Although Fenrir was not planning on taking the lead from Xai he was perfectly find with doing so if only she asked. He had expected this little trip into the city to be something more mutual, just moving around by whatever inspired one or the other the quickest. He had no clue that Xai had expected him to take some sort of lead, or would have a plan. He was as much at a lost as she was. Sure they were friends, but even with that there was only so much he knew about her. Fenrir would like to say they he was an expert on everything Xai, but that was a lie. It was the same for her too, she knew him, probably better than most people, but she did not know everything. How could they? This life, no matter how nice it was, was not the life they had been born with. Even now, Fenrir knew that he had forgotten some things, but not the most important. Like his sister, or how his parents betrayed her love. To think that he had to lie to his sister, just so she could think that the parents that gave her life had loved her as much as they loved him.
Fenrir was not the biggest fan of just blatantly lying like that, but there was a time and place for everything, and as long as Fenrir felt that he was doing the right thing, for himself or the people he cared about, then he would lie on everything and anything. Maybe that was where the selfish part of him was, hidden behind the lies, he just could not bare to allowed himself to look bad, or let those he knew, family and friends, be harmed, whether it be the best thing for them or not. Even Xai was on that list, if there just so happen to be something about him, or in his past that he felt that she would not like, or disprove of then he would keep it hidden. Maybe that was why he would only tell her so much about his sister, after all it was hard to explain that he was someone that could sacrifice his whole life for someone else and was willing to do it all over again. That this pass year of being free, having fun with no worries would soon come to an end. There was no explaining that, and Fenrir was not about to share anymore then he had to, that was that.
"Well since it doesn't bother us either way, we'll set the day to leave the day after tomorrow, and if that works then it works, if not, as I said I'm in no rush, we'll figure it all out." Leaving Londinium, those words seemed so weird in Fenrir's head. He had tried leaving once, long ago, but since he was alone and had no idea what he was doing, it had not ended well. That one day was the whole reason why Fenrir had taken so long, he doesn't know if Xai had ever tasted the experience of dying in this world, but even though you do come back, the feeling is still strange. He had experienced more fear then he was willing to admit and did not look forward to the idea of ever dying again. Maybe that was why he promised Xai that he would let no harm come to her, he did not want her to feel the same fear that he did.
"Come on, lets get our fortunes told?" While they had been mindlessly talking and walking along, they had both ended up near the fortune teller's tent. He was still unsure of this, but thought that even if whatever the person said was completely confusing, he would just rub it off and call it a day. After all, Fenrir could not believe, that even in this world of magic, that someone would be able to tell your future just by reading your palm or looking into some silly crystal ball. It was all for the fun of it right? So why couldn't he get his legs to go in first. To cover his uncertainty he gestured to Xai for her to go first. "You can go first, since it was your suggestion, I don't really believe in this stuff."

[attr="class","lyric"]baby, i'm preying on you tonight [attr="class","word"] 734 (1101) WORDS "The day after tomorrow sounds just splendid, Fenrir!" Finally making some decisions, wasn't he? Xai smiled though - and she tried to make it appear as genuine as possible. Now Fenrir really wasn't as spineless as she was making him out to be, but it was fun having her dominance for the time being. She knew they would soon be changing their positions. And Xai was prepared for the adventure - she had thought of every mishap she could possibly think of going wrong, and then some. While there were simply some things that she couldn't prevent (without a cleric actively healing them they were kind of in trouble, that was a given, and they faced chance of death everywhere they would potentially go), there were some things that she could. So when she said that she was prepared, she was very prepared. Her own crafting ability lended its hand to her. Not that she had ever really thought she would be using it for it's practical way, but hey it was preparation.
And she was a coward. A coward in the face of death. She may be bold and daring and stubborn to a fault, and able to lead herself into trouble, she didn't want to die if she could help it. She wanted to keep her record clean. She knew what happened when adventurers died - they respawned and paid very little for their life back, but she wasn't even willing to sacrifice that much. No, no she was a coward. She didn't know what it felt like to die, and she didn't want to. She was scared of it and for once she might admit to someone, if they asked, that she feared death. Even if it was temporary. Even if there was little reason to fear it now as opposed to back in real life. She stayed in Londinium for that one fact, and now wolf boy was taking her on a journey that would definitely push her out of her comfort zone.
