When Klide awoke from his slumber, he had an unshakable feeling that today would be an interesting day. He sat on the edge of his bed and dressed slowly. As he left the room, he pushed his sheathes through his belt. He left money on the unattended counter and exited into Londinium's busy streets. Making his way through the crowds, he saw a few people he recognized, but he couldn't remember their names. He went on toward his favorite breakfast stall, and orders his usual eggs and bacon as soon as he reached it. After paying the kind couple that owned the stall, he left with a quiet "Thank you." Being in the mood for some training, Klide walked toward the Savill Flower Grove. He passed a small section of the forest and saw some adventurers whaling on a boar. He walked on, in the direction of his favorite spot. A place he'd dubbed 'Eden'. He'd discovered 'Eden' when he was out hunting weak mobs. The field of flowers was interrupted by a small patch of forest which Klide had decided to explore. He had walked for about a minute before a clearing appeared. In the clearing was a small lake, and on the lake there was a small island covered in tons of different flowers. Half-way there, Klide got distracted by a fat boar stumbling through a patch of flowers. He drew his swords and charged the brute. Jumping over it as it attempted to charge at him, Klide spun around and slashed at it's hind legs. He misses one, but managed to go deep with the other, and even scraped bone. He pulled back and ran around the boar in a large circle. He kept his swords slicing gashes into it's tough hide and eventually it slowed down enough for him to take it out without much resistance. Klide stood over the weakened boar, and stabbed his swords through it's plump chest. He sheathed his swords as the corpse evaporated into a bubbles and sparkles behind him. after that fight, Klide decided to get a drink. He walked over to a near by stream, and washed his sweaty face. after sitting against a tree by the banks of the stream, he watched various others attacking mobs, and eventually shut his eyes. When Klide opened his eyes again, he saw a young figure he thought he recognized off in the distance. She seemed to be going for a morning stroll. Suddenly, from a patch of trees to his right, a boar charged toward her. Klide jumped to his feet and began chasing after the boar. However, before he could reach it, a group of adventurers appeared. With arrows sprouting from it's sides, the boar dropped, allowing for a spear-man to finish it off. Klide walked up to the adventurers and thanked them for dispatching the boar so quickly, then he walked over to the woman, to check if she was alright. Word Count: 496 Tags: Inori

"Come on girl! Could you at least please take a moment and consider it?" Inori truly was at the end of her rope. She honestly couldn't stop even for a second to "consider" with these people. Frankly, each and every one of them could go and die in a ditch somewhere faaaaaaar away from her. All she had wanted to do that day, was to actually start doing some priestess like things... Such as... Ehh... Banishing evil spirits? Not like she knew how to do such a thing in the first place, however! That doesn't change the fact that they hindered her from doing so. So who are they one might ask? Apparently, a small group of adventurers, like herself, had found an interest in her and they insisted that she would be their "healer". It was obvious that this was a false claim, an entrance for whatever possible lewd things they might be imagening. How might she be so sure if that? Not only was she about 10 levels below these people, but they had even openly declined to other, more effective healers that was around their own levels. The only difference between these volunteers and Inori herself, was that they were either male or clearly small and insecure children.
Before Inori even was aware of it, she had gone out of Londonium and was walking to no specific location whatsoever. For a moment, she became worried and looked back towards the adventurers that were following her. What if they might be a group of those players called "Player Killers"? PKs in short... Well, either they wasn't aware of their opportunity, or they were planing on where the best place to kill her would be. "Go away from me you creeps! How far will I have to go away from you to understand that?! I even told you a dossen of times in Londonium that I won't be joining your group!" Seriously... This party had pestered for far too long. The most frustrating thing about it, was that she couldn't really do anything against them. There were three of them, and they were all at least 10 levels above her. The best thing she could do was to ignore them, hoping for luck that they get tired and give up on her. An hour and a half had gone since she left the inn she'd been staying at, they had seen her the second she came out of that building... And yet... There was still neither sign of any luck or hope that they'd leave her alone.
