[attr="class","ws"] [attr="class","h"]CHARUEN [attr="class","fc"] [attr="class","bi"]REAL NAME: Charlotte Evans [attr="class","bi2"]REAL GENDER: Female [attr="class","bi2"]GENDER: Female [attr="class","bi2"]AGE:19 [attr="class","bi2"]SEXUALITY: Heterosexual [attr="class","bi2"]FACE-CLAIM: Lacus Clyne, Gundam Seed Destiny [attr="class","bi2"]PLAYED BY: Harmonie [attr="class","bi2"]FACTION: Adventurer [attr="class","h2"]Appearance [attr="class","b"]In the real world, Charuen's appearance was... average. She was by no means ugly, but she most definitely did not turn heads with her beauty. With wavy blonde hair and hazel eyes, she did not stand out in anyway from her peers, who had similar traits as her. However, the same cannot be said about her appearance in Elder Tale. In Elder Tale, she is eye catchingly beautiful. The most noticeable trait is Charuen's hair. They are long luscious locks in a beautiful shade of floral pink that reach down to her waist. She enjoys experimenting with different hairstyles, but the two golden clips that hold her bangs remain a constant. Her face is small, with relatively high cheek bones, a narrow jaw, and a rightly sized forehead. The shade of her skin is smooth like porcelain, but also very light. Thus, it reddens easily when she is flustered or under physical stress. Her eyes are orbs of stormy grey tinted with blue; you can't help but be reminded of a rainy day when you look into her eyes. As for her lips, some consider it to be her one flaw. They are small and not very full, and thus contribute to her "prim and proper" persona. By no means athletic, she does not boast any muscles in her arms and legs. Instead, she has a slender build with noticeable curves in her chest area, and long legs. Charuen's physique accentuates her femininity, but does little to help her in battle. When she is not fighting, Charuen enjoys wearing a variety of clothing, but has a particular fondness for dresses. She carries herself with enough grace that other adventurers often wonder if her subclass is dancer or perhaps courtesan. However, this is merely a result of being trained to walk in real life. Due to her gentle appearance, people are often surprised by the strong opinions and witty comments that escape her lips. [attr="class","h3"]Personality [attr="class","b"] Meeting Charuen for the first time, an individual will not be able to help but notice how easy it is to talk to her. Sporting a charming smile and a welcoming demeanor, making friends has never been difficult for her. Charuen is polite and good mannered, traits that she kept from the real world. Coupled with the fact that she carries herself with utmost grace, Charuen is often mistaken as someone of nobility. No matter who you are, she will interact with you with the utmost civility. Being very open minded, unless it is something that she feels passionately about, she will respect an individual's opinion even if she disagrees with it. She genuinely enjoys spending time with people, and is a good listener. As a result, it is very easy for Charuen to make friends, and her social circle is relatively large. That being said, she is intensely private, and it takes a lot for her to consider someone a close friend. While she has no problem listening to someone's troubles, she rarely ever shares her own. Moreover, after long periods of socializing, Charuen will find herself being burnt out, and require a couple days of solitude to recharge. Although she has no problems being social, she does not mind being by herself either. However, Charuen is not just about pretty looks. Behind the graceful smile is an intelligent mind. Charuen actively responds to discussions about ideas, and not people; philosophical debates are right up her alley, and she will never turn down a good book. Those who get to know her well realize that Charuen can be witty and sarcastic, and is full of different opinions. Moreover, the pink haired beauty always has her goals in clear sight, and is good at making plans to achieve said goals. However, her shortcoming lies in her ability to deal with data and information processing. As a result, Charuen is not particularly talented with strategizing battles, and fairs poorly in craft skills such as alchemy and engineering. Instead, her skills lie in organizing social institutions and diplomacy. To many people, Charuen is the older sister they never had. She is always ready to listen to your troubles, and cooks good food (A/N:In the future, when her chef subclass level rises.). She takes her responsibilities seriously, and is good at dealing with