But all seriousness aside, Xai hoped Fenrir had prepared and they needn't talk about it further. She only needed to know when and where they departed, and hopefully he would have the rest taken care of. Starting with where they were going, where they would be staying and how they would subsist through fighting, two level ones out of the safety of the city. She was really hoping he would have practiced a little with his new class. She could summon things, yes, but she wasn't proficient at it, not really.
And now, well now Fenrir was going to see a side of her that he rarely sees, if he ever did before. If this was going to be a date, she was summoning her inner Annabelle and letting all her desires from the real world take over. Oh, how she always wanted a boyfriend to act romantically with. No sex or anything, just being cute together in public and all that. Ha... she wondered if there were any vendors that had games he could play and win prizes for her. Surely there were - this was a Valentine's event, and that was the epitome of the holiday! Aside from flowers and chocolate and all that.
Cutely enough, wolf boy was hesitant getting into the tent they had so conveniently ended up in front of. She frowned a little - did he not want to, even though he had agreed to this? Well, Xai didn't want to force him to do anything, but it was some harmless fortune telling. It's not like she was going to foretell something awful, not on Valentine's anyways. That's how they got their customers to come back. "Are you nervous? That's cute. But since this is Valentine's and it's so obvious it's fortune telling for couples you just have to go in with me." She enunciated her words dramatically. Xai hardly gave him a chance to respond or even protest as she wrapped her hands around his wrist and practically dragged him in. When the two of them were both inside, she hugged that same arm so he couldn't escape, pressing it firmly against her chest, between her breasts.
"Hi! Can you tell our fortune for us, please? We'd love to hear it." And we have the coin for it too., Xai wanted to add, but she just kept on smiling brightly at the woman in there.

Although it felt like Xai was pushing on him to make the decisions, Fenrir really did not have a problem with that. The only thing that bothered him was what if he made a poor choice? What if he decided something and then Xai protested his choice. This was why he tried to keep things equal, trying to make it more about suggestions then demands. He wanted her to feel comfortable with him, after all they would be traveling together for a while now, so it made sense that he wanted her opinion along with his own. He had picked the day, and would worry about the rest of the details later, he had an idea of the direction he wanted to head in, so once they left it would be left up to talking a long walk. They really didn't have the money to buy mounts, and he wanted to stay away from just taking random transportation. Mostly because he had chance of knowing if on their trip that he might just end up finding his sister along on a road and not in a town. Because of this he wanted to travel my the most common paths that people would take when walking or riding a mount. Now that things were being decided and there was little more to worry about Fenrir shrugged the rest of it off. No more talk of their adventure, today was meant to just be about relaxing and having fun, it made no sense to carry on with worries when they could talk about that later.
He had been hesitant about doing the fortune telling, a piece because he didn't want to believe in it and the other because he wasn't sure he wanted to hear what the woman would have to say. The biggest twist was when Xai grabbed his wrist and pulled him inside, something he had not been expected and was not ready for. He should have seen this coming, since they had some how agreed to treat this as a date, it only made sense that they should really try to play the part of a couple. Though if this was true then he was playing the boyfriend that was being willingly dragged around by his girlfriend only because it made her happy to do so. They entered the tent, Fenrir almost tripping over his own feet as he was forcefully pulled inside. He did gain his footing quickly enough so that when Xai linked arms with him, he was standing straight. He did glace over at Xai just for a moment, an eyebrow raised as she held his arm across her chest, as if making sure that he would not leave her. "Alright, alright I get it." If she was really this determined then he would agree to doing this as a couple, he just better not get ant bad news.
He looked at the woman in front of them, she seemed happy to see the pair and gestured for Fenrir and Xai to take a seat. Although attached to Xai by his arm, he did his best to take a seat as directed. "So yea can -" He was cut off when the woman lifted her hand in a sign of telling him to be quiet. He squinted his eyes at her but stayed quiet since he was not willing to get this lady or Xai angry with him. "Shh, first I need you to do something for me, so I may have a better reading of your relationship." The woman spoke as she reached into a bag and pulled out two small stones and asked both fenrir and Xai to each hold one in their hand and to grip it tightly. "Now gaze into each other's eyes while holding the stone, take a deep breath and say the first thing that comes to your mind when looking at the other person.."
