It was a casual day at the Abbey, however he wasn’t in his housing section. Ryuu was walking outside of the front doors of the cathedral. What was he doing here? He was simply looking about, trying to find people to join him on his quest to help others as well as explore new places and clear new dungeons. He was a pioneer, in that aspect, to claim and kill field bosses, but it wasn’t always easy to do so. Even with his 71 levels, he was still limited due to his low-level equipment, but he was improving his skills as a tailor to match it as quickly as possible. He was still weak, and there were others who were not as fortunate. His guild was set to teach and help those who were not as experienced as he and his wife were. The plan was to help others grow and learn as well as become self-sufficient. So what was he doing? He was passing out flyers. Yes, it was like one of those street advertisers who you really didn’t want to be bothered by. Ryuu was this guy. His flyers gave all the guild information and even gave the mission statement of the guild. He passed each flyer out, one after another, hoping someone would at least talk to him about it. The strongest guild, brought down to this ugly sight. He was trying to get new members, and this was really the only way he could figure out how. At least he’d be able to see who was interested. As time passed by, each person who took one or was forced to take one had mostly thrown it away. A few were courteous in trying to dispose of the flyer out the sight of the guild leader, but that was it. Maybe passing these out to the Landers was sort of pointless. The assassin knew that the Landers outnumbered the adventurers, but to be fair and to not be rude to everyone passing by, he had to pass the flyers out to everyone. There were a few landers that were enthusiastic to join, but when he asked them what they aspired to do when they joined the guild, it seemed like they didn’t read the mission statement. Now it wasn’t like he would reject them all because they were weak, no. He rejected them because they wouldn’t leave their day jobs, and joining Aeryn was a big commitment. It was a 24 hour job. It wasn’t easy being adventurers who were trying to do as much of the game events that they remembered when they were playing Elder Tales before. He really hoped to find some people who were truthfully interested. How long would this man have to wait until someone worthy approached him? He wanted someone to come by and make his day. The guild leader tried hard not to be disheartened and did his best to persevere, but his will was waning. Maybe today was just a bad day? Maybe he’d have better luck tomorrow. He sighed heavily as he continued to pass out the flyers. “Sir! Consider joining Aeryn, please? Ma’m? You too!”

I'LL HAVE YOU KNOW THAT I'VE BECOME INDESTRUCTIBLE Taking a walk helped to clear the guardians mind- on days like this he felt that was all that helped. Just like everyone else he had his concerns about being in this world. The only difference between him and others was that he never bothered to voice them aloud. No one in the world of Elder Tale needed a reason to have their thoughts drawn back to the real questions. What was happening to their body? Was their a body or did they somehow get pulled in entirely? How?
As he pondered these things he noticed that in the distance someone seemed to be advertising for something. From the sounds of it, this Aeryn thing he heard mentioned was a guild. This man was a genius, for some reason Balore never thought to try and recruit on the steps of the cathedral. Many respawning adventurers might see the benefit in having guild members at their back and making a spur of the moment decision to join up. So then why did he wander on over? Before he knew it he was also standing on the steps, a smile on his face.
"Brilliant idea." he said casually, setting his shield on a step he leaned against it. "I never thought to recruit on the cathedral steps." he said with a wide grin. From the general appearance of the man he made the assumption that he might be a higher level than himself. His armor seemed to be pretty snazzy, even something that an end game player might wear in Balore's opinion.
"Has it been working?" he asked, now genuinely curious. He too was a guild leader and needed to seek the advice of others. Without it he was afraid his guild might sink before it ever even started. | WORDS | 297. | TAG | @xxx. | NOTES | Sorry for the short post, recovering from being sick. | MUSIC | xxx.

While Ryuu was advertising Aeryn, a man asked if it had been working. Ryuu looked up towards the man who asked. His name was Balore, or at least that was what his display had said. “Aye… well… somewhat. Advertising is easy… getting people to actually read the advertisement was another thing. Getting people who were worthy of joining the guild is even harder. I don’t bring in people who I don’t trust, in my guild. It’s why my guild isn’t as large as it could be,” he explained. “My guild is my home… that’s why I remain strict on the guidelines to joining my guild. Ask any (generic) adventurer out there and he’ll tell you that the guild leader of Aeryn has a stick up his butt. I’m meticulous about who joins my guild,” he assured the man in front of him. He offered his hand for a hand shake. “It’s nice to meet you, by the way. If you hadn’t checked already, my name is Kumori of the guild Aeryn,” he said. He gave a wide smile. “Are you, by any chance, interested in joining?” he asked. He had no qualms in asking of his availability to join the guild. Having people he trusted and having more people that he trusted had its benefits, especially when organizing raids, quests, parties, and all of those fun things. Aeryn was known for getting their butts in line to be the first to accomplish and finish things. “I know it says you have a guild, but I have to ask… what are your goals as a guild and how do you see members of your guild? It’s a question I often ask of others, but I ask you because you are also a guild leader. I wish to see how others view their guild members. After you have given your bit, I will explain my stance on it, if you wish to hear it. I am always intrigued as to how other people manage their guilds,” he said enthusiastically. Ryuu smiled and waited for him to answer.