children. Charuen is a highly empathetic and intuitive person. She can easily tell how her peers are feeling, and oftentimes, her own moods are based on the moods of those around her. In addition, those who are close to her will experience her witty and playful comments, as well as endure her teasing. While she tries to play a responsible role among her friends, she is never afraid to take a risk from time to time and have some fun. Charuen is by no means a perfect person, and often struggles with the darker side of her personality. For example, while no means power hungry, she relishes the idea of being looked up to by her peers. Also, due to her high EQ and being able to understand emotions very well, she has the potential to be manipulative in order to get the things she wants. In addition, Charuen can be quite a bit of a control freak, and often wants to have some sort of influence over all aspects of things. Lastly, while she keeps this only to herself and those whom she is close with, Charuen can be extremely opinionated. She tends to label people quickly too, although she does not act particularly differently to people based on the labels that she gives them. [attr="class","h3"]History [attr="class","b"]Charuen was born as Charlotte Evans on a bright summer day to a Raymond Evans, a businessman who worked in the tourism industry, and Agnes Lo, a native Hong Kong citizen who was raised in the United Kingdom and worked as an in flight attendant before marrying Raymond. Charuen's childhood was quite typical. She was raised in London, and went to a (private) school there. She hung out with friends, had dinner with her family, and struggled with math. Her family, although by no means rich or well known, earned an above average income. Furthermore, due to her dad's job, the Evans family often had to attend social gatherings. As a result, Charlotte learned from a young age how the importance of good manners and carrying oneself with grace. Charlotte always had a grand imagination, and had a deep love for books. Her journals were filled with doodles of worlds that she created in her head. She was aproximately ten years old when Elder Tale was first released, but did not hear about or play it until much later. When she turned fourteen, she received a copy of the game as gift from a relative. Fascinated by the idea of another world filled with magic, lore, and much more, Charlotte quickly made a character in the popular game. The following two years consited of fun memories with other players on the Scandanavian server as they partied together in dungeons and raids. However, as Charlotte grew older, the stress of real life prevented her from enjoying Elder Tale. There was no time to play when she had her studies to worry about. Thus, as time passed by, the young woman found herself playing less and less, until the game was eventually forgotten. Over the next couple of years, Charlotte spent her time focused on her studies. She enrolled in university, where she studied urban planning. Despite not being able to play Elder Tale anymore due to lack of time, her imagination did not waver, and she decided to put her interests to use by going to school to learn about designing cities. One day, while she was home for a long weekend, Charlotte found her copy of Elder Tale while cleaning her room. Fond memories from the game came rushing back, and a question formed in her head: Why not give the game another go? After all, her studies were starting to die down. Thus, Charlotte popped the CD into her computer, and let the game run. Having been absent from the game for a long time, she decided to start a new character on the UK server. And then, came the Catastrophe. [attr="class","h3"]Extra [attr="class","b"] Name pronunciation: Shar-ru-in Blood Type: O+ Dominant Hand: Right Birthday: July 5th Likes: chocolate, sweets, tea, hot showers, reading, dancing, exploring, star gazing, being witty, puns Dislikes: swimming, loud noise, arrogant people, being looked down upon Fears: spiders, crowded places, being looked down upon Fun Fact: She is a walking encyclopedia about teas and pastries. |