Fenrir relaxed and took the stone, held it in his hand and turned slightly to face and took a deep breath. "Gorgeous." It was the first word he thought of, followed by beautiful, sly, smart, and so on. He really did not have just one word to represent Xai, but that one would just have to do. He really felt worried about all this, but maybe these nerves were not all because of what he thought they were.

[attr="class","lyric"]baby, i'm preying on you tonight [attr="class","word"] 680 (1020) WORDS She was giddy with excitement. She had not often gotten her fortunes told by someone or other, here or in the real world. Back then, well, she wasn't exactly known for being the most promiscuous. At least here someone could make a case about it. Point was - she wanted to experience this whole couples thing because she hadn't really been in a relationship enough for something like this. Plus, back in reality she wouldn't dare waste money on something that was so obviously contrived and fake. But here, well, money wasn't exactly the hardest thing to come by. And there was little harm in doing this. Fenrir thought it was a good idea, and it was a good idea to kill some time with. And maybe something the fortune teller said would be kind of true - something to hint that there was a good sign in their adventures. Something like that.
She sat down next to Fenrir and patiently awaited for the directions from the teller. It might be unconventional and all, but she found it not as bad as she thought it would be. There wasn't all this mysticism that surrounded the ones in real life. Then again, she was a fox tail and there were wolf hairs and other odd breeds here, not to mentions monsters and such. So applying logic from the real world to here was not the best application she could have of it. She took the stone from the lady, and she held onto it tightly. And then she said to think of the first word that came to her mind and...
"W-" Shit, she didn't want to continue on. She hadn't thought of a word but a phrase, a phrase that Fenrir would absolutely NOT be delighted to hear at all. Warm dildo probably won't make him very happy as a descriptor for him, especially not as the first thing she thought about him. "Wonderful." That was a nice, good, generic term. Hopefully he didn't notice her tripping over the word for a second. Hopefully the fortune teller didn't notice either, but if she did she gave no indication for it. This was not true to what she was thinking - she didn't simply think of Fenrir as a warm thing to play with, but she was just plagued with thoughts of what would happen tonight and it just kind of found it's way there.
She started to pull out some tarot cards. Xai had always thought they were very pretty to look at but she could never discern the art of actually interpreting them. Nor was she particularly caring of such a thing - there was simply too much else she wanted to learn and telling fortunes was not something that particularly piqued her interest. But she did not mind if someone else interpreted them for her. She could probably base her own thoughts on the cards on whatever she was told. As the fortune teller shuffled the cards expertly, she asked the two of them questions. "Has anything out of the ordinary happen, lately? Are you anticipating something, or have you seen any odd signs lately? Anything at all."
Besides being asked out on this date and Fenrir suddenly inviting her to go on an adventure to find his sister, Xai didn't feel as though anything was out of the ordinary. "Well, we're anticipating leaving town to track someone down, but otherwise nothing on my end." She glanced over to Fenrir to see if maybe he had something to contribute to this, what with all his sudden want to up and leave to find his sister that had been gone for a year. That was a little odd, if anything was. But that was not her's to impart, especially to a stranger. Who knew what was going on inside his mind, anyways? Certainly not Xai, and most certainly not anything concerning or about his sister. That was all him. "And it's also almost Chinese New Year. I'm anticipating celebrating that too, but I doubt that counts in the grand scheme of things."

No matter what Fenrir was unsure that he would be able to believe in anything that would be said, but he felt like this was something that had to be done. If Xai wanted to play the part of a couple, who was he to stop the fun. It was not like a little fortune telling was going to hurt anyone, even so, normally the teller always tried to tell the people what they wanted to hear. Good news, something that would make them happy. There was no magic in the real world, but here that was a very different statement. Here they had people with ears and tails, people that could do magic and monsters that roam the land. So why was it that he could not believe that there could be someone that could read into the future, if even a little. There was things like destiny and the whole concept of the future that Fenrir had a problem with. He was willing to hear it, but belief was a different thing.
