We'll chase the dawn that waits for us beyond the darkest sky
Chain wandered down the streets of Londinium aimlessly with a blank expression. Players and Landers alike turned their heads at her due to the choice of pure white hair and the fact that she was such a cute little girl that looked to be around the age of 16 or so. Maybe a bit younger. But no one seemed to approach her as she had this sense of mystery about her. Her stride was proper and refined, keeping a straight posture with head neither looking up or down. Her expression was a mix between blank and stern, not showing any particular emotion as if it was in the 'default setting'. Her pace was slow, about at a leisurely pace for someone who may be looking to enjoy the view, but she wasn't looking around at all. She was just, walking. She ignored people and would occasionally stop at something, tilt her head as if puzzled, then walk on.
The things she got puzzled by were the most random of things. A table, a sign, a chair, a bag, even food. It was like she did not know what they were, or what they were called. Though she lacked the excitement or curiosity that is usually seen when someone does this. At one point, she stopped to look at the sky. It was cloudy grey with a nice temperature without being muggy or breezy. However robotic Chain seemed to be acting, she was still living. As such, her stomach was starting to hurt since she hadn't eaten in a long time. But she had no idea what it meant to eat, or even how to eat. She just knew that her insides were sore without knowing why. She had forgotten many things, especially on how to live. Back to her infantile state of mind.
Continuing to walk around, she bumped into a Lander as she turned a corner. Falling backwards onto her behind, she rubbed her nose a few times and then looked at the Lander who apologized while holding out a hand towards her. Tilting her head at this, she wondered what it meant. Since it was a gesture without explanation, she didn't understand. She could still process words and understand languages, but speaking and even simple actions were lost to her. Bewildered as to why the adventurer was so absent-minded, the Lander picked her up and put her back on her feet, speaking some words of concern. Again tilting her head, she listened but walked off once the guy had finished talking. This wasn't the first time she had bumped into someone today. Previously, it was an adventurer male who seemed really annoyed and eventually clicked his tongue and walked off, leaving her to stand up by herself.
Her mind was a barren plain with nothing on it. It lacked color, people, details, shrub, buildings, everything. Just an expansive flat land. Sure, common knowledge such as gravity existed, but there was no common sense in her head. The knowledge that made up her common sense was gone. All that information was locked away in the back of her mind with her memories and true self which was hiding. Angel was trapped in an endless repeat of everything, locked away deep in her mind with the constant pressure of her memories and bad experiences swirling around her, chaining her down. Chain as she was now was simply an empty vessel, a being there until the real one comes back. A foundation yet to be built on, when put one way. Whether that foundation supports the previous landlord again or if a new building is placed on top is all up to how she grows from now on.
Continuing on random paths, Chain could smell something nice. It was the smell of cake and tea, but she didn't know what those are. All she could do was follow the smell by instinct. Her stomach was empty so it convinced her blank mind to follow the scent to something that can help it. Not that she knows what to do after that. While following that temptation, she came across a street abundant in foodstuffs. Walking along, she looked side to side, going stall to stall and tilting her head at products, without buying anything. She didn't even know if she had money at this point. Like this, she walked further while looking at stalls and bumped into another stranger. This time, she didn't see who it was, she just tripped and fell onto her hands and knees. Sitting there on the ground, she looked blankly up at the person.

