Saskia could feel the uncanny chill that snaked down her spine as if she had some innate intuition than trouble would be soon arise. Her heartbeat began to beat at a slightly increased rate as he eyes scoured over her surroundings.
She could hear it.
The beating war drum of her heart as her pysche started to rise and she became more situationally aware of her surrounding. She could smell the sulfur in the air as the company continued their advancement.
She looked over at the weary and ragged men. She could tell that whereas they were indeed bold and courageous fighters, that they had lacked rest by trying to complete the mission on time. Everything here would soon be a battle of time, as they had no way of telling when the dragon would emerge. There was so much at risk. She began to wonder what might happen if the dragon broke free so close to the other neighboring villages in the middle of their grand pilgrimage.
How many lives would have to suffer because of the recklessness of a few dwarven men.
The thought that resonated within her mind was completely impalpable. She growled as she thought of these things. However, her attention was drawn away by the passenger that road along behind her.
“Aye...I learned a lot from my friend Pen, she’s a bit of an expert on medieval combat and tactics. My father was also in the army. So I was a bit of a military brat. Also, my boyfriend studies a lot about modern ilitary formations and he taught me some things as well. Everything I know is a collection of what I learned from others. "
Saskia then looked at the others. “I would, but we have no time...”
She sensed it. The smell of sulfur getting stronger. Her gaze drifted to the ground ahead of them and the formations of the ground began to swivel into the constuct of a brtual behemoth.
“Lesser Soil Golems! They’re right under us! Scatter everyone! Regroup into a pincer formation!” Saskia commanded in an authoritative voice.
She raised her pole arm fiercely as she dashed through the infernal gates of combat.
In her wild gallant charge, she thrusts her spear into the one of the wild golems and began to circle around to go for another strike.
“Damn...of all the damn thinks they had to put be up against....” She growled then looked back at Saproth. “Be wary..they’re resistant to physical strikes. Do you happen to have any magic that could help?” Saskia asked.

Surprised at the shifting earth and the sudden galloping charge of the steed, Saproth forgot to keep his hold and rolled off Icarus' back and landed on his head, "Owwfffffff!" Saproth said as he braced his arms before hitting the ground, cushioning some of the blow.
As Saskai barked out orders and tactics, he could see at least five follow or at least know what she was talking about. Saproth tried to run after her but another Golemn started to break through between him and Saskai.
Saproth could hear Saskai calling for him, or probably didn't realize that he had fallen off in the chaos. "IM HERE!", waving his arms, Saproth stepped over the Golemn as it climbed out of the earth. "Oh, a spell... a spell!?" Saproth tried desperately to cast something to help them.
Finally, a spell did come to him, "WILLOW SPIRITS!" Saproth cast to the closes target to Saskai.

In all the pandemonium and chaos that ensued there after, Saskia had not been able to hear Saproth’s falling due to the thunderous pounding of Icarus’s hooves in tandem with the rough rumbling of the ground as it turned into a lesser soil golem.
With her commanding voice echoing across the skirmish lines, she could only see a few men that rendered aid in the proper fashion. Meanwhile, there were other members within their ranks that didn’t seem to have a clue what the hell was going on.
“Jesus christ! What type of rag tag militia is this!?!” Saskia gritted her teeth as she jerked up at the reins in order to direct her horse upon a different course.
She was trying to subdue the golem by outmaneuvering the wild beast and flanking it across the left side while the men swarmed on it from the right and smashed their maces and axes across it’s hind legs.
“T-this isn’t working....” One of the men shouted as his maxe only recoiled off the beasts thick skin.
“We have to fall back. Their defenses are too thick for us to penetrate!”
Saskia looked over the faltering me with a snarl as she turned her head to see Saproth on the ground below. When the hell did he hop off?
The boy stumbled around a bit before he cast a spell that latched onto the beast.
“Great work, Saproth! Now leave the rest to me!” She shouted over the loud noise of the battle.
She charged forth on her horse and then activated her [Armor Crash] skill and soon her 2 handed spear was engulfed in an ultrasonic wave making the spear appear blurred in waves of blue and steel.
She then used it to chip away chunks of the lesser soil golem with her powerful spear as the beast growled at her.
Because of her advanced mobility on the horse, she was able to get away before the beast could strike, simply because of the vines that sprouted from the ground and restricted it.