"I guess it's better to think about something else than to worry over nothing..." Even if they were PKs and had plans for such things... There wasn't really much she could do about it. They'd probably take her out in just a few hits, and then the amall amount of money she actually had, would be gone. She took a good look around herself and was surprised, in fact... She was quite shocked when she saw the large amount of flowers that gathered in patches on the ground. Normaly, she might actually have enjoyed this moment together with it's beautiful view! "If it wasn't for a certain nearby group that is..." She muttered to herself, more than slightly aggravated over her situation. What snapped her out of her self-pity was a multiple pair of heavy, loud steps that seemed to come closer and closer towards her. She turned around in a dramatic fashion, to meet eye for eye on what was currently charging her in a fast, powerful deathfrenzy. It was a boar that seemed to have made the decision that she would become it's daily unlucky target. Ofcourse it was way too late to react to the beast at this point. She had given it far too much time to close the distance between them. All she could do was to close her eyes and to brace herself fore the inevitable impact.
But there was nothing... Slowly she opened her eyes, just to see that the group of adventurers that had been following her all of this time actually saved her. They were currently on their way to "loot" the thing and Inori saw someone she miiiiiiight know coming towards her. Well... At least it felt like she had seen him before somewhere. A majority of people would rationally think that one should thank the "heroes" that saved her from a painfull tackle. But honestly, Inori gave off a slight sly smile and saw a big opportunity. When the brown haired fellow finaly arrived next to her, she didn't even give him a slight moment to say anything. She simply took a firm grip on his collar and jerked him with what strength she actually had toward and into the closest bush. She then gripped him tightly and put a hand over his mouth, probably succesfully due to a slight confusion on the mans side. "Shhhhhh!" Inori uttered out. "These people have stalked me all day, and I'd rather not have it staying that way!" She said as quietly as she could. For now, she had planned to hide in the bush until the others had went away. Well... That was the plan, if this familiar person actually agreed to be nice and follow her scheme.

Klide had just gotten over to the figure, who he now recognized as Inori. He was about to open his mouth and ask her if she was alright, when a firm grip formed around his collar, and he was launched into a bush. A most humorous sight to be certain, but it was a confusing experience. He was about to question her when a soft hand clamped over his face like a vise. He decided it better not to resist, as Inori usually had a reason for doing things, even if that something was launching an old ally into a bush. She shushed him just to be sure he stayed quiet, and sure enough her explanation came. He sat there, removing her hand from his face if she'd allow it, and listening to her tale. The men were stalkers coming after a pretty girl, and she seemed to prefer that it didn't stay that way. Klide had noticed that they were high level players, and decided that fighting was not a good option. He instead grabbed Inori's hand, if she'd allow it, and walked her further into the vegetation. He was careful to make sure she didn't trip over anything, and guided her towards 'Eden' despite it being a place he didn't really want other people to see, thinking they would likely destroy it. Inori didn't seem like the 'Destroy the nature' type, so this might not be too bad. She needed someone to help her, and Klide was the one present at the time. He'd begun to learn about building friendships, and getting close to people, and he didn't want her to be stuck with creeps who'd do god knows what if they had her. He drew one of his swords and cut a branch that stood in their way, and a burst of light came from the clearing that stood before them. Klide released Inori's hand (if she allowed him to hold it in the first place), and presented the place with a small smile. "this is Eden." He told her about how this lake was, or at least seemed to be, undisturbed by anyone aside from him, and offered it up as a option if she ever needed a place to hide. The vegetation around it was thick, and the forest was big enough that it would take a lot of time to find it if one didn't know where they were looking. After offering Eden off to Inori, Klide lay down among the flowers and closed his eyes. If Inori had anything to say, he would gladly listen. Other wise, Klide would just relax until he felt that the danger had pasted. Fortunately, no mob ever seemed to spawn in Eden, aside from the occasional Slime, and Klide had already grown rather adept at basic combat despite his low level, so a slime or two would not be a problem. He waited and listened to the birds, breeze, and water. He opened his eyes when a shadow passed above him, but it was only a falcon, searching for it's next meal. Word Count:515 Tag: Inori

They were hiding in the bush for a while and Inori, whilst certainly embarrassed of draging Klide into all of this, was certainly happy with that the stalkers didn’t seem to come their way when they were looking around for her. She didn’t have time to react to when Klide suddenly took her hand and started leading her through the growths. The idea itself of making distance from the high levled wasn’t that bad actually. But she couldn’t help but to fear that the adventurers might have been able to hear the rustling generated from the bush as they took their leave. She felt insecure during the entirety of the road to this place called ”Eden”, her ears stood high and attentively, reacting and moving towards every sound that wasn’ made by the Shaman or the Swashbuckler.