Fenrir's ear twitched at the hitch in Xai's word, as if she had second thoughts on the word she wanted to use, or better yet the word that was the first to be thought of. She covered well with wonderful, but it did leave Fenrir wondering. Not that he was about to pry into anything. A slip up or not, he was not about to ask what she was going to say, since her got a sinking feeling that he did not want to know the answer. He shifted his attention to the teller and watched as she pulled out some cards and started to ask some questions that he was not sure about having and answer to. "Not really, I mean I've gotten this feeling lately that I need to go find my sister, that she's out there waiting for me, and the Xai would be the perfect person to travel with, but really I've been wanting to look for my sister for a long time, just felt that I never had the skill or enough money to do so. Now I'm not really worried about that."
The teller only nodded at she continued to shuffle her cards, she continued to ask some questions, although Fenrir was starting to feel bothered by all the questions. "How long have you been together? Any problems so far?" She was just making idle chat as she got her deck of cards ready and placed them down on the table before them. Seven cards in the shape of an H, Fenrir felt an uneasiness as he looked down at the cards, he even went as far to distract himself by answering her questions. "A good year or so, never anything damaging, she's a bit of a pain sometimes, but in a good way." He could live without her sleeping with everyone he knew, but that was a habit he doubt that she would ever get out of.
The woman guestered towards the cards and spoke carefully. "We will direct a simple question towards the cards and they will give us the answer we are looking for. Today we will focus on the qustion: What forces are at work in my partnership? and see what we will get." She smiled to put the couple at ease before continuing. "Although I will share the meaning behind each card, in the end it is up to you as a couple to work on understanding what it may all mean. Evey couple is different and have things in their past or near future that only they could understand or predict." She flipped the first card, "6 of wands inverted, A competitor is feeling victorious. Adversaries gain ground against you. Setbacks." She looked between Fenir and Xai. "Could mean something as simple as there issomething holding one or both of you back, or there is someone out there that want to keep you apart."
She moved on to the next card, continuing her explanation, without allowing Fenrir or Xai to say anything. "King of swords, inverted. Favoritism and nepotism are at work. Someone has the inside track. What appears an even race is far from it. Maybe one of you is favoring one more then the other." She still had five more cards to go, so she kept going leaving Fenrir to wonder how much of this could really be false or truth. "9 of cups, inverted? Hmm I see, very interesting." She paused for a moment before saying what the card meant. "Spending beyond one's means. A loan that cannot be repaid. An abuse of generosity. A false display of power and promise." She shook her head a little, "Is one favoring the other more maybe?"
"Lets see what comes between you two, Ah The Star, Faith brings unexpected assistance. Dreams should never be put aside and must always remain part of one's personal life-equation. Hope springs eternal as does the light of the star. Look far into the distance. Basically, if you two keep at it everything will be just fine." Three more cards to go, they were all most at the end. Fenrir was more then ready to just get out of there, but he need to get this done first, for Xai. "Oh dear... The 9 of pentacles, inverted, a bad risk. What was ventured has now been lost. A waste of time or money. A message regarding damage and loss." She shook her head. "I would be careful on your future travels, you may lose something." Two more cards to go, and it would all be over. "The Moon, inverted, not a bad card really. Dreams inspire but also deceive. The moon rules all dreams, those prophetic and those that are mere fantasy. You must decide." And then the final card.
"And now for the most important card, this card will say if this relationship is worth it, if it has room to grow. Wonderful, the Queen of pentacles. Insight and understanding. A confident ability to see through the surface and see underlying values. A sure and contemplative person. A person exhibiting a deeper awareness." She smiled and sat back. "You will have many challenges, but in the end, your love will prevail." Well it could have been worse, was all Fenrir could thing about as he looked over at Xai, he couldn't help but add. "Are you happy now?"