Saproth witnessed as the others rallied at Saskia's successful effort to lunge a blow at one of the Golems, everyone taking their turn striking at the same target until it burst into a shower of coins and items.
Saproth was still aware of the Golemn sprouting from the ground behind him and two more slowly dragging roots and earth as they lumbering towards the party.
Saproth tried to access the situation and information from other games started to flow to him, but wasn't sure if the information would help or not. "In other games, Golemns are usually elemental automatons being controlled by someone else..." Saproth volunteered the info, "Or... the eyes... the eyes seem to be a weak point for any creature, isn't it?"
Saproth had mixed emotions of excitement and fear as three Golems slowly boxed them in from all three corners. One in their party hadn't stopped clanging at his musical triangle as if there was no tomorrow which started to annoy him for a bit. "Why did it have to be Golems!?" Saproth started to regret going on this mission.

Saskia stormed across the the open plains she growled at the sight of even more enemy stone troops advancing. As they began to wail on one of the golems for a long period of time, she realizaed that it was taking the vast majority of their cumulative strength just to bring one of the behemoths down.
As Saskia weaved around the outer web of the formation, she heard the fierce rumbling from undernath the platoon’s feet.
The large and massive stone golem’s began slinging masses of rocks at the group as the militia soldiers began to scatter for dear life.
That was when the emerld haired druid began to speak about the general natures of these types of beast and how they’re very existence came to be about.
Saskia had not even thought about how it may have been possible that these beasts were summoned much like how the summoner, Raef Blackwood, whom she met in the forest was able to conjure up soil golems from the earth as well.
Her eyes focusing on the targets surrounding them, she had little oppurtunity for things such as light reconnaissance. She looked over to the young druid boy.
“I think there may be summoners behind this. Try and find them. They got to be somewhere nearby, lurking from a distance. Check the woods!” She shouted as she advanced towards the tall behemoths and unleashed a brutal [Vicious Crusade] as she sacrificed a fraction of her life enrgy and infused it with the attack of her blade slashing forward with her spear in such a great momentum that it destroyed the fragments of the terrain and left craters in the earth where two of the golems stood.
Seeing as this was a Tier II skill with enough power to wipe out entire battalions, it only left dust and debris and anima bubbles where the golems once stood.

Saproth noticed Saskia's HP was low and quickly cast "HEARTBEAT HEAL" to replenish it, as it was nearly the only thing he was good for anyway. As he finished, he saw a flicker from one of the trees they passed by and quickly but carefully walked up towards it.
"What is this?" Saproth didn't see any danger in pulling the object out of the tree. It was some kind of branch with a green glowing gem embedded into it. "Wait... this must be the trigger... the Golems arnt being controlled... at least not now... I think this was a trap..." Saproth deduced.
Saproth called to the others, "Look what I found!"

As her powerful skill ripped through the terrain, she saw the rest of the men start to gain morale from the stunning display. The paradigm shift of the new found fervor in their eyes increased at a rapid rate as they became encouraged and swarmed over the final golem in a valiant charge.
Though the golem was ferocious and didn’t go down without a fight, despite several of their members being smashed with the heavy boulder arms and toss around like rag dolls, they perservered because they believed in their ability to fight gallantly onward.
After a furious strikes with their maces and axes, the rocky beast began to bleed chunks of green blood and crumble to pieces. The rubble that remained slowly dissolved into a radiant mist of anima bubbles before drifting high to the heavens above.
Saskia then became wrapped in a soothing aura that offered her some minor healing because of the level differentiation. However, she appreciated the kind gesture and in tandem with her natural in combat healing from [Resilience] she was able to feel much better, though she didn’t seem to hold any true fear about the monsters around this level.
She was curious however how many of the men leftover managed to survive, and if the numbers would be enough to continue the journey.
Her eyes began to search the area for her druid companion that she asked to start scouting, he shouted to the group about a device that he had found. Saskia had trotted over on her horse to inspect it.
“Hmm..it seems somebody or something....doesn’t want us interfereing with this dragon. I don’t like the looks of this.” Saskia muttered under her breath.

"Well..." one of the three big men walked up to them, "That was a tiffy, wasn't it?" He smiled and brushed off some dust off his collar. "Well, seems like were still intact... shall we press on?"
Saproth quickly hid the device he'd found earlier into his cloak and gave Saskia an expression resembling he was having second thoughts about the mission. "Yeah... why dont we take the rear while you people scout ahead..." Saproth suggested as this might give Saskia and him the privacy they needed to talk.
"Lets get moving," the man nodded, "I dont want to be in these woods when night bites..." he signaled for everyone to move on.
Some of the others started looting for equipment and others for gold.
Saproth was about to leave when he stumbled on an item piece. "Well, well..." Saproth picked it up and it turned out to be an unidentified staff weapon. "Lucky day..."
Saproth then turned his attention back to Saskia up her steed. "So... any thoughts?" he whispered.