Once they were there, she could feel the heavy burden lift of her chest and allowed her to be relaxed… At least for the moment. But she had to admit, the field was gorgeous. Countless spots of exotic flowers spread over the grass and the nearby watersource gently reflected the warm sunlight, almost as if making the place look like it was glittering. She wouldn’t be surprised if the term ”serene” had been induced thanks to a place like this. She hadn’t even realised that Klide had let her go and was only half aware of what the human was saying about the place. ”It’d be wonderful to have a shrine built up here…" She quickly thought. But it was probably for the best that she didn’t take such an action to this area. Even if it was beautiful, she would need more space than this, and it’d be inconvenient for the townspeople, or anyone for that matter, to take themselves over here.
She brought her hand together when she suddenly came to a realisation. ”Thanks for cooperating so nicely without resistance before Klide. They just wouldn’t let me go when I told them to. I started to get worried too so I’m glad they’re finaly gone… I am truly grateful” She gave him a deep bow in appriciation. A ”friend” he might be, but she still had to keep up the act of the graceful miko. She had decided to follow this role since the character Inori was created, so she was sure as damn hell going to follow it. It was what to be expected from such an induvidual as herself. If she were to start a religion here, she had to have something that allured the people and influenced them. ”Well, I won’t disturb your peace here anymore, so you don’t need to worry about things like entertaining a lady whilst waiting this out.” She said with a friendly but distresseds smile. ”I have som buisness whilst I’m here anyhow~”
She took a good look around herself, trying to spy which one of the flower groups that looked the loveliest and the healthiest. It took her a few moments to find what she thought she was looking for. Closing the distance between them, she inspected the spot of flowers and was satisfied with both her judgement and the flowers themselves. But she wasn’t ready for what she was about to do yet. She proceeded with walking towards the water source and just a few inches from the edge of it. It’d probably be a piece of cake to make her fall down into the cold liquid even if it was just a light push. ”It’s not really ideal but… I don’t really have many more options, now do I?” The water looked fresh and clean, it was probably partwise thanks to it that this place keept itself this prosperous. But she would have wanted it to be holy… Not that one could expect holy water out in the wild anyhow, it became holy water around holy and religious sites, habitable place for the gods. She brought out a wooden water scoop that she’d had made in Londonium, and scooped up some water whilst she held the handle in her left hand. She carefully poured the water throughout her whole hand, and then repeated the action to her left hand, holding the handle in her right. And after that was done, she poured some water into her left hand again and applied it on top of her mouth. Without consuming any of it.
She was finaly ready and walked back towards the flower spot, sat on her knees in a straight formal position, took out a coin from a pocket and put it in between the flowers, bowed deeply two times and closed her eyes. ”Dear Konohanasakuya-hime, I hope this sloppy message of mine gets through to you correctly. You have my deepest apologies of not undergoing the proper rituals or even at a shrine for that matter. My only hope of you taking the slightest of notice at me, is due to the great care and prosperity you’ve brought to this region I’m currently praying at. I wish the continuation to the great growth of this greened land and hope dearly that you, and many other kami will aid me in my pursuit of spreading the Shinto to this place.” Inori opened her eyes and made of two firm claps with her hand, and then bowed deeply once more in front of the flowers before she helped herself up on her feet and gave a long stretch towards the sky. You became quite stiff from all the knee sitting and from holding your spine straight after all.