This spell has no real offensive properties and is mostly just used for illuminating a dark area. One particularly characteristic about the Magic Light is its face, which changes expression in a way mimicking its owner. It's often voted consistently near the top of annual Elder Tale "Which of these summons would make a good plushie for Elder Tale to sell as merchandise" polls. It comes in three forms - a spherical orb, a ball of flame, and a bundle of small firefly-like lights. This skill has a casting time of 2 seconds and a duration of 2 minutes for Mage classes. For any other class, the duration of this skill is dropped to 30 seconds. There is no cooldown for this skill, but it cannot be conjured again for 10 seconds after it has worn off or manually canceled. [attr="class","skill"]Tongue of Nature: It's often said that certain people seem to have an affinity toward interacting with nature and communicating with animals. With this skill, the Adventurer's natural affinity is idealized into a tangible form. While this toggle skill is active, the character will be able to communicate with animals and monsters. Incoming speech by monsters will appear as subtitles at the bottom of the user's vision. There is a huge variance between being able to notice this effect and actually using it effectively, however. "Nice to meet you" is not the same thing as "Look, fresh meat", for example. At lower levels, the user of this skill will very often mishear monsters' speech and mispronounce their own words, mistakes that might cause hostility if used incorrectly. However, as the user gradually gains experience, they will be able to negotiate with monsters more easily. The Animal Trainer, Fisherman, Druid classes are more aligned with the power of nature and thus higher success rates are gained if the user is one or more of these classes. Monsters at a lower level compared to the user's highest class level also are easier to communicate with. [attr="class","skill"]Blood Transmutation: A toggle skill that is particularly effective in a desperate situation. By tuning into the essence of their own life force, a devouted cleric may risk their own life in order to save an ally. Using this ability, the cleric can use their own HP as if it were their MP. Spell costs will now take half the caster's HP and half the caster's MP to perform. If MP is completely depleted, then it will be cast fully from HP. As long as this skill is active, the cleric cannot target themselves with healing magic. [attr="class","skill"]Divine Favor: A skill that temporarily removes all negative status effects on the user. Take note that this does not remove one's negative status effects, and can be called "damage postponement" of sorts. Although Clerics have the ability to clear oneself of all negative status effects in battle, it may put the rest of the party in imminent danger. It is for this reason that this skill is important for Clerics, particularly healers. Take note that this skill only affects status effects that are active on the user at the time of casting. This skill has a casting time of 2 seconds and a cooldown time of 15 seconds. [attr="class","skill"]Martyr Spear: One of the cleric's few offensive options. This spell causes a spear of light to appear in the air above the cleric. After the spear is ready, the cleric points at a target. The spear will promptly head towards the target's position at a high velocity and strike the opponent with light-elemental damage. While this skill has a decently long range, it becomes naturally easier to dodge the farther away the opponent is. This skill has a casting time of 3 seconds and a cooldown time of 20 seconds. [attr="class","skill"]Miracle Mine: : A light-elemental spell. After performing this spell, the ground beneath the player's current position will light up with a white glow. If an opponent were to step on this aura, it immediately reacts and strikes the target with a bright small-scale explosion. Alternately, the user can trigger a manual activation by snapping their fingers. If multiple mines are present, they will be triggered based on the order they were set. After about five minutes, the mine will naturally dissipate on its own, however. This skill has a casting time of 1 second and a cooldown time of 5 seconds after placing a mine. [attr="class","skill"]Cure: A basic cure magic that removes negative status effects from a single ally. It consumes little MP and has the ability to remove negative status effects regardless of type, but higher skill ranks allow shorter casting times for this skill. Its effect is a pale blue light similar to that of Heal. The effectiveness of its cure effect may vary based on the level of the skill and the gap between the level of the user and the level of the monster which gave the status effect. This skill has a casting time of 2 seconds and a cooldown time of 10 seconds. [attr="class","skill"]Reactive Heal: The Cleric's starting restorative skill and regarded as the Cleric's signature skill. Unlike Heal that immediately restores hit points at