Probably the most colorful girl ever seen by most people was skipping happily towards one of her favorite destinations. Since she was on safe ground Mab did not wear her armor. It was just not that comfortable. In this case the druid wore her bright yellow shirt, that had a large smiling sunflower embroidered on it. Wore a red knee length skirt and had red low cut soft leather boots on. She wore her favorite hat, the black high top hat with bunny ears on the side. Mab loved that hat, it was her favorite hat. She had found the hat abandoned somewhere, and had adopted it as her own. It had served her well during her travels as it kept the so few annoying rays of the sun from disturbing her eye sight, and when it rained, it kept out the rain from obscuring her vision. In all fairness; this area had a high chance of rain. It was England, and rain was all too common. This had no effect what so ever on the girls sunny outlook. The girl enjoyed the rain as much as a sunny day. Mostly because she had no control over it what so ever why fret about it, or so the honey blonde druid felt. The store she had found thanks to a friend, was the store she frequented most. Though a tad high on the prices the products they sold there made up for it. The quality was just exquisite. These deserts where not found anywhere else. And the girl had looked around. Not only was the taste of most deserts that where made there, bordering the divine, Mab just really loved deserts. The fourteen year old was skipping merrily on her path to the store of her dreams. In easy time the girl made it there and ordered her all time favorite, the cheesecake. Usually she just ordered a slice but at this time the girl just bought the entire pie. Having it neatly wrapped in a box for easy carrying, the girl left the store after paying the owner, such a nice lady. Mab turned around to go and find the drinks that would go with the cheesecake. Mab was inexplicably happy; why was Mab so happy well the girl had just gotten the best deserts ever found in the entire Londinium greater area. That is why the girl was so happy. The druid decided to turn towards the market. To take a look at the stalls there. Mab had a craving for tea to accompany the lovely cheesecake. As she turned around the druid felt someone bumping in to her. Mab desperately tried to protect her shoppings as it would be such a shame if something happened to it. That she too fell backwards, her hat falling of her head and rolling away a little. Thank goodness the pie seemed fine. Mab turned around to yell at the person who bumped into her, but lost her will to do so as she noticed the empty eyes of the otherwise pretty girl. “Are you alright?”Mab asked kindly, her initial anger totally forgotten. She did turn around to pick up her hat and dust it off a little before she placed it back where it belonged, on her head. One of the ears however stood a little droopy at the moment, however the bright colored girl had not noticed. Mab crouched on her knees in front of the girl so they would be at eye level. The girl decided to introduce herself to the bewildered looking lass. “Heya I am Mab!” Mab waited for the girl to respond. The girls eyes had Mab worried, they seemed so devoid of anything, Mab had a hard time figuring out what could be wrong with the pretty lass. It is true, that hanging out with Tobin might have influenced the girls vocabulary. Never in her life had mab thought to call anyone a lass, let alone think it. Not that it mattered Mab was truly worried about the girl and she was not about to just leave her be.

We'll chase the dawn that waits for us beyond the darkest sky
Chain was sitting in that position which seemed only possible for girls to do. From the sitting on your feet seiza position to spread your feet and sitting between your legs. And she could sit like that rather comfortable with her back no longer straight as she slouched, placing both her hands on her lap as she looked up at the figure who had turned around to face her. The girl spoke some words to her, asking a question. In response, all Chain could do was tilt her head. Her facial expression was absent-minded yet innocent. One of those faces that show that they have the purest thoughts and are not guilty of anything, or in contrast looked like the kind to easily look cute when showing guilt. In any case, Chain had understood what was said but didn't know how to respond to them. She did not even know how to speak.
Keeping her eyes following the girl as she went and picked up her hat, Chain was intrigued about the accessory called a hat. She didn't have one herself, so it was something she did not own, and did not know. If not for her clueless nature, she probably would have grabbed the hat and played around with it. The girl then crouched down in front of her, ending up on the same eye level, making them face to face. She could now see the persons face clearly, not that she couldn't before. She had perfect eyesight in the game, after all, as per the avatar attributes and traits. Hearing what was supposedly an introduction, Chain was bewildered again at this and tilted her head. She could comprehend the words, but couldn't put meanings or definitions to them. But she at least understood that 'Mab' was a name.
Raising a hand, Chain extended a slender finger out to point at the girl in front of her. With this done, she opened her mouth a few times, mimicking the lip movements she had just seen. After a few moments of fumbling, a voice finally started to become audible. Her voice was soft and clear, though lacking some emotion both because of who the player was and because Chain herself at the moment did not know how to change her tone of voice. 「M... Mi... Mah... Maa... Maa.. b... Ma... b. Ma, b. Mab. Mab.」 After struggling to get out that name, Chain showed a frustrated expression for a little while, and then with more emotion and a sort of happy tone, she said it one more time. 「Mab. Mab! Mab?」 The first one was in confirmation, then the second was happy. However, on the third one, she tilted her head and posed it as a question as she pointed at herself.
