Getting your Feet Wet - - - - - - - - - - What better place was there to find a priest to help someone of the same class out with leveling the class up than a temple? Well, that was the train of thought Jin was following anyways. If temples and priests really had anything to do with one another in this game, which he was fairly certain they did, then there was bound to be one somewhere. Jin didn’t care if they were patching up walls or sitting in a back room counting coin from the easy cash made after throwing a blessing or two on a party looking to ward off curses and the like when heading out to farm creatures and explore dungeons, all he needed was someone to introduce him to the trade. That would be enough for him to start his own path down this road, anyways. Hopefully he could meet someone competent. He knew that Priest wasn’t exactly the class of the strong, burly tanks or the quick, agile assassins. However, he was a sorcerer. Any magic he could get his hands on would be beneficial, even if some of the better effects of skills were reserved for others. The more he could help himself out with his subclasses, the better he’d be able to handle himself. Plus, if he wanted to find a stable group of people to associate himself with, he’d need to prove that he could be at least somewhat useful to them off the field as well as on. He didn’t have to worry too much about it with a class like Priest in his deck. He began scanning the area back and forth, taking in the surroundings. The occasional player popped into existence on the altar, and Jin once again felt comfort in the fact that he could die as much as he wanted to in this world and still not be gone forever. Not that the fact had stopped him from staying alive up until this point, but knowing he always had an out in case push came to shove was nice. Jin gave the wait one minute, and then two, and then five. He didn’t seem to be able to find anyone that looked remotely like the kind of tutor he was looking for. In fact, besides that occasional respawn going on, Jin was almost entirely alone in this place. The orange haired boy let out an exasperated sigh as the wait seemed to stretch on and on. He could be out in the fields killing things and levelling up his much more useful main class at this point, if he really wanted to. However, he had told himself he’d dedicate all of today to working on his Priest subclass, and he wasn’t going to halfass it and say it couldn’t be helped if there was no one around to show him the ropes. He also supposed it would be nice to take a break. So really, if he had to sit around waiting all day for a Priest to respawn or just walk in here, he would. - - - - - - - - - - Words (post): 509 Words (quest): 509

It had been rough few weeks at the main church of London for a single priestess to handle. For starters there was the massive reconstruction that kazuko had done with Hirosame earlier in the week, a task she was glad her monk guildmaster was able to help out with. The other was the always constant wave of adventurers respawning there after being killed elsewhere in the fields. Most of these people just got up and left without having a second thought of having come back, but she always offered a prayer or peace just in case. Today, however, Kazuko found herself stuck in the back room at her makeshift desk running her hands through orange hair.
This whole thing started because, although the church was always busy, it was still free and Kazuko had very little free time on her hands to go outside of town to make the “living loot Eor whatever it was called to get by. She was currently squatting in the church so housing wasn’t an issue but the food and cost of her materials kept piling up faster than she could do quests. “Why can’t that useless sister of mine be here? She said she would help me with these finances together. EThe little girl muttered to herself as she tried to work out how she was going to save up for her shrine as well get food money too. If it came down to it she could try making something using the system, or get cheap or free lander food but that stuff always tasted nasty and like she was going to throw it up instead.
It was around this time that Kagari had wandered to the back as well and waited against the wall until kazuko noticed her. “You seem to have a visitor outside. EShe put simply before leaving the shaman to go elsewhere in the church. By now Kazuko was used to the quite or simple blunt statements her deity made and simply nodded her response. Taking a moment to make sure ears and tails were concealed by the racial spell for Fox Tails Kazuko left the back room and into the main area of the church. When she came out she noticed a boy was standing around looking rather impatient and like he didn’t want to be there in the first place. Maybe he was being forced into coming, or asking a favor for someone else instead?
Putting on a bright smile Kazuko smoothed out her uniform as she approached the boy, stopping a short distance to him to make a formal bow. “Welcome to Westminster Abbey, what brings you here today?" She greeted him in a formal but not all that practiced manner. It wasn’t often she got to greet people coming in other than a passing greeting if she was able to catch them at the alter after respawning. Even rarer if someone actually came seeking her advice or blessing for anything. Maybe a church was a bad place for a shrine maiden after all, and Kazuko would be glad if either she or her guild could ever get a real place built to formally work out of.

