At the moment, Steel was currently engaged in combat with a regular slime. Although they were a lot easier than a boar they were harder than Steel expected, his expectations being he could destroy them in a hit or two. After slashing at ti another time, he had attacked this slime a total of 5 times now. This is just sad. I can't even destroy a slime so easily. Steel thought to himself with a somewhat grim smile. He saw its health go into the red and decided to finish this. He jumped and spun in the air, creating momentum for his two swords as he struck at the slime. "Assassin's Deadly Dance Swashbuckler version." Steel said as the slime broke apart into anima, remembering that he had been taught by Kyousuke the movements of the Assassin skills which he could then mimic some although he wouldn't be able to use the extra effects. "Well, I guess that's over, I better move on." Steel said to himself as he continued walking down the path. "I wonder if anything new's going to happen to me today?" Steel then heard a scream. Moving on instinct, he ran as fast as he could towards the sound. After a short period of time running, he saw a girl having trouble with a level 3 slime. It seemed that it took her by surprise thus creating the current situation. Steel didn't give himself any time to think and charged in from the slime's side. "Dart Tack Target!" He exclaimed before attacking the slime dealing it light damage but moderate aggro with each hit. "Look over here you slime monster!" He exclaimed as the skill was meant more to get its attention rather than to damage it. "You okay over there?" He asked the girl behind him. OOC: An admin was okay with me doing the whole using an Assassin skill as a Swashbuckler. It doesn't have the extra effects. Valentine

»This was her chance! She as going to do it. Yea, finally. She was going to kill this jelly looking creature. This slime. Whipping out her rapier she lunged towards the monster with a ferocious scream, one full of determination in what would eventually turn out as a disaster. As her first strike struck, the slime quickly aggro’d her, hitting her back as she practically flailed in place on the ground, at a loss of words at herself. After taking several light hits from the low level creature she managed to find her feet, practically running circles around the slime. This is why she didn’t like trying to train alone. Cleric’s were made for support, not whatever Valentine was doing. All she could do was scream for help, of which was quick to arrive in the form of what appeared to be a young boy, one that struck with a lot of style. Her mouth opened as the creature shattered into rainbow bits, anima, before he asked if she was okay. She quickly nodded before bowing her head, grateful for this saving grace. “I give you my most sincere thanks. The only future I could have foreseen without your aid was grim and resulted in my own death. Truly, I thank you.” This might have seemed like a slight over-exaggeration, but it beat the humiliation of dying to a green blob. “My name is Valentine, would you be comfortable giving me your name?” She asked, wanting to gain a new friend, a possible partner for her to level up with.

"It's not like I really did so much." Steel replied in a slightly embarrassed tone. It was rare for people to compliment him, even in this world. A majority of the people he's met so far ever since the Apocalypse usually argued with him with the exception of his mentor. He then shook his head to regain his composure. "Anyway, the name's Steel, my real name is Takeshi Kurogane." Steel said in response with a friendly grin as the romantic sparkles came from him. It seemed he noticed this and became slightly annoyed as he opened his menu and pressed a few buttons. "It's like this thing turns on by itself." He said referring to his Courtesan subclass's toggle ability which seemed to activate on it's own as if it were a running gag from some anime and/or manga. "So what's your name Princess?" He asked commenting on her style of speech and appearance which to him resembled a teenage ojou-sama from Japan. Valentine

»Valentine giggled at the sight of the sparkling man, finding it interesting that someone who choose a subclass that presented you in such a silly fashion when introducing yourself to new people. Her personal class, Animal Tamer, had no effects like Steel’s. She thought his choice of name was quite intriguing, if nothing else she noted that his real name seemed to be of eastern, Japanese she guessed, descent. It was rare for her to be the second one to introduce themselves, and she was caught off guard by it. “Pleasure,” She said, trying to recover form her minor shock. “I’m Valentine, a cleric. However I am quite low level,” She trailed off as her sentenced progressed. She was always embarrassed to have to voice that she was still fairly new at the game, despite the fact most players stuck in the game at this point were as well. This caused food for thought. She wondered what Steel’s story was. Where did he come from? Was he good? Could he help her? She peered over at the slime that was there only moments before, now broken into rainbow bits, floating upwards into the sky. “You seem quite powerful, would it bother you to answer what class you are?” He appeared to be mobile, something assassin-like, but his attire said otherwise. She tipped her head to the side in curiosity.

