Research
Thread: Of Skates and Boards
Researchers: Just Hiro
Crafting Recipes Proposed:
Explanation: Everybody needs to move around a bit faster in the city. What better way to do that than to make the simple machines known as a Skateboard and Roller Blades? They're cheap, effective, and pretty durable. Basically useless outside of a city, though, since they mainly work on pavement.
Small Wheels: The wheels are the main component to both the Skateboard and Roller Blades, which would basically make them into new materials. Making 12 wold allow one to have enough to make a pair of roller blades, as well as a skateboard. Fairly inexpensive.
Skateboard: Four wheels go onto any skateboard. That's common knowledge. The gears and screws are to hold everything in place, and the other components of the skateboard, like the Truck and Deck can be made from normal things found everywhere in the city.
Roller Blades: Four wheels per foot, making a total of eight wheels. However, the rails that go on both sides of the wheels would be a bit more difficult, and would therefore take a bit longer to make. 2 posts for the creation of the roller blades, since it is ultimately more complex.
Level Requirements: As of This AP Claim, Hiro will be a level 21 Mechanic, making this research claim pretty much doable. Hiro also has the mechanic Upgrade Tool, so better materials can be used if necessary.

Small Wheels
Crafting Class: Mechanic
Materials Required: 1 Old Gear, 1 Old Screw
Posts Required: 1 post makes 10 Wheels (Just a suggestion).
Little wheels used to make Skateboards or Roller Blades. Made from average materials.

Skateboard
Crafting Class: Mechanic
Posts Required: 1 post
Materials Required: 4 Small Wheels, 2 Old Gear, 2 Old Screw
A Board with wheels on the bottom. Good for travelling around city areas at a good speed, and requiring only the use of one's legs to power. User need only kick their leg against the ground to gain/maintain speed, or go down a hill. Moderately useless outside of paved areas.

Roller Blades
Crafting Class: Mechanic
Posts Required: 2
Materials Required: 8 Small Wheels, 1 Old Screw, 1 Old Coil
Boots fitted to the user, with four wheels in a straight line on the bottom. There is space between the boot and wheels to allow the wheels to turn, but can be stepped down on to apply some sort of a brake. User need only kick their legs forward to move. Moderately useless outside of paved ares.