"Any treasure you obtain without ever having to work for it is no treasure at all."
|
Jac had decided to take advantage of the onset of the Coconia Festival to work on his crafting and maybe make a little bit of money as well. Having set up a stall in the Festival Square the Foxtail Artisan was dressed in a comfortable outfit with a kerchief covering his hair and a scarf around his neck should he receive a request for something crafted from stone. His tools had been set up around him and a small sign advertised paintings, sculptures and pottery for the loved ones of whomever was interested in obtaining a work of art for themselves or significant other.
It didn't take long before an elderly man, a Lander, stopped by to talk to him and together they plotted out a design for a decorative pot that he wanted to have made for his wife. With scrap paper out and a stick of charcoal in his hand Jac sketched out a number of potential designs based on the man's suggestions as they worked together to come up with something that was possible for the Artisan to make but also made the customer happy to purchase it.
Eventually they came up with a design that the old man was happy with and Jac began to get to work. Hauling a hunk of clay up from the block he had gotten for the festival the Artisan coated it with water and plopped it onto the spinning wheel. Taking a seat on his stool he began to spin the wheel with his foot, the clay turning into an oddly shaped blur as it sped up. Before the eyes of anyone who was interested in watching he would begin to work, using his hands to first centre the clay into the middle of the wheel. This was to make sure that the clay would rotate cleanly and smoothly throughout the shaping process, and prevent it from becoming unstable due to being off-centre.
The foundations now laid, the Artisan began to lift the clay up until it formed a cone, his fingers pressing into the centre as he began to hollow it out into a more obvious pot-like shape. He deftly shaped the wet clay, dipping his hands into the nearby water every so often to ensure that there was little friction between skin and clay. Up and up he pulled the clay, shaping it into vase like form as he went, keeping the sides reasonably thick as he worked the clay to form the walls of the pot. It would take some effort for him to take the next step but he was determined to do it right, especially considering the eyes that he could feel watching him from the street. After all the sight of someone spinning clay was rather mesmerising and the last thing he wanted was to have the clay collapse under its own weight while he was being viewed.
With one hand he reached into the growing pot, pressing against the lower inside to gently bulge the centre, while his other hand pressed against the upper portion of the outer section of the pot, making it so that the top had a smaller circumference than the centre. Once he had the basic shape he took out a small stick with a wadded rag at the end and dipped it in the water before pressing it gently against the sides of the pot and resuming the rotation of the potter's wheel. With each rotation the rag smoothed out the furrows in the clay from where his fingers had shaped the pot, until the entire surface was smooth.
Putting away the tools he had used thus far, Jac took out a clay stylus and his personal stamp in order to decorate the piece of pottery. The first step was to find the right place to put his stamp without it being too obvious. Eventually he picked a spot on the lower portion of the pot and pressed the carved stone into the clay, leaving a perfect impression of the Artisan's mark on the item. All that remained now was to shape the decoration of the pot, glaze it, and put it into the kiln. Glancing at his sketch to remind himself of the plan he had worked out with his customer, Jacoben began to stencil in the various lines that formed the intricate knotwork that he planned to form. It was an interesting change from similar work with stone, being much quicker to form the requisite shapes than when it needed to be carved from solid stone.
Over and under the celtic pattern knotwork was formed, the wedge shaped stylus pushing the clay up in the centre to form a slightly higher pattern that gave the image some depth. It wasn't easy to judge what line went where, and he needed to make sure that he smoothly went around the image of the nine tailed fox that was his signature. Once the process was complete he went over the pot once more with the rag-stick to smooth out as many imperfections as he could. That left the glazing and firing process before the pot was complete.
A thick brush was dipped in the glaze mixture and then painted carefully over the clay. Jac had to be careful or the glaze would be too thick or thin at different places, and that would result in a poorly made piece of pottery. Rotating it one last time to check and make sure that the mixture was just right the Artisan picked up the pot and placed it in the small kiln he had procure content that he had done the best job that he could. After assuring the man that it would take about an hour to complete the firing process (something that was much faster than in the other world, but he wasn't going to complain) Jacoben began to clean himself up, relishing the feeling of having the clay cleaned off of his dirty hands as he waited for another customer to come and ask him to make something for them.