"You too huh?" Steel said with a bit of a laugh as he sheathed his swords back into the sheathes crisscrossed on his back. "I'm pretty low leveled myself. Looking at your status screen, we're actually the same level so I'm not as powerful as you think." He then thought to himself. She doesn't know about the status screen? Being able to find out one's class from that screen is basic knowledge. She really is a new player. He then proceeded to answer the girl's question. "To answer your question, I'm a Swashbuckler, the duel wielding class. My class isn't that powerful either so the only reason why I could fight well against the slime is because of real world experience in duel blade style swordsmanship and prior knowledge of Elder Tale's systems from the Japan server back when this was still a game." Steel then began to think for a short bit as he looked at Valentine's status screen again. She's a cleric and she's really low leveled. She probably needs someone to party with her since it's unlikely for her to have any battle based skills in her skill list since she just started out as a cleric. "Want to party with each other? We're both the same level and it's a lot more fun to be out here with other people than by yourself anyway. Let's get stronger together." He said with a grin after coming to the decision of wanting to partner up with the girl he just met as he sent her a party request before offering his hand for a friendly handshake. Valentine

»Valentine listened to what Steel had to say with full attention, as her curiosity for the new player was taking over any other senses she might be using. The only thing she could hear or see was Steel and what he was saying. She nodded, intrigued as he explained his unique class, wanting herself to have something to show but falling short of her own expectations. He quickly offered to party up with Valentine, at which she jumped with joy before quickly agreeing, ecstatic that she had made yet another friend in this new and foreign world. "That would be my pleasure! Hopefully we can use eachother's strengths and weaknesses to pull through and become valiant heroes, perhaps!" She opened her interface, looking at it for second before realising where the party invitation was. It was a real shame that her 'new player' kept shining through and made her look stupider and stupider as her days progressed. Maybe she would need someone to teach her how the game actually worked before she moved on to killing things within the game. She shook off these thoughts however, too shy and stubborn to ask someone for help on what should be such a basic task. "Shall we slay more jellies and soak up their priceless experience then?" She said, a sense of adventure glimmering off of her.

Steel was glad that the girl he had just met was excited about partying with him as he enjoyed having opportunities to make new friends. “I can understand using our strengths but how would we use our weaknesses? Did you mean cover each other’s weaknesses?” He asked, just saying his thoughts out loud. He then noticed her little internal struggle. “Let me guess, you’re still relatively new to our little situation here, being in this game, and you need someone to teach you how everything works? I’d be fully willing to help you through it. There’s no need to be embarrassed about it, everyone starts out as a beginner at some point.” He said this with a kind and friendly smile as romantic sparkles came from him, an aftereffect of his Courtesan subclass’s skill Allure. Once in a while, it activated the skill 'Allure' on its own as if it were a running gag from some manga or anime, attracting other's, mainly of the opposite gender, attention despite his simple attire. Attracting so much attention was unnerving to Steel from time to time which is why he immediately turned it off when he noticed that it was activated, snapping the girl out of whatever trance she got into. Even though he couldn't see any use for it, Steel was stubborn and refused to change subclasses until he found a practical use for it. The reason being that an acquaintance of his from the Japanese server had told him that there was potential for every subclass. “Sorry about that. That stupid skill acted up on its own again. Stupid thing.” Steel said in apology for the sparkles. “Anyway, let’s go adventuring and kill more monsters! Since you seem to want to destroy slimes more, let’s find some slimes to destroy!” Words: 299 Valentine
