It's been a while since Lunar visited St. Pancreas Station. Before he got sucked into Elder Tale with his brother and before he learned that his ex-father was deceiving them, he often liked to go here because that was where he and Evan used to race to the train whenever they are heading to their schools if they are late or not. But despite that incident completely left him traumatized, the memory of this train station still wasn't tainted and it's because that this is where he can play with his older brother alone once in a while. Because of this, he saw the old remains of the train station as his personal haven and since he learned that it was converted into a crafting station for others to hone their crafting subclasses and Solar wanted him to grow not only a fighter, but a mature boy, he needed to learn more about the game as what Eniko said to him before he left, which is to know more about his Pharmacist class. With his brother's help, he not only has a book containing recipes for starting Pharmacists like him, but he also bought some starting materials for Lunar to use in exchange for paying them with his own money. And with some advice on what items he will start to make, Lunar knew he was ready for this since he liked mixing things out of curiosity as he entered a vacant workspace for him to start working. "Okay, Solar said that potions are important for any situation if a healer isn't around to help. So I should probably start with them first." He thought as he read through the recipe book while he pulled out the ingredients needed for his first craft. "A Medicinal Formula should be a good start then."He then took two herbs and slowly cutting them in pieces for the next step, since he wasn't have experience with knives yet due to him being a kid and relied on his brother to do the cutting for him. Then, he started crushing them with his mortar and pestle, which he knew how whenever he helped his mother out in the kitchen. As he did all that, he felt like he had fun all of the sudden, as if the happy memories before the Catastrophe and the traumatized memory flew into his mind. He guessed that being in St. Pancreas somehow allowed him to calm down and reminisce all of his memories without the bad ones. Because of this, he started to like the station as he continued crushing the herbs. INGREDIENTS: 2x Level 1 Base Herbs, 1x Level 1 Solvent CRAFTING PROGRESS: Medicinal Formula (1/3) WORDS: 434 GOALS: To train his Pharmacist class and create useful items NOTES: As you can see, it takes place after his previous thread (which is still not finished) and after he was reunited with Solar. After he managed to crush the herbs into powder-like substance, Lunar then read the next step before he took out a glass container. "Okay, the next step is that I have to put the powdered herbs into a glass container. That means I have to be careful putting it without spilling it." Then with the mortar filled with crushed herbs on his hands, he carefully tried to transfer the powder into the glass container slowly. But due to his hands shaking thanks to the mortar's weight, most of the crushed herbs made it inside the container while some of them spilled out from it. This was okay for him not because this was his first time, but also whenever he was called to help out by pouring some flour into a cake mix, he, Evan, and his mother usually ended up covered with it. This made him smile at that memory.
After he cleaned up the mess he made, he put his mortar and pestle away and took out some kind of Bunsen burner and a safety match box. Although he didn't like this part due to getting risked to be burned, he did need to preheat it so he can boil the solution. But as he turned on the burner and light up the match, the flame ignited bigger as he expected as some nearby woods caught on fire, which caused Lunar to panic before he shouted, "Oh no! Help, somebody! I need water! Oh man, I wish Solar was here to light it instead of me!"
----
A few minutes later, most of the fire managed to dispersed before it spread even further thanks to the People of the Land and the other Adventurers nearby. However, Lunar was told by one of the Landers that if he wanted to light up his burner again, at least he should ask for adult supervision, which he agreed after what just happened as he accepted the Lander's help if he needed to light his burner again. "Man, and I thought crafting items in this world was the same as in the real world." Back to the task at hand as the burner was still lit, he grabbed a solvent and carefully poured it into the glass container with the crushed herbs. "I hope a half of this should work."

After he poured some solvent into the glass container contained the crushed herbs, Lunar then put it to the Bunsen burner he just lighted after an accident with it as he stirred it altogether before he left it on the burner to brought it to a boil. But not wanted to catch this workspace on fire like last time, he decided to stay in here and read more recipes in his book while he waited for the solution to warm up. As he waited, he opened the book and read through the rest of the recipes, which he was curious about. While some of the potions are even hard for him to understand and make, he found some curious recipes that he wanted to making, which he felt he can make along with the recommended potions that his brother told him earlier.
After a few minutes, the glass container started to warm up, which allowed Lunar to stir in the solution. And as he stirred it with his stirring stick, bits of the crushed herbs started to disappear into the liquid due to the heat of the burner. And when he stopped, he gave it another few minutes to heat the solution. "Just a few more minutes and it's done." He muttered before he went back on reading his book. "I wonder if Solar needs one of my potions as well?"
And when the few minutes are up, the solution has come to a boil, which Lunar used his mittens to brought it out from the burner before he turned it off and stir the solution to finish the potion. When he was done stirring, he pulled out a decorative potion bottle and pour the solution into it very slowly so he wouldn't spill. And closing the bottle with a bottle cork, Lunar smiled in relief that his first Medicinal Formula was done. "Wow, that's somehow harder than I thought, but it's worth it. Now to try out another one of the potions Solar mentioned."