Klide watched the falcon circle above for a few moments. He heard Inori saying that she wouldn't disturb him anymore, not that this was a disturbance, in fact he was happy to have a companion at his secret spot. When she mentioned entertaining a lady, Klide felt a bit bad for not offering anything, though there wasn't much to offer in an isolated place like this. He lied in the flowers for a bit longer, until he heard the trickle of water pouring over something. He sat up in time to see Inori put something in between some flowers, then she started saying some things that Klide couldn't quite make out. He assumed it was some sort of prayer when she clapped her hands together, sending a few droplets of water soaring through the air. When Inori got up to stretch, Klide was fairly certain that she was done with her prayer. He walked over to her and looked down at the spot she had just been kneeling in. He saw the shiny thing she'd put down and recognized it as a coin. He decided he wanted to make an offer that he hoped Inori wouldn't refuse. Klide walked over to the other side of the lake, reaching it after a few minutes, and began pulling a few branches and vines off the side of the forest. He knew that what he was looking for was not far behind them. There was an old shack around there, probably a copy of one from the London back in the real world. The shack he'd come across was very overgrown and half the roof had collapsed from age. However, there was a row boat inside, which he had not touched until now. He finally got through all the overgrowth on the doorway, and walked inside to find the boat still in great condition, despite being very overgrown itself. Klide tugged at the boat to loosen it from the gnarled vines and roots which held it firmly trapped. After a few minutes of such struggling however, he realized that pulling alone wouldn't help remove the boat. He drew his sword and slashed through some of the overgrowth, but a lot of it was too thick for a single slash to cut it (no pun intended). He hacked and slashed at the roots and vines for a few more moments before the boat was free enough to be pulled out without a struggle. he sheathed his sword and pulled at the boat until he could get behind it and pushed it the rest of the way out the threshold of the house. The boats oars were tucked away safely inside of it. Klide began to run back to Inori to make his offer, though he had an odd feeling as he did so. He thought he saw a figure next to her, although it was probably just his mind playing tricks on him. Word Count:489 Total Word Count:496+515+489=1500 Tags: Inori

When she was finaly done with her stretch, she suddenly realised that Klide stood not too far from her where she had made her prayer. What made things a bit more awkward, was that he didn’t really say anything… Or even looked at her for that matter. He seemed to be lost in thought, staring down at the spot of flowers at which of she’d prayed in front of. She decided to reach out to his shoulder, seeking to find out an answer from the mans strange behavior. But she was too late, because the man in question turned around and walked away in the exact moment of which she was going to pat him on his shoulder. She followed his figure as he walked his way to the other freaking side of the lake. Was he tired of her perhaps? How rude… But ofcourse, it feelt like she could have realised it if it really was that way. So she pushed those accusations from her mind at the moment, and strained her eyes to see what he was doing on the other side of the river. All she could see, was how Klide was pulling and struggeling with a sound amount of roots and vines. He then disappeared out of her sight, through some doorway. Clueless of what he was doing, Inori sat down on the grass and pulled her legs towards herself… Only then, did she hear quiet movement on the grass and the gentle sound of shifting cloth in motion behind her. She was about to turn around and check what it was, but was stopped by pure white, elegant arms swept her into a tender embrace. She could feel that an unknown person placing their head on her shoulder to rest and long, well cared black, smooth silk like hair was all that Inori could identify of this person from a glance at her angle. ”My, my… What could I have found here I wonder? A golden egg perhaps? What is your name child?" Said ???. It was a incredibly soft and soothing voice that spoke directly into Inoris bleach fox ears. She could clearly recognise that it was a female voice speaking right into her. It was an indescribably wondeful feeling, almost making her shiver from the pure sensation. What surprised her even more, was that this being didn’t speak english to her. It was in Japanese! What more was that she now realised that the arms embracing her showed of sleeves from a incredibly detailed pink-white kimono. Innumerable amounts of sakura flowers had been woven into the lovely garment with great care. Inori wouldn’t dare to guess how much one of these would have cost back home in Japan. Calling it a masterpiece was an understatement, it was outright sacred in quality! ”M-my n… My n-name is Inori…” Said Inori, stammering for some reason unknown to her. This person was simply too bright, it was probably too much for her to handle and resulted her in showing of her true shy nature. ”Really~? Can I take your word on that dear? It’s true that I can feel you’re not lying entirely, but it’s not true either. Is it?” ??? said with a playful but investigative voice. Inori freaked out a bit, the person realised this, and deepened her embrace around the fox. ”Shh, shh, shh… Don’t worry