If she was going to find a way to return to her original gender she was going to have to master the pharmacy system. If she had unlimited funds she would just sit in her cave in the Great Wood and throw random ingredients into a pot for hours on end and till something took root. She did not however have unlimited funds and from what she could see the current set up for pharmaceutical research was still in its infancy. The materials were just things that had been dispensed the vendors and no one seemed willing to look into what they were really made of. Amazing when you consider how much effort had been put into the new methods of food preparation, this was stating to annoy her. Still she had to level up if she wanted to conduct her research and to do that she actually had to show the system that she was capable of making a simple health potion or as the menu was currently showing her the Medicinal Formula. There was no points in the crafting system for style, she would have gone for that if that were the case.
She had set up one of the basic crafting set ups she had found down her, basically a tin pot and a fire that had been left burning. She assembled her ingredients from her bag, two basic herb samples that she was sure she should have been able to find in the fields or the forest with her Apothecary skill and a bottle of Impure solvent which if she had a chance to do some experimenting she was sure she could purify and possibly on mass if she could find a large enough chamber to do it in. Considering how much it had all cost her the substances she had in front of her seemed depressing. It seemed like she should be able to spread it further than it showed but this was game chemistry and magic. She wondered if she could trick the game system by cutting together herbs from the woods with those she had here. The solvent was something else, she would need need to work out what it was, if it was what she thought, a alcohol or low level acid solution then there may be a way to create a substitute.
She was getting away from herself again, now was not the time for experimentation, now was the time to do what a floating recipe was telling her to do. She flattened out the logs in the fire in front of her, ignoring the burning on her fingers. She needed a steady heat at a high temperature to bring the solvent to a stable heat. Curious she put a drop of the solvent of her finger, flicking it into the fire she watched as the little droplet flickered into a small blue flame before flicking out again. Alcoholic yes but if the weak way its burnt was any indication it was not the only component.
She pored the solvent into the pan and waited for it to come to a slight boil. While she waited to prepared the herbs, logic dictated that they would dissolve faster if she diced them first. Using her dagger she cut up the herbs, making them a fine as she dared. She made a mental note to test the effect of the herbs if she dried them first and if possible if she dissolved them in something else first. If she could separate out what was needed for the potion she could produce them easier and if possible in greater quantity. If she could do that she could sell them, Adventurers and Landers may be willing if the price was good. Mass production was of the first steps to an efficient and profitable business.