Next, she pointed at the hat and said Mab again. After doing it for a few more things, she returned her hand to her lap and looked downward. Her face was starting to show frustration and sadness. She was confused and unsure about so many things that it made her feel down. Once again, she pointed at herself and said Mab while looking at the actual Mab. It was as if Chain was asking if her own name was Mab, but she didn't know. Her HUD settings were set so that no displays at all were displayed. Names, health and mana bars, character profiles, nothing. None of it showed up for her, and she didn't even know how to access that window. She was like a newborn child, oblivious to how the world works. She looked disheartened and it showed on her face, if only a little.
Chain didn't attempt to stand up. She just sat there on the ground. She knew how to get up, but it was like she had no reason to stand up. What she had done thus far was imitate what she had seen other people do, when she had actually taken the time to watch what other people do. Some would say she looked mysterious, some would say she was childish, while others would just write her off as cute and absent-minded, maybe a ditz. She was a mix of all of these, so even her own mind didn't know what she was like. It just went along with whatever flow there was to follow. Looking at Mab again, Chain opened her mouth over and over again like before, but no words came out. After several attempts, she finally managed to say parts of a sentence. 「H... He-... I... -m... Mab. -ya... a-... -ab.」 She was trying to repeat what she had heard spoken to her.

The druid’s frown appeared on her brows as she watched the white haired girl stutter and try to speak Mab’s name. It was disconcerting to say the least. Either this girl was playing to be very lost in her head, or she really was. Mab had seen it with some people when the apocalypse happened, people somehow lost themselves in the new reality, and did not wish to be themselves anymore. Mab at times too felt like she was in wonderland, where no real harm could befall her, no matter what the antics she pulled. However Mab had led a sheltered life back in the real world, and though her parents might have ignored her to further her career, she did believe they cared about her, just not enough to want her in their lives. Mab felt no remorse or homesickness, Mab was happier here then she had ever had been. She had no life back in the real world she was hoping to get back too. Mab felt unsure what to do, but one thing she knew for sure, she could not leave this girl alone. Understanding that the girl was trying to find back her words, Mab just pointed at random stuff to give it names. “Tree; hat; cake; ground;…” Just trying to figure out how fast the girl would pick it up. Deciding to get up from the ground because the two were slightly in the way of people passing by, the druid helped the girl up to her feet. She did this if the white haired girl allowed it by gently grabbing the girls hand and pulling her to her feet. If allowed Mab would not let go of the girl’s hand but instead would lead her to a bench nearby. Naming it as she gently made sure the girl would sit on it. Mab made her cake appear and with her knife she cut out two slices. Mab made sure that the absent minded girl also got a slice by placing it in her palm. To show the girl what needed to be done with the fabulous tasting cake Mab showed her by taking a bite from her own slice. She did make sure the girl noticed what Mab was doing. Mab could not hide her look of delight as she processed the food that was in her mouth. The sweet taste that made this pie was just too good. “Cheesecake!” Mab said slowly while pointing towards the cake. And made another eating motion, as to encourage he girl to try it. Mab loved this cake as it had a taste so good it made her wanting more. But not everybody loved the taste so Mab just hoped she did the girl a favor, and not a disservice. Mab waited to see what the look on the girl’s face would be. It had taken Mab quite a long time to find foods with actual taste. She had cried the first time she ate food that had actual flavor.