child. No need to get that worked up now. I’m not here to hurt you, so could you please mention your real name to me?” Inori hesitated a little. She didn’t sound hostile at all rather, Inori almost feelt a motherly feeling from her. This person could read her like a book! ”My real name is Kishimoto Rei…” Inori finaly admitted. ”Good girl Rei! Thank you my dear.” The woman talked to Inori like as she was her child or her pet dog and started petting Inori affectionately on her head. Inori was embarrassed to a point that she could actually die, but she endured it for the sole reason of the feeling from the womans petting skills. If one were to describe it, Inori gave of a face as ig a cat was being cuddled with by it’s owner. ”As a reward I guess I’ll tell you my name too… My name is Konohanasakuya, princess and goddess to flowers and cherry blossoms, second daughter of the mountain god Ohoyamatsumi, wife of the god Ningi from the Amaterasu family line and often called the symbol or avatar of delicate earthly life. I believe you prayed for my assistance?” Inoris eyes shoot up in chock, in the blink of an eye. In a rapid motion, Inori tried to turn around and get a good look at this supposedly goddess. But… She was hindered by an unknown powerful force, forcing Inori back into the kamis gentle arms. ”Now, now Rei. Don’t be too hasty with me now. We kami are quite old by now you know?” The goddess said… But it would normaly be quite hard to believe, considering the great amount of care and the unbeatable smoothness her pale arms showed off. It would surely make even the most beautiful of women jealous enough to such an extent that they could kill for it. ”I’m quite interested in you, you know? I was seriously not even aware of this worlds existence until the moment your prayer slipped through my old ears. None of the other kami should not know of you yet either, how does that feel sweetie? You’re the lone miko in this world thus far and have even caught the attention of a person like me. Your parents must be quite proud wouldn’t they be? Ohh… But too bad that they aren’t here with you. They are all the way back in Tokyo, Japan. It’s quite a distance you’ve managed to put between you, holding a grudge perhaps?” The goddess suddenly snuggled up to Inori as far as she could and continued to pat her head. ”I’m just messing a little with you child!” She said in a happy tone. ”Even if you were the lone miko in this place, I’d never answer you like this if I didn’t feel how pure and earnest you were.” Inori was at a loss of words. This wasn’t what she had expected from a goddess at all. And all of these compliments and flattering? She had no idea what she’d done to deserve this from a goddess of such high position. ”Anyways…” Konohanasakuya said in a slightly more serious manner. ”You wished for my support in your quest to spread the Shinto here, didn’t you? Well then… As for my answer to that wish, I have to refuse.” Inori couldn’t believe her ears. ”Wha-!” ”I am not done talking!” The goddess snapped out as she interrupted Inori sternly. ”I refuse to aid you in your goal, unless you complete a little trial of mine.” She said in a much nicer tone this time. Now it made a bit more sense to Inori… But she couldn’t see the reason why the goddess didn’t say so directly. Inori gave of a nodd as an approval of hearing the trial out. ”As you might know, being a kami of life itself give me a huge responsibility to keep it in order so that nature can take it’s natural way.” Inori just nods in response. ”Well then, as you might not know, or rather… Don’t know of, there is a novice witch in this forest, brewing and experimenting up numerous kinds of draughts and poisons which she thereafter test out on the forest itself. As you might imagine, I don’t really find much consideration for such people and I loathe the way that they’re polluting and destroying my domains.” Inori started to get a gist of what this trial was going to be about by this point. ”But it is not my role to stop such people, neither is it even possible for me to do such feats. So instead of doing it myself… I have to turn myself to my sweet adversaries. Yes, someone like you dear. If you truly want my blessing in this world from now on, I want you to dispose of this threatening evil that’s taken this place as her home. Will you accept my conditions Inori?"Suddenly, a pop-up up window with a message appeared in front of Inoris eyes. Response from the flowered blossom-princess The daughter of the mountain god and the avatar of life has affirmed your existence and came to meet you in person! Being a singularity as a shinto miko in this dimensional plane, the kami Konohanasakuya has found enough amusement from you to consider your prayer. However, the goddess refuses to support Inori without any kind of trial, to prove that she would be worthy of such a blessing. Quest Requirements To recieve a blessing of the flower-princess, you need to ridd the forest from a apprentice Witch, whom have been polluting an area deep inside the forest. Slay her and save the forest from her corruption. Rewards If you accept and complete this quest: The goddess of life will be pleased by your actions to save the forest and will support your actions from now on, in your adventure to spread the shinto onto the lands. If you decline this quest: You will disappoint not only the life goddess, but also every single one she mentions thus to. Displeasing the gods is not a simple matter, and should be best to be avoided at all cost. You won't be able to continue call out priestess abilities anymore in this class until you've changed religion with this choice.
