First Act: a Slimy battle!     (695 words)

   



    Some days have passed since Hayato entered the world of Elder Tale, a game he used to waste hours playing, to reach high levels and notoriety in the server. But now, he was trapped inside it, back to Level 1, as weak as when he started playing the game. Luckily, he already got some experience, so, perhaps, it wouldn't take as much time as it took him before to reach a high level. Still, he needed to level up, and for that, nothing would do better than killing some low level monsters. At Windsor Greatwood the place Hayato was located at, he knew he'd find some low level creatures that could do just nicely to help him out in his levelling. With the objective on mind, the Summoner started to walk through the valley, looking for potential enemies. The weather was nice, no rain, and sun wasn't so hot, thus, it was just perfect for the Fox Tail. He liked climates like that. After some time walking, seeing no more than grass, trees and the blue sky, he suddenly glimpsed a movement on an area to his right. Then, he started to look with attetion, and it was only then that Hayato finally noticed that there was a Dull Green Slime (Lv.1) just ahead, probably hard to detect because of it's color, that was similar to the grass. Without thinking two times, the Summoner started to approach the creature, making sure his prey wouldn't escape anytime soon...


    When he was close enough to the creature, he analyzed it more throughly, preparing for the battle. Standing at something close to 5 meters from the Slime, Hayato focused his energies, and casted a spell. He was still unused to do it, as it was quite a bit different from the normal casting at the MMO. Still, he shouted with a firm voice, summoning forth his first and most reliable ally for fights like this. "I summon thee! Come to my aid! Summon Follower - Golem !" - with this, he started to cast the spell, making the soil in front of him fill with magic and start to take form, and in mere two seconds, creating a one meter tall Golem, made from the soil of the area. The Follower stayed in the front of the summoner, waiting for orders, just while the Slime started to move as well, detecting the magic of the Summoner, and it was pretty quick for its feet - or the lack of them. To prevent himself from being attacked, Hayato didn't wait. He started to move backwards, distancing himself from the creature, while he thinked of something to do. Meanwhile, the Golem started to run too, and god it was fast. Soon, he reached the Slime, hitting it with a punch from his right arm, making her HP bar lower a little. Although fast, the Soil Golems lacked HP and damage, so it would be hard to take the creature down only with it. "Sure, i think i'll help out too, haha!" - Hayato said, and then, approached the two fighters a little bit more, attacking the Slime with his Crystal Ball, making it's HP lower a quite a bit more. The creature then attacked Hayato, forcing the Summoner to retreat, hurt from the attack he received, but soon, engaging into fight again. 

    At last, after a little bit of time fighting, the attacks of both the Golem and Hayato, together, were able to defeat the Dull Green Slime, making it explode and disappear. Tired, Hayato unsummoned the Golem, thanking him with a low voice, and then laying on the ground to let the HP/MP recover. It was hard to fight with a Summoner, at the start. He didn't have many summons, and the ones he had weren't very strong. More than that, the MP expended to mantain them was quite high at low levels, so it was a bit challeging to defeat the Slime, although he barely lost HP. Well, that was only the start though. Soon, he knew that he would get stronger, but for that, he needed more training. And for more training, he meant a single thing: kill more enemies...

Second Act: Rabbit Hunt!     (1115 words)

        Hayato was eager to hunt some more monsters, although he did have some trouble with the Slime the other time. That's why he was going to hunt a small fry from that area, a creature known as Frenmic Rabbit, common at Windsor Greatwood. The Summoner didn't even had to walk for a minute to find a group of those little rabbits, jumping around at an area about 20 meters away from where Hayato was. In-game, they were really easy to kill, a free farm. Their HP was low, and they wouldn't cause as much damage as a Boar or a Slime. The perfect prey for a low level Summoner that didn't have many abilities in combat. Or so he thought. Before the Fox Tail was 5 meters away from the creatures, they runned away a short distance, to make sure he wouldn't do so. "Huh? You're kidding, right? How the heck am I supposed to fight something that runs away so easily?" That was certainly a dilemma. Hayato could just ignore the rabbits and go hunt some boars or slimes, but those two were way more harder than the first one, even though their levels were the same, mostly. Taking a deep breath, the Summoner started to cast a magic, chanelling energy with his crystal ball, and after two seconds, a kind of magic symbol appeared on the ground, made of pure light and shining brightly, and then a mix of a fox and a rabbit appeared in front of Hayato. The spell he casted was Summon Follower - Carbuncle, and with it, he was able to bring forth that creature. It was quite peculiar, with that ruby in his forehead, but he knew it's abilities. Although mostly useless phisically, the Carbuncle would be very useful because of his ranged magic attacks. Perhaps, with it, he could teach those Frenmic Rabbits a lesson...

