A question on blacksmiths, crafting and reforging

First off I would like to say I am sorry if you have answered this question before but, I cannot seem to find it anywhere on the board.

When a blacksmith is going to create any item from the materials he purchases from the shop how is it done in a RP sense?  I mean does he do so by combining the right items in his inventory and it is automatic? Do we have to find a forge and commandeer its use for however long we decide is right for the length of the thread?  Is it possible that we can do both with the drawbacks kind of like cooking meaning if you take the easy way out you get a generic weapon?  Is it possible to purchase a building/forge for your exclusive use later on?

Now, when it comes to the knowledge required to work a forge and the terminology how would a character go about gaining that, I have sorta touched on that in one of my solo threads trying to get blacksmith AP.  I did it that in such a way the knowledge just seems to be there in his mind without my player's conscious access to it in that his eyes know what to look for when inspecting and his mind filling with ideas on how to improve upon it.  Is it going to have to be the same way with his physical skill as well; that his body just knows how to do what it's doing?

Finally, how would reforging equipment work in a role-play sense?

At the moment, there's no real difference between using the menu to craft a weapon and using actual blacksmithing abilities to hone your ability. I imagine that if you were to go beyond using the menu, you would be able to research new or modified weapon types. Exclusive housing forges are on the list of things available later on.

As you gain AP, you will not only accumulate experience from learning how to use the subclass, but your success rates when performing crafts are increased (of course, when you do official crafting, you probably aren't going to fail on purpose, so this is more of an in-character context. The crafting skill will allow you a bit more lenience when performing the craft.)

Reforging is pretty much done as though you were enchanting the weapon. The blacksmith essentially imagines what they want the equip to do in battle and then forges the equip for that purpose. If performed successfully, these concepts literally become reality and can be checked by examining the equip when in the inventory.

Okay I know you have already answered the first question in this thread, but since my new question kind of falls along the same lines I figured I would ask it here, what kind of things would a blacksmith have to research? Do we just research equipment to learn it more subtle stats? Or perhaps we can learn to refine metals? My next question I have had answered in the chatbox but it still doesn't make sense to me, is the beginner equipment recipe the same recipe I use to make more advanced equipment like when people start asking me to make lvl 5 or higher things? Can it be any weapon or is it a generic sword? I have had requests for a katana and a scimitar so far so would they take the same items to craft?

Finally when crafting weapons like swords most of the finishing touches such as the grip and the scabbard are made from leather or the like...could I as a blacksmith do that or would they need to take it to a different crafter to finish it?

Blacksmiths can research better ways to refine metal into things that a Mechanic can use more easily, for example. And although for the time being, all equipment crafts use the beginner equipment recipe, there might be future research where you can craft and reforge in the same recipe, or craft an elemental weapon that can be reforged, or maybe an accessory that counts as a weapon. It's pretty much up to imagination. After you craft anything with the Beginner Equipment recipe, you can speed craft any other weapon. So if you crafted a Lv1 sword normally, you can still speed craft a Lv1 sword or you can speed craft a Lv5 axe for example.

Any decorations like leather grips or scabbards can be done by the blacksmith, so long as they're just small things.
