.
Shaking off the feeling, Eadon continued sipping at his coffee, sticking some metal into the forge and making sure that said forge was nice and hot, before laying out all of his black smithing tools. On that note... He grabbed out a few chisels, and some more artisan friendly equipment that Adler might like as well, putting them on another nearby bench. if she felt the urge to practice her craft, she should have all she needed there. He could distinctly remember the last time they had worked together after all. It had been an all around pleasant day, and had lead to him being accepted into her guild. it was still a bit of a shock sometimes, having a place to call his own like that, but he was slowly becoming used to the idea.
Finishing off his coffee, Eadon quickly made for the sink and washed up the cup, reminded once again bemusedly of the many times he had regretted not taking the maid subclass. He certainly spent enough time cleaning and organising. It would be so weird, for a guy, but at the same time... Eadon thought it could be a good idea. Maybe I should change it after all? He put that thought out of his mind quickly, burying it somewhere he would never think of it again. Nope. Not doing it.
Coffee finished and forge ready, Eadon went to the door and flicked over the open sign to the open for business side. hopefully his guild mate would be along shortly. | |

[attr="class","adler_post c"][attr="class","aptype"]Adl&r, the Artisan [attr="class","stats right"] Thread Type Private Social Crafting Wrote 440 words Although Adler enjoyed being an Artisan, she didn’t spend every waking moment refining her skills and trying to find new recipes, oh no. She did, however, habitually visit a bulletin board in the city on which the latest breakthroughs were published. She had been on her way home last night when she made the usual detour and, on seeing a few new papers, stopped to read over them. It was amazing what some people could think of. She was always jealous of those who had found a way to craft something that seemed so easy to figure out in hindsight, as well as of those people who boggled her mind with their secret method of making the impossible, not. Her eyes widened on seeing a recipe for Artisans. Could it be that her class wasn’t useless after all? When she finished reading and made her own notes, she rushed home, calling everyone in her guild to spread the good news. She could make accessories! Everyone except Eadon anyway. She called him, but arranged for a meet up the next day while revealing nothing about the reason for her excitement. She had been wary of asking him for accessories before, but now that she had something to trade for his services, she was absolutely going to do a trade. Hopefully he accepted it though. Adler readied the things she would bring to Eadon’s shop before heading to bed. A selection of different stones, some clay, her tools. She would probably need more tomorrow depending on what Eadon wanted, but they would be at St. Pancras anyway and wouldn’t be too far from supplies if neither of them had what either needed. Naturally, she overslept. The lack of alarm clocks in this world was an occasional source of stress for her, particularly during outings she planned herself. Adler threw on everything and ran towards the station, stopping only to catch her breath and to grab something to eat on the way over. There. Eadon’s shop. The ground was a little muddy and slippery from the light rain that morning. At the last second, Adler slipped and ran into the concrete wall, getting a face full of moss as a reward despite throwing her arms up to protect her head. Her body was sore, but at least it didn’t feel like she had given herself a concussion. Adler stumbled into Eadon’s shop, blinking away the stars in her eyes. “Sorry. I’m. Late.” She panted, walking over to the nearest surface she could sit on and did so. “Let me just… catch my breath…” What she wouldn’t give for some aspirin right about now. Catnaps were nice every once in a while, but they could not compare to the real thing, especially when she was only getting (at best) an hour or two of sleep. She was beyond tired and behaving erratically from time to time. So when she curled up on her small pile of cushions and blanket one day, she fell asleep almost instantly and did not stir for a good two days. Fiver and Duke were able to sustain themselves while their master slept; the owl feasted on rats and mice, while the Frenmic Rabbit helped itself to a few of Cap's herbs and roots. The Enchanter probably would have slept a third day, had Adler not called her.