After he put away his newly created Medicinal Formula, Lunar decided to move on to the next recommended potion, the Lesser Mana Potion. When he thought about it, it was not only the recommended potion that Solar gave him, but also Eniko's when they first met in his first day after the Catastrophe. After his first battles thanks to Eniko taught him the basics of his new world, he was given some advice, including watching out for his MP drain or he won't able to use anymore skills in a battle. Because of this and a recipe he just found, Lunar decided to make this potion so he can be ready for anything. He then pulled out another bottle of solvent and two new items, which the shopkeeper called them Mana Fragments, the crystallized form of mana. Although his brother told him that these can be obtained as an Alchemist, but he decided to save the trouble and purchased them instead.
But just as he picked up the fragments, they started to melt upon contact on the top-half of his fingers, which caused Lunar to startled before he dropped them on the table in shock. "Yikes! The shopkeeper wasn't kidding about the crystals melt upon contact. Which wearing these gloves isn't gonna help since the top-half of my fingers are exposed. But just in case, I better used some tongs to grab them instead." He then grabbed one of the Mana Fragments and dropped each one into a mortar and with his pestle, he slowly crushed them into powder like the herbs before while he read through the recipe book that he stood with a small box that he found lying on the ground earlier. When he did, he slowly put the crushed Mana Fragments into a cleaned glass container from before. "All right, now to pour in the solvent. Should be easy considering it's the same as the Medicinal Formula."

With the solvent in his hand, he carefully and slowly poured the solvent into the glass container like his last craft earlier and like before, he managed not to spill outside the glass container, much to his relief. But after what happened with the Bunsen burner earlier, he decided to get an adult supervision as Lunar gone out from his workplace to find someone to light it up. When he did, he brought them back to his workplace and let them light up the match while he opened the burner's gas. After that and let the Lander left to go back to his usual activities, he put the glass container under the burner and waited for it to warm up.
But before he can return reading the book, his stomach growled, which he groaned in dismay when he saw the time on his Interface, which was almost to 12 PM. "Oh no. Not now!" Due to his excitement of making some potions to gain AP for his Pharmacist class, he forgot to buy lunch and since he already turned on the burner, he knew he can't leave the workplace or it will catch on fire when he did. Because of this, he put the burner on low fire to make sure the solution slowly warmed up before he left his workplace in a hurry. "I got a few minutes so I can continue working on the potion. Or else, Solar won't be happy when I burn down a workplace or worst, burn down the station."
Not wanted to let a worst case scenario happen, he ran into a nearby food booth and quickly asked the vendor for a fried meal, a soda, and some dessert. But to his dismay, he just needed to wait for a few minutes for his order to be ready. Although the time was ticking, he didn't want them to rush, so he decided to read the recipe book while he hold out his patience. But after a few minutes later, he became impatient and just as he lost his temper, he noticed some recipes on his book. "Impure Poison and Medicinal Tablet?" When he read those, his memory of his brother suddenly emerged in his mind and said, "According to the game guide in the internet, Assassins not only rely on damage-per-second, or DPS attacks, but also rely on inflicting poison status effect on their enemies. And even if you don't have a skill that focused on creating poison on your weapon temporarily, you can rely on making some poison with your Pharmacist class. Also, potions can be helpful, but I doubt that they are fast enough for you to get back to battle."
As for the latter, it said in it's description that he needed only to swallow or chew the tablet to restore health, which caused him to decide on his next craft later. But speaking of his crafts, he realized too much time has passed when the vendor gave him his lunch, which he had time to grab them and ran back to his workplace while dodging most of the Adventurers and Landers. And before he can panic any further, he then sighed in relief when his workplace was still intact and his solution only warmed up, which he then put his lunch on another table and stirred it to mix it altogether.