        The strategy was simple, but it would be quite hard to make it work. Carbuncle's attacks would be able to deal damage to the rabbits a single time, since they were shot from a certain range. This way, they wouldn't be able to predict it so easily, and most probably get hit. Still, the little fox-rabbit's attacks were not very powerful, and with this, they wouldn't defeat the rabbits in a single shot. This was the problem. Once they were hit, the Frenmic Rabbits would run away as fast as they could and God, they were quick at their feet. This would make the next shot almost impossible to land, and with this, they would be unable to kill the rabbit. But the plan wasn't just to shoot'em from afar and pray that they would break a leg or two while running. That'd be quite funny actually, but no. There was a very big rock not even a mile away from them, and it was big both in height and length. If they were able to push the Frenmic Rabbits there, they would be forced to fight. Into a direct fight with them, Hayato would most likely win, although they'd be hard to hit, as they're fast, but that would be a minor problem. Still, to push the rabbits into that direction, they would have to attack from the right position, and then keep attacking to make them run. With the direction of the stone in mind, Hayato and his Carbuncle positioned themselves parallel to it, so they could attack from there, and send the rabbits into it's direction. The creatures were, once again, 20 meters away. Not close enough to the Carbuncle's attack to land, though. He'd need something close to 10 meters, so they started to slowly walk forward, getting closer to the group of enemies. There were 4 Frenmic Rabbits, all of Level 1. Hayato's voice was so low even he could barely hear it. "Now, let the game begin..."

         A ruby-colored beam swiftly passed through the eight meters that distanced the Adventurer and his prey, hitting the first Frenmic Rabbit of the four, and almost halving his HP. They were really fragile, weren't they? Then, the rest of the group panicked, and started to run in the opposite direction of the Summoner and his Follower, the hurt one right after the others. They were going right to where Hayato wanted'em. He and the Carbuncle started to run after the creatures, that were obviously faster, but they could still keep up with them. The beams kept being shot from the Carbuncles forehead, purposely missing, only to make sure the creatures would keep running into the stone's direction. Not even a minute later, the Frenmic Rabbits were forced to stop running. There was a huge rock in front of them, making them unable to keep on going. If they were to get around it, they would most likely be shot two or three more times. They were cornered. The four creatures stopped panicking, and in a second, attacked aggressively both Hayato and his Carbuncle, two on each. In no time, one died. He was already hurt, and with Hayato's crystall ball hitting him, he disappeared into Anima. The carbuncle shot one once, halving his HP and making him retreat a little, while the other kept attacking it with his claws, just like another one was doing with the Summoner. "Damn, you're annoying. Take this, Elemental Bolt!" Hayato casted the spell for two seconds, making a bolt of light energy charge slowly at his palm, and then, at the end of the casting, shoot, one-hitting the Frenmic Rabbit that attacked him. After this, he sprinted closer to his Carbuncle, that was very close to death, and had just hitted one of the creatures with his ruby ray. Hayato attacked the rabbit with the crystal ball, making it disappear, and with this, lefting a single one alive. The monster was clearly scared, but the Summoner had no mercy. Another attack with his crystal ball, and the entire group of monsters was defeated, at last.

         Again, Hayato found himself resting in the grass, after having unsummoned the Carbuncle. The fight wasn't hard, once again, he barely lost HP. Still, they require way more strategy than the battles back on the MMO. He needs to move, not to click. He needs to cast, not to press a hotkey. This makes everything harder, but much more rewarding. He promised himself that he would make his way into the game, and become strong. It was just a matter of time. He would find allies, level up, become famous...well, at least he wished so. For now, the Summoner Fox Tail had to rest. After all, the hunting season has not ended yet. That was just the beginning...