I'LL HAVE YOU KNOW THAT I'VE BECOME INDESTRUCTIBLE Even though he had only been a guild leader for a handful of days he could understand the struggle. He was no stranger to MMO's and this was not his first attempt at trying to lead a guild. Still it seemed that every time he tried something tragic happened with the timing, it was usually off. The guardian smiled and nodded as the man went on to explain how he went about recruiting for his guild. "Understandable. The wrong person can start a chain reaction until your guild has collapsed upon it's self. I've seen it happen too many times" he replied.
Before he knew it he was even being recruited himself. Blinking several times the guardian pointed to himself. "I uh," he started as he thought aloud. Did he honestly have the right sort of drive to bring his guild up to the level of the others running around? If he had to ask himself that perhaps he didn't after all. He was the leader type but his ego was not so large that he could not join and follow anothers ideals either.
"Honestly we are a small guild, I can count the members with less than five fingers." he admitted with a chuckle. His face became more serious however as he got around to speaking of goals. This was something he had thought long and hard about since his encounter with the landers. "The only reason I formed a guild was to protect those who could not make it on their own. That includes landers as they are people too." he said with a rather haunted look.
Shaking his head, he snapped back to the questions he was asked. "Members of my guild are my friends, my support. Without them I might as well sit in a tavern and wait for myself to go mad or until someone figures out how to escape. Each new person gives me the strength to fight another day knowing there are others who think and play like I do." he said. | WORDS | 339. | TAG | Kumori. | NOTES | Wowie, sorry. A sad truth it was, this Balore was saying. The fact that a guild leader had to be careful of who he chose to be a good part of his family was difficult, especially since a single person could be the undoing of an entire guild, but that was why there was always an interview process. There were no fail safes to keeping a guild together. He didn’t want a guild dissolve due to drama between members and an overzealous and tyrannical guild leader who though the world was lost so he kicks everyone from the guild just because he could, and he had no part in helping maintain the guild. It had happened to him before, Ryuu, and he was not at all happy with it. Balore seemed surprised that he was asked, but Ryuu was kind and generous to him. He did not flaunt his power or his guild size, all he simply did was ask a simple question, and he was given a simple answer. Ryuu smiled at him and offered his hand to shake his. “Finding good people to lead a guild and becoming a part of a guild is always a difficult task… no matter how great or how small a guild is, they can make a large impact. For example, a small pebble can cause an avalanche. Your reason, however, is admirable. I too made this guild on the foundation of helping others, landers and adventurers alike,” Ryuu said to him and smiled. Ryuu then though up of an interesting idea. “Your guild members are your friends, and while I agree, there is something more that transcends the bonds of friendship… My guild is my family, and I will offer myself up to save them, even if it costs me my life, and I’m sure you have the same mentality and tenacity for that. While I don’t like breaking apart guilds, I will ask you this. Because you seem to have a good head on your shoulders… would you and your guild like to become part of Aeryn? I pride my guild as one who treats all as equals and protects those who need it. If you and your guild are willing, I offer this to you and them. I suggest you take your time to think about it and ask your guild members. Ryuu said to him. He put in Balore’s name and added him to his friend list and waited for the other guild leader to accept. “While I don’t expect you to make a decision now, if you so choose, it can be done rather easily. The friend request is for you to contact me… but also to know that we are friends as well. A guild leader who has a similar mentality to mine own is a friend of mine. I will do my best to protect both of our ideals, even if you do not become a member of my guild. Regardless of what the future days bring us, I look forward to partying with you in the future, if anything,” Ryuu said with a smile.

I'LL HAVE YOU KNOW THAT I'VE BECOME INDESTRUCTIBLE As Kumori spoke it became easier and easier to like the fellow. Everything he said rung true for Balore as well, even their views on what a guild was. It was almost eerie to find someone who thought just like he did. Most of the players he had come across so far either seemed self concerned or unsure of what they wanted. That was where he was different, he knew exactly what he wanted out of all of this. No matter what he had to do he was going to get it as well as long as it didn't trample upon others.
Pausing to consider what was said, Balore smiled at Kumori warmly. "A family." he repeated as if he had not thought of that. Truthfully this was the longest he had ever been away from his own. The thought tugged at his heart strings as he did his best to stay focused on the here and now. "I guess that is a good way of looking at it. It must be hard for some to be so far from home." he said.
Before he could truly launch into that subject though Kumori had his menu open. Something about breaking apart guilds, decisions, all he could do was blink for a moment. His mind processed the information as he pulled open his own menu as well. With only him and one other person in the guild currently online all he could do was try and consider what Lavina might think. He wasn't giving up, he was simply considering the best option for them to flourish.
Accepting the friend request, he smiled at Kumori at the mention of being friends. He had very few of those, as he described before, he could also count those on less than five fingers. "Honestly you do not have to wait long for a reply. Lavinia, the only guildy I've seen around, trusts me to make the right choice." he said with a soft chuckle. The fact that anyone trusted him with decision making at all sort of baffled him. Moving his finger of to the guild tab, he hovered over the disband button for a moment.
It was a big choice but it was probably for the best. Aeryn was a bigger guild, a chance to be a part of something and maybe even become strong. "There is nothing to think about. This world benefits more from having unity and I can think of no logical reason for my guild to remain a seperate entity. Not while we share a common goal." he said. He finally shook the guys hand after he gave the speech, having realized he left him hanging for a moment.
"Consider me all in." he said. | WORDS | 456. | TAG | @xxx. | NOTES | xxx. | MUSIC | xxx.