Lets Play Elder Tales. Hp: 100 Mp:100 ▼ Tagged: None Wc: 2151 NOTES:
| The pink candy floss haired druid sat awkwardly across from the lander known as Tadashi, fidgeting as the black haired blue eyed lander grinned from ear to ear. "It is great to see you, Zyrune!" The elderly shop keeper beamed, leaning closer while the druid tried his best not to shrink away from the other's friendliness. The man was the owner of Zyrune's favorite tailoring equipment store and as luck would have it, enjoying the festival just as much as the druid and his companion had been. Of all placed to run into him, it had to be now. It was odd, Zyrune hadn't really gotten on with adventurers very well but people of the land seemed to like him considerably, maybe they took pity on him. He couldn't remember the man's name, but the lander seemed to be in a good mood asking him to stop by the shop and check out some new materials later on.
Unfortunately as much as Zyrune wanted to enjoy the festival the entire day, he couldn't exactly bring himself to say no to the honest smiling man standing before him. With the request turned out of the way, the man's attention turned to Tadashi. "It is great to see you too, we have never spoken but Zyrune speaks of you often. You should come along too, I have a some interesting stuff to decorate your goods, half price sale." The man explained chuckling happily.
The druid left out a long sigh. It wasn't that he and the man didn't get on, in fact he rather enjoyed the man's company and was grateful that someone other than Tadashi liked him, it was just that the shop was his secret little adventure, the place he visited if he needed inspiration or needed to get away and maybe he was being considerably selfish in the matter but he wanted it to remain his at least for a while longer. The half-alv healer watched the man with pursed lips as he said his goodbyes and left. Watching for a moment as he ran off towards up the pathway towards some more stalls, the druid contemplating not for the first time how he ended up being roped into a date with the man to discuss tailoring equipment when he could spend that time enjoy the nightly concerts that would happen due to the festival.
To make things worse, he had only just been joined by the lander moments before, they hadn't even said anything to each other before the shop keeper had approached the table. Letting a sigh pass over his lips once more, the druid observed the tall larger lander, he seemed to be quite happy in himself or at least Zyrune was presuming. It was a few seconds before they even talked as the druid seemed to be unable to form words as the lander grinned from ear to ear. It wasn't an uncomfortable silence but a silence nonetheless. Zyrune hadn't exactly informed the lander that he had switched subclasses and was designing clothes, so that came as a surprised to the other man who was clearly savoring the druid's embarrassment about the entire matter.
“Tailoring,” Tadashi chimed, the smile never leaving the taller man's face. “I don't think I would have ever guessed that, why the change from being an artist?" The lander grinned. "Tired of painting nudes for a living?" Zyrune glared at him but shrugging. "I just don't want to paint anymore, don't worry I won't try to use you as a model or anything." The druid mumbled in response still refusing to look at the lander directly.
"Shame." The taller man replied with such feigned disappointment that the druid cast him a questioning look. "I was rather hoping to become a model." Shaking his head, the druid shrugged the comment off, letting out a breath of air, the pink haired druid slumped down, resting his chin in the palm of his hand, refusing to interact with the lander at all, just sat there with a blank look on his face, occasionally glancing towards the servers who still had yet to approach their table.
Eventually a server approached them to find the druid still refusing to interact with his companion while the man grinned, relaxing in his chair. "It will only be a few minutes." The woman assured with a polite smile before casting the two a questioning look wondering what had past between the two before spinning around to scurry back towards the kitchen area to let the chef know what had been ordered. Zyrune hadn't even asked for anything, he had let the lander do the talking, just praying that he ordered something the half-alv would enjoy.
The lander started at the pink hair of the druid as he stared at his hands. This was common behavior for the druid at first and the lander had come to know him just enough to know that once the food came, he would be back to his normal self. The silence didn't seem to bother the druid at all, he looked so at ease it was as if it was perfectly normal to sit at a table for two in a festival designed to celebrate love and completely refuse to engage the other in conversation, then again this is how most of their conversations started and the lander guessed that the druid might have been disappointed that he couldn't reveal his new subclass to the lander himself like he guessed he wanted to.