Saskia’s eyes glared out owards the horizon. Though the men spoke, their words fell on deaf ears as she drowned out their words. She was more intently focused on their survival as experience taught her that complacency kills. She couldn’t afford to be apathetic anymore- not here, not now.
She kept her senses and her wits about her about her eyes scanned the jagged terrain for any sight of hostiles. Her wolf ears perked up to try to listen for the slightest sound of a disturbance. After a while of vigilant service, she exhaled a breath of relief and glanced back to the troops.
“Yeah, well, listen up! We just got lucky. There’ s bound to be more of these assholes. I can’t help but fight the feeling that somebody set this up. It might have just been a diversion to thin out our numbers before the the true ambush that may lie ahead. “
Saskia then gazed back to Saproth noticing that he was doing something shady and was not feeling so enthusiastic about the quest anymore. She could see the skepticism in his eyes and hear the reluctancy in his tone of voice.
She trotted back with him at the rear flank, making sure to keep a close distance and stay a few meters behind the others.
“You’re not feeling good about this either. I can feel it. These guys are probably going to end up getting you killed. I might be able to manage just fine, but I have a grim feeling about all this. With nightfall approaching, who knows what spawn of hell might be lurking in the forests...”

Saproth scratched as his head, "Not particularly, no..." Saproth admitted, "Im starting to think this mission is becoming more than I can chew... if not for you, Im sure we'd all be in some cathedral by now, and those NPC's would have been dust..." Saproth wanted to say thanks to Saskia but there was still much left till their literally out of the woods.
Saproth walked closer. "Im not completely confident I'd survive this anymore. But leaving might also jeopardize the mission..." Saproth felt guilty for the others. "What should we do?"
Saproth then pulled out the talisman he saw pinned on the tree earlier. "And what do you think of this?" Saproth handed it to Saskia. "Do you think someone doesn't want this mission to succeed?"
Saproth thought this was a straight forward do as your told mission... but it seems now the mission might entail a bit of mystery and detective work which complicates things more. If Saskai was going to tell him it was too dangerous, he wont argue and opt to take his leave. Its all in Saskia's hands

Saskia inhaled a deep breath roughly looking quite agitated by the recent turn of events. She looked at the foolish battalion in scorn, having regretted coming upon this mission. She wished she would have just sat down and kept chewing on her grapes. With dust and debris caked on her face, she gazed at Saproth with a firm expression.
“You do know the risks of death, don’t you Saproth? You die here and you will lose a fragment of your memory. No matter what you do. That shard can be lost forever. It could be a memory of a family member or some one you cherish. It could even be a fleeting memory that brought you the greatest of joys. Slowly but surely, the more you die in this world....the more you lose sight of who you truly are...”
“Know this...if we choose to abandon these people...chances are that they may die. Mothers will become widows and children fatherless. I have seen this happen before and know the sensation all to well. If you are willing to take up arms and sacrifice that shard of your memory for the sake of these men, then follow me. If you value your memories. That’s perfectly understandable. I have the strength to protect some of these people, but not all. I can heal everyone at once, and I have my own limitations in battle. They need my sword and my shield as much as they need my healing abilities and I’m afraid I simply cannot juggle all three.”
“As for this relic....I have not seen it before. However, I sure this was a setup and their may be more trouble ahead that endangers the lives of these people. I got a feeling that whoever summoned these Golems might have been a Summoner.”

Saproth understood Saskia's concern and it made him feel conflicted. "Well, I guess we have to push on... as there wasnt any other choice..." Saproth nodded and shuddered, not like they could ask someone else for help... "Lets try to ask our guides a bit more details about the mission... might clarify what we're up against more..."
Saproth finally saw lights twinkling from a distance. It was about an hour until sundown and the distant light was slowly getting clearer, "A cabin... a cabin... in the woods?" Saproth wasn't sure if he should be relieved or more concerned.
"Aye, lets camp there for the night, seems the most logical thing to do anyway," the party guide pointed. "Im sure they would be most welcoming..."
Counting their heads, there were nine adventurers and three guides, making their total number to twelve. Saproth wasn't sure if a small cabin would be able to accommodate them all, some might have to camp outside.
Saproth then showed Saskai another item, "How about this unidentified staff weapon?" Saproth healed it up to her, "What should I do for it?"