After he stirred the solution when the crushed Mana Fragments disappeared into it, he increased the fire as he gave it a few more minutes to heat up the solution. While he waited for it, he prepared his lunch at the separate table so he can start eating later when he wondered about his classes that his brother choose for him before the Catastrophe. First was the Assassin, which he told him that it was a DPS class that focused on one-hit kills and since he wanted to finish every battle quickly or wanted to fight along with his brother with a blade, Solar choose this class for his character, which he agreed without any hesitation to help him out every time they play. While his Apprentice subclass, which he didn't switched yet until later was obviously to start out without any difficulty, his Pharmacist subclass choice was because he wanted his character to be a true Assassin. By using poison to weaken them and finished them off with a powerful skill, his character was a great asset to any party.
Lunar thought Solar was exaggerated about his character, until his encounter with Eniko during the Catastrophe made him realized why he wanted him to play those classes. Even though he still a fragile boy, with some Adventurers along with Eniko and Solar, he felt that he might able to conquer his tragic past and fears and able to fight alongside with his brother. After he thought those out, he noticed his solution was boiling, which he then turned off the burner, took the glass container filled with the solution out of it with his mittens, and stirred it to mix it all together before he poured the potion into another decorative potion bottle, which finished his Lesser Mana Potion.
"Thank goodness I managed to finish it without burning it. I spent 20 minutes waiting for my lunch." He said to himself, only to stopped when his stomach was rumbling again. "Speaking of which, I better eat before I can do anything else." With that said, he sat near the table with his lunch and started eating.

As he ate his lunch, Lunar then wondered what kind of item should he crafted next. He just saw his level up notification as his level went up from one to five while he saw that his subclass change from Apprentice to Tracker was completed, which means he now have to decide on his fighting style as Eniko suggested to him. If he could remember, he fought like him since both of them wield scythes. However, he wanted to fight differently which involved something his love of snowball fights. He liked to throw things and sometimes, his aim often hits specifically to his older brother, so he might buy something at the store later. As for the next item he should craft, he decided to make a Smoke Grenade that he found on the recipe book since he wanted to make an easy escape in case something goes wrong.
To start with, he left his workspace for a moment and went to a nearby herbal shop to buy a few materials. The Smoke Grenade needed burnable herbs to work, but he needed to be careful with them as he didn't want to repeat the burner incident earlier. He looked around the booth to search for some herbs until the shopkeeper arrived and asked, "Welcome, kid! Anything you're interested in?" He was still young, but he needed to be truthful. He can't gain from anything if he could just lie all of the time. "I'm looking for herbs that are burnable. You see, I'm a Pharmacist making a Smoke Grenade and I need all of the right materials for it."
The shopkeeper was surprised. He didn't knew a boy like him would want to make something dangerous. "A-Are you sure? These stuffs' dangerous to make, you know." He understand the consequences, but he needed them just to make the grenade. "Don't worry, I'll be careful. If something's gone wrong, I'll call somebody to help me out." Although worried about the young Assassin's safety, the shopkeeper regardless showed him some herbs he wanted and after a few minutes of comparing them, Lunar bought what he wanted and went back to his workspace to start his Smoke Grenade.

Now returned in his workspace, Lunar pulled out his mortar and pestle to start working on his Smoke Grenade. In order to make it, he needed a round flask, burnable herbs like the ones he bought, and a fuse to activate it. He didn't knew what smoke grenades looked like though, so he decided to go simple with the materials he had. First off, he put the herbs into the mortar and crushed them with his pestle. He needed it to crushed it into a powder so it can burn lightly while not turning it into a literal grenade that might blow up the whole station. After a few seconds, he managed to crushed the herbs into powder. But just in case, he stored some of them into a separate flask and threw a lighted matchstick into it to test it as he waited a few seconds to lit.
The good news: The powder created a smoke instead of blowing the flask up. The bad news: it created too much smoke, which caused Lunar to coughed when it got too close to him. "Too much, too much!" He can only said as he opened the door to let the smoke out, which caused the other people outside to coughed and ran away from the smoke. "Whoops... My bad..." Although it works, maybe he should test it outside next time. Nevertheless, he did managed to crushed the herbs to the right consistency. Now to find some flasks for him to store to finish up his grenade.

