Mab looked at the pink haired girl next to her. Vee was her name. Mab tried to remember everyone’s names because she thought it would be better that way. She was cheery and had a good sense of humor. Mab liked that. It cheered her up, even though she was already in a happy mood, the wry comments the girl made were funny. Her accent was a little off but that did not really matter to Mab. The druid laughed at the question. In truth Mab found it a while back when she was exploring the forest. So one could say she stumbled across it, but Mab felt she discovered it when she was doing her job as adventurer. “I found this a while back.... It is the perfect starter cave.”Mab said. The dungeon wasn’t huge, there weren’t many monsters, but enough to pose a challenge for a beginning group. It did not take long for the group to find themselves standing in front of the cave entrance. They had made their way here without any opposition. The real fun was about to start. The cave entrance had torches hanging in sconces, there was a stairway leading down. The walls where sturdy stone slabs. The stone slabs had remnants of paint on it. An old sign that was to rusted to really see what it said, had a place above the entrance. The only recognisable part of the sign was the very similar symbol that once belonged to the London subway. That was right. They were standing in front of an abandoned subway station. Most parts inside were closed off, by rubble or metro’s but there was a sizeable portion the adventurers could explore. It was not as if the area was swarming with creatures, so the chance of a mob was almost nonexistent. “We’re here!”Mab said sounding upbeat. "If we are ready to go, lets wander down... and I will be guarding the back this time.”The druid told the party. Leaving it up to them to further figure out who went where and why. Once the party would make it down the long flight of stairs, delving deeper into the underground system, they eventually would make it to the first area. From the stairs everyone could see the hallway which led towards the platforms. In the middle of the hallway there were a few slimes slowly sputtering about. They had not yet noticed the group, and everyone could take their stances, or action. A little to the side, there were also a couple of slimes moving about. Mab wondered how the party was going to tackle this first challenge. If they used up their mp too soon they would have trouble later on. However if they took it too lightly they might not really be able to do much hurt to the creatures to start with. OOC: nor Aurora or Guthbrand have responded to my personal messages, and I don't want to hold up this thread indefinitely. So that is why I am posting now. I figure it should still be ok. However by inactivity next time... well then I guess that you lost interest. Note: I did not specify any enemies on purpose. It depends on the active group. If it stays with the current group there should be fewer monsters, so keep that in mind. For now, lets just imagine there are 1 or two for each.. However you like... The slimes are all level 1 and consider the area well lit. Dull Green Slime Level 1 Type: Artificial Life, Amorphous Rank: Normal Nature: Curious Found in: Fields and Forests Weakness/Resistances: None Skills: - Mana Attraction: Passive. Detects targets who use magic-based skills and will approach but not aggro. Description: A lesser green slime characterized by the dull appearance. While it is currently unknown what turns a healthy green slime into a dull one, it is known that these make great training targets for lower level adventurers.

Klide was in the back of the group at first, but when they reached the 'Dungeon', they all seemed to group up and listen to Mab talk. All she said was "We're here!" and then after a pause "If we are ready to go, lets wander down... and I will be guarding the back this time.” Klide normally wouldn't be too excited about being somewhere aside from the front, but now that combat came his way, he had no room to complain. Not that Klide was only fond of combat, but if something out there pissed him off, he could just kill it and shut it up. His problem was that he fought on his own, even when in a group. He never really relied on anyone except the healers, who he hoped would keep him alive. He drew his swords and walked forward, no strategy in mind. He should have waited for the Guardian to charge forward before attacking, but Klide decided to attack anyway. Both swords drawn, he flew down the stairs toward the unsuspecting Slimes. He dragged his blades through one of the Slime's sides as he ran in between them. Then he turned and swiped his blades again, being very liberal with his strikes and slashes. He jumped to the side when it tried to flop on him, and had to roll out of the way when the second pounced. He once again slashed at the wounded one, but it was far to stubborn to die. The slime seemed to let the blade pierce it and kept the blade in its gelatinous body, while the other once again hopped towards Klide. He released the sword and slashed at the hopping one, only to have the one with the blade in it's gut jump and hit his arm. The acidic burn that followed was painful to say the least. Klide, someone who was usually docile and un-expressive, bellowed and drew his sword from its gooey bowels. He slashed at both Slimes over and over, inflicting cut upon cut, until the Slimes were hopping stalks of pancakes. With a final downward cut, the one he'd first attacked evaporated into a shower of sparkles. Word Count: 349 Tags: Mab , Havelock , Inori , U.V. , Bast , Aurora , Guthbrand , pissed-off slimes