Capsule's first reaction to the call was to blindly reach for the receiver and knock the phone onto the floor, where it would either lie broken or off the hook. Her second response was to childishly mumble for her mother to give her five more minutes of sleep. Her third and final response was somewhat coherent, though she had mistaken Adler for her mother, answering the woman's excited chatter with "That's nice. I'll be there tomorrow. Love you too. G'night." After that, she had rolled back over and gone back to sleep, but now cuddling Fiver's warm, furry body to her chest. She slept peacefully through the night, with nary a nightmare, and woke up feeling refreshed and energetic the next morning. Duke, that irascible little owl of hers, had decided to wake the woman by rudely nipping at her ear. "Alright, alright. I'm up, I'm up."
The owl was allowed to hop around on the roof above, courtesy of the little hole in her ceiling that had formed from the failed hanging attempt. It was still early enough in the morning for the sun to still be at rest, so Capsule rummaged through her inventory for something to placate her rumbling stomach while she tidied up her apartment. The place looked to be the scene of a small scale party thrown by a few wild animals. Fiver had passed hraka on a discarded pile of old newspapers (which was now starting to overflow), chewed on some of the wooden fixtures and "furniture," and Duke had been less than tidy with his pellets and victims.
By the time she was done cleaning everything up, the sun was up and Duke was snoozing in his little alcove. Capsule remembered that Adler had called her the night before (sometime after her fifth apple), and distinctly recalled something along the line of Artisan accessories. If more was said then that however, she could not say, and it was probably best that she could not remember. Even her "promise" to go see Adler was forgotten, but she was curious enough about the accessories to go visit the woman. 'I wish I knew what her frequent hang outs were.' Well, there was a bright side to this; she could stretch her legs a bit and enjoy the fresh air.
Capsule wasn't even sure if she would even request an accessory from Adler. She had no idea what they were capable of, or if they would even be beneficial to her. 'It kind of seems like all of the crafting classes are getting accessory recipes - some, anyway.' It obviously would be difficult to make consumption based accessories, so Chefs and Pharmacists would get the short end of the stick. Heck, the same could be said of Woodcrafters and Scribes, too, though the former stood a far better chance of being able to craft accessories. 'Or would those be more like toys?' She had puzzle boxes on the brain, but not any available to spin around in her hands. She was starting to miss her old Rubik's Cube.
Fiver hopped by her side, stopping every few minutes to sniff at everything as they combed St. Pancras Station for any signs of Adler. It was weird that they did not spot her almost immediately. Adler was the kind of woman you could spot a mile away, though that seemed difficult to do when you were wading through a sea of weirdos. Cap was almost ready to give up and walk somewhere else instead, when she witnessed an unfortunate woman running headlong into a building. "...Ouch." She winced, but Fiver took it a step further and covered his face with his little paws. "Wait...is that?" She scrunched up her face as she squinted at the figure, and identified it as Adler when the woman righted herself.
Rather than run waving after Adler like a giant aspie, Capsule calmly picked up Fiver so that he was not crushed by an overweight Wolf-Hair's foot, and made her way across the street to a familiar shop. It belonged to a blacksmith, one that did not belong to the smith who crafted her kukri. This was the same shop she had left a request for an accessory (a dragon shaped ear cuff). It had turned out rather nicely and she was pleased with the result, though she was wary of wearing it out in crowded districts like these, where people took advantage of the lack of law and order. Adler was a Guardian, so it wasn't strange for her to be in a place like this. As an Enchanter, however, the redhead was given disapproving looks from passerby as she stepped into the building.
She blinked a little at the difference in lighting, and hugged Fiver a little tighter to herself as she took in her surroundings. Adler was sitting and calling out to someone she called "Eadon". She assumed that this was the young man with auburn hair, and...a guild icon similar to the won she and Adler had. 'Oh…' She felt her cheeks start to flush in embarrassment, and quickly lifted Fiver to hide her reddening face. Well, this was awkward. She didn't know they had a new guild member, or that she'd requested crafting from him beforehand. 'Just gonna be...awkward somewhere else.' That was the plan, anyway, until she happened to glance back and meet the eyes of a large and muscular Werecat. 'Yeah no I'm just gonna stay in here.' Mingling with Adler and the fresh faced Eadon was a lot less scary than having to brush by the hulking giant outside the shop.