Saskia looked down at Saproth from her perch on the horse. She knew the man was conflicted, but he had made up his mind. She wouldn’t try to stop him. She asked him a firm question, an he knew the risks. She admired the slight seed of courage that was sprouting from the man, but she couldn’t help but feel conflicted about bringing him along.
“The way ahead is sure to be dangerous. Travel ahead at your own peril. However, if you insist then yes, I suppose the best thing to do now is to speak to one of the guides. Let’s just pray they know what they are doing.” Saskia muttered under her breath as she advanced forward.
Icarus cantered behind him letting out a rough neigh as he advanced forth like a tiger.
Well, it seems like things are getting more suspicious by the minute...whoever set that trap will probably be expecting us to try to camp hear. It’s going to be a long night. I guess I’ll take the first watch. Doubt I’ll be sleeping at all tonight anyway.” Saskia huffed as her metal shield clanged against her suit of armor.
She shifted her head to Saproth. “So what our head count looking like? Did we lose anyone yet?”
She kept her gaze on the outskirts of the field as she noticed a bunch of rabbits scurrying off into the woods.
Saproth bought a staff to Saskia’s attention and she inspected it from afar.
“I’m guessing someone saw you coming and dropped the staff as they were trying to get away. Which further leads me to believe that the people we might be dealing with are mages...”

Saproth looked back at the staff and wondered, "Why does everything have to be a conspiracy?" Saproth sighed, "Couldn't it be simply a smaller party previously tripped the same Golemn trap and unfortunately failed and died, leaving the staff behind?" Saproth argued... but then realized that scenario was worst.
"Well, were here." One of the three guides said as they arrived at the cabin. "Let me check if the occupants are hospitable," He said walking on by himself.
Saproth finally took a seat at the closes rock face he could find and took the weight from his aching feet, "I dont remember experiencing this same pain in the real world," He said as he removed his shoes and rubbed his feet. "Seems like its all down hill from here... no Golems in sight..." Hoping he didnt speak too soon.
The guide came back quick... "Seems the cabin is unoccupied. A stroke of luck..." The guide smiled. "Well then, women first... you can go in and do your ladyness. We'll start to set up camp out here." The guide instructed.
Looking around, there was only one woman in the party.

Saskia sighed as she warily looked about and heard Saproth mutter a question that made Saskia raise a brow. He had seemed to be far less vigilant than she had expected. Time and experience had always taught her to assume the worst and to be prepared in the event that the situation did arise.
“Because complacency kills...you have to hope for the best but prepare for the worst. You start getting to comfortable and it won’t cost you not only your memory, but the lives of others. “ She advised.
“Now granted, what you say is true, it could have been left behind as spoils of combat. If that’s true, that makes matters worse. That would mean whoever is behind it was perfectly fine with killing. It wasn’t a ploy to capture somone or put anyone up for ransom or even steal their goods....”
Saskia’s words were harsh, but that was the filter she had on situations like these. She couldn’t afford to be careless. Everything in this forest was now suspicious to her.
“Alright, just shout if anything goes wrong. I’ll go check the outer perimeter and make sure it’s secure.” Saskia yelled as she galloped around the outside of the area, making sure no stray beasts or snakes were slithering around the vicinity.
Having found some form of a sense of security, she dismounted Icarus and made her way inside the cabin.
Her steel greaves tapped against the wooden surface as she past the guide up. She would then lean up against a wall with her arms folded and seem to be deep in thought.
“So you going to bed? If you are then try to stay away from the windows...” Saskia murmered as she stuck to the wall like glue.

Just as they were about to settle, they were met by an old man with a bundle of firewood on his back and an axe on his hand. "I see you've found my cabin..." The old man laid down his burden but kept his axe at hand. "I am sure you are all here with good intentions... if you dont mind, Im just a bit surprised to see a troop of adventurers welcoming themselves to my property without an invitation."
Saproth slowly stood up and tried to pacify the situation. "Good Sir. What a nice evening we are having arn't we?" He raised his hands out as if showing he meant no harm. "We arrived here fresh from a battle and we were just too tired to make sure if no one would mind before taking a rest. I hope you understand." He tried to explain, slowly getting between the old man and his companions.
The old man, probably in his sixties, and clearly a person of the land, stood his ground. "I understand perfectly," The man smiled. "But you must understand my surprise and hesitation..."
Saproth nodded, "Yes, yes..." he said cheerfully, "And Im sure we'd be happy to pay for services and all hospitality you would extend to stay here for you over the night," Saproth tried to negotiate as he looked back to the guides if they were amenable.
Saproth stood there barefoot waiting for the old man to relax and lower his guard.