We had reached the dungeon and for the moment the light from outside and torches in the area gave everyone easy sight of the enemies, Klide had taken the initiative and gone in swords first to cut through the enemies. Bast took out his harmonica and played a short lively tune to send a rush of energy through his allies Speed Sword Etude was a spell that increased every one of his party members attack speed up and had a minute duration and only a 30 second cool down so he could just keep casting it which is why it was his go to spell for most fights starts, no reason not to hurry peoples strikes he would only use this spell this fight no point wasting MP so put hi harmonica away and took up the spear to go help his comrade fin out the herd of level one slimes. Rushing in to combat he chose to fight two closest on the opposite end to Klide, he felt that the likely hood was the guardian would come in to block any others that tried to come in and the rest would be picked off one by one…but nothing was ever sure with these things…slimes were clingy creatures and if there was anything more annoying than having a slime cling to your bare skin and you have to choose to cut at it and hurt yourself or try methods of less force and chance not removing it so it could still attack you, he hadn’t found one yet. Sighing he kept his at bay with swings from his spear slowly damaging them while keeping them at bay, he tried not to plunge head in just so he didn’t have to worry with scraping off the grime that they are while trying to fight these oozing snot creatures he picked at their health, slowly but surely…safety matters sometimes. He hoped he wasn’t going to fall for the same tricks too many times…hehe, as the first of those he fought dissipated into bubbles he marvelled at the difference a level five weapon made in comparison to how long it took his old sword or axe that he used the last time he combated these foes. Smiling he looked around to see how everyone else was doing. “Yes nice easy dungeon you are right perfect for some basic combat practice.”

f there was one thing that Vee learned from watching copious amounts of horror films or zombie flicks, it was to stay FAR away from places like abandoned carnivals, malls, and/or underground shelters. An abandoned subway was just as bad as a shelter. Had any of these people watched I Am Legend starring Will Smith? If they had, they would know that any kind of post-apocalyptic subways reeked of nothing but bad news and a potential gore-fest. While Vee might have been enthusiastic to watch actors and actresses in films dive head first to their death, she wasn't too keen on doing that herself. With this also being her first dungeon and all, the female gulped and removed the staff from her back, readying it in her hands. Yeah, she was scared. So sue her. She wasn't even going to pretend to be all macho and say that she wasn't. She'd leave the beating of the war drum to someone else and help all she could from the side. Perhaps if the squad approached the dungeon in a strategic way they would stand a chance of exploration with minimal combat. That sure sounded like a good idea. Vee followed the squad deeper into the dungeon and looked around. While it seemed to be lit with crude torches on the inside, it was every bit as decrepit down in the tunnels as it seemed above ground. At least above ground there was still the sun and remnants of plant life. Down here it was dark, damp, and had odd echoes bouncing from the walls which sounded like "Shluuuuck. Shluuuuck." It strangely reminded her of the slimes in Minecraft when cavern exploring. There better not be zombies down here. Or bow and arrow slinging skeletons. Those guys were the worst. Violet eyes glanced over to Mab and Bast once more, which gave her a firmer sense of security. Mab said that this was a lower level dungeon. If that really were the case, then the group would all be fine, seeing as they had two other players above level 20 to aid them. The enchantress sighed and practiced her breathing methods in order to help ease any lingering anxiety. Maybe she might die, but that didn't seem too bad. After all, she had been a first hand witness to the death of another Adventurer, in the beginning with the Catastrophe had only begun, and saw him be revived in the main town's Cathedral. It was apparent that for players themselves, death wasn't permanent. She had no idea about the fate of Landers or other Monsters though. When they died, they only burst into a flurry of bubbles and disappear. For all she knew they got sent off and reincarnated on the other side of the map yet to be explored. Or they died permanently and were to never see the light of day again. That was a depressing thought. The petite female had not realized that she had temporarily lost herself in her own thoughts until some shouting snapped her attention back to the squad. How amateur of her. She was support, yet wasn't paying attention to what her party was doing. Bast had already took action with his harmonica, and Klide seemed to have steamrolled ahead and began slicing and dicing at some slimes. Although the enchantress got herself into the ready position and looked around for any more lingering enemies, there was not much she could do because of her current skill set. Vee was crowd control and harnessed the element of surprise. Without a crowd nor other enemies left to "surprise", the most she could probably do would be to keep an eye on their surroundings and make sure the party didn't get side-swiped by another group of slimes ready for an ambush. But she highly doubted slimes had the intellect to do so. The newly found courage and speed in her body -courtesy of Bast's enchant- led her to take a firmer grip on her weapon and prepare herself just in case any of the remaining slime body parts decided to flop their way over to her before they burst into a flurry of bubbles. She didn't have much of an idea where the rest of the party seemed to have disappeared to, assuming that they must have gotten held-up somewhere behind them. Getting such a large party down narrow halls and into specific rooms did require a certain level of cooperative coordination which she was not sure this party had achieved yet. But she learned to not underestimate the power adventurers had when in numbers. Unless they were trying to kill each other with player kills, monsters nor landers really stood a chance to a mob of determined players. --------------- OOC: Yeeeeep. There were maybe one or two slimes left after both Klide and Bast had done their thing. Neither of them seemed wounded so there was little for the druid healer to do. Mab had already decided to leave the fighting to the starting adventurers. She would only step in if their lives seemed in danger. Right now this did not seem the case. So unconcerned Mab stood next to the enchanter. She looked at the woman with the French accent. With a huge smile she asked the woman, “Are you having fun?”It looked to Mab like the woman had managed to freak herself out well. This was part of the excitement and Mab would not like to take away from her experiences. In fact if she could help facilitate the enchanter, she surely would. It did not seem needed as the shorter girl had steeled herself, she stood ready to deal with anything that would come her way. Mab beamed at the girl while smiling. Though Mab had no clue why the others left, she felt their party connection had been severed. They must have gone home? The druid figured. This saddened the girl as it did not seem impossible to just say good bye, but it was all up to them. Mab was just grateful to the people that stuck around and allowed themselves to experience something unusual. She kept a watchfull eye out on the two dealing with the remaining slimes. Mab did not expect anything unusual. In fact once the remaining slimes were taken care off they would have completed their initial quest. In one of the corner stood a simple wooden chest. Mab pointed it out to Vee. “Do you see it?”Mab asked the girl. Once this level was cleared someone could go open the chest. It would contain gold pieces for everyone. The amount was precisely the amount of posts times fifty, people had written during this little adventure. Mab was not the one opening the chest, she wanted one of the others to do it. It was part of the excitement and the fun. Mab had already done that once or twice. She gladly left it up to others this time. The treasure chest would not spawn a sudden monster as suprise. It would easily open up and share it’s riches. Mab wondered who would be the one to spot the chest after Mab and Vee, well if Vee had seen it? Though it was very likely as it wasn’t hidden really. It was just that other things might just have caused for their attention to go elsewhere first... like the few remaining almost dead slimes. OOC: well this is the last post round for people if they want to claim something from the starter package... People can do what they want, stay in the thread and rp some more, or write their exit post. If people wish to continue I am more then happy to do so. OOC: people had 19 days to post so those that did not,.... well too bad.