once, Reactive Heal requires the target to receive damage to trigger this skill's effect. Reactive Heal's effectiveness in combat relies on the caster's level and the level of the skill itself, but it does not require the Cleric to focus on a single ally like in Heal, allowing the "Heal Walk" tactic to be employed. When activated, the ally becomes wrapped with a warm orange light as a visual effect. This skill has a casting time of 2 seconds and a cooldown time of 15 seconds. [attr="class","skill"]Resurrection: A fundamental resurrection magic for low level healing classes. A Player is transported to a nearby Cathedral when its HP becomes 0, but can be revived before this could happen. Resurrection has a long casting time, consumes a lot of MP, and the target must not make contact with anything else during casting, making this skill very difficult to use during combat. Aside from this, it shares cooldown times with superior resurrection skills, narrowing down its usefulness in battle even more, causing many players to refrain from using this skill. This skill has a casting time of 5 seconds and a cooldown time of 90 seconds. [attr="class","skill"]Anima-Siphoning Sphere The Cleric harnesses healing energy in the form of a faint white vapor which swirls around in the shape of an orb. This skill magnetizes anima from the nearby atmosphere until it is fully generated, after which it will flash several times and heal the nearest ally. If a healing skill is performed by any character between the moment this skill is performed and the Cleric's next turn, halve the healing effect of that skill. The orb is then fully charged and will immediately heal a target. Otherwise, the orb will fully charge at the beginning of the Cleric's 2nd turn from the moment it is casted. Anima Siphoning is therefore often used in the presence of an enemy healer, allowing the Cleric to leech off the rival healer's hard work. This skill has a casting time of 2 seconds and a cooldown of 10 seconds. If Anima-Siphoning Sphere is currently active, it cannot be recasted. [attr="class","skill"]Healing Light Heals injuries by shooting a white light with a hexagram shape from one's fingertips. The amount of HP it heals is small compared to Heal, but it generates minimal Hate and only consumes a small amount of MP, as well as having short casting and cooldown times. It can be used to heal minor wounds and emergency healing, and is often used alongside primary restoration spells to supplement one's healing capabilities. In large-scale battles where many Clerics are organized, Healing Light can be "showered" on a single tank. Because of its utility, players regardless of level are dependent on the use of this skill. Among its popular nicknames are "Do Your Best Heal" and "Crossroad Heal". This skill has a casting time of 2 seconds and a cooldown time of 8 seconds. [attr="class","skill"]Holy Rampage By charging their body with holy energy, the cleric violently releases a wave of mana. This creates a split-second barrier that pushes away all enemies and physical projectiles within three meters. In return, the cleric's mana is pushed into imbalance and requires a moment to recover; as a result, they cannot cast a healing spell for the next 10 seconds. This skill has an animation time of 1 second and a cooldown time of 10 seconds. [attr="class","skill"]Healing Aurora A healing spell that bathes the battlefield in a brilliant seven-colored light for a few seconds. When this skill is activated, the Cleric and all party members within 10 meters have a high amount of their HP restored. Because of this skill's high efficiency and large area of effect, it is often considered their secret weapon. However, it generates an extremely high amount of aggro and has a long cooldown, so dedicated support Clerics should be careful. This skill has a casting time of 2 seconds and a cooldown of 90 seconds. [attr="class","skill"]Healing Forge An offensively-based Cleric's toggle skill that depends upon an aggressive battle style. It is one of the key skills that make up the Battle Cleric archetype. Upon striking the opponent with a weapon or shield, the Cleric's body will generate a small ring of life energy that appears and floats somewhere on the battlefield within 5 meters of the Cleric's current position. If the Cleric or a party member makes contact with one of these rings, it will heal them by a small amount. Naturally, the rate at which healing rings can be generated is largely dependent on the Cleric's attack speed. [attr="class","skill"]Divine Punishment A defensive light-elemental spell that