We'll chase the dawn that waits for us beyond the darkest sky
Hearing the new words, Chain pointed at the same things again and repeated the words, albeit with broken syllables. After a few times, she managed to get it well enough. A moment later, the blonde girl, Mab, grabbed the hand that Chain had used to point at things and brought her to her feet. Not bothering to let go since there was no reason to let go, she obediently followed the leader. Plopping down on the bench beside the girl that appeared to be of similar age, physically, the white haired girl just sat there with a blank expression, staring at random things around her. Feeling something in the palm of her hand, Chain looked down at it to find a squishy, soft and yet firm substance. It was well shaped but she was unsure what it was. Her expression was a bit wrinkled as she stared at the piece of cheesecake inquisitively.
Looking up at the one who offered the item, Chain watched the blonde one put a similar piece to her mouth, put some inside and then swallow. Her face all the while was ecstatic with joy. Hearing the name of the item said out loud, Chain pointed to her own and tried to speak it. 「Ch... dzu... Keh... ku... Chii... dzu... Kee... ki? Cheese... cake... Cheecay.... Cheecay!」 In the end, she simply used two syllables of the entire name. With a smile on her face from learning a new word, she watched Mab eat it and decided to imitate it. Putting the cheesecake slowly towards her mouth, she opened wide and closed her lips around it, biting off some of the dessert and feeling the taste run across her taste buds. Her face lit up like what she was experiencing was the best thing in her life ever. Which was quite true.
For the newborn Chain who had no memories or experiences, everything she was doing was new. Deep inside her, she had gone through everything before, but with them all gone, she could rediscover everything again. This time, each experience wouldn't be haunted by the horror of what awaited or preceded it. A clean state at the cost of her mind and body, and possibly her sanity as well. Such a pure vessel could so easily be tainted by another. At least with the one she was with now, the path she followed could be bright. Whether her memories would return over time or not was still unknown. They could be triggered, or they could just come back on their own. Maybe they may never come back, and the one to wake up in reality would be a 12 year old girl who only know how to live a game.
Since Chain had her interface set to be disabled, and did not know how to access her menu, no one would really notice that she wasn't using it. It would have been handy so that she could know what she was holding in written language. On top of that, she was literally wearing everything she owned, besides her music instrument. With her stomach rumbling, she swallowed her mouthful and opened wide for another bite. Taking a larger portion this time, her fingers were also in her mouth as she bit down. The result was not noticeable at first as her face slowly turned to a frown, then teary eyed as she dropped her cheesecake and held her hand out in front of her, silently crying with tears falling. Instead of crying like a baby with a loud voice, she simply pouted really badly with tears in her eyes.
But what depressed her the most was the moment she looked at the ground and saw her cheesecake ruined. Not knowing much, she knew enough that food on the ground was inedible. Mouth opening and closing now, it looked like she was gonna break down in a hissy fit crying. Still, her expression was so adorable and cute that she seemed a bit hard to ignore. Holding in the sadness, she worked on wiping her fingers and drying the tears on her cheeks before looking at her red fingers where she had bitten them. She was still crying, but she didn't let her voice out at all or complain. Ever so slightly, that unconscious action of being self-reserved and stoic had stuck with her. When she was a child, she was struck whenever she acted unseemly. Not that she could realize that now, but it didn't jolt her memories in the least, be it thankful or not.

Mab did not know what to think. Physically the girl seemed unharmed. Her mental state was one that could be seen as the problem. Had this girl lost herself when the game became the reality. Mab felt this as liberating, others felt trapped.... Well that was off course their prerogative. Mab had not seen a case as severe as this. Where the girl seemed to have lost all thought, memory and function save for some basic functions. How dangerous this would be for the girl. Bad people could influence this girl do to some strange stuff if they caught wind of it. Mab was not one to bring trouble to people so she decided to help out the girl for the foreseeable future. It started with feeding the poor chick. She broke the remaining piece of cake in to smaller pieces, offering the girl a small piece at a time. This so she could focus on the eating, and not drop whatever it was she was holding. Every now and then Mab would switch it up with helping the girl to drink some water. The way Mab did this was twofold. First she showed the girl what she was doing as she took a sip from the water bottle. How to hold it and how high to hold it. Mab even showed her what happened if she held it too high... Yep that meant the druid plashed water on herself, but it was better shown than anything else. ] “Water!”The blonde druid said to the girl to explain what she was drinking. It was an unassuming drink, tasteless really, but it did what it was supposed to do, namely to cleanse thirst. Mab looked at the child-woman. “You want to try?”The druid asked asked, while making drinking motions and pointing at the girl. The communication was slow but what could one expect. Mab would help the girl and made sure she would not pore water on herself by mistake. To ensure that water went where it was supposed to. Mab was concerned about this girl, but had no clue as to what to do longer term. Mab hoped that she would regain some of her senses. It would be difficult for the girl to survive otherwise.