Accept this quest? What was happening was genuine. A official quest window had actually appeared in front of her, and she could either choose to take it, or let it go. But she didn’t really have a choice in the matter if you really looked at it. If she accepted the quest, she’d gain the favour of a kami and possibly more, but if she declined, she’d be abandoned by them for going against her gods. ”I’ll gladly accept this quest Konohanasakuya-himesama. Where is this witch you’ve been mentioning to me?” Inori answered steadfast and firmly. You have accepted this quest.
The god however, didn’t seem to really care about her formalities that much, and pulled Inori into another even tighter embrace, making it quite hard to breathe with the goddess unnatural strenght to account. ”It’s just as I espected of you Rei! I’m proud of your sound decision in this matter!” She said overjoyed. But Inori was a too concerned with what had been said as a second option… ”Konohanasakuya-himesama?” ”Ugyah! Too long! Call me Konoha-himesama from now on ok?!” ”Ok…” Inori answered silently. ”So what was it you wanted to say?”She waited a bit before she brought up the courage to say it to her goddess. ”What would have happened if I declined your trial?...” Inori immeadietly regretted her asking that question. It wasn’t just because she didn’t want to disappoint the goddess, but the second after she said that, she could feel a terribly cold sensation from the being embracing her. ”Remember this Inori, I might adore you for now as for who you are… But remember that I’m still your great superior, and nothing will change that fact. Ever… So if you were unwise enough to decline such a being like that… My disappointment would go far enough to isolate you from this religion. Because if you can defy me like just like that… You’d probably have no problems in defying someone else, even someone in an even higher position than me. Like Amaterasu-sama for example… So remember that.” This wasn’t just a simple warning, Inori was literaly shaking at the moment. The goddess tore into her like daggers made out of ice and she was certainly afraid what could become of her if the gods decided to abandon her. And then the frozen sensation disappeared from Inoris back. ”But you don’t need to worry about that now do you Inori~? You accepted it after all. Be happy, you are still adored and I have great expectations from you if you succeed me in this mission!” Her words returned once more to be as warm and friendly as the sun itself. It melted into Inori and she started to feel quite secure once more. ”Whops!” The goddess suddenly realised something. ”It seems like I’ll have to take my leave now Inorin. Your friend is already back and I’m afraid he already caught a slight glimpse of me. But before that!” Inori could feel that ”something” was entering through somewhere into her mind. It was certainly not something that was pleasant to experience. But when the feeling was gone, a trail through the forest to the witchs house was a clear memory in her mind. It was funny... Because she clearly never remembered to have ever walked on such a path. Konoha pushed herself away from Inori and made distance between them, still, without showing her face. ”Until we meet again my dear Inorin! Be sure that I'll tell my husband all about you!”Inori turned around to get a glimpse of a goddess face but. There was nothing there… There was no sign of anyone ever being there. No footsteps in the grass, no magic to be left by some teleportation magic… Just nothingness. The only evidence of their meeting that remained, was the quest that now was positioned in her quite empty quest logg. She could hear footsteps from behind once more. This time when she turned around, it was Klide that had finaly come back from whatever he had been doing. ”I have something that I need to do Klide… So I’ll have to take my leave now. Thanks for all the help you have brought me.” She said in a rappid fashion, as she then walked away following the trail that the goddess had projected into her very mind. Klide walked towards Inori, his heart racing. He was now certain that there was someone next to Inori, and who ever it was, they were powerful, VERY powerful. Klide had learned to trust his gut since he was a kid, and this was not a situation he liked. Something bad was going to happen, and he hoped that something didn't involve his little Eden. He thought for a moment that he had locked eyes with the figure next to Inori, but suddenly he was blinded and a great pain was felt in his eyes. Klide collapsed to the ground, with his hands on his eyes, and when he opened his eyes a few seconds later, both the pain and the figure were gone. Klide got back up to his feet and walked over to Inori, knowing that the burning in his eyes was his fault, he carried no ill feeling towards the figure who had been with Inori. Klide reached Inori and saw a strange fire in her eyes, like she had somewhere she had to be that very second. Klide was about to ask he a few questions, but she simply turned to face him, and said the she had something she needed to do, and that she'd be taking he leave. She thanked him for helping her, and then