is casted upon oneself or a party member. Every time an opponent should deal damage to this skill's target, a beam of light will suddenly shoot out from underneath them to deal damage. The strength of this skill is proportional to the amount of damage that the enemy had dealt. Normally this skill is used in conjunction with a Reactive Heal effect, but there are often cases where a Cleric will attempt to use this skill while tanking. This skill has a casting time of 2 seconds, a duration of 30 seconds, and a cooldown of 45 seconds. The light pillar has an animation time of 0.5 seconds. CRAFTING SUBCLASS [attr="class","skill"]Iron Stomach:Not even food poisoning can stop a dedicated chef! This skill can be toggled, allowing chefs to become immune to status debuffs caused by drinks and food. They also passively recover from sickness status effects twice as quickly. ROLEPLAY SUBCLASS [attr="class","skill"]Battle Perception: Toggle skill. Battle perception allows the Pathfinder to notice nearby monsters more easily by displaying their names and levels above their heads. It allows the Pathfinder to detect monsters about 3 meters further than a normal character, and is most useful for preventing ambushes. [attr="class","h3"]Equipment [attr="class","b2"] [attr="class","skill"]Armor: Salvation's Brace: [Level 20] [Plate Armor]. A simple yet cute set of armor made for clerics who are going for the "Armor Cleric" build. It provides good protection, although for some reason the set that Caerbannog made for Charuen seems to have left the chest area rather vulnerable. Effect: Level 20 HP increase [attr="class","skill"]Left Hand: GF13-017NJ Shining Butter Knife of Ouch: Level 10 Dagger. Some ten levels of Ouch, it can't really kill anyone around the same level except maybe due to blood loss. It's very Ouch though. Effect: Level 10 Elemental Damage (Light) [attr="class","skill"]Right Hand: Trailing Star: [Level 20] [Weapon]. Crafted for clerics who are going for the "Armor Cleric" build, this weapon acts as both a rapier and a wand. As a result, the user can easily switch between fighting monsters on the front line, and healing her allies. A pink jewel that sits on the tip of the rapier is used to channel magic, and is said to have been created using stardust collected from meteor showers. Effect: Level 20 [Reactive Heal] cooldown decrease (-2 seconds) [attr="class","skill"]Shining Crown of the Pure Cleric: Level 10 Hair Accessory. It's gold and shiny. Effect: Level 10 Cure Cast Time Decrease (-1 second). [attr="class","skill"]Accessory#2: Leave blank [attr="class","skill"]Accessory#3: Leave blank [attr="class","skill"]Accessory#4: Leave blank [attr="class","h3"]Inventory [attr="class","b2"](If your character's subclasses allow another item, such as arrows/bolts/puppets, place them here. Otherwise leave blank.) 3 x Potion of Nighteye L22: A potion made from a certain species of herbs that are said to have granted the People of the Land temporary night vision in the past. Due to the low quality of the solvents used to make this potion, it should be drank rather than used as eyedrops according to old Lander testimony. Upon being used, it tints the user's vision green and slightly increases their ability to see in the dark for a short period of time. Its duration and potency depends on the average level of ingredients used to make it. 3 x Medicinal Tablet L22: A healing pill that restores about 825 HP. It is generally considered more convenient than drinking a formula due to the player only needing to swallow or chew the tablet. It has a toxicity rating of 1. After a player drinks potions with a total toxicity rating of 20, any potions taken afterward become halved in effect. Therapeutic Index applied. 5 x Lesser Mana Potion L22: A basic mana potion that restores about 275 MP. It's good for lower levels, but lacks the oomph higher levels need. Therapeutic Index applied. Starter Staff A two-handed starter weapon designed for novice adventurers, made out of cheap wood. It is typically used to channel magic, but can also be used to whack people on the side of the head. You probably should get this replaced as soon as you can. Elder Tale Anniversary Medal: Level 1 accessory. A gold medal that was given out from voting or nominating in the Log Horizon RP's first annual end of the year awards. Its only effect is that equipping it causes either the Elder Tale title theme or the popular Elder Tale Theme Song from the Yamato server's 20th anniversary to play in the wearer's head. The song preference and music can be toggled on or off using the interface when