It was also possible that the adventurer had planned to take the taller lander to the shop for a surprise visit, show him around and introduce him to the shop keeper at some point of his choosing and Tadashi guessed that due to the man's abrupt appearance, it was likely that the fun of it all was gone leaving the pink haired man strangely disappointed.
It was odd that the two of them sat and refused to talk, they hadn't seen each other for some time and it was only recently that the lander had managed to secure the time off for himself and had sent an invitation to the half alv druid asking him to enjoy the festival with him, there was no real intent behind it. Of course the lander felt affection towards Zyrune, but it was never acted on. He had tried so many times to confess his attraction to him, that it had gone ignored by the adventurer who either didn't understand the lander was flirting with him or refused to acknowledge it. Either way the lander had been going on occasional dates here and there and he wasn't exactly sure if Zyrune had or not, he guessed the later due to his ability to make friends with anyone.
Eventually the silence between the two got too much even for the very patience lander. Leaving out a sigh, Zyrune felt the man's eyes on him before hearing him clear his throat. "How is tailoring?" The druid's head snapped up. "It's fine I guess." The half alv responded evenly before dropping his eyes back to the table before more emotionless staring ensured. It frustrated the lander to no end as he didn't have any hope of reading his companion. He knew after such a time of being apart that the pink haired healer had news and was dying to share it with him, dying to tell him all about his adventures and trips outside of Londinium and yet here he was giving the lander what appeared to be the cold shoulder or was he being particularly introverted for some reason. He couldn't help but wonder if Zyrune was like this in other people's presence and if so how did he expect to make friends by acting so confusing and weird.
Lucky the two were saved from an even longer awkward and silent encounter when a loud noise erupted from the kitchen area, followed by the appearance of the server carrying two large plates of hot steaming food that the lander had ordered. However before he could manage it, the woman tripped. The pink haired half alv's eyes widened in concern and the lander jump up to aid the woman before she fell to the ground. However she managed to steady herself but not before the plate of food toppled over towards the lander.
As the druid took in the scene before him, he paused. The place was a disaster, red sauce seemed to coat the entire area, this unfortunately included his lander companion, who appeared to coated in what would have been their dinner, his entire face was strained bright red. "Um..." He mumbled seemingly unable to take it all in. The server gawked at him before spouting off several different apologies and ways that she could assist in cleaning up the mess. Then as if the two heared if at the same time. A slight hiccuped snicker. The lander furrowed his eyebrows, scanning the room for a source, before landing on the half alv who stood nearby.
The druid blinked several times, trying to keep his expression impassive. Slowly, though, his normally stoic visage seemed to crack, eyes sparkling with poorly contained amusement. He snorted loudly before releasing a round of warm laughter, shoulders trembling as he tried and failed to hold it in. Ducking his head, he lifted a hand up to muffle his giggles, cheeks tinted pink and a small smile on his lips.
The lander swallowed loudly, mouth hanging half open in shock. A warm blush crept up his neck as his companion burst into laughter. Zyrune, whom he’d rarely seen so much as show any emotion whatsoever, was laughing and he had the most adorable laugh the lander had ever heard, to the point he could do nothing but gape at him like a dying fish.
"You find this funny?" The lander grumbled, but he had a wide smile on his face as if seeing his best friend laugh for just a few seconds was worth destroying his clothes and going without a meal for another while. The half alv sucked in a deep breath, dropping his hand back to his side. “I’m deciding where we eat next time,” he mumbled, cheeks still flushed pink. The lander sighed, glancing down at his ruined clothes in dismay. “I don't suppose you have a change of clothes.” The lander asked, praying that the adventurer had some extra pair of clothing sitting in that magical bag of his.
The half-alv shrugged apologetically for a moment before retaking his seat and lifting the back into his lap before beginning to root around inside it in search of something that the lander would wear. The lander server who had not realized that her mouth had been hanging open this entire time, hastily clamped it shut upon receiving a glare from the lander, who was trying to regain some semblance of composure.