she began to walk toward the edge of the forest. Klide was not sure what was going on, but something made him act in a way he normally wouldn't. He was usually fine with being left alone, being abandoned after a correspondence that he'd though had turned out well. early in his life he had had such conversations that had left him happy, and the other person seeming satisfied as well, but then he'd be thrown aside like an old wrapper or other bit of rubbish. Klide was done with it. He hoped that that was not Inori's intention, but her action brought back memories he though he had buried so deep that they would never re-surface. However, those very feeling now rushed up into his head with such force that he did something he'd not done in ages. He cried. It was silent, no sobs accompanied his tears, but the tears came out like a bird that had been caged for years and had finally regained it's freedom. He was not going to be abandoned without an explanation. Klide walked into Inori's path, blocking her way. He was sure he looked ridiculous crying in front of her like some star-crossed lover, but he didn't care at that moment. Klide looked Inori in the eyes, and didn't let the tears cause him to stammer when he spoke. "I can't let you leave yet, please just hear me out." he didn't give her time to reply, so even if she decided to speak, he would continue. He showered her with questions "I just need to know what happened back there. Are you leaving because I left you and went to the other side of the lake without explaining? Is so I am truly sorry. Who was the figure you were with? Where are you going? Is there anyway I can help? Please, just tell me whats going on." Klide was starting to fell even worse. His emotions were like a hiker. Just like he would reach the top of a mountain, they had reached the peak in their strength. He fell to his knees as more tears rained down. He placed his hands on the ground and sat on all fours. "You said you have somewhere you need to be, so why don't I help you. I am sorry that I'm a mess right now, but despite that, please let me come along, I promise that I won't be completely useless". Klide sat on the cool ground, the tears finally beginning to slow down. He had no control over emotions anymore, and his sadness just kept reviving his old memories, like ocean waves bringing new sand and stone from the depths of the ocean and placing them on the beaches surface. All the times he'd been left to fend for himself, all the times he'd been ignored by the people who could help him, all the times he'd been beaten and taunted for being different. Klide just sat on the ground, taking it all. He had cried himself dry, and knew that he must look like the weakest person in Elder Tale at that moment, but he just let the sadness keep bringing back memories. He sat like that until something, some noise, snapped him out of his daze. he wasn't sure what he'd heard, it could have been Inori, or it could have been a noise in the forest, but he sat in the silence and waited for more sound. At first it was silent, she simply continued on towards her destination as she’d gotten out what she wanted to say. There was just nothing more to it honestly. Little did she know how deeply her words had actually stabbed into the swashbuckler. His anguished silhouette jumped in front of her and showered her in desperate questions mingled with a weeping plea to come with her. She was in quite a spot really… She’d made people cry before, although done so indirectly. But it was clearly her fault this time… And the guy in question was on his knees before her, eyes swollen with tears that ran intercrossed down by his chin, dripping down to the flowery landscape. It was awful… Not the way he acted, but how she’d managed to corner him into this state. She seriously wanted to beat herself silly for her unthoughtful choice of words in this matter. He’d helped her get away from those nasty individuals from before and this is how she treated him? On top of that he’d shown her this place as a hideout until it was safe to leave. So damn selfish. It was disgusting how she was just going to leave him there in the dirt because some sudden feeling burst of self-importance. Some shrine maiden we had here, I’m sure people and future followers would gladly gather around someone who had the mentality to dismiss you as easily as if you were some kind of dirty old rag. This simply would not do, but at the same time she was perplexed on what she was supposed to do about the whole ordeal… For a while she stood there, frozen in place and could only stare down at the devastated Klide before her. But there was really only one thing to do wasn’t there? Paying back ones debts was only courtesy… Though this case had probably only increased her debt rather than depleting it. A twig snapped and caught his attention towards her as she sat down in front of Klide. Slowly, she brought her arms around his head and pulled his snotty into a light embrace to her right shoulder and slowly petted his head. She’d been completely out of ideas, so her only choice of action was an attempt to mimic what the goddess had done to calm her down only moments earlier this