this item is equipped. Starter Platemail Basic set of plate armor made from cheap iron. They are not really too protective, but they are better than going naked—probably. You probably do want to replace these asap, when you think about it. Sakura Solace: Level 20 vanity clothing. "I am so, so, excited to be working with everyone to help adventurers and landers alike in the Unfounded Kingdom." - Charuen (Narrative) Inspired by Kittygrey, this outfit is of an oriental style. It consists of a sleeveless black yukata as well as a long white haori with purple sleeves that can be worn on top. Char saves this outfit for when she is at official events representing her guild, Ephemeral Solace. An insignia of a parasol has been sewn into the inner lining to denote the crafter. Abundant Spring: Level 20 vanity clothing. "The pink haired adventurer navigated the busy streets of Londinium with surprising expertise." - Charuen (Narrative) A simple white and blue dress, this is one of Charuen's more casual outfits. She wears this when she is out adventuring (But not in a dungeon or raid-- she has a separate outfit for that!) or running errands around town. An insignia of a parasol has been sewn into the inner lining to denote the crafter. Ladyknight: Level 20 vanity clothing. "In the case that the monsters respawned and attacked, she would protect the foxtail as she slept." - Charuen (Narrative) An outfit that consists of a long white top with gold accents, a long purple skirt that reaches the ankles, and a pair of white and flowing sleeves. This is the glamour that Charuen has applied for when she partakes in raids and dungeons. It has seems to strike the perfect balance (in terms of aesthetics) for her role as an armor cleric. An insignia of a parasol has been sewn into the inner lining to denote the crafter. Enduring Autumn: Level 15 vanity clothing. "The office was nice and quiet, but sometimes it was just a bit too quiet and felt disconnected from the happenings around the rest of the guild house." - Charuen (Narrative) A modest green and white dress. Charuen wears this while performing day to day activities in the London Infirmary, the headquarters of her guild Ephemeral Solace. An insignia of a parasol has been sewn into the inner lining to denote the crafter. Celestial Rosegarden: Level 15 vanity clothing. "A flower plucked from its home needs a place for it to bloom at its very best." - Midori When asked why she wanted Laelia to join Ephemeral Solace, Midori responded with this line. The tailor would then go on to make this beautiful dress with flowing ribbons, theming its design after the flowerbeds growing in her home in the Lune Seaport. Extremely precious to Charuen, this pink dress is only worn at the most formal events. An insignia of a parasol has been sewn into the inner lining to denote the crafter. Boundless Summer: Level 15 vanity clothing. "Maybe I should come back here when it's warmer, just need a swimsuit." - Nisha A cute white one-piece that accentuates Charuen's curves while still keeping it classy, this swimsuit is both sexy and sophisticated, and perfect for a day at the beach. An insignia of a parasol has been sewn into the inner lining to denote the crafter. Vibrant Winter: Level 15 vanity clothing. "Her cheeks were flushed from the cold, but coupled with her twinkling eyes, the pink haired beauty was radiating with Christmas cheer." - Charuen (Narrative) After seeing the decorations that were starting to be placed up in anticipation of the Snowfell season, Laelia was curious to find out how the season was celebrated by the Adventurers. She found that her answer predominantly revolved around treasuring the bonds you've made with your friends and family and carrying it forward to a new year. In response, the girl designed this red dress. The frills of the dress make it resemble a flower while retaining the festive theme of the holiday season. An insignia of a parasol has been sewn into the inner lining to denote the crafter. Avoir la Pêche: Level 15 vanity clothing. "Thank you for your help... Before you leave, have a drink from the cafe on the house as a token of my gratitude." - Charuen (Narrative) Worn by Charuen when she is working at the cafe, this dress is simple yet classy. The design is reminiscent of dresses worn in the French countryside, thus reflecting the cafe's French inspired menu. An insignia of a parasol has been sewn into the inner lining to denote the crafter. Star Candy Gummybear -- Level 40 Furniture -- A large bear-shaped piece of jelly resembling one of those oversized carnival plushies. [+2 ING] |