After he cleared out most of the smoke he made, Lunar headed out to find a set of round flasks to finish his Smoke Grenade. He might break a lot of flasks whenever he activate them, so he needed to stock up some flasks to make more grenades just in case. He went to a nearby glass store to find some flasks and there, he noticed some flasks that might have similarities to his envisioned grenade as he approached the shopkeeper and asked for their uses. To his relief, the flasks are not only for all purpose uses, but they are also cheap, enough so he can restock them in case he ran out. Although he bought dozens of flasks, he felt it might be safe if he can just make one grenade for today.
As he went to a next store, he worked on the fuse next. The thread must not be too thin or too think, otherwise the fuse won't activate the Smoke Grenade in 5-10 seconds as he imagined. Upon he arrived at the tailor shop, he asked the shopkeeper for a string that might help with the grenade he was currently crafting. Despite the worries that the shopkeeper showed when he explained his plans before Lunar assured to her that he will be careful and call for help when something goes wrong, they decided to weaved some threads together to create rope-like thickness, which gave him the last item for finishing his grenade.
Back at his workspace, Lunar started to assemble the grenade. First, he poured the crushed herbs into the round flask carefully so all of the powder got in. Then, he drilled a hole into a cork and insert the thread into the hole. Lastly, he added a white ribbon to help him recognized the grenade and when he put the cork with thread tightly on the flask, the Smoke Grenade was complete. "Pretty dangerous, but at least it's somehow easy. Speaking of which..."

Poison, he heard that it's one of the Assassin's secret weapons. Although he was uncomfortable about it, he did need to use it to incapacitate his opponents. But on the safe safe, an easy-to-make Impure Poison should help him start it out. However, he needed different type of herbs to do that and thankfully, Solar somehow already knew about this as he saw some strange-looking herbs inside the paper bag he used to carry the materials. Judging by it's foul smell, he knew those might be poisonous, but not dangerous for him to smell, which is perfect for his Impure Poison. "You really know what I want, huh Solar?" He muttered with a smile. He always knew that Solar is crazy prepared just for his own little brother.
First off with a cleaned mortar and pestle, he put the herbs into the former and started to crush them into powdery-like substance just like the two potions he made earlier, which made him thought of this like the others. However, the potion he was making was a poison unlike them, so he had to be careful not to accidentally swallow it or he might have an one-way ticket to the Cathedral. He knew making a poison was illegal, but in this new world, there are no rules against this. Plus, it was his protection and his secret weapon so no monster can chase him whenever he escapes from them. "Making this really scares me, but..."
Lunar then looked out of his workspace and then wondered, "Do I have to keep fighting and face against criminals that might hurt me just like my former father? Do I still need to endure more pain just to live in this world?" He and Solar already learned that they can revive when they encountered an Adventurer who got revived inside the Cathedral, but thinking about it made him scared even more. Regardless, he decided to think about his new life as he continued to crush the herbs with his pestle.

After he crushed the poisonous herbs into powder, it was time to heat up his poison solution. But due to it's poisonous smell overwhelmed him, Lunar had to wore a face mash that Solar also bought for him to prevent himself from it. When he did and asked an adult to light up the Bunsen burner once more, he poured both the solvent and the crushed herbs into the glass container to heat it first and since the potion he made this time was dangerous, he had to stay here to make sure nobody would come in and sniff or drink it by accident. As he waited, he wondered about the recipes he found in the book. Most of these items are very useful, enough for him to even make healing potions just for everyone. Heck, he might try to make some as a job. But he wondered if he might able to at his current age or Solar might accept his goal.
But skipping that subject for a while, he stirred the solution to melt the crushed herbs into the solvent. After that, he let it simmer for a while, which gave him the time to go out to browse some shops for a while. As he did, he noticed some shops that sold potions such as Medicinal Potions, Mana Potions, and other potions from his recipe book. Not only that, the people who sold then are Adventurers. This made him wondered if he might able to do the same. Solar's dream was to invent something to help him and the others, so he wanted to do the same with his job. Regardless, he was not confident about it and should asked his brother about it later.