We'll chase the dawn that waits for us beyond the darkest sky
Chain was still pouting, but upon seeing that more cheesecake was being handed to her, she felt happy again as she stopped sobbing and put the bite-sized piece in her mouth, being careful of her fingers this time. As the texture spread across her taste buds and delivered that sweet sensation, a smile came back to those rosy cheeks of hers. That soft, pale white skin seemed to accentuate the color in the cheeks when she displayed emotions, as it seemed to be one of the few things about her that wasn't white. A white equipment, white hair, white skin tone, it was overwhelmingly dazzlingly white. Her eyes would be one of the other exceptions. Munching peacefully with a smiling face, she looked like a little kid around the age of 10 or so who just got a treat for being good. Watching Mab with a tilted head and a puzzled look, Chain wondered what she was doing.
With the act of drinking water being demonstrated, Chain watched patiently as she observed. Her mind was processing it all and understanding quick enough what each action meant, but it was only understanding was was being shown. As for when she does it herself, or for when she encounters something she wasn't shown, she probably won't handle it as well. When the blonde girl next to her spilled the water on herself, she couldn't help but started laughing merrily at her. She did not know what humor was, but she seemed to still have a faint recollection of the concept somewhere in her head. Laughing at Mab, Chain looked like she was truly having fun now compared to the lost girl from before with no life in her empty eyes. When told that it was water, she answered back and managed to say it properly, but she answered with what was a foreign tongue.
「Mi-zu!」 And she was still separating the syllables when talking. Still, she sounded joyful enough so it must be alright like this. When offered the drink, Chain accepted it with both hands, and put it to her mouth. She tilted it up and up, swallowing as it reached the back of her mouth. After a few gulps, it seemed like it got caught in her throat from taking in too much in one mouthful as her cheeks expanded and the water came back out with a few coughs. The water went all over her... partially clean clothes and she was left with an open mouth that was taking in air, coughing a few times as the remains of her drink dribbled down her face. When she finished coughing, she gave a smile with white teeth bared, looking at Mab.
It didn't look like she was paying much attention to her clothing at all, not minding that she was drenched in the front now. She was still in the starter cloth equipment, so she was wearing what appeared as a white tunic similar to the leather but without the extra protective breastplate strapped around her torso, and she was wearing a white skirt about the length of her knees. It was of a thick material, so it wouldn't go see-through at least. The bottoms of he dress-like skirt was stained with dirt, along with some parts of her rear from sitting and falling, and in bits and places across her top, with a few specks of dirt on her skin. It looked a bit faded and runny too, like it had been in the rain and spread somewhat. With her level being seven and somehow with income, she could probably afford some proper gear.
Munching down the last of her cheesecake, Chain then rubbed her eyes. She was getting tired after eating now. Not to mention, he had it rough since becoming like this with barely any sleep on top of the lack of food and water. Giving a tired smile, she tugged at Mab's sleeve, but didn't let go and just stayed like that, similar to a child without company not wanting to be left alone. Looking up with those half-pleading yet innocent eyes, she spoke the one word she knew best at this time. 「Ma-b... Mab... Mab...?」 She probably didn't know what to do now. She had spent her entire time wandering around without purpose until now, and she didn't want to go back to that loneliness. Just thinking about being separate from the one person she had gotten familiar with, her eyes got a bit watery, but he refrained from doing anything else.