Getting your Feet Wet - - - - - - - - - - Jin gave the shrine maiden a once-over as she approached. The girl seemed to work here, if that could be testament to anything. Hopefully she could at least direct him towards a priest if she already wasn’t one. Then again, even if she was a priest, she didn’t exactly look like the type Jin wanted to learn the class from. He was more interested in how the skills related to it could be used in combat than anything else, and the demeanor of the girl did not strike him as the type that got into the thick of things in order to get the job done. ”I don’t suppose you could point me in the direction of anyone who’s got a priest subclass, could you?” the boy asked, not really bothering with introductions. Those would come when they were more necessary, perhaps if they were going to be trading more than passing greetings. For now, Jin was just tired of waiting, and perhaps a little bit on the abrasive side due to it. Things like social graces weren’t at the forefront of his mind. Not that they usually were. ”I’m sort of new on the block, looking to get a handle on the subclass itself, and I figured it would be best for me to start out with someone who actually knew what they were doing.”The request was half-hearted at best, but it wasn’t like Jin was particularly excited about being a priest in the first place. He’d set it up because he’d been looking for something interesting to get into. His main character – one he’d planned to still use while leveling this one up at a slower rate – had a lot of research put into it as to what would be the most effective routes to take in order to maximize combat efficiency. It wasn’t like that mattered now, though. Jin scanned the rest of the building briefly, noting a few areas that seemed to have been repaired as of late – he could tell based on the difference in quality in certain areas. The patch jobs were nice, but they’d need another few days – maybe even weeks – before they fully blended in with the rest of the area. ”Somone ransack this place or something? Looks like it’s taken a bit of a bruising as of late. You’d think people would be more considerate of the respawn area, seeing as it’s the first place you see after you die.”Taking one last once over of the room, Jin sighed. He supposed it wouldn’t be too hard to at least pass his name on to the girl, not like she couldn’t see it already by pulling up his status window. It was probably the gesture that mattered more in this situation though, wasn’t it. His eyes finally met with Kazuko’s – up until then he’d refused to make eye contact. It wasn’t something he did all that often. ”The name’s Jin, by the way. Sorcerer, Pharmicist, Priest obviously. And you are?”- - - - - - - - - - Words (post): 500 Words (quest): 1009

Kazuko remained standing still, keeping a bright smile on her face as she continued to watch the stranger standing in front of her. He still hadn’t said anything and the way he stood there looking her over made her a bit uncomfortable. He did seem to be looking for something though as he would look around the room for something. With the way the person was acting Kazuko was starting to think more and more that they were here for someone else or forced into coming, maybe they were looking around for a friend of theirs to show up or respawn here. When the other adventurer spoke up the question caught the young shrine maiden off guard and it took her a moment to respond. “Oh, um I have the priestess subclass. So did you need me for something?" It wasn’t often that people came into the church asking for someone with a priest subclass, and as far she knew she was the only person with the class. “I can’t offer much right now though, but I can offer blessings to help protect you from curses for a while. Otherwise I just do sermons, which I’m sure you wouldn’t be interested in hearing." She spoke up again explaining what she could currently provide the adventurer as a priestess. When they said they were new Kazuko perked up immediately and her smile got brighter. “Oh so you’re another new priest, that’s wonderful, I can help you if you want its actually really easy subclass to learn." Clasping her hands together began looking around, not much in her church though to help teach people though. Maybe if she took up Scribe as a class she could write these things down better. Kazuko continued to flip through some of her old supplies and remains of the church while the adventurer simply stood there, still not entirely enthused about being there. After some time passed the girl gave a defeated sigh and went back over to the new priest boy. “Sorry about that I guess I don’t have any good teaching materials so if you want to learn I guess it would have to be practical lessons done by hand." She said looking a bit disappointed, to be honest she’d never really gotten a chance to use her priestess subclass out in the open. It mostly entailed cleaning up the church and having short one-sided talks with Kagari. When the boy addressed her after a bit Kazuko tilted her head to the side, a bit confused. How new was this guy? Had he woken up under a rock or something? “No, it’s nothing like that. This church was in really bad disrepair after the Catastrophe just like the rest of London is. Me and my guild leader Hirosame helped patch it up a bit though and other adventurers are busy working on the parts of the rest of the city right now." Shaking her head before explaining what actually happened to the church and the affairs of the city. It was a little amusing so she had to cover her mouth with a small fist to hide the gentle laugh that made its way through. She didn’t expect to have someone here who had forgotten or didn’t know what was happening in their own city upon waking up. Regaining control of herself again as the boy made eye contact with her to introduce himself she bowed politely back to him. “Nice to meet you Jin, my name’s Kazuko. I’m a Shaman, artisan, and of course, priestess." Giving her own introduction in a very formal and polite manner that she had been practicing with. Word Count: 609