As he continued to walk around the train station, Lunar was still wondered about owning a shop like them. He wanted to make some potions, but he didn't knew how to sell them. He was still a kid and don't know about the selling business yet. He might ask Solar about it, but he might have little knowledge about it. He also might ask to other Adventurers, but he was too afraid that he might talk to bad people. "Man, I can't think any longer." Too conflicted about this, he decided to return to his workspace to finish the poison and ask his brother about opening his potion shop later. "I hope it didn't burn my whole workspace. I don't want to burn the whole station, I barely managed to put out the fire if the adults wouldn't came in time."
When he returned to his workspace, Lunar still didn't forget about the poison solution that he simmered as he turned off the burner and stirred the solution to mix it all together before he poured it into a small round flask and tied a purple ribbon onto it's neck. And to finish it off, he stuck a label with a poison warning symbol to make sure he would recognize it and prevent himself from accidentally drink it. "There, finished. Looks like this might help me out in some battles in the near future." He said as he put his newly made Impure Poison into his bag. It was dangerous, but a great weapon for him to use. However, he felt that he needed to make one more potion before he call it quits.

For his last item to make for today, Lunar flipped through the pages of the book when he come across a strange potion. "What is this? "Potion of Nighteye", a potion that can gives me temporary night vision? That's somehow cool, it should help either me or Solar in some scary caves or dungeons." He muttered as he continued reading. "It's also made from a certain species of herbs. Hmm... I wonder if the shops still have this kind of herb, though." He knew his answers should be at the said shop, he left his workspace once more to visit the same shop. When he reached the herbal shop, he saw the shopkeeper and approached him to ask, "Sorry to bother you again, sir. But I was wondering if you have another kind of herbs."
"Sure, what kind of herbs are you talking about then?" He then showed the picture of the herb from his book, which he recognized it. "Yeah, I have those ever since that Icy kid discovered it. And luckily for you, there are some last batches at the back." Lunar smiled at what he said, which he was now able to make the potion. "Can I have a dozen then?" The shopkeeper then used the abacus to count the total price of his order. "Well, what do think of this price then?" He didn't knew about abacus until his mother taught him how, so he managed to read the abacus, which he smiled that the total price for the herbs are enough for him to buy them. "Yeah, that will do."
After he paid him with the exact gold he had earned, he left the herbal shop with the newly bought herbs in his hands with the shopkeeper. "All right, time to make that potion. Hope it's the same as the other potions, though."

When he arrived back to his workspace, Lunar decided to light up the Bunsen burner first. The first attempt unfortunately almost made a fire if the Landers managed to put out the fire, but right now, he decided to do it by himself and learned his mistakes, he put it in a lower setting this time and to his relief, it only ignited in a small flame when he light it with a matchstick. With that taken care of, he then put the herbs he bought into the mortar and pestle and started crushing them until it was turned into powder. After that, he put another bottle of solvent and the crushed herbs into the glass container and stirred them together before he put it on the Bunsen burner and let it heat for a while.
But curious on how the potion works, Lunar read through the book to know more about it. "Let's see... Due to the low quality of the solvents, it should be drank instead of using them as eyedrops. Well, I don't know how it tasted like, but it might be better than the time I tried putting some by myself." He never forget that memory as due to his experience, he had to asked Solar to help him out. "Also, depending on the quality and level of the ingredients will affect the duration and potency of the potion's effects. Well, I bought some Level 5 herbs and solvent, so it should be take longer I think..." He then wondered that due to these ingredients, he might have a potion that has higher quality than his previous potions, but he can't confirm it once he tested it. Regardless, he knew it will help him in his future excursions as he waited for the solution to heat up.

As the solution continued to boil, Lunar stirred the solution to make sure the crushed herbs melted into it before he continued reading his book. As he did, he was amazed at the number of recipes found in this book. But with this number of recipes, he knew he can't make them all as he only have limited time before he gone out to train his levels. But when he might have the time, he can craft more of these items in the near future. If he can, then he might able to save himself with these potions and whatnots along making more of this for his brother. Maybe his dream of opening up his own potion shop might come true with his brother's permission, if he can get one from him though.
Speaking of potions, he realized that the potion he was worked on was almost finished as he took out the solution from the heat and stirred it before he transferred it into a round flask. "There, the Potion of Nighteye is finished!" He said as he tied a navy blue ribbon onto it's neck and smiled in his accomplishment, which made him inspired and excited to make another potion. But when he saw the clock on his interface, he knew he didn't have a lot of time left to make more potions. "And I think I'm done crafting for now. I better go before Solar might get even more worried about me." As he cleaned up his tools, he smiled to the fact that he will come back to St. Pancreas Station to not just seeing his brother build something, but also to craft more items as he can imagined.