happened. There was no sort of special meaning behind the act, yet her face steamed red all the way up to her ears in embarrassment. Well t-this was awkward… But she tried to carry on keeping it all natural and went on trying to calm him down by stroking his hair. “I am sorry for the rash words and how I acted towards you Klide. I didn’t expect myself to strike a nerve such as I managed to do. I…” she hesitated a little bit and picked her words cautiously to not inflict further damage upon the victim before her. “I got ahead of myself and caught in the moment before I managed to think through the situation. Ofcourse you’d be confused if I suddenly decided to leave after your quick absence, but I want you to know that it wasn’t in my intention to abandon you over such a silly matter.”Now that she thought about it, she’d been about to charge straight into a witch’s domain with absolutely zero firepower besides her auto-attack. Which meant that she’d be whacking this witch with a staff till submission. The timing she thought of it couldn’t have been worse, as she felt even more horrible to ask him of help now than before. “I’m a bit ashamed to ask by this point… But if you really don’t mind, I’d gladly accept your help. You’re not useless Klide I mean look at me.” Most of her flustered colors had started to subside, so she finally pushed Klide back into his original position and gave of a strained smile. “I was stupid enough to put every single skill point into supportive spells without even thinking of how I should get quests done without a party.” She grabbed her sleeve and rubbed away the glossy remnants of tears that was left on his cheeks. “You’re a man right? So let’s man up and get things done before nightfall comes. Or something…” She was obviously not the type to pep talk someone. It all felt pretty stiff to her and that pun she made was just horrible. She just hoped she could go back to her refined setting sooner than later, as she couldn’t really put up with this spirited and highly compassionate mood. When he was ready, Inori started explaining what the whole quest was on about. But she tried to avoid the subject of “who” the one who gave her the quest earlier, as she wasn’t really sure yet herself… In the end it could just be some prank by a high-levled player, and she didn’t want to get him all worked up for nothing. Klide was ashamed of himself for letting the tears flow from his face. He had just kept all his emotions in since the beginning, since he had first entered this new world. Not that he had left anything significant in the other world; He had not, but because this new world was not much better at first. When he had first entered this world, he was scared (though it is doubtful that he would ever share those thoughts and feelings with anyone) and alone, and the only real advantage he saw at first was that he could slay something if he was ever upset, and no one would be upset that he had killed a few boars or slimes. He really had not meant to cry as much as he had, or at all, but maybe he was just scared again. When Inori had grabbed his head, he was very surprised. She was so delicate with him, as if he were a new born, and not some coltish, taut young man. his face rested on her shoulder for a moment, as she spoke tenderly to him. “I am sorry for the rash words and how I acted towards you Klide. I didn’t expect myself to strike a nerve such as I managed to do. I… I got ahead of myself and caught in the moment before I managed to think through the situation. Of course you’d be confused if I suddenly decided to leave after your quick absence, but I want you to know that it wasn’t in my intention to abandon you over such a silly matter.” Klide looked up, taking his head off of her shoulder. He looked her in the eye. "No, no, I am the one who is sorry Inori." He wiped his tear ridden face and gave a small smile. "It was not your fault. I have just been keeping these emotions locked up for a long time, and when I heard you say that you would be taking your leave after such a short time, well i guess it just kind of acted as the key that unlocked everything I had bundled up. It has been a long time since I have cried like this... years now." Klide placed his hand on the back of his head and smiled a bit brighter. "Inori, I really am sorry, I should not have let myself do that." As he listened to the other things she said he carefully watched her eyes and lips, and he noticed that her face was red, possibly embarrassment for the situation Klide had put her in? "No, you are not stupid, nor was that a stupid choice. You choosing mostly support skills makes it easier for me to protect you. I promise that I will never let myself cry so selfishly again." Just as he finished speaking, Inori wiped the remnants of tears from his moistened rosy cheeks. Then she said "You’re a man right? So let’s man up and get things done before nightfall comes. Or something…” He let out a light hearted laugh "You're absolutely right. lets take care of this together." He paused for a moment, feeling a bit embarrassed himself for not knowing what he was getting into. "Could... could you explain where it is that we are going though?"
