Selection - Ryker joins the Game. During the process, he makes the mistake of creating a Foxtail character instead of a Human. Footing - Upon joining the game, Ryker begins with searching the starting town and gets a handle on the game mechanics. While doing so, he meets several other players, finds the Fishing Community, and also discovers that he can play as a Fisherman just as he lived it. At the same time, Ryker begins to settle himself in with the community. He learns names, makes contacts, and essentially gets a lay of the land. It is at this same time that Ryker is hit with a lazy block. He doesn't get over this block for several weeks into the game. First Steps - Playing with Wood | Captains Log #1After finally deciding to do something with his life, Ryker goes out into the area around London in search of Woodcrafting materials. It is here that he first meets with Adventurers whom have already begun their own tales; @dindeen and Scoria. With these two players, Ryker finds the base materials for future fishing rods and collects wood for other projects. Violence is Vital - Spreading Some Warmth | Captain's Log #2Without any will to actually continue his fishing rod's creation, Ryker decided to try something else for a change; combat. He traveled out to the Windsor Greatwood and picked a fight with a snake he came across. During his fight, a moving mass of metal come to be known as Eonis appeared. Following the player's appearance, Ryker got his first taste of part combat, or combat in general. It was not a good one. Even with a tank, cleric, and a friendly zone snake, the two players were nearly overwhelmed by the opposing Snake forces. It was but sheer luck that Eonis survived and Ryker just barely escaped being eaten alive. Remember kids, if you aren't prepared to fight, you're going to have a bad time. At least Ryker learned something from it; he sucked at fighting. More Than Just Pretty - Girl In A Tree!With materials in hand, Ryker was not determined to continue with any plotline whatsoever, so he wandered again. While doing so, he noticed a scene between two additional players, followed them, and met another face. One which he found quite interesting in the sense of both beauty and life in general; Ryker met Mab. Curious, Ryker spent quite some time with the new friend and ended up wandering the streets of London with her. Using some of his contacts, which were created during his previous days of wasted life, Ryker was able to gather the rest of the materials he needed for a fishing rod. Learn Your Place - Learning How to SwordStill sour from his near death experience, Ryker decided it was time to learn how to defend himself. He was in a world surrounded by violence, aggression, and just death in general. To counter that, he got the bright idea that he should learn how to fight. What was even more brilliant was that he decided to ask one of the players he had met; @dindeen. It was stupid, foolish, and just outright dumb, but she was kind to him. Rather than ignore him, the Carebear showed up and showed Ryker the ropes of some basic stances and movements. She even summoned her pet rabbit to help! Yea that didn't work. The sight of blood was too much for Ryker and he eventually caved, giving in to his inner disdain for violence. Yet the interaction was well spent as Ryker had learned that he had a long way to go before he could stand out on the battlefield and truly defend others. Until then, he would keep to himself. Sort of. Freaks Exist - The Pink PillI have no idea what happened here, but Ryker was assaulted by some guy who drugged him. Bad things happened. Ryker shouted at some guy thinking he was a superhero, stumbled into a bar, met a waitress who obvious didn't have a thing for him, drank alcohol, then passed out. Protip: Don't take pills from strangers. Another Fox - Prepare the SailsWith a fishing rod and a little more determination to get the hell away from people because of his incident with the Joker, Ryker decided it was time to set sail! Or make them, as he needed to do that. So, he quickly gathered up all the money he had gathered and began to retrieve the necessary materials for a simple boat. While getting the needed wood, one of the logs he was carrying got away from him and a police chase ensued. After the impending climax which left him in extreme pain, Ryker was introduced to another lovely female player; but this time another Foxtail. Her name was Nala, and she was quite intent on riding Ryker's boat so in exchange for her help, Ryker promised she could. [WORDS PENDING] Crafting Allies - Sharpening the Sea StaffAfter hearing the discovery of a new area, the Thames Coastline, Ryker immediately set out for the ocean. Obviously he did so in a completely unprepared fashion and ended up getting lost within twenty minutes of leaving the city of Londinium. Eventually he ended up on the coast after almost four hours but those four hours were not wasted. During his trip Ryker collected plenty of materials he could use during his impending journeys and even found a strong enough piece of wood that he could use for a new tool; a harpoon. Using that piece of wood and his still POS knife, Ryker spent almost two hours carefully crafting his new friend; Orca. |