"What about this?" The pink haired druid broke the tension as he pulled out of his bag the very first item that he had managed to craft successfully, the macaroon chef vanity outfit. It would look odd to have the lander dressed like a chef, but at least he wouldn't be covered in red sauce any longer. “Yes! I-It’s fine,” he grunted. “Do you have any place I clean up?” The second part was directed towards the blushing lander woman, who nodded gesturing for the tall lander to follow her. "You'll be fine in no time at all and the next meal is on the house," The woman beamed with delighted. "Here let me just..." She spoke turning and taking the vanity clothes from the druid adventurer and then hastily leading the tall lander to somewhere more private where he could clean up and get dressed.
The druid shook his head as he surveyed the table and the mess that had been left in their wake, deciding it best to take a different seat while he waited for the two to return. "Tada.." The lander grunted moments later as he stood before the adventurer. It was clear that he was embarrassed about the whole situation and refused to look at the druid. Unknowingly, Zyrune continued to watch him wide eyed taking in both how wonderful his craft looked on the man and how handsome he looked, still a little dazed. “Why are you looking at me like that?” Tadashi asked bluntly, not even bothering to look over. Zyrune flinched, quickly averting his eyes to anywhere that wasn't Tadashi his companion and his pretty cheeks and deep blue eyes. Damn it, why did he have to go noticing stupid things like that now? “I- What are you talking about?” Zyrune shot back unconvincingly, folding his arms across his chest. Tadashi huffed, but didn’t respond, although he did look rather strange standing before him like a five star chef.

[attr="class","lyric"]baby, i'm preying on you tonight [attr="class","word"] 624 (936) WORDS Bit of a pain. Xai could feel a nerve twitching in her head. Bit of a pain... I'll show you a bit of pain, Fenrir, just you wait until tonight.. "What the hell do you mean by a bit of a pain, Fenrir?" She whispered it under her breath, leaning slightly closer to Fenrir, so that the fortune teller couldn't hear her, but he certainly could. Yeah, she would definitely have a stern talking to with him tonight. He would definitely regret that later but she could not very well mention it right now.
So she listened to the fortune teller's cards, watching as the woman dealt out the cards. Now here was the entertainment. She had went there because, yes, she wanted to act like a couple and get her fortune told, but also because she knew full well that Fenrir didn't believe in that stuff. And that, to watch him sit through this, that was entertaining. Two parts entertainment, a win-win situation for her.
It was nice seeing what he was really thinking - that is, if he was being honest and truthful. And then the cards - oh god, the cards. They were very... actually, could she even say they were accurate because they weren't dating? Some of these cards, she wanted to completely disregard because of how true they ended up being. Some of them she didn't know how they applied to the two of them...
Someone keeping them apart? Something holding them back? It was all gibberish to her. Competitors? Well Fenrir had many of those, so to speak. And the only setback she could think of is something along the lines of being delayed from leaving. Hopefully nothing about his sister... please let nothing to about that.
Loan of that cannot be repaid? Xai could relate to that, since she was just using Fenrir for, well, sex to put it all plain and simple. Is one favoring the other more... Xai couldn't see that. Unless Fenrir was the perpetrator, but he was hardly one to do that, was he? Surely he had other girls he slept with, that would only be logical seeing as she wasn't some call girl he was sleeping with. She had other clientele - Fenrir wasn't even clientele because he didn't pay any money. Perhaps he was the one using her. But that would be mutual, then.
The rest she just... there was one warning of their travels, and she was quite unsure if that meant anything or not. "Fenrir, that trip..." A waste of time? But Fenrir didn't believe in this stuff, and Xai was unsure if she did either. Fortune telling was all a bunch of hocus pocus, but the rules of Elder Tale didn't apply to the logic that she knew of. She was a little scared, she didn't know if she wanted to go through with it, but at the same time she had made a promise to Fenrir. And she didn't want to go back on it. And every logical bone in her body was saying that this fortune telling was fake and shouldn't be believed in the first place.
"I'm more than happy Fenrir. Thank you so much for your services." She gave the woman a bit of coin and then literally dragged Fenrir out of the tent. As much as she wanted to talk about the fortune telling, she was getting a bit exhausted. Even though they had only really done one thng. And she was greatly looking forward to something else...
"Fenrir, how about we come back to my place? I'm getting a bit tired of these festivities, and I'm sure I can keep you from boredom just as well over there than here. What do you say, hmm?"