Bast was finishing off the few slimes close to him and after doing so, gave himself a pat on the back...well not physically he could do that with his spear but it really didn't feel right especially when the pointy end digs in... not the best thing he can do with his time. instead finding a nice bit of wall to lean against while everyone finishes whatever they are doing. Bast noticed that two of the group Mab and what was the violet haired girls name...ultra maybe...ultimate dot vodka...no no eyes stop trying to cheat by looking at the UI for help... they all introduced them selves what was her name. Choosing to use a nice candlestick built into the wall to give himself a better view of her and what she and Mab were looking at...is that a chest *clunk* it seems the candlestick wasn't made to hold a bards weight pitty. *chunk a lunka chunk* the sound that combined with the weird feeling of the wall part of bast was using for comfort moved back and then into the side, and after the candlestick had given as well he found himself without much balance and fell back on to a wooden square...it gave way too really could nothing hold the wait of an adventurer in this place. Bast would have liked to think these were the thoughts he had while he fell but instead it was (ooh I wonder if my share of the loot will be enough to pay my tab off.) pitty he didn't get to know before he hit the floor. Everything hurt and he could not only hear the mechanism pulling the wood back into place he had seen it flip back...now all he could see was a light in the distances...well no one has ever said going towards a light can be a bad thing. crawling off towards the light he wondered where the rest of the passage his little pit had been hiding above it.. he hoped this wasn't like dark souls he hated those curse frogs the pits had in them. Word count: 350 [only thrown myself down a pit incase you do decide you want to carry this on while i'm away don't wait up for me if your still going when i get back I'm sure i can find my way into things (yes I know how slow it's been and so I prolbably didn't need to do this but moving towards the light would be just as good an ending as any other and could progress if you wanted it to. so that's what i decided to leave here have fun if you continue it.) and opening a passage way didn't seem a bad use of a fallguy.] Tags: Mab U.V. @blazeedge

Klide had finished killing the slimes he'd been fighting. He was tired, and as he looked around to see what everyone else was up to, he noticed that Bast had disappeared. However, it did look like Mab and U.V. were looking at something. Klide looked in the direction their eyes were facing, and saw a medium wooden chest that did not look like anything special. Klide wondered why neither of them had opened it. He bean to walk towards the chest, not sure why he was being this bold but doing it all the same. He was expecting that at any moment, something would spring out from the shadows, or his companions would shout something like "Stop" or "It's a Trap", but he didn't remember hearing anything like that. He reached down for the chests lock, which was so rusty that it crumbled into a bunch of small shards of metal. The metal shards and rust powder fell in between his fingers like sand as he began to lift the top of chest, one hand still holding his sword. He suddenly flung the chest open expecting to get attacked by some small monster, perhaps another slime, but instead he found some gold coins, 200 of which were added to his own coin pouch. Klide let out a breath of relief. He walked away from the chest. The adrenaline from anticipating an opponent was slowly dissipating as he walked. He passed Mab and U.V. Hoping he hadn't done something wrong by opening the chest before any of them, Klide thanked Mab for taking him and the others on this quest. He had not been with them long, but these people were the only people Klide knew in Log Horizon, and he was thankful that he'd met them. After he sheathed his swords and said his good byes to both of the ladies, Klide climbed the stairs to exit the subway. When he reached the outside world again, he instantly looked for a nice tree to nap in. Word Count: 338 Total Word Count: 713+950+410+349+338=2760 Tags: Bast , U.V. , Mab