Saskia froze in position, not certain whether she should brandish her sword by unsheathing it from it’s royal blue scabbard or if she should sacrifice precious seconds by hesitating as her eyes fell upon the axe. The shiny sparkling of the metal made her feel uneasy, however the sight of the freshly cut wood was able to bring her a few moments of peace.
She examined the mans facial features and began to wonder if he could be the one that was behind the attack on them. However, the man was heavily outnumbered and outmatched and if he had scouted them out so much, he would have known better to reveal himself. After gathering what little information she had, she came to the consensus that he wasn’t hostile as she listened to the elderly man speak.
He had made it quite apparent that he was the owner of this cabin, which means that they were taking refuge in an already occupied area. Before she could utter a word Saproth quickly interceded and tried to speak on their behalf.
His cheerful nature and innocent grin was able to disarm the old man an buy them some time. Saskia was skeptical that the man would ever just allow so many men to stay the night, but however, after hearing Saproth give bold talk about offering compensation for accomdation, she began to believe that the weary lumberjack would be willing to comply.
For the moment, she simply stood there, with her hand strumming along the edge of the hilt of her sword.
“So, will you help us, sir? Or will we have to keep moving?”

"A WOMAN?!" The old man's eyes widen as a drip of saliva sparkled down from the side of his lips, quivering in delight as he dropped his axe to the ground. "OH GLORIOUS NIGHT!"
Saproth sunk emotions couldn’t utter another word as he have witnessed the same scene in is favorite anime as a child. "The proverbial dirty old man..." Saproth sighed.
The old man snakingly walked towards Saskia like a gigolo. “Why didn’t you say we were in the presence of such radiance!” The old man batted his eyelashes at her, “Oh please, you are all welcome to stay! I have gone to the forest for some firewood since I expect a very cold night... but now I suspect a very warm night for some of us...” the old man smiled and winked at Saskia.
Everyone else, seeing as the old man has been pacified, returned to calm down and settle in. “Much obliged good Sir.” Saproth said as he elbowed Saskia, “Don’t ruin it for the rest of us.” Saproth hinted.

Saskia grumbled in a loathsome manner as her tongue kissed her teeth. She despised being treated like an item. The idea of a man ogling his eyes at her was eerie and uncomfortable. It reminded Saskia of the time when the creepy heretic, Icarus, an adventure she met in a bar, strummed his fingers through her hair. Afterwards, she couldn’t get rid of him. Like some freakish goon he stalked her relentlessly.
An icy chill snaked down her spine as she heard the words slide off his silver tongue as the old geezer welcomed them with a kindred spirit. Saskia was of course very skeptical of the whole sitution and the role she had to play in it. It almost made her was to vomit in her mouth a bit as she looked at the balding man. She grimaced at the sight of his jagged teeth as he spoke.
Saskia clenched her eyes shut as she caught sight of the saliva oozing from his lips. She nearly choked to death as he batted his eyes and praised her for her graceful features. However, he had offered them all a place to stay. However, his last few choices in words made Saskia want to scream and pul her pink strands of hair out.
She felt simply miserable after everything that was going on. She cut Saproth an evil eye as he pratically forked her over just so the group could have a place to rest.
“I’ll...uhh...I’ll be outside and take first watch. ” She stammered as she gripped the side of her arms with both hands, nervously shifting past the others to hang out outside with her horse.

"Oh, well... if you change your mind my lovely," The old man pranced, "you know where its warm and cozy~ Papa Marcus will be waiting..." He smiled and dashed into his small one room cabin, singing a tune as he trotted.
Saproth could only feel the shivers Saskia might have felt while thinking of the lustful advances the old man had for her. Which reminded Saproth to pick up the wood and axe the old man had dropped off in his rush and carried them to the old man.
Saproth knocked on the door before coming in.
"I knew you would change your mind~" the old man was now wearing nothing but a small white tow-let around his waist.
"Ahem," Saproth cleared his throat as he threw his gaze at the wall, "Your axe and wood, Sir." Saproth placed both to the ground. "And if you dont mind, we'll take half of the wood and pay you for the trouble as promised.
The old man nodded sheepishly, "You know, you don't have to pay for anything..." He whispered, "Simply ask that young lady friend of yours to rest here with me."
Saproth quickly turned his back with the wood scraps, "I cant promise anything."
Saproth arrived back with the others were a fire was already lit in the center where the others have pitched up tents and whatever they had to keep the chilly air a-bay.
He saw Saskia and the other guides already in mid discussion. "Yes... like I have said, its all routine... we've done this work about four times already... and the dwarves are very generous." The guide said pulling out a kettle to warm by the fire.
"What exactly is the dwarves doing with the dragon?" Saproth curiously asked.
"Well..." The guide started, "I shouldn't be telling you this, but its all about gold." The guide started to tell the story about how the dwarves us the dragon to sniff out caves where there was most gold deposits, but did not want competition to learn their trick.
Saproth was reminded of the same way pigs were trained to sniff out truffles. "So thats what their doing..."
