No one knew why or what laid on the other side. Perhaps someone from a faraway city activated their gate and it linked it to London’s, perhaps it was a trap by whoever caused the apocalypse, perhaps it was purely random. No one knows, but many were curious and planned on exploring. Adventurers of all levels charged into the gate, but nothing could prepare them for what they came to find. As they passed through the gate, they found themselves in a shadowy copy of London and their class and levels changed. They were now Level 90 Duelists, a class they never heard of before. Their equipment completely changed as well, their armor now some sort of fancy uniform and their weapons replaced by a contraption that looked like it came from a show about Children’s Card Games, and speaking of Children’s Card Games, everyone was given a pack of cards and instructions: “Art of the Duelist Tier I Passive. The Duelist starts with 8000 Life Points. If Life Points reach 0, the Duelist's HP drops to 0. At the start of the thread, select 15 cards from the following list and rearrange the cards in any order you prefer. Due to the Heart of the Cards, it doesn't really matter whether you shuffle your deck or not. You're still going to get the cards you need. It's not cheating either. At the start of a battle, draw five cards. At the start of every turn, including the first turn, draw one card. Whenever you use a card, it is discarded and can no longer be drawn from the deck. Only one card can be played per turn.” Elfriede was one of the many confused adventurers who had no idea what was going on when they stepped through the portal. Her previous generic leather armor was replaced by the still generic but seemingly high quality duelist uniforms. It seemed that the uniform came in three different colors: some were red, some were yellow, and some, including Elfriede’s, were blue. While it was just cloth armor, the weakest type of armor, it was still of high quality—something made for level nineties. As Elfriede’s Assassin Level was far below ninety, her defense skyrocketed when the raw values were compared. In fact, all of her statistics skyrocketed. What’s going on? Why am I a level ninety Duelist? Are we supposed to play card games now? What’s next? Card games on motorcycles? Looking at her pack of cards, Elfriede carefully read the description and effects of each one. There was an upkeep to many of the summon-able monsters so amassing a small squadron may not be the most efficient method. To Elfriede, the most efficient method was to focus on a few stronger monsters. Each card can only be used once so I have to make the most out of each card. I kind of like this Dark Magician Girl, Eye of Timaeus, Polymerization combo. Still, the God Cards, specifically the Wind Dragon of Ra, also seem rather useful. So hard to choose. |
